The Status tab of Notebook Hardware Control displays the processor speed control, clock and load, followed by the installed physical memory, available memory and system power on time. You can enable processor and battery monitoring from the Monitoring tab.

Similarly, using the CPU, Hardware and Battery tabs, you can alter your hardware settings for better system performance. For example, you can reduce the processor power state from your battery settings to reduce system heat up (as explained in our guide here).

Furthermore, you can enable temperature view in Fahrenheit, check for NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) updates via the internet, and auto-run NHC with system start up.

NHC also has a paid version (starting price €15). The NHC profile based paid version allows you to change all NHC settings by adding, removing and editing profiles.

The main interface has File, Edit, Open, Save as, Clear Screen, Color Picker and Paper Color menus at the top, the 2-D Toolbar, 3-D Toolbar and Pen Size drop down menu appears in the left, while the Color Picker and Mix toolbars appear to the right side of the interface. The toolbar at the bottom allows you to draw images using text written in different font styles and sizes, with effects such as Bold, Italic andUnderline.

The 2-D Toolbar has options to select different drawing tools, such as box, circle, pencil, pen, brush, full, etc, while the 3-D Toolbar allows you to create images such as explosion, ovals, squares and circles. TheRandom Mix box at the right allows you to apply different effects to the image such as abstract circles, squares and lines.

If you do not have a Reddit account, then this app is certainly not for you. However, it is possible to sign up for Reddit with ease via InstantReddit. As soon as you log in using your account credentials, the app will take you straight to your Messages. It is possible to read through all the cached messages, and also reply to them. The real fun starts in my reddits section, which is further divided into two menus, favoritesand subscribed. In any of the listed reddits, you can go its contents by entering it, and tapping the topic caption. To comment on anything, or to view feedback from other users, tap the comments bubble next to each reddit.

Search is also supported in the app, and it looks through the whole database of Reddit to find the topic you were looking for. For each post, there is the option to vote on it, or share it with anyone via email. You can view the post’s source link by opening it in Internet Explorer.

For a free app, InstantReddit definitely has the potential of becoming your most used app if you are a Reddit addict.

We take a look at the WP7 version of Mobizy, as it is pretty similar to other platform versions. Before you can start using Mobizy, you will have to sign up for its services. Signing up is free, just like the app itself. Once you sign up through the app, you will be sent an email to your provided address, and you have to click the activation link in it. At first, there will just be the Account option on the app’s homepage, but you will have to populate this area later. There are two main areas of Mobizy; Users and Services. Users can list all of the employees working on a particular project. It also allows the addition of short descriptions of each person’s responsibilities and the position they hold in the organization.

In Services, you can add Sales, Social and Time Clock. The app can also keep track of all the orders you have to fulfill, or have delivered. The app also keeps order date, cost and quantity saved for later viewing. Every business is bound to have a few meetings once in a while. You can plan these discussions and other business obligations by logging them under Events. If you want to fine-tune things a bit more, there is the Time Clock menu for that. Based on how many orders you have fulfilled, and other factors, Mobizy will create detailed pie-chart graphs for you. The Social section of Mobizy will let you interact with other users you have added to your profile.

The best thing about the app is its ability to integrate with mailing services. You can mail anything to your friends and colleagues, be it client info, graphed reports, and order lists. Subscribing to all the services in Mobizy is free for now, but that might change soon enough once it leaves its beta testing phase.

The main interface allows you to add wallpapers to the application, preview selected wallpapers and select wallpaper itself. The Auto Change in random order option allows you to randomly change wallpapers included in the list.

The Preferences tab allows you to define global hot key for changing wallpaper and set scheduling parameters, like Auto change at startup and Change interval.

At the bottom, the Display Parameters tab under Preferences enables you to share the image between multiple monitors, export image parameters to clients, choose the resizing method and apply special effects on the background. The Network tab allows you to synchronize your wallpaper by entering theServer and Port.

The application lacks the option to set separate wallpapers if you have multiple monitors connected to your computer. Otherwise, it’s a very useful cross-platform wallpaper manager. It works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Linux.
