The trigger kit is designed to mount with and clear an external oil pump or dry sump pump using our bracket and Aviaid oil pump.

Crank signal converter explanation.

This innovative little piggy back computer is for use with the ROSS crank trigger/sensor kit on Nissan engines, either the RB series 6 cylinder engines made famous in the GTR Skyline vehicles or the SR20 4 cylinder engines.

This box allows the ROSS system to run with their hall effect sensor pickup connected directly to a Nissan onboard computer by converting the signal to a Nissan pattern.

So when considering what is required to run the ROSS system there are 2 systems we offer.

1. If you are running an after market stand alone ECU, you will need the crank trigger wheel with crank sensor mount with sensor and the cam sensor kit that replaces the factory CAS.

2. If you are using a Factory computer or any of the after market add on systems designed to work with the factory ECU then you will need our Crank kit only and our signal converter box.

This kit uses a single stage AVIAID pump, rated at 16 US G.P.M. mounted on a patent ROSS RACING bracket that incorporates the alternator on a NISSAN SKYLINE, the kit uses a 8 mm HTD profile tooth design similar to Nissan timing belts.

The question is:- Why should I use an external pump on my expensive SKYLINE engine.

The answer :- Logical reasoning tells us when the evidence shows that the oil pump in these engines is definitely lacking in stamina, one must move away from the style of pump that continues to fail and use a more reliable alternative that won’t fail and break my engine.

RACING has developed a drive system that takes all the worry out of driving essential engine components and the fear of power steering belts coming off and the old problem of standard oil pump failure causing super-expensive engine repair bills.

This picture shows our set of ROSS RACING HTD toothed pulleys mounted to a common drive on the front of the Harmonic balancer. The belt is retained using a taper sided washer on the front of the drive.

Both the external oil pump and the power steering pump are running at ½ engine speed, this is especially helpful in the prevention of the belts flying off the engine.

By the way this is the same drive ratio as the cam shafts.

Also shown in the picture is our Crank trigger and CAS replacement Housing for use with the kit when using our hall sensors.

This is a single stage external oil pump with integral hex drive to a power steering pump.

This picture shows it mounted to a ROSS RACING bracket and fitted to a Nissan RB26 in place of the air conditioner pump.

What are the benefits.

Peaceful sleep knowing that your oil pump isn’t going to blow up without warning and secondly the power steering pump drives off the same belt, a toothed belt, and for Nissan owners this is a relief as soon as you start to make power of comes the belt.

NISSAN RB CRANK TRIGGER KIT
#part number 306202-79

The clearance between the trigger wheel and the crank angle sensor should be between 1.02mm – 2.03mmThis height can be adjusted by inserting 6mm flat washers between the sump rail and the crank angle sensor mount.You will need to use 3x 6mm flat washers that are provided in the kit under the heads of the cam angle sensor retaining bolts.You will notice that Top Dead Centre (TDC) is located on the spike that has been coloured white – you will also see a line on the spike to indicate this.

Installation of Cam sensor cover.

1 Remove std CAS from the engine then remove the top cam belt cover.

2 Remove the alloy mounting bracket and remove the 4 cam pulley mounting bolts and plate.

3 Install cam sensor drive shaft with the longer M7 bolts supplied.

4 Replace alloy bracket and belt cover

5 Mount new cam sensor cover with 3 M6 cap screws supplied.

THIS IS OUR COMPLETE CAM AND CRANK TRIGGER SET UP FOR THE GTR OR TWIN CAM NISSAN

Featured in this picture from left to right is, metaljacket balancer with trigger wheel mounted and an oil pump drive and gear, the crank sensor mount with sensor inserted .

This billet bracket mounts under the oil pump on the pan rail. The shaft standing up is the cam sensor trigger and the cam sensor mount is seen mounted to the timing cover.

This complete kit is a simple mount up job and a small amount of electrical work. It is designed to run with most aftermarket ECUs.

When fitted and tuned you will notice an immediate change in the engine performance and sound.

There is no need for the engine tuner the retard the timing because of the scatter in the maps from the vibration in the old belt and CAS set up. Our kit is stable and your dyno graph line will be straight from idle, all the way to the rev limiter.
