My first impression was the site looks professional, clean and simple to use.  The instructions are easy to read and understand.  Joining was easy and painless.  While they do offer two upgrade options, they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out - no long and complicated streams of text to read through!  I was able to work out what to do after only a few minutes and able to get up and running in less than five minutes.  Once you are inside, you create links and ads.

You simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into “Traffic Python” links.  Then you create ads for anything you want to promote using the Traffic Python Ad Generator, which is very easy to use.  You can create as many links and as many ads as you like.  And they are organized in a logical way - links are displayed in the order you create them but also your five most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference.  Also, since the link generator is the tool you’ll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login, so it’s very quick - no searching around for the right page.

After you’ve created at least one link and one ad you can start to generate traffic.  Just use and promote the new Traffic Python link instead of the original source link you had.  Every time the Traffic Python link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom.  It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Traffic Python.  So if anyone clicks the Traffic Python image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral.  It’s a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Traffic Python links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members’ links get clicked.  So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally–meaning as you make referrals into Traffic Python (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Traffic Python image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks.  And this works up to five levels deep.  So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Traffic Python also.

I didn’t get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I’ve only just started using it properly) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated–my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed.  Traffic Python even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays.  That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all–downline emailing.  You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Traffic Python really shines.  They took time to make the emailing often enough that it’s valuable as a user, but no so often that it’s a burden to your downline.  But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Traffic Python.  It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises.  Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase website visitors and get affordable or free online advertising.

1.  In these days of recession, I don’t have any worries about being laid off.  In fact, there is much evidence to show that online businesses do well during periods of uncertainty (see my earlier post).

2.  My hours are flexible.  I decide when I work and for how long.  I can fit work around my life rather than the other way around!  Of course, that does not mean I take lots of days off (in fact, I probably work harder than I ever did in a job!) - but I don’t have to miss out on family events or other domestic happenings.  I can always make up the time later or over the weekend if I want to.

3.  I don’t miss out being with my family and my dog!  My mother is 85, and while she is still very active, it feels good to be around and know I’m here if she needs me.  For many people, spending more time with their family is a very big reason for working at home.

4.  I can decide when to go on holiday.  In the past I worked in the education industry, which meant I could only take my vacation at certain times of the year - when all the resorts were crowded!  Now, I can take a break whenever I want to, without having to get permission months ahead.

5.  My potential income is limitless.  OK, it might take some time to make a really good profit, but when I was in a job I always knew that I could never earn more than a certain amount.  Having an online business means that the sky is the limit!

6.  I don’t have to miss my favourite sporting events!  Right now I am listening to the Ashes (that’s cricket to those of you who don’t know!) live on my radio, and last week I was able to watch Wimbledon while working on my laptop.  If you’re a big sports fan, whether it’s football, baseball or tennis, you can keep up with whatever is going on while you are working - and no-one is going to tell you off!

7.  Last, but by no means least, I can work on something that I enjoy, and choose the products and services I sell rather than being limited to an employer’s decisions about what I do.

These are just my personal reasons why self employment is a good idea and there are many other.

Of course, it is not all wine and roses.  You have to work hard, and your income may be low at first, so you might have to make cut-backs or find another source of income to start with, but although it has been tough at times, I have never regretted becoming self employed for one moment.  If you are considering self employment, and are not afraid of hard work and have a certain amount of patience, then I would recommend it.  Don’t let anyone put you off - you may regret it later on when you find yourself laid off yet again!

When the recession started, my theory was that online businesses would increase.  I reckoned that people who feel that their jobs might be threatened would look at ways to earn money elsewhere.  With the internet increasing in popularity every day, and social networking programs such as Twitter and Facebook being used more and more as marketing tools, it is now even easier to set up a home business for anyone who owns a computer.

I cannot really say whether this is the case based on my own experience as over the last few months I have been focusing on other business areas and my online business has not had the amount of attention it needs to really increase very rapidly.

Of course, it probably depends on what kind of product or service you are selling.  I would imagine that the “make money” industry may be seriously considered by many people - but perhaps when it comes to spending money (which is always necessary whatever kind of business you have!) - people may be too cautious. 

Therefore it may be that more people are joining free programs but not upgrading, hoping that they will be able to earn money without spending anything.  This may create disillusionment, and will not help their upline, who most likely will not be paid for free downlines.

However, it may be that these people will start spending money when things start to get better and we can see signs of recovery. 

Perhaps it may be more beneficial to sell low-cost items that are of benefit to people in a recession.  E-books and CDs offering help with debt or how to create wealth may be the best kind of product to be selling on your website.

We all need to be a bit “savvy” and do our research in what’s selling, and what people need at this time, and then provide our own unique offering.

Here are a few ideas that can refresh your spirits and get you back in the mood again:

1.  Take a break.  Sometimes we need to get out of a rut.  We tend to carry on doing the same things every day and lose our sense of why we started.  Taking a break for a few days can clear away the cobwebs and allows your brain to come up with new ideas.

2.  Watch your favourite sport.  At this time of year I am glued to the TV because I am a real Wimbledon fan, and of course this year we have high hopes for Andy Murray.  Although I do not watch a lot of sport (tennis, Olympics and occasionally cricket are the only ones I really follow), I always find it very motivating.

I highly recommend that you listen to what your favourite sportsman or woman has to say about their attitudes towards winning and how they motivate themselves.  If we take on board these attitudes for our business, we can really achieve something.  What do I learn from the top tennis players? - Focus, drive, passion and a determination not to allow mistakes to break my game.

3.  Get back in touch with why you started your business in the first place.  Start a visualisation board and fill it with pictures of all the things you will have or do when you are successful - your favourite car, a country house, a yacht - or perhaps the happy faces of those people you would like to help.

4.  Have a plan!  This is probably the most important thing you need to do in any business, and often neglected.  Be absolutely sure of where you are going and how you are getting there.  When will you get there?  What do you need to do?

This plan does not have to remain the same.  If you find it’s not working it needs reviewing and revising.  I would recommend that you review your plan at least once a month.

5.  Set regular goals.  Have mini-goals within your plan that are achievable and measurable within a given time.  Having something specific to aim for is very motivating and once you have achieved one or two of these your confidence will increase, and you will then be more motivated to reach your bigger goals.

So, if you are feeling demotivated and considering giving up - it might just be that all you need is one or more of the little boosts I have suggested above.  You will always need business motivation ideas now and then, so don’t make how you feel an excuse to give up.  Just find a way to get re-started!
