It feels like I've been waiting forever for a bit of sunshine, and last weekend it finally came out enough for me to take these sunny outfit photos! Who'd have thought I'd be wearing bare legs in March, eh?

This gorgeous dress is from Warehouse's new occasionwear collection. I'm heading to their #UrbanGardenParty event in their Manchester store tomorrow and I can't wait to check out the rest of their new range. They are holding events all round the country so check out the list here to see if there's one near you! I couldn't resist choosing this lace beauty from the new collection; I love that dressed-down dressy look you get when pairing a pretty dress with some leather and this one's perfect for channeling those seventies vibes that I just can't enough of right now! With boots, a fedora and rucksack it's definitely a look that I'll be wearing much more of now the sun's out!

So I think it's pretty safe to say that I am obsessed with all things seventies right now. I've always been a fan of vintage, and while I don't spend quite as much time browsing in charity shops as I used to back in my Uni days, the seventies trend has got me vintage hunting again for the perfect suede/denim/tasselled pieces to add to my wardrobe. This jacket is a pretty good find if I do say so myself - a measly £7 from eBay - and it's perfect for adding a retro vibe to an every day look (I'm thinking Penny Lane in Almost Famous). It's perfect with my new retro-style Raybans too, I can already tell I'll be wearing these all Summer!

Last week I decided to do something about the "no time to blog when I work all week" predicament and took some sneaky snaps in an empty corner of the office when I had a free moment, so there will be some workwear style heading your way for the next few posts! This look was on a day when I was feeling particularly retro-sporty (and wanted to wear my shiny new white leather converse, obv). I haven't worn this bomber jacket for ages, but I thought it was pretty perfect to channel the retro vibe that's flooding into fashion right now. I love this casual look, it's perfect for one of those "don't know what to wear days" and very comfy when you spend as much time running up and down stairs at work as I do!

This post has been a long time coming, but better late than never....right?! It seems like a lifetime sine London Fashion Week already and yet it's only been a few weeks! I went with Alex for the weekend and we had a great (if a bit tiring) time. We had travelled down for work, but we managed to jam-pack as much in as possible - from people-watching at PPQ to street-styling at Somerset House to delicious sushi at Murakami which just so happened to be down the road from our hotel! Not forgetting our actual work which included shooting with the gorgeous Sonya Esman around Somerset House for the day - check out the boohoo video here.

We stayed at The Hub hotel which is a new opening by Premier Inn on St Martin's Lane. It's a cool new-look hotel with a swish compact design and tech-y features like smart TVs in each room which can be controlled by an app on your phone, and touch screen panels to control the lighting and aircon from the comfort of your bed. The beds were super comfy too (even in a single bed I had a great night's sleep every night) and the on-the-go pastry breakfasts and costa coffee on tap were much-needed for a weekend of fashion week madness! By far the best feature though was the location, slap bang next to Trafalgar Square - perfect location for restaurant and bar-hopping in Covent Garden and Leicester Square. All in all, it was a great weekend - I'm looking forward to next season already!

It's getting to that time of year where all the new collections in the shop windows (and all your saved baskets on your favourite online stores) have you dreaming of Summer, but the weather still has you wrapped up in coats, big scarves and probably hidden under an umbrella! I'm trying to slowly make my way into Spring fashion with the occasional floaty garm or pop of colour, so this outfit is a bit of an in-between while my heart says Summer but the sky stays grey!

I decided to add a bit of cheerful colour to my usual all-black look with this beautiful Vila kimono. Floaty chiffon, floral print, bright red and pom pom detailing, I mean what's a girl not to love?! At least I can still pretend the season's changing even when it's staying stubbornly cold!

I never thought I'd love wearing trainers with outfits as much as I do, but these days I just can't get enough! My trainer collection has actually got a little bit out of hand and I just can't seem to resist trying different brands, colours, styles.....the list goes on. That might be about to change though, because I'm pretty sure that this is the perfect pair! They're the Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit in case you're wondering, and they are hands down the comfiest shoes I own!

They also happen to be perfect for adding a sport luxe vibe to any outfit, and I love how they look with this monochrome getup! These leather look leggings are fast becoming a wardrobe staple and as for the rest, would you believe it's from Tesco? I won a blogger comp of theirs a while back and got some vouchers to spend on their site and I was pleasantly surprised to find just how many gorgeous clothes they have in their collection! This coat is definitely a fave, and I love this cute rucksack too. Actually, the only problem with this outfit is that it's s comfy I want to wear it to work every day!

Here is my look from Saturday at LFW. I meant to post this last night, but I was so tired out after a weekend of fashion week madness that I didn't manage it! When I first went out in this outfit, I felt a bit silly being so wrapped up, but when I got to Somerset House it was so chilly that I was actually pretty glad about all my layers! I'm loving the slouchy, over-sized casual vibe at the moment and this sport-luxe style getup was super comfy and fun for a day at fashion week! All the street style around London this weekend got me craving so much fur that I couldn't resist adding this crazy boohoo fur number to my outfit as well, it might be a bit OTT but hey, it is fashion week after all!

So the first day of London Fashion Week is drawing to a close and after a whirlwind couple of days (hosting the boohoo gifting lounge on Thursday and shooting with the gorgeous Sonya Esman today), Alex and I are chilling in our hotel room at the Hub by Premier Inn, eating our body weight in bon bons and giving our feet some much needed rest!

I managed to find the time to snap some cheeky pics of my outfit between running from Somerset House to the office to the PPQ show tonight, and I'm glad I did because I really love this look! I decided to stay as comfy and warm as possible so I wore this giant knit and oversized coat for a throw-on layered vibe. Not gonna lie, my legs did get a bit chilly by the end of the day, but this was the perfect combo of stylish and functional. Now I've just got to plan my outfit for tomorrow!

ghd Aura hairdryer review.

I was lucky enough to be sent the amazing new Aura hairdryer from ghd recently so I thought I'd do a bit of a review post for you all to let you know what I thought of it! Everyone knows ghd for their classic straighteners that pretty much changed the hairstyles of a whole generation and definitely banished my teenage frizz back in the day, but I think it's easy to overlook other products when it comes to hair styling. It was only when I reviewed the previous model, the ghd Air, on my blog a while back that I realised what a difference a good hairdryer can make! I'm pretty sure I remember writing (or at least saying to everyone I know) that it was like using the Porsche of hairdryers compared to my old one (which probably would have been more along the lines of a fiat punto). Well if the ghd Air is the Porsche of hairdryers, the Aura is more like the Ferarri!

It's an upgrade on the older model, with a similar look and power but with a few distinct differences. The Aura is much quiet, with an external power supply built into the cable which means it's much lighter too - no more arm cramps while you're drying long hair! Like the Air model, it is super quick for drying even my long hair and has three heat settings to help reduce any heat damage - I find that the medium setting is perfect for day-to-day use! It also has a cool blast button to help set your style after blow drying. It promises a volumising blow dry with a shiny, frizz-free finish and it definitely doesn't disappoint. It has a built in ioniser which banishes frizz, but the part that I found makes the most difference is the concentrated nozzle which directs the air and makes for a volumised blow dry which is super easy to style. All in all, I'm sold! One again ghd have proved to me that a great hairdryer can make all the difference when it comes to taking care of your hair and styling a great look. If you thought ghd was only good for straighteners, it's definitely time to think again!

So right now my life consists almost completely of black. Not in a depressing way, just that it seems to be the easiest thing to wear when the weather is like this, and when you can't bear to get out of bed and into the cold early enough to put together a more interesting outfit! Call it boring if you like, but I love an all black outfit. Add a slogan tee and a mixture of textures with a leather jacket and you're sorted, particularly if you top the look off with some cute shoes like these pumps from Butterfly Twists! The glimpse of leopard print adds a bit of sass to this monochrome look and goes with the off-duty grunted down vibe.

I love wearing flats on a work day and these roll-up beauties are super comfy and can even be stashed in your bag for an emergency on a night out (or if you're wearing new shoes to work and just know you'll have foot pains before the day is done! - story of my life fyi.) All in all I love this look, try as I might I just can't get bored of black! What do you think?

These days, weekends for me are all about being in my comfies. I've finally managed to accept (after nearly 25 years of obsessively organising weekend activities) that sometimes I just need to chill at the weekend and that being lazy and doing very little is actually better for me than getting that Sunday afternoon guilt when I feel like I should have made more of my time!

At the moment, you'll often find me in joggers/leggings/*insert comfy clothing here* and trainers on a Saturday just mooching about and generally restoring myself after a long week at work. I guess it's a good job that sport luxe is having such a moment so that I can get away with it and still fit in some blog photos of my slouchier looks! I love this outfit - so simple and monochrome (would I have it any other way?!) but with the added chain bag that takes it from making no effort into "effortless sports chic". Perfect for when you're having a lazy day but don't want to leave the house in a onesie, eh?

February is here and what is probably the most equally romantic and dreaded day of the year is fast approaching...Valentine's Day. I have to admit, I've never been a fan of Valentine's. Not for any singleton, "I hate boys" reasons (#singlegalprobs), but because I'm just not into the whole cheesy, loved-upness of it all. To be honest I find the whole thing quite forced, and if I'm going to celebrate being in love, I'd rather do it on a day and in a way that isn't what someone's telling me I should do!

That said, there are some romantic traditions that are never cheesy or over-done, and buying beautiful flowers is one of them. Now that I've moved into my own flat, I don't like to ever be without flowers in at least one room (preferably all of them) and yes, I'll admit that I am often that girl who goes to the shop and buys a bottle of wine and a bunch of flowers for herself (no word of a lie, last weekend I checked out at Aldi on my own with only a bottle of prosecco and a bunch of roses. And yes the cashier did give me a weird look - #yolo).

My current beau has never actually bought me flowers - maybe this blog post will inspire him - so I was very happy when Appleyard offered to send me some of their new Valentine's range to review on my blog. For a girl who's used to Aldi's finest (read: cheapest) blooms, these roses are beyond beautiful. A huge bouquet of gorgeous colours, wrapped perfectly and they lasted for absolutely ages too. I just wish my coffee table could look this pretty all the time! I'll definitely be asking for some if I do decide to celebrate Valentine's this year, or maybe I'll be buying some for myself in retaliation against tradition - I've got my eyes on these beauties next!

Sometimes it's all too easy to get stuck in a style rut. Working in an office full-time and with the weather being what it is at this time of year, doesn't make it particularly easy to experiment much fashion-wise! I'm finding it hard to remember the last time I wasn't wearing jeans a tshirt....! When it gets to the weekend though I like to give myself the time to play around, fulfil all my fashion fancies and make my style less about function and more about trying out something new. I've got a bit of a thing for the seventies right now so when it came to styling up this scarf-print Motel jumpsuit I couldn't resist giving it a boho spin that didn't match up to the chilly weather at all! This outfit will be a dream once the weather gets a little warmer though! I can't wait for it to get a bit sunny to help me get out of my jeans-rut. Bring it on!

I might be hating on the freezing cold weather right now, but that doesn't mean I'm not loving the layering that goes with this time of year. Watches have become a bit of an obsession of mine over the last year. I never used to wear a watch but these days I feel a bit naked if I forget to put mine on! Now we all know I can't resist when it comes to a furry, zany, ridiculously-impractical-for-real-life coat. And this fluffy zebra-coloured beauty is no exception. It taps into my love for all things monochrome and my obsession with faux fur, oh and it keeps me pretty cosy too! What could be better? I paired it with an all black look to let the fur do the talking and I love the bold result. My wardrobe is stubbornly monochrome at the moment during the cold weather, so at least I can keep it interesting by mixing in some crazy texture. This roll-neck jumper dress is the perfect way to wear a dress when it's fuh-reezing out - the long sleeves and turtleneck mean it keeps me warm even with my legs in tights. And I just have to mention these boohoo boots too because I've barely stopped wearing them since I bought them! I normally steer clear of pointed toes because I worry they make my feet look too long, but I can't get enough of this pointy patent croc pair. Black boots are my all-time footwear staple so it's nice to find a pair that still stand out a little (and are comfy enough to wear all week!)

In case you don't know me by now, I can't resist sequins at any time of the year. So when it comes to Christmas I like to make the most of wearing as much sparkle as possible! When F&F asked me to create an outfit from their christmas collection, it was impossible for me to resist these amazing sequinned joggers. They're perfect for adding some quirky sparkle to any outfit, and it turns out they're the perfect pants to wear on Christmas Eve too. For going out, they're fab dressed up like this with some heels and a metallic tee, but for the daytime they look great with a plain tee or jumper (which is what I'm wearing right now in fact!)

Whoever said black and white was boring seriously didn't know what they were talking about - I am all about the monochrome right now. I don't know if it's laziness or the rubbish weather (sorry about the windswept pics btw!) that prompted me to banish colour from my wardrobe but I am actually loving it. This outfit is one of my favourite go-to looks right now. The slogan jumper is spot on, the checked duster coat adds an edge to whatever you throw it over, and a pair of trusty nikes are my footwear of choice at the moment! These Nike Flex's from Get the Label have got to be my comfiest pair yet. Pretty sure they are designed for running, but they sure do make my daily power walk to work a lot quicker (and comfier) than usual!

There's a part of me that just can't resist a ridiculous fashion look from time to time. The rational part of my brain knows that this cardigan is just plain crazy, and looks like I've walked out of Monsters Inc, but the other part of me just loves to try out a ridiculous trend, and this is one that I just couldn't say no to! When I wore this outfit for the first time, I got so many comments about the cardigan it was ridiculous - and I couldn't tell if it was because people actually liked it or if it was because it was too zany to ignore! Well, whatever, I love it! It satisfies all my crazy tendencies and the 90s kid inside me just can't get enough. Plus it's super cosy! After Dark in Manchester

My dress - New Look

So last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to an "After Dark" event at Manchester's Arndale shopping centre. I remember the days (not that long ago) when blogger events in Manchester were virtually unheard of, so it's always nice to be invited along to something on my doorstep! Along with a bunch of other Manchester bloggers, I was given a shopping centre voucher and allocated a retailer (mine was New Look) to choose my perfect party dress from. The dresses were then shortlisted by judges from the MEN and the lovely Victoria from In the Frow - and mine made the final 10! I was very chuffed, especially as even though I loved my dress it only cost a very bargainous £19.99! I don't wear very much blue, but I loved the sparkly midnight colour and the retro 1920s style fit. It was super comfy as well, all in all my perfect party dress - a bit of sparkle but the kind of fit that makes you feel great too!

I had such a fun night and loved checking out all the dresses on show - thanks Manchester Arndale for a fab event!

December is coming, and party season is well and truly upon us. I'm starting to feel really Christmassy - I can't wait to have my first mince pie, put my Christmas decorations up and spend my evenings drinking mulled wine! The only thing I'm not looking forward to quite so much is trying to find a dress for the Christmas 'do. It can be an endless mission, especially if you're like me and work in a big company full of girls - it's almost certain that at least two people will turn up wearing the same dress as each other! (Last year 4 people all turned up in the same Topshop number - *cringe*)

If I had one piece of advice for you when it comes to finding the perfect party dress, it would be this - shop around. And I don't mean spend your entire weekend trawling every shop on the high street, but try and look in places that other people might not think of. George at Asda is a perfect example! Partywear probably wouldn't be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of Asda, but after having a browse online, I realised that they actually have some fab sparkly pieces (at very purse-friendly prices too!) that are perfect for a Christmassy night out.

I picked out my top pieces - some glitzy sequinned numbers, a chic party jumpsuit that's perfect for a twist on your usual party wear, oh and of course a gorgeous fur coat that I just couldn't resist - it's so cold out now that you'll definitely need a coverup to throw on over your outfit!

I'm one of those people who always likes to be planning a holiday. Especially at this time of year when it's grey, drizzling, freezing and just generally a bit depressing, I love to daydream about all the places I could go to and where I should plan next! (Bali is next on my list at the moment, fyi) So when the lovely people at Travelbag challenged me to style my perfect outfit to wear on a cruise (and be in with a chance of winning a £500 cruise voucher) of course I jumped at the chance! I mean who would say no to a cruise around the Caribbean eh?

The good thing about shopping for holidays in winter is that there are always some fab holiday-ready pieces in the sales, so I managed to style up these two outfits for day and night with my £150 budget. A maxi dress is perfect for day-to-night dressing because you can chuck it on over a bikini during the day to channel boho chic, but easily dress it up with some statement bling and wedge sandals for a dinner in the evening!
