Wow ! Time goes fast when you are having fun.

We left Tiffin's in Al. early March, so we had 3 weeks to get to Las Vegas. I'm so use to driving to the next place , it was hard to say , " We have to slow down and we can see things along the way" . We headed south to the MS shore area. We stopped at some casino's had some fun and stayed in their parking lots.

We visited Gloria Jane for a week , Fun time seeing the area and eating La, Cajun food. She headed to the FMCA Rally with Pat & Sherman, so we headed west. We could have stayed in her yard but we wanted to keep moving.

We decided we woud do the Casino's alone the way . Some were better to us than others but we were ahead, and it was a fun experience.

We found a Coast campground, rested and relaxed for a week, then traveled closer to Waco TX. to another Coast Campground for three days. We went to golf driving range for some practice.
Met a Tx. Staff couple and visited with them and got the scoop, were to go what to do before going into the Samboree.

We got to the TX Samboree on Sunday and we were keep busy with seminars and visiting. We were taken out to DQ every night. When you are with Good Sam you have to have your ice cream and fun at DQ. What a wild bunch.

Sat. was my birthday and they suprised me at DQ with cards , a teddy bear and a dozen Yellow roses. I can't tell you how pleased I was.

After spending a week with our Good Sam friends we headed to Las Vegas for the rafting trip.
The first day winds were so strong we decided to stop early. It was 91 outside. When we woke in the morning it was 20 and we had snow on the coach and car. Oh well, you never know.

We arrived in Vegas and went to Visit Al's brother in law.

The next moring we were picked up at the Resort, 17 of us, taken to airport, flown into the canyon and to a ranch, picked up by a small bus , taken to ranch where we were flown by helicopter , four at at time , farther into the canyon and the raft we would spend three days on. We were flown in and the people who had been on the seven day trip were flown out.

The weather was great , temp about 75. Great morning trip. stopped for lunch and then continued on Trip. A Fun, small rapids trip. Around 4 we landed for the night. We got instructions on how to set the tent and the cots. A great supper , setting around talking and to bed for a busy day. We were told we would hit some BIG RAPIDS, to wear our rain gear.

It rained during the night , cold and rainy all day. We had a great breakfast then on to the river. It's funny it rained the rest of the trip but it didn't rain when we ate. This day was fantastic The rapids were so BIG. When the guides said suck the rubber they ment it. You leaned forward as far as you could so you wouldn't be pushed back. Rapids one after the other , a thrill of a life time.

We camped a little earlier because of the rain and we were cold. The guides got hot , thick, New England Clam Chowder. Told us to get tents up. Then they came around with Shrimp cocktail.
Our dinner was salad, Thick steak and Rainbow trout. You couldn't have asked for or gotten a better meal in the best restrurant.
We sat around a fire for awhile then early to bed.
Last day , another great breakfast, and on the river again. Along the trip we would stop to see the waterfalls and sights. I took a water proof camera, I have to have them developed. NOt sure how they will come out. WE have a site on the web that we can put pictures and comments. My mail with the codes is home so I will get it later. Friend on the trip said they would share.

WE were rafted to a spot and a speed boat picked us up. 30-40 miles of super speed to a big bus that took us back to the resort.

THe raft was going to be taken apart and trucked back to the start for another trip.

On the trip we had two sisters, two brothers, 2 groups of 3( friends in College), Father & Son, An engaged couple, a gal alone from Brazil , Al & I. WE were the oldest. It was a great 100 mile grafting trip, trip of a life time.

Now we are "On The Road Again" . We have to move fast, The NM director would like us in ASAP, but we couldn't get there until Monday. We had a fun busy week, I only knew a few people, I had never been to NM before. WE were in Roswell, Where the Aliens landed. I was told we had to go to the musieum. It was fasinating. Things I didn't know. I was told I have to see the movie "Paul".

WE left NM and headed to the OK Samboree. Alone the way, we were instructed in TX , we had to go to the Palo Duro Canyon. Beautiful sights. Thanks Fayrene for telling us to see this.

WE arrived in Ok on Monday afternoon. Tues. we went with Diane/ John and Betty/ Geno to dinner and the Casino. A real fun time with these guys. They are vendors and once the show starts there's only time to go by, say Hi and get a hug. It was fun to be able to spend some time with them.

We went out with another gang to lunch at Casino. They gave us money off the buffet. Because it was our first time there. We got cards. Al got a dollar, It was my birthday month so they gave me two cards, I got $8. They gave me a 12.95 coupon for the buffet. Buffet was 7.95 so it didn't cost us much for lunch with that coupon and two $3 off coupons.

We stayed about one hour to play and gained a little.

The Samboree was great. There were about 30 for the TX Samboree there so we went to Brams everynight. This is another great ice cream place.

WE had some extra excitement at this Samboree. The Director announced that , someone brought to her attention, that this was the first Samboree that Ice was delivered to the rig site.
We had dime size hale.

We had to go to the tornado shelter once. The weather brodcasted for the next week was severe storms and more tornados and it looked like it was following I 40 east.

We decided we are going east but we would drop down to I-20. Good thing we did, weather has been good. Each day as we travel we look at the weather channel and it' has announced the Tornados and the damage done. So glad we decided this.

WE just got through Atlanta Ga. anad we should be at the NC Samboree around 4 this afternoon. We hope to see some of our friends from NC and the states around them.

We are looking forward to another great week, then we will head on Home to Maine , with a short stop in the Lewiston/ Auburn area for a Class reunion .

Sorry, this is so long but I wanted to try to get caught up. Not sure what excitement is ahead for us. Hopefully a little quieter.

Hi,

We left Florida and headed to Tiffin's to have the work finished we didn't have time to do before. They were great to us , got us right in and we were finished before we really planned to be. WE decided to do the paint when we go back in 2013.

Now, we have three weeks, we have to fill in before we go in to the TX. Samboree.

We called a Friend, Gloria Jane in La. "Come on in, I have room for you".

We stopped in Biloxi, La, Casino (IP) . It was fun, we dry camped for two nights, I won some money. That's why it was fun. We got some points, which got us a Tee shirt and Money to use at the concession stand. Would you believe, they had mostly desserts so we got 7 different desserts. They went great with tea for the next few days.

We went to Gloria Jane's , she took us to a lot of food places so we had a lot of La different kinds of food. We stayed 7 days with her. We couldn't stay any longer we would have gained too much weight.

We left Sunday , Headed west on I-10 , stopped at another Casino , for the night , came out even. We went about 10 miles to another Casino, stayed overnight and then on the road again.

WE arrived at this Coast to Coast Park in Willis TX around 9 am. we will be here until 23rd then move to another Coast park closer to Waco. The 27 we will go in to TX. Samboree in Waco.

We will rush to Vegas, We hope to be there Tues . so we can visit Al's relatives on Wed. and Thurs. we start tour Grand Canyon rafting tour. WE finish the tour Late Sat. and then head to NM for the Samboree. We are going to try to get there Sunday but not sure if we can make it. So it might have to be Monday.

Our trip will include, OK , Hopefully Sunday 10 - Sunday-24. Then on to NC , We hope to be there 27 -May 1. Head to Maine . I hope to get there on the 4, which we should , to my Class reunion.

Then we will be home for the summer. We will be spending more time in Rangeley at the summer camp.

You can see we will be real busy and I probably won't get on this site for awhile.

Hi,
We arrived in Florida on the 25th. My brother picked us up at the airport.
We visited a few days then headed to Brooksville to the FMCA Rally where I sold GS Memberships, ERS and books. IT was again fun seeing old and meeting new friends.
From there we went to Clark Chevrolet in Leesburg to pick up the new car. The mechanic at the Camper's Inn put the wrong base plate on the car so I said I'm going , have it ready next Monday when we come back. Hope fully it will be.

We are at the Florida Samboree. It has been a cold but fun week. We are doing the usual things you do at a Samboree and Al is really getting into this. Boy, are the girls after his hugs.
We will stay with the Staff ,Sunday night and then go pick up the car, get instructions on how to use all the electronics , check to see that the hook up to the coach is working correctly and be on our way to the campground for two weeks.

You can see we are still "On The Road Again"

OMG, I can't believe it's been so long.

We had a great time in Maine over the Holidays.
We had the Ranks Family Christmas, Sat after we arrived.
We went to my son's family, Christmas eve , stayed overnight and had the tree early Christmas morning. We left mid morning.
We went to my brothers home. He was having all his children, grand- children and a couple of great grands , there. I hadn't seen them for quite awhile . Then on to Al's daughters for another Christmas tree and dinner with her in- Laws. A very busy day.

As you may have seen on the news, there was plenty of snow.
Al took me cross country skiing and snow shoeing so I guess I have tried most of the out door sports. What fun and the days were so beautiful . new soft white snow and very quiet . I fell a l ot but Al was there to help me up.

I went to Vegas to the Directors and Sambassador meeting. It was great. They were very enthusiastic, They got lots of positive information. A great productive week for us all.

Al stayed in Maine while I was gone , so he had a good time visiting and being fed by friends. He also did a lot of snow blowing our home and his sisters who is 91 and would do it if Al didn't get there in time.

We are back in Sebring at my brothers. I've been catching up on mail, Jim has been faxing and photocopying for me. This is a great Camping area with all the best of amenities. Thanks Jim and Joyce.

WE left the furnace on low so we are almost out of propane, so we need to get some before we move on to the Brooksville, FMCA, show and the FL. Samboree, Jim is going to see if they will deliver propane here.

I'm hoping to get my Fl. drivers licence, I wasn't able to last year so I will try again. I have a new car coming so I'm doing a lot of work over the phone and trying to get the hitch( Base Plate), arraigned , Dealer is trying to get this all done so I will drive in and right out. I hope it goes as planned. Time will tell.

WE will be at Clerbrook for a couple of week, I hope, then move on to get painting done at Red Bay Alabama then on to our Good Sam assignments.

Our schedule is.
March 31- 4/3- TX 4/7-4/9 our Grand Canyon Rafting trip
4/12 - 4/17 NM 4/21-4/24 OK
4/29- 5/1 NC
Then we will head to Maine.

I Hope let's you now what we have done and what' s ahead for us.

We are making memories. I hope you are also.

Life is short let Family/friends know you love them and enjoy what you do.

Merry Christmas

Hi, We finally got out of Ray Bay Al. We will go back in March for paint work. WE didn't have the time to stay to get painting done.

We went to Dothan, Al. to have lube pump checked. While there Al went to clinic for a bad cold. He got prescription. I started to take care of my self so I wouldn't get it.

It didn't work . WE left Tues for Fl. Arrived at campground around 3. I had called m y Dr.
Wed. am to Dr. for my cold. we did some checking around on the best place to get tow bar base plate and the hook up on the new car when it comes in.

Thurs . I went for Blood work and Bone density. WE met the sales gal we are buying car from and got more information from her. She suggested a RV place in the same town for changeover.

WE went to them told them what we needed so when car comes in we can go there and get the quick change.

Friday we arrived in Sebring at my brothers. Now we start the same schedule we did last year.
To Maine for Christmas. I go the Vegas,in Jan., for the State Director and Sambassador meeting, back to Maine and then Al & I will come back to Fl to my brothers.

I was having a hard time to get on my blog. a survey kept coming up and I couldn't get it opened. I went to my e-mail signature with the blog and tried to get on that way and I couldn't so I have no idea if you guys are getting these messages.

I'm on face book so I don't know if I need to do the blog anymore.

Just a quick note. We are still in Red Bay Alabama.

We are in a Bay and we have a guy who has been fixing things since Fri. 19. They had the long Thanksgiving weekend off.

He is putting carpet down in front under drivers and passenger seats.
A guy just came to check our inverter and Batteries. Oh well I want everything checked.

So that's where we are so wanted you to know WE are not "On the Road Again" yet HA ha

Still Waiting

Nov. 11, 2010 Thursday

Hi, Sorry, I haven't given you any updates.

We are still at Tiffin's Red Bay, Al. campground. We are here to get warranty work done. Our number is 663. We were not able to make an appointment so we came in and we are on a list. WE need more than 3hours, Express service, done.

Lot of them have appointment and other go express. Over 100 a week, those going south for the winter, stop for work to be done , are here.

WE watch them leave and others come in . Last time we checked we were up to # 25 so maybe next week or week after.

WE have been traveling in a 100 mile radius looking for a lighter tow car. WE finally settled on a Chev. LTZ. but they can't find one here YET, for us. WE may have to get it in Florida which was out first thought. Now, we would like to get it get the hitch put on and get it all over with.

We will miss the Florida Samboree for the first time in over 10 years. That will be sad for us because we both love the Samborees. WE hate missing our friends, you don't know when you will see then again. At least Fl has a Feb. Samboree so it won't be so bad.

We are doing well.

Coach 1 year checkup

We are in Red Bay Alabama. We are going to have a few things checked before the 1 year warranty runs out. It looks like, we will be here for 3-4 weeks, from what people are saying. Monday, we will see Norris with our list and he will give us a better estimate.

I got out of Jury Duty, in Illinois, I showed them I filed Federal Taxes in Florida. That helpes us get here faster.

We stopped at Daughters in Illinois for a few days and then hurried here.

We hope to be in Fl. in Nov. but not sure .

We met up with Ed and his friend Peggy at Cracker Barrel in Tupalo Ms. We were there looking at CRV'S. We had a great visit and hope to get with them before we leave area.

All has been great with us and we hope all is well with you.

Trip Home to Maine

When we left Medora ND, We traveled through MN, WI, IL . We thought we would save mileage and time , we went the toll road. It lead us right into Chicago. That was a long inch by inch experience. We will never to that again. When you haven't been to an area and don't know the roads you don't know the traffic, it's hard to make the right travel plans. Just make notes so you don't do it again.

Our driver's side level Jack stared to give us problems. We couldn't find an RV service place that was available, all were two or more weeks behind. The jack company said you are coming right by so stop in. We went to Elkhart, IN. The company looked at what was needed, got the part and got a mechanic . We left the Coach and went to the RV Hall of Fame

This is a tub.

This was an exciting place to see how the RVs, from tent trailers up have improved.

Another place for you to visit. Check, Face book, I can put more pictures there.

After Having the Jack fixed we spent the night in Pa and NH, arriving home, Sunday around Noon.

Al got busy and washed the Coach and the van. I emptied the Coach, started the laundry and defrosted the refrigerator.

Then, I had to tackle, the mail. Three months of credit cards and bank statement among others. That's the only big job about traveling, is the mail when I get home. I hate mail.

Al's daughter had a big crop of peaches, I never knew peaches would grow in Maine. So we made two batches of peach jam. One batch a day.

I haven't done this for many years. SOOOO good.

I'm still trying to catch up with things.

We will start on the coach, Cleaning it and restocking it and get it ready for the trip to Florida.

I guess I'm up to date with you all.

I will try to write weekly if I have any exciting things to tell you about.

Yellowstone, Little Big Horn, Devel's Tower

I can not believe we have been so many places and seen so many beautiful things.

We sure live in a beautiful country.

WE went in the north side of Yellowstone, went down the west side, stopping to see things at every stop.

The hot springs, Old faithful, we waited for her for 1 1/2 hours, it was worth it.

We went out the South end to the Grand Teton's, down to Jackson hole and returned to Yellowstone coming up the East side.

The East side had more waterfalls and the colors, of the mountains, around the falls were beautiful.

If you haven't been to Yellowstone and done this tour , You need too.

We stopped at Little Big Horn, What and interesting place.

Today we stopped at Devil's Tower. Great Indian legends. Indian Maiden running from The Big Bear, ran to a rock askin gto be saved. The rock listened and raised high in the air. The bear clawed the side to get to them, The maidens became a constelation and the Bear one also.

Fun and interesting.

Tonight we are in Medora ND and we are going to an outdoor theater that is suppose to be fantastic. IT was a western History of Dakota,musical.

Today we head for Maine.

Alaska to Glacier National Park

We have been so busy and so I will try to catch up with some of the things we have done.

We left Alaska, after a wonderful , busy, fun and educational time.
We were not able to come through British Columbia as we planed. There was a forest fire and we didn't want to wait around until road opened up. Friend who followed the next day couldn't get through and said the smoke was real bad.

Going through Alberta again was a treat. It was fun seeing the change in land and products they produce. The have oil and gas also so I think they must be a rich Provence.

WE went through Glacier National Park and it was fantastic. Al has been there before and wanted me to see it. I guess I expected to see more Glaciers after being in Alaska , but there were a few. The mountains were fantastic and the waterfalls were great.

I'm so fascinated by the different looks of the mountains. It's like they have their own personality.

WE traveled 8 hours today and we are at a campground near the entrance of Yellowstone in a town called Gardiner, Montana. We will go in tomorrow. We hope to go through to the other in and go to Jackson Hole in the Grant Teton's . WE are doing a lot in a day.

We have seen animals along the way.

Denali National park and Fairbanks AK

Wow! a real busy week.
We hiked about 5 miles into falls and Salmon ladder. Big pools of Salmon resting before climbing the ladder up the river.a Beautiful sight.

We went to the Native Heritage Center in Anchorage. It was so interesting. We walked the grounds and at different stations or communities we were instructed on the life style. These are such proud people and respect and honor the Elders. They "KNOW WHERE THEY COME FROM ". WE saw dance and their games. I know none of us could do their games. The games take Concentration, strength and power. It was a four hour tour.

We went through Wasilla and a little town "Willow" remember this town because some of the Alaskans want to change their Capital from Juneau to Willow. It was defeated because of the cost.

We went on a Denali National Park 8 hour tour. WE saw Golden eagles, Dall sheep, bear, Moose, caribou and most important Mt. McKinley. What a thrill. That night we went for a delicious Salmon bake.

In Fairbanks, we took the Alaska Train 4 hour back to Denali Park and spent the night at Princess Lodge and a dinner theater experience. The pride in song and acting the life of the people living and working here. Another wonderful adventure.

We went to the U of A to the museum. We had lunch and a dollar scoop of ice cream on campus, went to the animal preserve and ended the day on the Discovery 111 tour.
WE started down the river when a small plane pilot came up the river toward us, did a few tricks and came back and talked to us.

Iditarod farm " Susan Butcher's ", 4 times winner . She passed away in 2006 but her husband and daughter carry in the business. He put on a demonstration, very exciting to watch. Later we cruised to Fish camp and this life style was explained to us. On the way back from the ride we stopped at a little village (Tour) were we were split into three groups. We were taken around the little village and again told about hunting, fishing and the duties of the members of the family.

WE went out to the Pipeline. There was a man there that worked on the line and explained a lot ot us. Very interesting.

I think I will be watching more of the History channel after this trip.

It has been a very exciting week.

Russian River to Cooper Landing

Hi, We spent to night in a great primitive campground, Plenty of room. We both camped on the same lot.

The river was in back of us. It was a good walk on the walkway and the stairs getting back were great exercise. The boys went fishing yesterday and Al got a rainbow trout and Don through his back.

Rained all night. Nice sleeping with the sound of rain on the roof.

This morning we decided to go for a walk as far as the walkway would take us, about 1 1/2 miles. The end the Russian River meets the Kenai River ( Beautiful , clear water meeting up with turquoise water). The color is from the glacier runoff.

The salmon are starting to get up to this area. A Lot of fisherman are at this point. On the way back, we talked with a volunteer and he gave the boys some advice , where to go to get rainbow and about a water fall , we should hike to.

As we were walking back some fishermen, in the river, told us a bear was just ahead in the river. Lots of bear in the area. Some people carry guns, rifles and bear spray.

As we turned the bend, I saw this big brown fluffy bear walking toward us. Those behind me said "Bear" and we turned and walked very fast back. When we got to the fisherman , the bear had gotten back in the water and he was hunting for fish. It was fun watching him. Becky got some great pictures. I will get them and post them. It probably won't happen for a while unless we stay here another day.
Don said He wanted to sacrifice me to the bear. I don't think the bear would like me.

We come up to the lodge to do our wireless, nothing available at the campground.

Not sure if we will move on to Anchorage tomorrow or go back a few mile dto do the hike up the falls. Weather will help us decide.

Tok to Homer AK

Hi, I finally have wireless, experiences as a tourist and things to tell you.
We left Whitehorse about 3 PM and Al wanted to get to Alaska so he pushed it. The road was very rough and we couldn't travel very fast, but you know a determined man, when he has a goal, he will do it. We arrived in Tok AK at 11:30, but we lost and hour so in Tok it was 10:30.

We called his nephew, Don, and wouldn't you know he was parked in the row in front of us. Sunday, it rained so, we decided to stay right there. We went out for a late lunch, the visitor center and entertainment at the campground.

The man,entertainment,sang and told stories about the area.

Monday Tok to Anchorage. We made plans to have maintenance on vehicles.

Tuesday, Rain so, great day to get the work done on vehicles, window chip on van and Coach. New back passenger's window installed. Moved Coach to NE Cummings for maintenance on the Coach generator and Coach oil and filters, 10,000 mile .We Went to Walmart for groceries. A full day.

Wednesday, Anchorage to Cooper landing. We saw beautiful Ice Glacier along the way and the scenery was breathtaking. We parked at Princess Lodge & RV Park. Beautiful green river and more mountains. We drove to Seward, visited my niece and made plans for a boat tour.

Thursday, We went back to Seward for the tour and Lunch, all you can eat Salmon, Prime rib and deserts. We saw eagles, Puffin, Mountain goats, sea loins, Ocra whales and a humpback whale. Another great day.

Friday, Coopers Landing to Soldotna. We stopped along the way to a chain saw carving competition. We spent a couple of hours looking around, it was like a small fair, with concessions. We are parked at a Best western RV park. We wanted to stay here and take the truck or van to run around and see things.

WE got settled then drove around. The fishing was wild. Only The Alaskans can net the salmon. They were standing on the river banks and netting them, about 5ft diameter. It was interesting to see the families and talk with them. They are getting their winter supply of fish. In the park they leave early and come back late almost 12 hours. They have freezers buy their trailers for the catch.
Al got his fishing licence so he's ready to go.

Saturday, To Homer and sightseeing along the way. The view to the Spit is so beautiful. Many little speciality shops, all sizes and colors were very interesting.
We had lunch at the "Today's Catch" and followed it with a waffle ice cream cone.

Tiring from all the shopping, we went to the wine tasting, tried some different fruit wines , bought a couple and headed home.

The boys finally made fishing guide contact and made plans for next week.

Another great week . How blessed we are to be able to do this.

SORRY, I noticed the underline words, Becky is trying to find out what this is and why it's happening. Always another challenge LOL.

WE finally arrived in Alaska last night at 10:30 . Alaska is Pacific time, 4 hours earlier that eastern time.

WE spent 7 days in Whitehorse YK, waiting at the Ford garage waiting to us and fix our Fuel pump. When the big day came , They were finally going to get to us, They decided it was too big a job, WE were too big, The gas tank was too big, the jacks had to come off and in other words. They just were not able to handle the job. They should have know earlier.

They found a truck repair place that could take us and have a man work over time Sat.
WE were lucky, with Al rapped the gas tank, I turned the key, The coach started so we were able to drive it to the repair shop.

They started Sat Am and we were ready for the road Sat. around 3. WE headed for Alaska.

Al drove over 8 hours to get here. Now remember 10 :30 here looks like 6 O/c in Maine. Still day light.

We leave tomorrow Not sure which direction. I will try to keep better updates.

I'm on Face book so able to leave a short note there.

A quick note.

We are in Ft. St. John BC.

We are having a great time.

The 3 Samborees were wonderful and what wonderful , people we have met. They were so great to us. They couldn't do enought for us.

It felt funny leaving them and not going on to another Samboree.

WE have seen some beautiful areas. I never thought there would be Prairies up here.

Farming, Oil and gas is seen in Mt, Sk, AB.

WE are are becoming tourist. WE have been to the museums, walked the towns and seen How the Alaska High way was built. 1600 miles in 8 months by American solders, Canadian and civilians . If you get a chance to see how this was done , do it. It's amazing how it was accomplished.

We have seen Dinasuar musieums , Ice Glaciers and we are trying to see everything there is to see.

WE have met some fun people along the way. The people who live in the towns are great and very helpful.

I'm sitting in a visitors center now, doing my mail and a gal is going to try to help me with pictures.

Wow! we have been busy and what a great time.

We had a beautiful ride through Ont. I called them Mountains, I was told "they are hill, You will see mountains later in your travels". So the drive was between hills and water. I never knew Ont. had so many lakes, rivers etc.

We had a great Samboree in Manitoba , met Friends we knew there. Directors from WI. and ND. Very dear friends I hadn't seen since the Directors meeting and they gave me wedding gifts. What a wonderful suprise.

The next week we moved on to Saskatchewan. We stayed two nights at the Directors place. They took us around Saskatoon, very nice place. WE were really busy at their Samboree. Norman , a past Director, did a cooking show and I played a fast on on him. From what people told me "I got him good" "No one puts anything over on him"

We put some US Good Sam items in the Geocashe stash. Which is a very fast growing hobby.
At that Samboree we had Snacks, morning and afternoon, Happy hour. I told them
"I'm glad you didn't weight me before this started and then when I leave, and I would have to pay the difference. I would owe a lot"

We left Sunday around noon and arrived in Moose Jaw SK. at a campground for a few days.
WE played tourists today and went to two tunnel tours. Chinese underground and their sweat shops and the Al Capone organization here. Town is known as little Chicago.

WE will go out to eat tonight with the Directors form Alberta and move out tomorrow to the Alberta Samboree.

hi Just a note. We left Sat. We will arrive at Manitaba Samboree tomorrow.
Beautiful trip, We traveled between mountains and water. I never knew Ont. had so much water.

Last night at a rest area we met a couple from British Columbia . Today at GS campground a couple from NH.

All is well , except van battery problems. I thought we had it all figured out.

Maine To Alaska

Hi It's Fri. May 28, 2010,

We finally made it home. I was a little nervous. I had been summoned for Jury duty. It was delivered to Illinois, but I didn't get the information until I reached Maine. I called and got it rescheduled in Oct.

WE have been busy getting the house set , lawn moved and trim and I had alll the female duties. WE spent last week end up to camp. The kids had done most of the work so alll we had to do was wash windows and put screens in.

WE were busy seeing all the freinds and relatives we could. Tues . we went to friends for a cook out. with three other couples. Wed. we went to sons for dinner. Thurs. at Al's daughters for birthday cake and tonight we go to his other daughter's for dinner.

During the days we have been unloading the coach, What do we really need to take. Then reloading. Shopping. and more visiting.

WE are still having problems with the satalitte one minutes it gets signal another nothing. Oh well.

WE are planning on lots of memories. I think I told you but in case this is some of out plans.
Next Wed. we will be in Manitoba to a Samboree. Second week of June we will be in Saskastchewan to Samboree, Third week in Alberta to a Samboree. Then we will probably spend a week in British Columbia. Al's nephew and wife will be meeting up with us around there.

Then we will head for Alaska to see all we can see. Lots of our friends have given us laces top see , Trips and tours , so we are planning a great time.

I don't know what web service will be or phone service so I'm not planning on using the phone or Internet until we get back in Sept.

Hi, We are still at Tiffin's , We have had a lot of little things done, checked and a lot questions answered. They will take the coach this afternoon and put another under coat on it. We didn't get any paint touch ups done because of time. We will stop back in Oct.

WE need to leave tomorrow for grandson, Derek's, college graduation.
We will leave from there to go to Maine. WE had planned to stay a few days with daughter but last week a sheriff came to her house with a jury duty summons. Son-in-law said I was still in Florida. I don't know what that means.

I haven't received notice about jury duty, I did last year and wasn't available. My mail is forwarded and I won't get it until I get to Maine.

I register my van in IL.but I don't live there. I guess they don't understand. Who knows? I will call them when I get to Maine and get the letter. Any Ideas for me? If so write rvb550@aol.com.

So there isn't much news because we have been here almost 3 weeks. We were standby, you get a number and they work you in. You get to know a lot of people here. We are all waiting for something to be done.

We will be rushing to Maine , get the coach ready for the summer trip, Canada and Alaska. Need to get things done at the house and camp, say HI and By to family.

I wish you all a great summer, fun, safe and healthy. I probably won't write for awhile. I will try when we get to Alaska. I still need help with pictures so I can put some on site.

Back from Aruba and on "The Road Again":

Wow! What a wonderful vacation. What is a vacation to retired people? We are always on vacation. I guess it's doing something different.

Aruba was gorgeous , water all shades of blue and turquoise. I was I could describe it better.
We stayed at the Marriott Surf Club. It's a time share. We were on the 9th floor, beautiful view of the beach and water.
We spend part of the day in the ocean and the rest of the day floating with a tube on 'The Lazy River" We went down the slide tube and under the waterfall. Now, I have to tell you the river was 3-5 ft deep, so no danger . At times, it was like bumper cars with the tubes, but you meet more people that way.

We met lots from Mass, Ct. and Pa. Saw a lot of Boston Red hats.

It was great having Al's daughter's, Donna & Marla , and their husband's, Rob & Ken, with us. We did more because of them. Rob wanted to go on the Banana boat but needed at least 4 people. So, Rob, Ken, AL and I went. Boat was suppose to go about 15 mile per hour, but Rob kept giving him the thumb. so the boat kept going faster. Ken was in front of me and I almost chocked him a couple of times. I was sliding off a few times and the guys kept grabbing me. Imagine at my age having three men grabbing and holding me on. LOL, Lots of fun. Al's foot got too much fun and it became blistered. We used a lot of sun lotion but the salt water and sun did a job on him and places on me. That's the risk you take and it was worth it.

One half day, we went on a Jeep Safari. We road in the national park. You would not believe how rough it was. If we had any bone or joint calcification, it was gone after the ride. We swam and snorkeled in a natural pool on the north, rough side of the island , saw the natural bridge, the fort that they had when they mined the gold and a donkey farm, The donkey's they use to use for travel now with cars they are in a protected farm. There were lots of goats climbing the range. A great day. We were so glad it was half a day and we went in the am.

We walked the beach every day and night, beautiful sunsets. Some evenings we sat on the beach.

The last night the kids treated us to a sunset cruise, 1 1/2 hour cruise. We went to an island for dinner. We were greeted with a glass of Champagne, a wonderful dinner with music, then dancing music. It was a great way to end the vacation.

We are now trying to catch up on things and we will leave Monday. WE will head for Red Bay, Alabama , to the Allegrobay factory.

Hi All,
Where does the time go?

Friends are starting to leave the park. I guess winter is over.

Keeping busy as usual. We are in Clerbrook now , move across the street Monday for a week then back here for a week. Coach stays but we fly to Aruba. We will meet Al's daughter's and husband's. We are excited to be with them for a week.

Yesterday , was my birthday. I had fun all last month getting little things from Al, "It's for your Birthday" . I guess that's over now, until next year. It was fun while it lasted.

The few friends ,left in the park, helped me celebrate. We went for Pizza. My not sound like fun to some of you , but is was great.

It's getting real warm here and we decided, after our walk, this am , we need to go earlier.

I guess that's all the excitement for us.

Back and on the move again

Hi, We are back from a great trip. 106 from the park went on the cruise.
We left here by bus , 5 hours, to Ft. Lauderdale.
Boarded ship, smooth boarding.
It took a while, 8 days, getting use to the ship. Is that in the front or the back, do we go up two flights or down five.
We used the stairs because, we knew we would be eating, a lot, so thought this would help.
We were really good about breakfast and lunch but Dinner was another challenge.
We did it up good at dinner. we usually shared three desserts. Well, it' s better to share than eating all three .

We had two dress up nights , they were fun. Lots of pictures were taken, every where we were and everything we did. We did good we got only one.

Weather was good.

Fun time doing the Panama Canal, WE took a bus to the Pacific coast, got on a tour boat.
We went into the first set of locks 27 feet rise, then into the next, 27 feet rise. out of that set, then a cruise to the next which took us up 31 feet. It was really neat. They are building a new wider canal. They hope to have it done in 2014 .

We followed a ship and there wasn't much room on the sides and we saw paint on the side of the canal as we went through. Tight places.

WE went to Costa Rica but only did the Flee market at the wharf . It was very interesting.
Others took tours but we didn't know about them before and all, we were interested in were taken. Rain forest, coffee and banana plantations.

Night sailing, then arrived in Balize. A cleaner place , fun shopping then a fifteen minute boat ride back to the ship.

Now back to reality, laundry, mail,,computer and having to get meals.
Oh Well, That's the price you have to pay.

Do what you can , when you can, Don't put off. Remember make memories

We had a good time at the FMCA RV Show. We got some new Good Sam members. It wasn't as cold as last year but attendance was down because of the rain. Oh well, You can just do What you can.
We are in Homosassa visiting Bob & Tina for the week.
Marilyn & Jim, from Pumpkin Patch RV. in Bangor Maine are here also.
Jim looked over my TV and receivers, Electronics I just don't get.

We lunch out the other day and breakfast this am. These are just what you do!

WE go to Leesburg to Dr. tomorrow and pick up mail at Clerbrook. I hope some of our friend are there. We haven't seen them for awhile.

I don't know if I told you, The battery in my car problem has been solved. I did have a fuse I could take out. I finally got a few technicians together and one said there must be a fuse. Let's check . No problem since I pull it when I tow.

We will get together with Bob & Tina and go over their Alaska trip, making notes, I have my brothers folder of his trip and I will meet another friend at teh Samboree next week and he is giving us his information.

We leaving in June. or end of May, for Alaska. We will go to the Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta Samboree's on the way.

In March we are going on a Panama cruise with a group from Clerbrook.
So you can see we are "On The Road Again"
