End Of Course Competition Entry

I just got all of my wisdom teeth out two days ago so I've had to take a few days off and I finally have time to post my entry for our end of course competition. The theme that we were given was 'Great Works Of Art' and we had a time limit of three hours for the hair and makeup.

I found out on the last day at my course that I came in 1st place!

IMATS Sydney 2011

Here is my long overdue IMATS post!

I'm nearly finished my course so I will have more time to start posting again, and I've got a ton I need to post about!

I had a fantastic time in Sydney and met lots of great people, I just wish I could have been there for longer. I can't wait for next year!

I'm quite sick at the moment so I haven't written much in this post. I still need to swatch everything that I bought and I'll do that as soon as I can, I haven't even had time to try everything out yet!

I am so excited to be attending IMATS Sydney again this year! I'll only be in Sydney for one and a half days unfortunately because I don't want to miss much class time so it will be a whirlwind trip!

The International Make-Up Artist Trade Show (IMATS) is set to return for an even bigger year when it opens its doors in September.

Cosmetics company founder Napoleon Perdis will share the latest trends and backstage techniques with show visitors as an IMATS keynote speaker. Other prominent speakers will include fashion make-up veteran author Rae Morris and Oscar-winning artist Tami Lane.

Perdis is a backstage regular at New York and Australian Fashion Weeks; he runs six Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academies in Australia and one in Los Angeles. In addition to Perdis’ address, the Napoleon Perdis Creative and Makeup Academy teams will lead make-up demonstrations throughout the weekend. Rae Morris, the make-up director of Australia’s Fashion Week, is a four-time winner of Australia’s Makeup Artist of the Year award and the author of Makeup: The Ultimate Guide. Tami Lane, who won an Oscar for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, worked on the Lord of the Rings films and is currently heading the make-up department on Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit.

IMATS will also feature educational seminars hosted by M.A.C., ACMUSE, Royal & Langnickel Brush and more and booths with more than 100 international vendors, including cosmetic giant Inglot and returning favorites Royal & Langnickel Brush, SMiiNK, Naked Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever and Serge Louis Alvarez. LimeLily Cosmetics, the brainchild of artist Nicola Richards, will exhibit for the first time at IMATS, where they will showcase their environmentally friendly, paraben-free line. Thousands of visitors, both trade and consumer, are expected through the doors for the event.

New Hair And A FOTD

I have been dying my hair bright colors since I was 12 but about a year and a half ago I promised myself (and my mother) that I wouldn't have any bright colors in my hair anymore I guess in an effort to be taken more seriously. Well I finally accepted that I had to do something to get my hair healthier because of the damage that has been caused from being so blonde for many years, and I'm not really a natural color type of person (as you may have realized) so I took the plunge last Friday and dyed my hair raspberry!

I'm so excited about it that I had to share it with you all and I hope you love it as much as I do.

First of all I'm sorry I haven't been able to post much! I've been so busy lately and I'm sure you all will understand. Time is just flying by at the moment and so many exciting things have been happening! I got to do my first photoshoot a few weeks ago and I'm lucky enough to be getting an amazing opportunity to be helping out at a big event (not sure if I can say what it is yet) so it's all going to be pretty full on.

Sugarpill Sweetheart Palette

I used this palette pretty consistently in June and I always seem to reach for it when I want to do a bright look.

MAC Omega Eyeshadow

This is a definite must-have for me. I've used it as a contour, on my eyebrows and just as a normal eyeshadow. I'm onto my third one!

MAC Vanilla Eyeshadow

I use this as a highlight nearly everyday, its the absolute perfect color for me.

MAC Stark Naked Beauty Powder Blush

I bought this when it was released after seeing so many people rave about it, I wasn't so sure about it when I saw it in person but I bought it anyway because I had a voucher that I needed to use that day. I ended up loving it and I've used it nearly every day in June.

MAC Snob Lipstick

I used to use this constantly but I totally forgot about it until recently, and then I fell in love with it all over again.

MAC Heartless Lipstick (Disney Venomous Villains)

My favorite red lipstick used to be MAC Seriously Rich Mattene but I used that up and now this has taken over! My lips are nearly always dry so a lipstick that doesn't dry my lips out is really important for me and this one is perfect.

MAC Pink Fish Tinted Lip Conditioner (Hello Kitty)

When the MAC Hello Kitty Collection was released I bought nearly all of the lip products except for this. I saw a horrible swatch of it on Specktra that totally turned me off but I ended up buying it a few months later. About a year ago I thought I had lost it but I found it again in an old bag and now I always have it with me.

Monthly favorites are one of my favorite blog posts to read and videos to watch so I thought I would start my own for May. I haven't really been wearing much make up lately but doing this post has motivated me to get back into it!

MAC Free To Be Eyeshadow

When I go through a coral phase (this seems to happen quite often) this is the first product I reach for. I was crazy about this color when I first saw swatches of it when it was coming out with the Give Me Liberty Of London Collection, but I didn't end up picking it up until a few months later when I was in Sydney. I am really glad that I did because it's been one of my favorite eyeshadows ever since I bought it.

Urban Decay White Rabbit (Polyester Bride) Eyeshadow

I used this eyeshadow a ridiculous amount last month. The glitter in it is so chunky and ends up all over my face but I was really trying to use something from my Alice In Wonderland palette because I have barely touched it ever since I got it!

MAC Azalea Blossom Blush Ombre

A few weeks ago I was going through my blushes and trying to use something that I haven't used in a while so I grabbed this, and honestly I haven't really put it back down!

When I was thinking about what products I have been using a lot lately I realized that I use this as a base nearly every time I wear eyeshadow. It's kind of become automatic that I reach for this without even thinking about it.

NYX Nude Pink Lipliner

I've been using this pretty much every time that I wear something on my lips lately, it's my favorite nude lip liner at the moment.

I think that this has to be my HG MLBB (my lips but better) lipstick. It's always guaranteed to be in my makeup bag so I have it with me wherever I go.

OPI Teenage Dream

I wasn't planning on picking anything up from the OPI Katy Perry Collection apart from the Black Shatter but when I saw this video I just had to get Teenage Dream! I'm so in love with this, its my perfect color and the pictures do not do it justice. Unfortunately it needs a few coats to be opaque but that's a sacrifice that I am willing to make! (Used 4 coats)

OPI Black Shatter

I first tried a crackle nail polish when I was about 11 or 12 but when I applied it and it cracked it just completely fell off, so I was excited when I heard that OPI were bringing out one and I picked it up as soon as I could. I've been wearing this over a variety of different nail polishes for a few months now and I've never used a nail polish so often in my life! It went a bit thick and goopy after a while and when I used it last week I didn't close the top properly and it seems to have dried up a bit. But I will definitely pick up another one. (Applied over 2 coats of Inglot #944 Nail Enamel)

China Glaze Broken Hearted Crackle Glaze

This arrived in my letterbox earlier this week (it was delayed for a few weeks which killed me because I have no patience!) and I am so in love! Pink is one of my favorite colors so when I finally got this I instantly dropped what I was doing and put this on my nails. I'll probably be wearing this constantly for the next wee while! (Applied over 3 coats of China Glaze Spontaneous Nail Lacquer)

Simple Look using KKcenterhk eyelashes

Today I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to try out some eyelashes from KKcenterhk. As soon as they arrived I had to play with them which is why my makeup isn't anything exciting in this post. They were a bit fuller and longer than what I was expecting but they are perfect for over the top looks!

I was so surprised at the quality of these eyelashes, the band wasn't thick which made them easy to apply and the hair was really soft.

There is one missing because I couldn't resist getting a closer look before taking these pictures.

The eyelashes are held in the box by a bit of extra thread and stickers on each side, you just trim the extra thread before you use them.

Overall I am absolutely in love with these eyelashes and I can't wait to try out some more!

So this look wouldn't be neutral for most people but anyway I wore this to go to my friend's flat warming. I wanted to go with something not too bright but too neutral either. I've been obsessed with Urban Decay's White Rabbit Eyeshadow lately for some reason as you may have been able to tell since I've used it in my last 2 posts!

Hey everyone!

First of all I want to apologize for not posting much anymore. I've been going through a lot of personal and family issues the main one being that my Grandma was diagnosed with advanced cancer and isn't expected to live much longer. I have been rarely wearing much make up lately but I'm really trying to get back into the swing of things because it really helps to get my mind off everything. I hope you all will understand :)

I haven't been feeling like going out much but on Saturday I made myself go to the Roller Derby because I knew I would enjoy it and it was a great distraction so this is the look I wore for it. I literally had no time to get ready so I just chucked something together really quick.
