I wanted to share a couple of cards we did in our last Wednesday Card Class, the ladies love, love , love the Blended Season Stamp Set that is a special set offered only in August. It can be used year round. The first card was done in Whisper White and Mossy Meadow card stock with Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper. I used Highland Heather & Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color my image. Love the new blends and am so excited that SU has new colors in the Annual & Holiday Catalogs.

The second one was done with the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, Fresh Fig card stock and the Delicate Lace Edgelits. The DSP is in the Annual Catty is beautiful, makes a great statement background for this card. The lace border die was cut on both sides of a piece of Fresh Fig C/S, then mounted to the card with Dimensionals, a simple sentiment stamped in Fresh Fig and topped off with a little sparkle.

One Sheet Wonder!

We all have heard of the One Sheet Wonder, right? I didn't really look at this technique until the other day. I ran across a YouTube Video which led me to this template by Michele Boyer on Craftsy,. But you can find a variety of layouts online. I think it will depend on your paper pattern. This is a great way to get the most for your money. I didn't come up with the same number of cards, but this will make a nice gift pack for a hostess or friend.

My paper was from the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper Pack from the 2017-2018 Catty.

The colors I decided on were Whisper White, Tranquil Tide, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist and I tucked a Night of Navy in there. There is a bit of Basic Black mixed in. You could use only Whisper White for your card bases and that would be fine. You could even use a box of card bases and envelopes from your local craft store if you are just starting out. I did stick with one ink color and that was Tranquil Tide but I took the sentiments from several stamp sets.

Don't forget the Buy 3 get one free on Designer paper that runs until the end of the month.

On to the fun stuff

Another one of our new colors, Petal Pink is used as the base of this Triangle Card, stamp set used was Cake Soiree which is a carryover from the Occasions catalog and the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies. If you are interested in trying your hand at this fun fold card check out the tutorial on SplitCoast Stampers this week.

Love What You Do Stamp set was used for this beautiful card, done in Mint Macaron and featuring the new Share What you Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. We used Blackberry Bliss ink and Stampin Blends to finish this great card. It is a Fancy Flip card that can be used for any occasion.

Happy 4th of July!

I've been off blogging for a while, well life happens and I couldn't dedicate time to my blog. My precious dog Lily had been diagnosed with Cancer a little over a 3 years ago. After extensive surgery and treatment at the U of F School of Veterinary Medicine, in Tallahassee, she was declared cancer free. Well, the ugly head reared up last May and she started treatment at a local Cancer Center after radiation, several rounds of Chemo, we are sad and heartbroken to say that we can't save her. Over the time she has developed lung cancer and it doesn't response to any treatment. The different rounds of Chemo have slowed the growth and she has not presented any symptoms yet, ie coughing loss of appetite, but the nodules in her lung are growing. Now, we are facing the reality of her leaving us. I don't remember a time when her loving eyes didn't greet me each morning or have her waiting for me at the door every time I came home. I know she will be waiting for me over the rainbow bridge and it will be a joyous reunion for us. Please keep her in your prayers and send positive vibes my way.

RemARKably Created Sale-A-Brations 2018 Blog Hop

I am so happy to be part of the RemARKably Created Sale-A-Brations 2018 Blog Hop. I hope you are enjoying your hop and have come from Libby Dison's Blog. For my card I chose the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp set. This set is Stampin' UP!'s new Distinktive stamps that lays down the ink at different ways to give the finished image more depth. My card is done in Always Artichoke and Whisper White with a hint of gold.

I stamped my flower bouquet onto a piece of Vellum Cardstock and colored the back with Stampin' Markers. The color didn't pop until I back the image with a scrap of Whisper White. I fussy cut it out to add to the front of my card.

Adding a frame made from our Gold Foil Paper and die cut with Layering Squares Framelits gave this a little pop of gold and I filled my shaker box with seed beads and sequins from my stash along with gold sequins from our Sequin Trim. I embossed the "Enjoy today" using Gold Embossing Powder directly onto the Whisper White Mat.

I stamped the floral image in Always Artichoke and left the inside blank allowing the card to be customized when I wanted to use it.

Hi all
Today is my Wednesday card group and I wanted to share one of the cards we will be doing. I have to thank Mary Brown for the inspiration. Sorry in advance for the picture quality, my digital camera went to heaven just before I took this picture.

Colors are Cajun Craze for base, Very Vanilla for mat and I used Basic Black, Crushed Curry and Island Indigo for the leaves ( a small gold glimmer leaf is in the center) The scallop edge is done with the doily edge die from Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies. The leaves were done with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies and the front sentiment from Painted Harvest and inside was stamped with a sentiment from Count my Blessings using Basic Black Ink. Talk about using the craft room HA HA. Great layout for any season or reason. Oh I topped it off with a bow made from the Crushed Curry 3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon. Easy Peasy!

Wow, September has been a whirlwind.... This is the height of hurricane season for us here in Florida, after years of dodging the bullet we were hit head on by Irma. The eye passed over us about 9 pm Sunday night. I have never experience a cat 3 hurricane and am not in any hurry to experience another one. Thankfully we had plenty of time to get our shutters up and prepare as best we could. We were very lucky, we have no major damage, all of our structures are still standing no flooding. We lost the most of the on our pool enclose. A small wooden fence blown down, most of our fruit trees were uprooted and some shingles off our roof. We did have to go without power for more than a week but all in all we are no worse for wear. My chickens all survived and their coop withstood the winds. We are almost back to normal (still a little cleaning up to do). But I truly am happy to have time to get back to sharing with all of you.

Spooky Cat Share

I wanted to share one of the cards we did at our Wednesday Get together at Seminole Gardens. The ladies love love love meeting to learn new techniques, get hands on with new products and have fun with friends old and new. This class is open to the public, if you are in the area and interested, contact me for more information.

Spooky Cat........

This card was done using products from the Spooky Night Suite (page 52 - 53) in the holiday Catalog. We used Pumpkin Pie Card stock for the base. Added a little dimension by sponging the front with the Brick mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Pumpkin Pie Ink. We also used Spooky Night Designer Series paper and a touch of Basic Black & Very Vanilla. I must say I used a tad of our Black Glimmer Paper which is retired (my bad). The Cat Punch (which is bundled with Spooky Cat stamp set) and the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch was used to add a bit of interest. We also used Layering Ovals Framelits to make the frame. I added a few our our new Black Rhinestone Jewels. It was a fun simple card and the lay out could be used for a variety of card types.

New technique

The Polished Stone Technique is all over the stamping community. It's easy to do with a WOW factor. The best part is no two projects come out the same. My Wednesday class ladies loved it.

This technique uses Re-Inkers, Glossy Paper, alcohol and a cotton swab. I used the Oh So Eclectic/Eclectic Layer Bundle to finish the card front.

Take the cotton ball and add a small amount of alcohol to center. Add drops of ink, around the center (I used Wisteria Wonder & Lemon Lime Twish) to the cotton ball the lightly daub onto the glossy paper. Take a second cotton ball to daub off any excess ink and let dry. Be careful not to over do since the alcohol will cause the ink to spread and your colors will become muddled.

Trying new things

Happy Sunday, hope you all have had a beautiful weekend. We went up to Punta Gorda, FL yesterday and had a nice morning at the Farmers Market ending up with lunch at Laishley Crab House, looking out over the Marina. I have a quick share for you today.
I love love love trying out new techniques and fancy folds. This is my first attempt (well actually 2nd) to do the Direct to Paper Technique. I got the pattern for this card from Michelle Zindorf who is the Queen of creative paper coloring techniques. Direct to paper is using the ink pad to color your background. My card was done directly from Michelle's tutorial using Weather Together Stamp set and the Umbrella Weather Framelits (sold in a bundle 142319).

Well, off to take care of my chickens. We have a Malaysian Serama rooster named Buddy who is looking for a new home. He was the sole survivor of a racoon attack on my small pen we keep the Serama youngsters in. I hand raised him but we can't keep another Rooster. Lil Bill is the king of the roost and the girls (even the large Hens) look to him. I am hoping someone takes him home soon, so he doesn't have to go to the auction.

Our Wednesday Class

Here is a card we did in our Wednesday class here in Fort Myers. My ladies meet the second & forth Wednesday. We do three cards for $7.50, no other purchase required.

This is done with our Lift Me Up stamp set and the Balloon Adventures Thinlits dies. I have to admit this card is a CASE from Connie Stewart who is one of my Stampin' UP! Heros. She is fabulous. It is done in Navy Smoky Slate and Whisper White. The Designer Paper is from the Sale-A-Bration flyer and was free with a $50 purchase. I love love love this navy paper with the clouds. Super cute!

A couple of shares

Sale-A-Bration is well underway and this first card is one of the free sets you can get with a $50 order.
Hey Chick (143331 Clear mount), (143328 Wood Mount) is the first one I got but I have not used it until now.
I saw a card similar to this online and used what I had on hand to complete it.

The card base is black with teal mat, the top mat is done in Natural White Card Stock (retired). The grass and sky were done with a watercolor pencil & blender pen. The fence is stamped in Early Espresso. The chickens were puffed out by rubbing a stylist around the back to break the fibers. The chickens were colored with our new watercolor pencils.

The second card was done with Hostess set Love You Lots (141801 clear) from the Annual Catalog & can only be purchased with Hostess benefits.

This card is done in Melon Mambo Black & White. The balloons were punched from Pop of Pink Specialty Designers Series Paper. The Ladybugs were stamped on the white paper then again on a scrap of Real Red and fussy cut I used the ribbon die from the Mini Treat bag framelits to add a little fufu used the grey watercolor pencil to add a little shadow to the ladybug. Stamped my sentiment & inside with Melon Mambo. I used the confetti heart punch on the inside along with a sentiment from Suite Sayings set.

Good Morning all!!
I am in love with the Falling in Love Suite from the Occasions Catalog. For today share I used a pleating technique and altough the Designer Paper is from the Blooms & Bliss Suite from the Annual Catalog it still feels right with the Falling in Love Suite. It's great how Stampin' UP! products blend together.

The colors are Sahara Sand, Sweet Sugar Plum and Whisper White. To make the tag I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Die (currently on Backorder). They have become my go to shaped dies. I used the So In Love Stamp Set for the sentiment and stamped in Sweet Sugarplum ink. The pleate uses a 10 x 5 piece of DSP, to get the full instructions contact me and I will sent you a copy.

I for one am looking forward to a better year ahead much less emotional drama and more productivity. I wanted to ask you all to pray for the families of the victims of the Ft Lauderdale shootings, and for all the survivors who endured hours of a very tense situation. My heart goes out to each and every one.

This card is done in Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and Vanilla. I stamped the front tag in Sahara Sand and the inside with Soft Sky and Sahara Sand. The Designer paper is so soft.with colors I decided to pull in the soft sky. Here is the product list for this card.

Quick Share (or two!)

Here are a couple of cards I did for a December class. I sow these online and changed them up a bit.

The first card is in Cherry Cobber & White, accenting in Silver Foil. It uses the Petite Petal Punch & Christmas Greetings Thinlits. I also used a bit of Silver Glitter Ribbon from the Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack.

The second card has a Whisper White (thick) base with Old Olive & Cherry Cobbler card stock and is done with Gold Emboss Powder and the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamp set is Forever Evergreen.
