My change in lifestyle has been going pretty well but I haven't totally given up ice cream yet (damn it!) but I am getting there because I also do cardio and ab exercises three times a week. I cant believe it.

. I happen to be a stir fry fiend and I love food from Busaba Eathai and Wagamama so I went fishing on line for recipes they had on their website and I tried this Chilli Prawn Stir- fry I found on the Busaba website. I wanted a heavy meal for dinner on one of those days when salad was just not cutting it. However, I must add that I made some slight changes to the original recipe like in place of fresh Thai sweet basil leaves, I got Thai sweet basil paste instead and in place of Thai chilli jam, I got Thai chilli paste (hence the variation in colour from the original recipe) plus I added some spring onions to it a minute before I took it off from the burner to bulk it out a bit (its optional though). If there is a China Town around you, you could try your luck with finding the original ingredients I substituted for. My result turned out delicious either way! Serve with basmati rice preferably because it is a healthier option.

Did I mention how much I adore shiitake mushrooms? Yum!

I have been much of a homebody and I have not been feeling 100% as of recent so that is why my face is scarce. I should be back on the scene soon!

GREENER PLATE, SLIMER WAIST

I have been trying to eat "clean"as of recent. This began ever since I realized how much I pant each time I go up a flight of stairs and that is not exactly normal for someone my age. I am doing this for health reasons not weight loss but I am also considering being toned which is why I am thinking of joining a gym or doing some form of sport. I was thinking about ehh... kick boxing! Am I being serious? Yes I am. Add swimming and some cardio exercises to that list. Due to these changes, I am trying to eat less carbs especially at night. So I came up with this salad recipe I like to enjoy for dinner with either Grilled Salmon or Grilled chicken I marinate with Nando's Hot Peri-Peri marinade.

You would need:

1 portion of chard

1 portion of endive

1 portion of salanova lettuce

1 portion of Batavia

1 portion roasted seed mix (optional)

2 hands full of cherry tomatoes

1 ripe hass avocado

1 handful of flaked almonds

3 tablespoons of balsamic vinaigrette (if you are deep like that and decide to make your own dressing, HERE you go

Begin by washing the vegetables and placing in a salad bowl. Wash the tomatoes and cut them in half. Place in the bowl as well. Gently de-seed the avocado , peel off the skin and cut the flesh into cubes. add the flaked almonds and the vinaigrette and mix lightly. Add the avocado cubes last and sprinkle in the roasted seed mix and you are good to go.

More tasty salad recipes coming up. By the way, this may not be filling and you could find yourself getting hungry later at night so I decided to start snacking on popcorn more often in place of ice cream. I am getting there!

Regarding the name of this post, I am not talking about myself please. I am not Megan Fox for Christ's sake and neither am I obsessed with myself. Finally got to meet up with my long lost friend after several years of separation. It was good catching up over lunch and roaming the streets of London like two misplaced tourists. I'm not going to yap about how awesome the weather has been but allow me to say I have finished about four tubs of Haagen Dazs this past week. That explains how burning hot it has been right? I guess so. Excuse my gluttony, but that is also partially due to my love for ice-cream anyway. I added some random photos I have been taking over summer. Enjoy.

Never realized how awesome a combination of these three colours are. I am trying to throw in more colours (especially yellow) into my wardrobe because I don't really have any yellow items besides a tattered hoodie that I used when I still used to make an effort to go jogging. I have always avoided yellow clothes and accessories because of the fear of looking like a glass of pineapple juice. Boy, was I so damn wrong.

Im a weirdo. I like googling recipes. Actually I consider that perfectly normal because we all love to eat dont we? Made Maple bacon pancakes. They taste like a slice of heaven and they are super easy to make. Just make sure you fry the bacon till its crispy and get rid of the excess fat using paper towels or you would risk turning that smile upside down.

When Harry met Sally.Its a classic. I happen to be a hopeless romantic once in a while and saw this one some days ago. Its cute. Your typical love story except with an array of high waisted pants and 80s curly hairstyles.

Yo! Long time no feature. It hit me some days ago that I had not featured any bloggers for a long time and I have finally broken my feature fast (I made up that word). Today, I introduce you to the ever lively, Naina Kamath. I admire her style of writing and the fact that she could throw on a ton of colours at once, eye blinding sneakers and sunglasses in the winter and still pull it off which is something that to be honest with ourselves, very few of us could do without looking like we got dipped in cans of paint. Besides that, she has also interned for a major magazine in the Big Apple and is a graduate at the very young age of 21. This I find very admirable. I got to ask her a couple of questions and discovered how friendly and down to earth she is. Sharing is caring so, enjoy!

Can you give us some background information about yourself?

I'm Naina, 21 years young. It's hard for me to describe 'where I'm from' because I'm a traveller and am always moving around; I'm American born but of Indian heritage, spent almost a decade growing up in Malaysia, moved back to the U.S. for college, a stint of habitation in Amsterdam, and am now residing in Munich.

I studied Media Studies & Journalism in college, which leaves the world wide enough open that I still believe that I'm educated enough for most opportunities that come my way. Which is pretty much a priority for me: always leave room for possibilities.

What/ Who inspired you to blog?

I had been perusing through fashion blogs for a while and one day thought 'heck, I can pose in front of a camera too!' And that was the start of that. 'Sidewalk Catwalks' derives out of my genuine belief that fashion is for the runways, but style is for the sidewalks.

What/ Who influences your style?

It would be easy to say designers and the who's who in the style sphere, but it's not true. I take inspiration from architecture, art and nature, where colours work together so harmoniously without even trying. And Tumblr. Tumblr never fails.

Any wardrobe staples, Naina?

When I was younger, I would change my handwriting at least twice a week. It's hard for me to imagine that I would be able to stick to an item of clothing for long enough to dub it a staple. I do like bright, bold pieces that can be mixed and matched, so I suppose those are what bind the pages of my closet together.

What do you enjoy doing besides blogging?

Blogging is not my entire life, which is something a lot of people don't understand about what they see on the internet. I am so much more than my photos; I like to make silly faces at people through car windows. I love to run and work out on my bedroom floor (pajamas + weights = true story). I actually love to go grocery shopping (the rows of neatly arranged veggies are like therapy), to concoct salads and enjoy them with my ever-faithful boyfriend. Above all, I live for kicking off my heels and going for a long, long hand-holding walk.

What was your experience like interning for a major magazine in NYC?

Hectic. I got to meet a group of celebrities at a cover shoot (lunch next to Sofia Vergara, anyone?) but it was a LOT of hard work and hours of running around New York acting as a human garment rack. (p.s. I assumed it was 'garmet,' until I was 17. I'm not stupid, I swear)

Do you think blogging has helped you in any way? If yes, how?

Fo' shizzle! I have made so many friends, gone to many a great event, and worked with a slew of friendly people. But above all, it's allowed me to define my own style. Everyone went through those years of high school dressing you wish could be eliminated from the memory of all humanity. Sidewalk Catwalks has helped me in realizing what I really want to wear, and taught me to not give a damn when others give weird stares.

Any style tips for us for SS13?

I don't believe in trends, so I'm not going to say 'ahh this color/ print/ material is sooo hawwwt this season.' My motto is to just wear what you want, when you want.

Do you have any advice for anyone looking to go into fashion journalism?

Be yourself. So, so cliche but so true. The words 'influence' and 'copy' have become far too interchangeable. Also, don't suck up. If you don't like something, don't fawn over it like it's the best thing since sliced bread; just say so.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I honestly don't know. Hopefully living with my love (after years of being on different continents) and a huge dog (I have a thing for dogs that are akin to horses). Career wise? Just doing something that I actually enjoy. Never waste your time with something that doesn't interest you - you could be hit by a bus tomorrow, so spend today doing something fun.

This was my first time wearing this tank top I got while I was back home in Nigeria. It got some attention which is fair considering it has buttons on it covered in ankara fabric. Sweet! I guess I have to wear it more often then! My shoes are by BCBG, skirt from Candy, the blazer is from Pull & Bear and my earrings and clutch are from H&M. Im out now. Deuces!

Currently taking out my braids and I cant lie I am a bit excited as my hair has grown over an inch. I guess the secret to growing natural hair is protective styling, protective styling and more protective styling (that is if you are not blessed with good genes ofcourse). I am kinda tempted to go back to my gorimakpa (Nigerian pidgin word for "baldie") style but I guess that would keep me from achieving the ultimate afro that Julia Sarr-Jamois rocks with so much swagg. In the mean time, a girl can only dream. Decided to share some natural haired beauties to all my natural sisters out there.Some extra motivation if you are tempted to visit the barbers on a bad hair day.

I think I have on a huge crush on this letterman jacket I got from eBay and this sweatshirt that I got from the vintage store, considering the fact that I have worn it times without number. I think I would wear these items till they literally fall apart and leave trails of thread for me to stitch back together. I recently discovered how much I love sweatshirts and I certainly see myself making them a wardrobe staple.

You guys know the Isabel Marant wedge sneakers that exploded in the fashion blogging atmosphere sometime last year yeah?These ones? I honestly was not a fan but I got something similar as a Christmas gift from my cousin and I loved them ever since. They are so comfortable and they go with anything. I have always seen Jordan retro 4s as my ideal pair of sneakers but for a girl 5"4 with size 8 feet, I would look very out of place donning those.

Oh by the way, my jeans are from Topshop and my shoes from Dorothy Perkins.

SOMETHING VERY NIGERIAN

Got tired of alternating between my Jollof rice and Fried rice and decided to have something else for a change. Dodo gizzard (gizdo for the love of funkyness) is a popular party dish in Nigeria and it is a bit on the spicy side. It is prepared using ripe plantains, tomatoes, gizzards and peppers along with other ingredients. I could eat tons of this especially because I love dodo and gizzard!

For you weight watchers and health conscious people out there, a little tip from me is cooking with olive oil instead of regular oil and other options like snails or kidney could be used in place of gizzard.

Reporting to you live from my warm and cosy bed and I do not even want to crawl out of it,not now,not anytime soon. Feeling ill for the 1000th time thanks to the weather again which is so gloomy and never ceases to dampen my mood. I wore this yesterday and I think I have a deep connection with male clothing seeing as I snatched up this lovely letterman jacket from the guy's section on eBay and the extra warm supersized sweater from the male section at TKMaxx. There is something about dressing adrogynous that has always appealed to me.

The boots are from Evans, the bag is from Mango, the scarf is from H&M and my beanie is by Crooks & Castles via eBay.

By the way, I cant stop listening to this song. I dont know why...

Im too weak to even tell my usual tales today. I better hurry off to bed or something. Hope you are all having an awesome week.

ANOTHER NIGHT OUT

Exams ended about a week ago and I am currently working on reviving my normal sleeping pattern and catching up on all the shows I have missed. This explains my prolonged absence during the month of January and I hope you all, my lovely readers, would understand. I spent this whole month dashing in and out of the library, sleeping at 8am and exhausting my funds on takeout (especially pizza). So me and my friends headed out the night exams ended and this was what I wore for the night.It was my first time donning a crop top and I think I quite like it. Its sexy and shows a bit of midriff but yet leaves something to the imagination if you get what I mean....

My skirt and top are from Candy, shoes from Primark, the belt is from Forever 21, bracelet was obtained from my mum and my earrings are from H & M.

I realized I have not blogged this whole month and it is already the 31st. Its amazing how time flies. Also dawned on me that most of my outfit posts have been on nights out. I guess I have to hit the brakes on that and post more often on day outfits. You have to blame it on the shitty weather here because it is either raining or snowing constantly, and that would mean me taking pictures indoors (which I hate so much).I would note that down and work on that as I have more time to myself now that exams are over.

Off to get some rest and listen to Robin Thicke.

Hello,hello its me again, Queen of the weirdest poses and facial expressions.Just making a post of what I wore to classes this past friday on a very gloomy day (as you can tell from the photos). This sweatshirt has to be my current favourite clothing item and I see myself wearing it with just about anything in my ~~closet~~ wardrobe. I have never really been into sweatshirts but I am starting to like them a lot because I feel they fit my figure and my sometimes tomboyish style .Plus they are very good for layering especially in this bloody cold weather that has been thrown at us.Excuse my language.

My sweatshirt is from Vintage.Its on Oldham Street so if you happen to come around Manchester, I suggest you check out Vintage and the other vintage stores on that street if you are into retro style and vintage because you would not be disappointed. Skinny jeans are from River Island, earrings from H&M and my all time favourite boots from Evans.

Hope you are all enjoying preparing for Christmas and buying loads of presents for your loved ones. I would probably post a gift guide soon enough to help some of you that might be confused about what to buy. Off to listen to Jay-Z and eat loads of cake.

RECIPE: CARIBBEAN SHRIMP CURRY

I have never really talked about how much I hate taking pictures when winter's ugly head finally shows up and the sun goes to sleep so early.I believe food photography is at its finest whenever natural light serves as the major source for photos. For now till the end of march, would have to deal with artificial light for my blog photos. I love love love this recipe I tried out recently. I love shrimp and I feel if you want to try out this recipe, you should get larger shrimps like the ones in the photo from the recipe I provided because it makes the meal a whole lot interesting. I also like to add a little extra scotch bonnet for a bit more fire. Do not forget to serve with fried plantain and a refreshing can of grape juice or whatever drink to calm those those taste buds. Besides, this is a perfect winter warmer and if you are allergic to seafood, chicken is also a juicy substitute. Enjoy!

CATCHING UP

I wouldnt even go in on how overdue this post is but heyyy that is what happens when you study International Business,Finance and Economics. I barely have anytime to get my friend to shoot for posts and I dont even have the time to blog much thanks to uni life and the flu that has refused to leave me alone. I better get a tripod and remote soonish and stop breaking my promises. I know I am meant to do the Lookbook and post a couple recipes but everytime I cook something yummy like shrimp curry or peppersoup, I am always too hungry to even think about taking a photo before devouring it. Soon enough, I would get around that so keep your eyes peeled!

I wore this almost two weeks ago to a party with my friends. I generally hate brightly coloured shoes but I happened to like these court pumps that my mum got for me by Bakers. My top is from Forever 21, earrings from H&M, necklace from Romwe, bracelets from ASOS and I dont remember where I got my clutch from (oops).

Anyway, got to run off now. I currently have the flu and I feel like I am about to die. The weather down here has not been very good to me to be honest. Going to eat something dangerously spicy to warm up my insides a bit. I guess food always solves all my problems.I think...

Wore this over the weekend on a night out with my girls (two of them turned up late so no photos :p )

I absolutely adored this peplum top I got from a random store. I thought the peplum with the velvet details was a great idea for something different from the usual peplum and then paired it with a basic mini skirt.

The top and the skirt are from Candy, my shoes are from New Look, clutch and earrings are from H&M and I stole the gold cuff from my mum.

Decided to jump on the bandwagon and get one of these camo jackets that everyone seems to be wearing.Every corner or street I walk into,I seem to find people dressed in camo inspired stuff be it tshirts, jeans or jackets.Another thing that made me attracted to the trend is my love for man repelling items.I guess I couldnt skip this one right.Throw anything baggy my way and as long as it is comfortable,I am good.

I originally wanted the camo from the German or U.S army for some strange reason but I did not find it.Well,I am cool like that.

They had a couple other ones I was loving and I think I might head back there and get em'! A couple sweatshirts too,sweet!

Nothing better than my uni hoodie. Very warm and comfortable.Just what a busy busy student like me needs. I am wearing sneakers by Converse, skinny jeans from Topshop and a ring from Dorothy Perkins.

PINK AND SPOTS

Probably some of you are looking at me and wondering "how the hell did she step outside dressed like that with the terrible weather?", well, let me just say once it was three in the afternoon, I was'nt reminded by anyone to opt for thicker tights and my wool lined hoodie. I wore this yesterday and as soon as the rain came pouring,I changed my flatforms to ballet flats because suede and water are not exactly friends.

Here I am again, dressed in my uniform and looking confused as usual. These past few days I have just been throwing on a comfy pair of jeans, a scarf, plushy sweater, minimal jewellery,flats or sneakers and a boyfriend blazer when the cold wind blows. I think I have an obsession for blazers because I probably have them in every colour and pattern. Thats pretty fair considering the fact that they contribute to my wardrobe staples. It was so windy today and shooting was getting so annoying because wind kept blowing my hair in different directions and I started looking like I just rolled out of bed.Pardon me this time, TWA would be back in a bit.

I just love black and white photos.They are so vintagesque and I am a vintage person in general. I am talking clothes, art,photos, hair, music, history e.t.c. i just find it fascinating so I should probably get to taking shots at museums and checking online for stuff.How I would love to access the Vogue archive,but a girl can only dream *sigh*

Wearing acid was jeans from H&M, vintage GAP sweater, scarf from H&M, ballet flats from Nine West and a bangle from Dorothy Perkins.

Whats the weekend saying?

I dont have concrete plans to be honest, I just hope I get to make some new dishes and share the recipes with you guys soon.
