Most victims were immigrant Jewish women sixteen to twenty-three. Many could not escape the burning building because managers had locked the doors to the stairwells and exits. People jumped from the eighth, ninth, and tenth floors. The fire led to legislation requiring improved safety standards and spured the growth of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, which fought sweatshop conditions. The factory was located 29 Washington Place, it is a National Historic and New York City landmark.

Get Poster here>>>

150 Years Later Founding of One Country Breakup (almost) of Another.

150 Years Later -
Founding of One Country Breakup (almost) of Another.
United States Civil War started April 2, 1861
Unification of Italy a country March 17, 1861, for the first time since 476 AD

Two posters
Italy - 1861>>
Civil War - 1861 >>
