The little one came up with the name. This funky "thing" (we haven't figured out what animal it is) with the bright blue eyes is named Furonda. D remembered that Furonda of America's Next Top Model was judged as having far set eyes ... just like our Furonda!

Personalized pillow sham

See that teensy red splotch in the corner? I embroidered that! The 9 year-old wrote it up, I traced it and embroidered it. Voila, instant personalized pillow, given to my grandfather this Christmas!

I revisited my crocheting skills (yep, it's like riding a bike) and came out with this set of four yummy-colored coasters. I gave them to my aunt as a gift this Christmas '07.

This was our first sewing project (wit the 9-year-old!). A cute red-cheeked apple made of canvas. The cheeks were cut out from petals of an old silk flower lying around the house.

Uncommon dishes

With more eating coming around for the holiday season, I've been drooling over how pretty these dishes look, and how I really, really, really need to start thinking about beefing up my own collection of dishes.
