Now supporters can "donate" their profile photo to help spread the word about the importance of electing Roy Blunt to the United States Senate.

With the new profile badge, Roy Blunt's volunteer force, known as the Blunt Brigade, can change their profile picture to a "digital yard sign" on their Twitter, Facebook, BluntBrigade.com and other social networking sites.

Hannibal - Roy Blunt has earned the endorsement of the Hannibal Courier-Post for his ability to use "common sense in guiding our economic path out of these tough economic times."

The newspaper praised Roy Blunt for his plan to reduce the size of government: "Blunt has provided Missouri citizens with a logical plan to reduce federal expenditures and work to bring balance back into the budget while reducing the intrusiveness of government in our lives."

In their editorial endorsement, the Hannibal Courier-Post stated that Roy "recognizes that the most important task ahead is to defend this country against its enemies. Second on his list is to create private sector jobs."

On spending, the newspaper wrote that Roy "proposes to end the reckless growth of the federal government, noting that the Democratic contingency hasn’t even proposed a budget, let alone implemented ways to balance a budget."

Springfield - Roy Blunt has earned the endorsement of his hometown newspaper, the Springfield News-Leader, which urged its readers to: "Send Roy Blunt to the U.S. Senate. He's one of us."

The newspaper praised Roy Blunt for his willingness to listen, stating: "In a Capitol filled with big egos, Blunt's best trait will serve him well in the Senate. He listens to people; he tries to respond."

In their editorial endorsement, the Springfield News-Leader stated that Roy "has mastered the details of many issues, moving seamlessly into a discussion of budgets, taxes, health care, immigration and foreign affairs."

Of Roy's opponent, the liberal Democrat Robin Carnahan, the newspaper said "contrary to his opponent's opinion, we think his record makes him deserving of a promotion."

The Springfield News-Leader drew attention to Roy's determination to get things done and his willingness to reach across the aisle when seeking what's best for Missouri.

Columbia - Columbia Daily Tribune publisher Hank Waters endorsed Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate, noting his "good record of effective service in Congress." Of Roy's opponent, Robin Carnahan, the newspaper said that "enough difference between them exists to make for a fair choice."

The Columbia Daily Tribune drew attention to Roy's positions on a multitude of issues, including extending the existing tax cuts for all taxpayers, a position Missouri job creators support. "Blunt follows the Republican line in favor of continuing the Bush cuts due to expire this year," Waters wrote in the editorial.

On health care: "Blunt has said he wants to repeal the plan and substitute different approaches he has laid out."

On cap and trade, a costly new energy tax, the newspaper said: "Blunt opposes the cap-and-trade bill…says we can support alternative energy sources without increasing the cost of coal, our primary source."

"I believe Roy Blunt, as senator, will go with this flow quite well and should be elected," the editorial stated.

'Students for Roy Blunt' Coalition Launched

St. Louis – Missouri students concerned about the future of our country and an economy that is still shedding jobs today announced a new coalition to support Roy Blunt for the United States Senate.

Roy Blunt announced that Anna Osterlind, University of Missouri, is chairing "Students for Roy Blunt."

"As someone who is getting ready to graduate and enter the job market, I know Roy will keep a focus on getting our economy back on track,” said Anna Osterlind Chair of Students for Blunt. “Roy understands the tough decisions that need to be made to put the economy back on track and restore opportunities for my generation."

"The failing job-killing policies of the Obama Administration are leaving behind a new generation of young people who are looking for jobs out of college and in the careers of their choosing," said Roy Blunt. "I’m honored to have the support of students across Missouri, these young people, like most Missourians, are asking 'where are the private sector jobs?' "My jobs plan incorporates the ideas and solutions I've received from job creators across the state. This plan will help create real, sustainable, private sector jobs for young people and working families."

In addition to Anna Osterlind, the Students for Roy Blunt has chairs from over 35 universities and colleges across Missouri.

Over the last year, Blunt has held over 800 events, visited all of the state's 114 counties and traveled tens of thousands of grassroots miles in his U.S. Senate campaign.

A fifth-generation Missourian, Blunt was born in a doctor's office and grew up on working dairy farms. He attended public schools in Southwest Missouri and was the first person in his family to graduate from college. Roy chose classroom teaching as his career, starting with a job teaching high school history. In public service, he was elected by the people three times, serving 12 years as Greene County Clerk and Chief Election Official and twice as Missouri Secretary of State.

After serving as Missouri's Secretary of State, Roy returned to education, serving four years as president of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar. Missourians in the 7th Congressional District have chosen him to represent them in the U.S.House.

St. Louis - The Roy Blunt campaign today launched a new web video entitled "Momentum".

This new web video highlights what Republicans and Democrats and political pundits are saying about the U.S. Senate race between Roy Blunt and liberal Democrat Robin Carnahan.

Roy Blunt has led Robin Carnahan in every public poll in 2010. Democrat polls, media-sponsored polls, and even a Carnahan internal poll have shown Roy Blunt leading the race. Earlier this week, Robin Carnahan was chided for releasing an internal poll that not only showed Roy Blunt ahead, but showed that 53 percent of Missourians disapprove of her.

In recent weeks, Democrats have been particularly brutal in their criticism of Robin Carnahan and her campaign:

Former Missouri Governor Bob Holden challenged Carnahan's claims that she is political outsider, and said that Carnahan's chance of victory was becoming slimmer by the day.

A Missouri Democrat consultant told CQ-Roll Call that Carnahan overestimated the effectiveness of her unrelenting negative attacks.

On FOX News Sunday, on Oct, 17, Democrat U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill refused to support Carnahan's last hope: a late-hour, "Hail Mary pass" type comeback in her faltering effort against Roy Blunt. When asked for a Democrat surprise success in U.S. Senate races across the country ... McCaskill picked Kentucky over Missouri.

"Roy Blunt has run an issues-focused campaign and continues to talk about the issues Missourians care about, led by jobs and economic recovery," said Roy Blunt spokesperson Rich Chrismer. Washington - The Washington Missourian endorsed Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate, calling Roy "the most qualified to serve Missourians and our country." The endorsement editorial stated: "We trust Roy Blunt will do the right things for the general welfare of the majority of Missourians. His record has earned our respect and trust."

The newspaper highlighted Blunt's humble beginnings, "Coming from a rural background and serving as a county clerk in one of Missouri's largest counties, Blunt knows and understands local government."

On the issues, the newspaper said Roy's "position on the major issues of today -the economy and jobs, immigration, health care, the military and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, spending by the federal government and our debt - is in step with the majority of conservative-minded Missourians."

St. Louis – Even Claire McCaskill is pulling the “comeback” rug out from under liberal Senate hopeful Robin Carnahan in Missouri. McCaskill’s startling refusal to support Carnahan’s last hope, a late-hour comeback in her faltering effort against Roy Blunt, came on Fox News Sunday, on October 17.

McCaskill said she hasn’t given up on Carnahan, although many in the political community have written off Carnahan … and McCaskill then picked Kentucky, not Missouri, for McCaskill’s predicted Democrat surprise success.

“Robin Carnahan can’t get Missouri’s ranking elected Democrat to predict a late-game surge," said Roy Blunt spokesman Rich Chrismer. "How depressing this must be for Robin Carnahan and her campaign.
