Here in Utah today Brighton mountain opens for the first time- unfortunately I can’t make it, but I know Erin Comstock is up there dusting the rust off her edges on their jib line. Hopefully some of you readers are somewhere in the world where you too can enjoy a little early season shredding, even if it means hiking up a local sledding hill. But if you’re still waiting for the snow to start falling, here’s a new video to keep you fired up. The video features a trip we took in March with Snowbaorder Magazine (see the October issue) to a remote area of Northern California that had never been ridden before. Be sure to watch it to the very end, there’s a surprise waiting…
Until next time!
To do it here, in front of my friends and family and in good waves at Lobitos is a dream come true. Viva Peru!”

The final was a battle between Sofia and the two time event winner, Stephanie Gilmore. After a horrible crash the day before, Sofia fought back in the final to take the win. Sofia now sits at third on the 2009 ASP Women’s World Tour ratings

Mirabelle was next best of the Roxy girls on the day with a career best result of 5th place and Paulina followed close on her heals with a notable 7th place. Mirabelle has gone from strength to strength this last season and it is great to see all her hard work paying off. The Future camp went really well with the riders all pushing one another and building some strong foundations for the coming months in the form of new tricks and renewed team spirit. Roxy new addition Enni Rukajarvi from Finland definitely made a great first impression with her smooth skills in the pipe and on the kickers. The Roxy Team welcomes Enni and looks forward to many happy days shredding with her.

Enni in action in the pipe.

As well as ruling on the snow the Roxy Team were to be found representing all over town no matter the occasion.
Hi everybody! This is Amber Stackhouse from the snowboard team. I woke up this morning to fresh snow in the mountains here in Salt Lake City, so if that’s any indication, it looks like it’s going to be a good snow season. While I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer weather just yet, I’m definitely looking forward to playing on my snowboard soon.

So in honor of winter’s early arrival, here’s a teaser for the new Refreshments snow team video series we have. Refreshments will be dropping all season long starting in November, featuring the likes of Torah Bright, Erin Comstock, myself, and Kjersti Buaas, as well a new batch of rising Roxy stars.

I helped make the videos, so if you have any questions or comments I can personally answer them for you.

Enjoy the show!

As well as learning new skills on the mountain the girls got to grips with a bit of media training and goal setting as well as plenty of dryland training and yoga. The girls based themselves in the Hotel Dom as usual and, as ever were made to feel extremely welcome there. They made the most of the great park and pipe in Saas Fee as well as the skate park and playing fields.

Britte making use of the skate park in Saas Fee.

The weather was not epic all week however and we lost a couple of days due to wind. We made the most of the lovely scenery though and took a treck up to the Hannegg side of the valley.
