Today saw the second stop of the Freeride World Tour in Chamonix France and it was another great day for French Roxy snowboarder Margot Rozies who is having a great first season on the freeride world tour. To follow up her second place finish in Revelstoke at the start of the month, Margot rode into another very solid second place finish in the ladies snowboard event behind tour leader Maria Debari from the USA.

To complete the same podium order as in Canada, Shannan Yates of the USA finished third. Although the event has been on hold for a few days due to heavy snow fall and avalanche danger, the conditions in Chamonix today were very good, with some aggressive riding going on in both the mens and ladies ski and snowboard competitions.

Margot now sits in second place in the Freeride World Tour standings with another two events to go for the ladies and will next compete in Roldal in Norway at the end of February. Go Margot!!

its been emotional days the last two weeks. I am really sad Sarah passed away last thursday! She was my inspiration for so many years! When I met her at my first X Games in Tignes we shared a room and I met the most amazing and charming girl! Rest in peace Sarah! My thoughts are with you and your husband and your whole family and close friends. I ride for you Sarah!!

and its been an incredible winter so far! Its unbelievable how much snow we get all the time... Yesterday we had half a meter in downtown Innsbruck! We had to leave our house already with chains on the car wheels. That means Pow Pow Pow. I had a run like in a dream or like it must be in heaven for Sarah now(maybe its all perfect for her now ?:-) ) No tracks, steep forest and me riding down with speed... but in slow motion kind off! Today, January 19, 2012, our community lost an icon. Sarah Burke, freeskiing pioneer, six-time X Games gold medalist and beloved wife, daughter, aunt and friend passed away. Sarah was truly a legendary athlete, role model and an inspiration. She was everything so many of us aspire to be. Sarah brought worldwide recognition and validation to the sport she so loved. Every ski athlete chosen to represent his or her country at the 2014 Sochi Olympics will feel her influence. Without her, the sport of freeskiing would not be included.

Sarah is a pioneer of her generation. Her life and legacy embody the defining spirit of action sports; a movement of individuals driven to innovate, master and explore the frontier of physical possibility. Sarah’s love of skiing took her life to amazing places. Her accomplishments on skis continue to inspire girls everywhere to believe in themselves and follow their hearts. Her passing is not a cause to pack up our skis, but rather a reason to step-in and ski for Sarah and the dreams that inspired her star to shine.
Sarah did so much for females and winter sports during her time with us; now we are asking for your help.

Sarah leaves behind her beloved husband Rory, loving parents Jan and Gordon and her supportive sister Anna. I have never seen a polar light in my life and i soooo hoped for one up north in Akureyri. Yesterday was completely miserable. Everything turned into ICE hard as rock, we had to take down one inrun because it was in the kindergarden and while we were taking it down we saw the LIGHT. We drove up the mountains and saw something which is really hard to describe and i will for sure never forget!

Basically every day i go out here in Iceland im just impresed and amazed by this country!

So im really gonna hope for some snow here and no more ice that we can finally ride something...

Sending vibrant thoughts and love to fellow Roxy team mate and professional skier Sarah Burke. She had a hard fall during a ski event in Park City, Utah a couple of days ago and she is now in a coma. Sarah's condition is critical at the moment, but I believe that she will come back to this life stronger than before! I believe in Sarah because she is strong and confident, she is kind and generous and she makes people around her smile! You are a true inspiration and I'm a big fan of your work!

It was a great day for our Norweigan Roxy skier Tiril Sjastad who skied in to a very well deserved 2nd spot in the ski halfpipe at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria today. This is an especailly great result for Tiril as she usually specializes in the slopestyle event and has not skied so much pipe. Great Job Tiril! Maria Delfina from Italy aslo had a great day at the Youth Olympics with a very credible 6th place in the snowboard halfpipe event.

Yesterday in Andorra. everyday is a sunny day and nothing falls from the sky, snow is hard but slowly getting the feeling!

Hello again :)

it has been over 10days im in Iceland.Yesterday we left Reykjavik and drove 5hours up north to Akureyri. We hoped for more snow here but lot of got melted in pas few days while it rained. We cruised around town today and prepare 3spots for tomorrow so i ll let you know how did it go :)
