Haslingden Road reopened, services returning to normal

Disruption to services 244 & 464

Haslingden Road in Rawtenstall has been closed due to a road traffic accident.

Buses on service 244 & 464 are operating via the Edenfield by-pass between Rawtenstall & Road End. This is a lengthy diversion but there is no other suitable alternative.

Services are therefore operating extremely late and this is having a knock-on effect on other services as traffic moves onto other roads to avoid the accident.

Diversion - Service 486 at Ainsworth, 15th & 16th March 2012

On Thursday & Friday, 15th & 16th March 2012, Bradley Fold Road will be closed at Ainsworth.

Unfortunately, there is no suitable alternative route through Ainsworth and therefore on these dates, service 486 will be unable to serve Ainsworth village.

Buses towards Radcliffe will divert from Starling (Rose & Crown) via Starling Road to Bury & Bolton Road (Ainsworth Arms) and then along Bury & Bolton Road / Bury New Road to Bradley Fold Road to resume the normal route. Similarly, buses travelling towards Bury will operate the same diversion route in reverse.

Schoolday buses 799, 809, 811, 885 & 896 will also be similarly affected.

Stand Changes at Bury Interchange, commencing Sunday 26 February 2012

From Sunday 26 February, all Sunday journeys on services 473 and 483
will move from Stands P and S and will now depart from Stand R.

From Monday 27 February, all Monday to Saturday evening journeys on
service 473 will move from Stand S and will now depart from Stand R.

Temporary bus stops to replace Valley Centre stops from Monday 13th February 2012

The demolition of The Valley Centre in Rawtenstall is scheduled to start on Monday 13th February 2012.

During the demolition period, buses will be unable to use the Valley Centre bus stops on Bank Street.

Temporary stops have been put in place as follows:

Services 273, 473, 483 towards Rawtenstall Bus Station, Bury & Bolton
These services will use a temporary stop placed higher up Bank Street, near to the junction with Kay Street.

Services 273, 473 and 483 towards Newchurch, Water & Burnley
These services will use a temporary stop on Kay Street at the rear of the Police Station.
