Final year being a student...

2014-12-13T00:08:00.002+00:00

As I am on my final year in university, I have been busy and hectic for the past months. Starting my term with summer project and pre-collection research with has probably taken most of my time up until now. Also planning and writing a dissertation keeping me busy on top of the studio work I'm doing for the pre-collection. My pre-collection is due in next week so I have been busy sewing and toiling over the past month. It is base on Yakuza, the Japanese mafia.
I have also made a official page for my clothing brand ERINERI on Facebook and ordered my business cards. If you're inerested please visit the link to the page and like the page for more updates on my work. Until next time. Have an amazing Christmas and New Year!! ^_^

Assistants on Photoshoots

Second year of being a fashion designer isn't as chilled out as it seem, (well as I thought maybe). With the 6 weeks internship at a fashion label, assistant at photoshoots and two projects after that, I was kept busy the whole time.

Katie Eary

2013-08-08T17:07:00.002+01:00

Katie Eary to me is like an alien name not knowing who she is however her design which is worn by these korean group called BTS and CL from 2ne1 made me look into her background and collection. Both groups suites the outfits really well as it adds hip hop and chic element to their style. It has a minimalistic colours and bold print which screams bold character and identity to its wearer. I personally like Katie's collection as it catches my taste not only in construction of the garments but also with the fabric selections. I think that the clothes are wearable out for casual or occasional events.

The collection is from her SS13 menswear and womenswear collection. You can also check out her online shop for the individual items or if you want to purchase/look at the clothes.

CL wore Katie Eary's Collection for her teaser photos and in her music video for her song Baddest Female.

D.Y.L.M??...

It's been a while, this blog post is going to be about 2NE1's outfit from their first broadcast appearance for their song called Do You Love Me.

Their outfits draw my attention as they rarely wear dresses (apart from Park Bom, pigtail hairdo) on their broadcast appearance. I like the way that the print adds twist of subtle feminine touch to the dress knowing that the prints are robot part/facial feature which are very masculine.

The designer/brand of the dresses that they wore is none other than Ground Zero. Ground Zero brand is established by duo brothers Eri and Philip Chu in 2008. If you want to know more about them check out their website.

The collection in which the dresses were from was inspired by surrounding robot. It brings balance of femininity in armoury, soft silhouette and the fabric selection.

Here are the dresses which was Ground Zero's S/S13 collection She's Electric.

Falling in Love...

2013-08-08T16:10:00.000+01:00

There has been a song that I'm obsessed with lately it's none other than 2NE1's Falling in Love. Not only that this song is catchy and addictive, the outfits that the girls wore in this video are interesting and trendy.

Some of the clothing that they wore in the music video are very well known designers as well as Balmain, Balenciaga, Peter Pilotto and Mary katrantzou. They rocked the bold prints and colours which flows well with the song concept. The whole concept of their song match well with their outfits throughout the music video.

American Apparel and Kesh Collaboration

For their first broadcast appearance with their single Falling in Love they wore Kesh's collaboration with american apparel. The bold block and monochrome print of their outfits adds a simple and very eye-catchy while they are performing. I was very curious on which designer/brand they were wearing this time and found out its a collaboration with Kesh who's London base artist, which also a good friend of them and american apparel. I want a couple of the kesh collection especially the leggings and the t-shirt that sandara is wearing. Their outfits can be found on the American Apparel online website if your interested to purchase a few of them.

I-ce Cream?..

2013-07-20T01:44:00.002+01:00

As it has been tremendously hot these days my siblings and I have been begging our dad to take us to the ice cream farm which is located not far away from where we live but he's been too busy with work. However today my dad asked us if we wanted to go to the ice cream farm, of course we said yes. So off we went to the ice cream farm. It was really nice place to relax and cool down with some freshly made ice creams. The barn converted ice cream place has a cooling and calm atmosphere as it wasn't busy when we arrived. The decoration and interior of the barn suits well with the countryside atmosphere. The splash of colour also helps brighten up the place. I would totally want to go back again and again because of the ice cream and the environment. Here's what the ice cream farm looks like.

Summer Has Begun.

2013-07-11T23:51:00.001+01:00

You know that summer has begun when everyone starts having barbecue, eating ice creams and out in the sun to tan or to have picnic. As most of people in university are now on their summer holidays (my summer holidays has started since last month). I was jealous of the people who are on holiday abroad because of the weather here in England however nowadays the weather have been getting really hot and sunny so I am happy about that. I am also spending my holidays over at my hometown with my family. I will be back in London in two months time, no busy lifestyle for now.

Since I've been back here at my hometown, it has been a very sunny and outrageously hot. I'm very grateful for that because whenever I come over to visit, it always rains or very grey and dull so I can't go out to have fun. Now that the summer has finally started, I can enjoy the nice weather and BBQs. Every summer there is one fruit that I LOVE very much and that is watermelon. I can't explain to you how I love that fruit but I could eat a whole watermelon by myself in a day if I want to. My dad bought two huge watermelons the other day and by the time he finished cutting them in pieces my sister and I already finished the half. It's really cool and refreshing specially in this weather. I haven't been doing anything special for the past week since I am just relaxing and enjoying my time with my family.

Enjoy the sunny weather!! ^_^

Standing still....

2013-06-12T23:34:00.002+01:00

Last week was quite an eventful week for the 3rd year fashion and fashion textile students of my university as they just successfully showcased their collections in the Truman Brewery show. I was part of the backstage dressers for the show and I honestly feel amazed by the creative collections that they have worked hard to put together over their last year of their university. I really like a few of the collections in particular are the menswear collection, as they stood out the most in my opinion and they appealed more to me than the womenswear collection. Unfortunately I didn't get a good photo backstage, if I find the image online I will post it up ASAP. Congratulations again to all of the 3rd year fashion and fashion textile students. Goodluck to all of them for the future.

Boogie on and on....

2013-06-07T22:40:00.002+01:00

I look at the images and think "did I really make those?" I never like what I make or create even when I see the finish product however this time I realise that they are actually not as bad as I think. My friends always tell me that they are amazing which I always think are not true. But anyways those photos are absolutely amazing. I am very satisfied with the outcome of the photos. Great job to my friends who help with hair and makeup, model and photographer. Looking forward to working with them in the future again.

Beauty Haul...

Daisy Marc Jacobs in Sunshine

Nars Bronzer in Laguna

Nars Collaboration Blusher with Pierre Hardy in Boys Don't Cry

Nars Tinted Moisturiser in Medium

Bobbi Brown in Honey #5

Bobbi Brown Gel liner in Black #1

For the last few months I have been eyeing some of this products from Selfridges. I was debating whether to buy them or not if it's worth the money I'm paying. As I was passing through the beauty department of Selfridges, these products were louring me and I decided to get them testes out for me before actually buying them. It was also the perfect timing as some of the makeup products that I have are running out and needing to be replaced. As the makeup artist from the counters tried out the products, they were very convincing and they also advised me other products. Now that I have been using them for a few months I think that they are worth the money I paid because they are long lasting and it doesn't break me out as some of the makeup I've used tend to break me out after using it. I also bought the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume as I fell in love with it while testing out perfumes from a lot of shops. I wasn't sure which one to buy but I decided to purchase the Sunshine Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume in the end as it's going to be perfect for the summer.

Thats all of the products that I have bought for the last months, hopefully I will be able to extend my collections in the future.

Rewind?,,..

2013-06-05T19:42:00.002+01:00

Hey everybody, I have come back after awhile. I have just finish my first year in university. Time flies by so fast, this time last year I was getting ready to start university. Anyhow, I don't have much to say except that I'm really excited for the summer holidays. Finally I get to spend time with my family up north, although I think I'll miss the busy and convenient transport of London. It'll be my time to work and earn some money for the next year of university.

Lately I have been busy house/flat hunting with my two friends to live in next year. We have never thought that it would be that hard to find a flat that all of us like and that would fit into our budget. But anyways we have found one that is exactly how we pictured our flat was going to be and it isn't too far from our university YAY!. We all can't wait to move in and start decorating our new home for the rest of our journey.

A lot of my friends are really obsess with eating food especially asian food and so am I so for the last few months we have been eating out and going out to central London but I couldn't take a lot of photos like before but here are a few from my friends to show you. We also like to spam photo booths or cameras as we are just typical asians (well some are blood related asian but they are more asian than I am).

FOOD!!

My friends also helped me do a photo shoot for the outfits that I have made this year and here's the behind -the-scene photo.

Internship.....

2013-04-30T16:39:00.001+01:00

For the last week I have experience on how to be an intern for somebody. I realised how hard and hectic it is just to be an assistant to somebody I don't know. However it is a good practice and experience for the next year of my course because I will be interning for somebody or for company. As they say, hard work pays off later and it definitely did.

Final outfit in action....

2013-04-23T23:38:00.000+01:00

Busy busy bee for the last month for me because I have been working on my final outfit for my module and my portfolio as my deadline was after my easter holiday. I was happy to see my outfit go down the catwalk because I finally don't have to worry about sewing and patterning. I was relieve that it looked amazing when it went down the catwalk although it was only for a few seconds.

Next project...

2013-02-24T19:13:00.001+00:00

Here's what I'm working on right now after the shirt project that I made last term. This isn't the full outfit but I will be updating the rest soon.

Blossomed flower bud...

2013-01-25T07:15:00.002+00:00

Hi everyone! how have you all been? I know it has been awhile since my last post right? Well that is because I have been so stressed and so into my university projects and stuff. But finally it's the christmas holiday!! ^_^ I can finally relax for a few weeks then the new term begins which sucks.

I have been very busy and still busy for the past month with balancing university and getting use to London lifestyle. I have also got a new blog for my university project/module which only has things that are part of that module nothing more nothing less.

"Love is the only way"

2013-01-25T07:14:00.003+00:00

For my first project in my university course I got to make shirt. It's plain white but structured as it was based on architectures and buildings from the selection that was given to us. I am really satisfied with the final outcome and I am very proud of it considering that I rushed sewing it together.
My shirt was modelled for our group look book and here is the outcome.

Sell it or not...

2012-11-20T21:52:00.003+00:00

So basically I have decided to sell the trouser that I made in college because I fell like it's just a waste not to do anything with them. I have been debating for a long time whether to sell it or not but I have come to a decision of selling them if anyone is interested or if anyone wants me to custom make them one in other colour or fabrics.

Here are the trousers that I want to sell.

It's size 8/10 trouser.

High waisted with lowered crotch and pockets, it has cuffed ankle detail.

White and orange cotton along with lace pocket detail.

Price: £130 minimum £100

If anyone is interested contact me on my email fashionista1407@gmail.com or comment on this post so that I can make arrangements with you.

LONDON-er...

2012-10-23T01:35:00.000+01:00

Hi everyone!! it's been a very long time since I've posted something on my blog. Well, I've been very busy with my university (moving in and settling) and I just have no time to post something on my blog. I hope you all had an amazing summer holidays because I have!! ^_^

I have recently started university life as a student and will continue on for the next 3 years of my life. It was very hard to move away from my family and friends to such a huge and well know city, London, but I am finally slowly settling in with my new student life and environment. I have finally made new friends in university (in my course and my flat mates) and I am doing fine with socialising with them as some of my friends might know that I'm very shy around new faces. ^_^

Here's what I have been up to lately;

Liberty

Me and my friend

me photograaphed by my friend in Selfridges

Inside Liberty (their christmas decorations)

Selfridges at night

That's all for now I'll update again next time xx ^_^

Day 3 in Belgium

2012-08-08T17:43:00.001+01:00

Yesterday we went to Paris to sight see and shop around. As we are staying at my dad friend in Belgium (which is only 2-3 hours away from paris by car) they decided to rent a van and drive to paris. Here are some photos that I took from my iPhone (I can only use my iPhone to upland cos I didn't bring my laptop).

(We were so happy to see Starbucks after hours of walking non-stop from Champ Elysees to Notre Damn)
