Roy Blunt's campaign continues to engage his massive grassroots network, today launching a new social media profile badge for Missourians to show their support for Roy Blunt on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks like BluntBrigade.com

Now supporters can "donate" their profile photo to help spread the word about the importance of electing Roy Blunt to the United States Senate.

With the new profile badge, Roy Blunt's volunteer force, known as the Blunt Brigade, can change their profile picture to a "digital yard sign" on their Twitter, Facebook, BluntBrigade.com and other social networking sites.

"Our campaign has focused on connecting with Missourians and having a conversation with them everywhere - in their communities, in all 114 counties and on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and BluntBrigade.com," said Tim O'Toole, a spokesperson for Roy Blunt's campaign. "Our new profile badge gives our supporters a new digital get-out-the-vote tool to let the people in their social networks know they are supporting Roy Blunt and to remind them to vote on November 2."

Tens of thousands of Missourians have connected with Roy Blunt at RoyBlunt.com, Facebook, Twitter and BluntBrigade.com. Tens of thousands more are receiving e-mails, text messages (available by texting the word Jobs to 25868) and other direct communication from the campaign.

Hannibal Courier-Post Endorses Roy Blunt:

Roy Blunt has earned the endorsement of the Hannibal Courier-Post for his ability to use "common sense in guiding our economic path out of these tough economic times."

The newspaper praised Roy Blunt for his plan to reduce the size of government: "Blunt has provided Missouri citizens with a logical plan to reduce federal expenditures and work to bring balance back into the budget while reducing the intrusiveness of government in our lives."

In their editorial endorsement, the Hannibal Courier-Post stated that Roy "recognizes that the most important task ahead is to defend this country against its enemies. Second on his list is to create private sector jobs."

On spending, the newspaper wrote that Roy "proposes to end the reckless growth of the federal government, noting that the Democratic contingency hasn’t even proposed a budget, let alone implemented ways to balance a budget."

On his plan to move Missouri forward, the newspaper stated: "We agree with Blunt’s plan to stop government’s growth, therefore we recommend a vote for Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate."

Roy Blunt has earned the endorsement of his hometown newspaper, the Springfield News-Leader, which urged its readers to: "Send Roy Blunt to the U.S. Senate. He's one of us."

The newspaper praised Roy Blunt for his willingness to listen, stating: "In a Capitol filled with big egos, Blunt's best trait will serve him well in the Senate. He listens to people; he tries to respond."

In their editorial endorsement, the Springfield News-Leader stated that Roy "has mastered the details of many issues, moving seamlessly into a discussion of budgets, taxes, health care, immigration and foreign affairs."

Of Roy's opponent, the liberal Democrat Robin Carnahan, the newspaper said "contrary to his opponent's opinion, we think his record makes him deserving of a promotion."

The Springfield News-Leader drew attention to Roy's determination to get things done and his willingness to reach across the aisle when seeking what's best for Missouri.

On spending, the newspaper wrote that Roy Blunt maintains he will work "for the lowest possible federal budget."

On his record of service to Missouri, the newspaper stated: "Roy Blunt is a friend to Springfield and to southwest Missouri. The people of this area -- as well as the entire state -- would be well served to have him in the United States Senate."

Washington - The Washington Missourian endorsed Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate, calling Roy "the most qualified to serve Missourians and our country." The endorsement editorial stated: "We trust Roy Blunt will do the right things for the general welfare of the majority of Missourians. His record has earned our respect and trust."

The newspaper highlighted Blunt's humble beginnings, "Coming from a rural background and serving as a county clerk in one of Missouri's largest counties, Blunt knows and understands local government."

On the issues, the newspaper said Roy's "position on the major issues of today -the economy and jobs, immigration, health care, the military and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, spending by the federal government and our debt - is in step with the majority of conservative-minded Missourians."

The Washington Missourian drew attention to Roy's tireless travels around the state, "Blunt during his campaign has visited every county in Missouri and knows firsthand what Missourians' concerns are. They are his concerns."

Regarding the discredited and dirty political attacks on Roy the Washington Missourian reiterated, "We do not deem it necessary to answer the political smear campaign that has been leveled at him."

Joplin - The Joplin Globe endorsed Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate, stating Roy has "earned our endorsement" and his "depth of experience is much more applicable and attractive" than his liberal opponent Robin Carnahan.
