With all but four players playing their final game as a Royal, they made sure that their time as Royals ended on a positive note by winning the first game 8-4 and by tying the final game 5-5.
In the first game the Royals scored four runs in the top of the second to take a 4-0 lead after two innings. Arsene Pinguelo started for the Royals and continued his excellent pitching of late striking out 4 Blue Jays in his two scoreless innings. In his last 15 innings as a Royal Pinguelo allowed only two earned runs while striking out 13. J.D. Bryce was excellent over the next two innings keeping the Niagara team scoreless on one a single and two Ks. In the top of the fifth inning the Royals increased their lead to 5-0. In the top of the sixth the Royals scored three more runs to take a 8-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. Joe Browne, who had relieved Bryce to start the fifth, pitched two innings and after a clean fifth, allowed 4 runs, 2 unearned, in the bottom of the sixth. With the score 8-4, Paul Anderson, who was outstanding during the American tour, pitched the seventh inning and secured the Royals victory keeping the Blue Jays to only a single.
The offense was lead by Logan Karse and Joshua Lee-Him. Karse, who with his hitting, speed and excellent defense was a big reason for the Royals success in the USA, continued to lead with a double, two singles, a run scored and an rbi. Lee-Him responded to facing his old team with two singles, a run and two rbi. Jeff Slasor, who this season has played second base, short stop and third base, played short stop this game and as usual did a good job defensibly and added a single, a run and drove in a run. Jonathan Del Pozo play at third continued to impress and he contributed offensively with a single and scoring a run. Andrew Bolton and Andrew Forrester contributed with a single each. Daniel Campos added a single and drove in a run.
With only three pitchers available for the second game and pitchers scheduled to go no more than two innings, the second game lasted 6 innings and ended in a 5-5 draw.
Dolan Dunigan who had lead the Royals with his bat in the USA got the start on the mound for the Royals final game of the season. After allowing two runs in the first inning, Dunigan came back strong in the second allowing only a walk and the Royals scored a run in the second and another in the third to tie the game at 2. Alex Mann took over in the third for Dunigan and after striking out two in a scoreless third inning, allowed three runs, 2 earned, in the fourth inning. The Royals scored two runs in the fourth and trailed 5-4 after four. The final two innings for the Royals were pitched by Kyle Flemington who did not allow a hit in his final appearance as a Royal. In the fifth inning the Royals tied the game on a triple by Logan Karse who drove in Daryl Taube. Lee-Him continued to swing a hot bat with a double, a single, a run and an rbi. Del Pozo and Forrester had singles. Matthew McCue contributed with a single and an rbi.
After the game, players, coaches, family members and the Royals President, Mel Swinton and V.P., Mike Swinton got together for some pizza and to congratulate all the players going off to universities and colleges in the USA and Canada.
Kyle Flemington was awarded the MEL AWARD. The award is named after the Royals President, Mel Swinton and it comes with a $1,000 cheque from the Royals organization. Flemington was a very deserving winner. After not beeing able to pitch for all of last year due to major shoulder surgery. Kyle worked and continues to work extremely hard and as a result he continues to improve which has earned him a scholarship at an American college.
Congratulations to all the Royals players moving on to colleges and universities all over North America. I am sure you will make us proud. Play hard and study even harder but never forget to have fun.

The Royals started well and took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first when Jeff Slasor and Daniel Campos both score after having singled. In the second inning the Royals took a 3-0 lead on a rbi double by Kaleb Leff that scored Logan Karse who had gotten on base on an error by the American short stop. Unfortunately, the Royals would only manage 2 more singles the rest of the way by Andrew Bolton and Matthew McCue.
For the second time in as many playoff games, Arsene Pinguelo got the starting assignment for the Canadian team. Pinguelo was excellent through the first 3 innings keeping the Roosters off the score sheet while allowing only two hits and striking out three and walking one. In the bottom of the 4th Pinguelo had trouble finding the strike zone and along with a throwing error on a pick off attempt found himself with the bases loaded and no outs. The fourth batter of the inning flied out to center field making the score 3-1. After the next hitter walked Pinguelo was relieved by J.D. Bryce who after walking the first player he faced to make the score 3-2 induced a 1-2-3 double play ball to get out of the inning with the 3-2 lead.
The score stayed 3-2 until the top of the seventh when the Royals took a 4-2 lead on a unearned run scored by Dolan Dunigan who had lead off the inning with a walk.
In the bottom of the seventh with the score at 4-3 and one out the Roosters hit a walk off grand slam home run to give them a 7-4 victory.
It was a heart breaking way to end a trip in which the Royals played very well compiling a .722 winning percentage winning 13 out of 18 games against very good American teams.
Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff for a job well done.

After the ten inning 1-0 victory last night the Royals returned to the John Overton High School baseball field this morning to face two top rated teams, Hit by Hit from Tennessee and Team Cincinnati 18.
In the 9AM game the Royals faced the Hit By Hit team, one of the top rated teams in the tournament and fell behind 3-0 after one inning as the Americans hit a double, a single and walked twice to score the three runs against Royal starter J.D. Bryce. Alex Mann replaced Bryce in the second inning and pitched well the rest of the game keeping his team in the game. Over his five innings pitched, Mann allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, 3 walks and 2 Ks.
After the Hit By Hit team made it 4-0 in the 3rd by hitting a home run, the Royals finally got back in the game in the fourth when Jeff Slasor lead off the inning with a double and was driven in by Daniel Campos's single. Daryl Taube followed Campos with a single of his own to drive in Campos to make the score 4-2. In the bottom of the sixth the team from Tennessee scored two more runs to make the score 6-2. In the top of the seventh Dolan Dunigan continued to swing a hot stick and started the inning with a triple and scored on Logan Karse's sacrifice fly to center field but that would be all for the Royals in this game.
Thirty minutes after their first game the Royals faced Team Cincinnati 18 and got off to a great start scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Unfortunately, the lead was short lived as Royal starter, Dolan Dunigan, had troubles finding the strike zone and was charged with 5 runs in a third of an inning before being relieved by Brendan Ellingham. Brendan pitched 2 2/3 innings allowing one unearned run on 3 hits, 1 walk and 1 K.
In the third inning the Royals scored four more runs to take a 8-6 lead and added another in the 4th to take a 9-6 lead going into what would be the last inning, and what inning it would be. In the top of the fifth the Royals scored 6 runs to take a 15-6 lead as they sent 12 players to the plate highlighted by a home run by Andrew Forester.
Joe Browne, who had replaced Ellingham in the 4th and had kept the Americans off the score board, started the fifth inning but could not get any of the 5 hitters he faced out and was replaced by Kyle Flemington. The first hitter Flemington faced hit a home run and with two outs, runners on second and third and the score 15-14 for the Royals, Joshua Lee-Him relieved Flemington and with one pitch got a ground ball to second and the final out of the game.
The Royals got singles from Slasor, Campos, Taube, McCue, Leff and Shaver. Bolton chipped in with 2 singles, Lee-Him had a single and a double and Del Pozo added two doubles.
The afternoon was very hot and as a result one of the umpires had to leave the game and Royals player Daryl Taube needed medical assistance. The local Fox News reporter filmed the end of the game and after the game spoke to Dolan Dunigan about playing in the heat.
The Royals will now play in the playoff round starting on Friday.

The game was played at the John Overton High School in Nashville. The Royals once again played excellent defense and Paul Anderson and Brendan Ellingham were outstanding on the mound. Paul Anderson started and went 8 plus scoreless innings allowing only 3 hits, 3 walks and striking out 3. Anderson started the ninth but after allowing a single to the first Bull Dog and walking the next two, was relieved by Brendan Ellingham. Ellingham got the first batter to pop to second, striked out the second hitter he faced and the next American hitter lined out to first base to extend the game to a 10th inning.
Andrew Bolton lead off the top of the 10th inning with a walk. The next two Royals popped out and with two outs Kaleb Leff walked moving Bolton to second. Jeff Slasor stepped up to the plate next and hit a line drive single to score Bolton and give the Canadians the 1-0 lead. The next Royal flied out to end the inning.
In the bottom of the 10th Ellingham striked out the first batter, got the next to fly out to right field and the final out was a pop up to Adam Shaver at first base.
Besides Slasor's rbi single the Royals had six more singles, one each from Campos, Taube, Del Pozo and Lee-Him and two singles from Dolan Dunigan.
The starting assignment for this all or nothing game went to right handed pitcher Arsene Pinguelo and he responded with one of his best performances as a Royal. Pinguelo went 6 2/3 innings allowing only one run on 6 hits, all singles, 1 walk and 4 Ks. Arsene, who had thrown 104 pitches was relieved by Brendan Ellingham. After one pitch by Ellingham the Northern Stars were called for an illigal substitution and the Roylas were out of the inning with the game tied at one. The Royals had taken a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning when Del Pozo scored on a single by Logan Karse. The American team tied the game in the top of the 5th when with two outs the Lafayette batter hit an infield hit and then stole second before being driven in by a pop up that fell out of reach of the short stop and center fielder.
Ellingham retired the Northern Stars in order in the top of the 8th inning and in the bottom of the 8th after the American pitcher had retired the first two Royals, Kaleb Leff hit the ball to third base who threw the ball over the first baseman's head and two more throwing errors later Kaleb came all the way around to score the winning run and take the Royals to the Championship game. The Royals had a total of 7 singles with one each from Dunigan, Slasor, Del Pozo, Karse, Bolton, Leff and McCue.
After the eight inning semi-final in 43 degree celcius heat the Canadian team had 25 minutes to rest before facing the Indians from Mundelein, Illinois who had been resting since the end of their semi-final game, nearly 3 hours before.
Playing their sixth game in 3 very hot days the Royals were forced to use pitchers that were not rested and for the first time in the tournament the Royals pitching was not on, that combined with an excellent pitching performance by the Indians pitcher, resulted in a second place finish in the tournment. The Royals managed 6 hits in the game. Slasor, Dunigan, Del Pozo and Karse all had singles. McCue singled twice. Brendan Ellingham who had finished the previous game started the final game and was followed by Dunigan, Mann and Browne.
Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff on a great tournament.
Ohio turned out to be a great place for the Royals organization as the 16U team won the 16U tournament. The Royals were the only Canadian teams in the Midwest Elite Tournament and won the 16U tournament and finished second in the senior group. The Royals 17U ended the tournament with a 2-2 record.

In the four games the Canadian team outscored their opponents 37-6. They will now play tomorrow a semi-final game at 2:15PM at Toledo University and hopefully a championship game at 4:30PM at the same location.
The Royals started their first game at 9AM at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Their opponents were the Scrappers 17U from South Bend, Indiana. The Indiana team would take a 1-0 lead after the first inning but that would be all the runs they would get as J.D. Bryce shout them out the rest of the way. Bryce pitched all 5 innings allowing the single run on 6 hits, 2 walks and 4 Ks.
Logan Karse was the offensive star of the game as he hit a 3 run home run to left field in the 3rd inning after he had singled in the second. Karse also scored 3 runs. Kaleb Leff hit his second home run of the tour in the 4th inning to give the Royals a 6-1 lead. Andrew Bolton chipped in with 2 singles. Dolan Dunigan and Jonathan Del Pozo both had singles. Dunigan added a run and Del Pozo scored 3 runs. The Royals continued to play excellent defense highlighted by Karse throwing out a runner at home from right field.
In the afternoon the Oakville team moved back to the University of Toledo to face the Davison Cardinals from Davison, MI. The Royals were determined to finish first in the group round and started the game with 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back. They added 2 more in the third and 3 more in the top of the fifth before the Cardinals scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth. The game was stopped after 5 due to the 8 run differential.
Logan Karse continued to be the hotest hitter on the team with an inside the park home run, 2 singles and 4 rbi. Dolan Dunigan also swung a hot bat with a triple, a single, 2 runs scored and 2 rbi. Daniel Campos added a double, a single, scored a run and had an rbi. Del Pozo hit a double, scored a run and drove in a run. Leff and Shaver had a single each. Daryl Taube walked 3 times and scored 3 times.
Alex Mann started for the Canadians and pitched 4 scoreless innings allowing only 2 hits while walking 2 and striking out four. Kyle Flemington pitched the fifth inning and allowed a run on 2 hits.
The Royals 18U team performance at the Midwest Elite Tournament to date has been outstanding as they have mercied every team they have met so far and now move to the championship round as the number 1 seed.

The Royals beat The Northern Stars from Lafayette, Indiana 8-0 in the first game and defeated the Ohio Sharks from Reynoldsburg, Ohio 11-4 in the second game.
Dolan Dunigan started the first game and pitched a complete game shout out allowing 6 hits over the 6 innings pitched along with 4 walks and 5 Ks.
The Royals belted out 10 timely hits on their way to scoring 8 runs. The offence was lead by Jeff Slasor and Daryl Taube. Slasor hit 3 singles, scored 2 runs and had 3 rbi. Taube had 2 doubles and 3 rbi. Matthew McCue added 2 singles and scored a run. Daniel Campos had a single, scored a run and added an rbi. Andrew Bolton also had a single. The game was stopped with 2 outs in the bottom of the sixth inning due to the 8 run lead by the Royals.
In the second game the Ohio Sharks took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and had a 3-1 lead at the end of three innings. Dolan Dunigan lead off the 4th inning with a home run to left field that seemed to take the wind from the Sharks sails and the Canadians went on to bat around and take a 4-3 lead, a lead they would not give up. The Royals would add 4 runs in the fifth and 3 in the sixth to make the final score 11-4.
Once again the pitching was very good for the Oakville team. Paul Anderson went 5 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on six hits, 3 walks and 5 Ks. Brendan Ellingham came in to relieve Anderson and after walking the first batter he faced, got the a pop up to second to end the game.
The Royals for the second game in a row had 10 hits. Matthew McCue lead the way with a triple, 2 singles, 3 runs scored and 2 rbi. Joshua Lee-Him was swinging a hot bat as he hit two doubles and a single to go along with his 4 rbi. logan Karse had 2 singles, scored 3 runs and drove in two. Slasor added another single and Leff and Campos added 1 rbi each. Del Pozo also contributed by walking twice and scoring twice.
The Royals will play another two games tomorrow. They will play at Bowling Green State University at 9AM and back at Toledo University at 3:45PM.

The showcase went very well and the coaches present showed interest in various Royals players that will graduate in the next couple of years.
In the afternoon the 18U Royals won both games of a doubleheader against the Indiana Bandits, a local traveling team. With the University of Saint Francis coaching staff watching the Royals won the first game by a score of 9-5 and the second game 10-8.
In the first game the Royals scored in every inning with the exception of the final inning. By the end of the second inning the Royals had taken a 6-1 lead but the Bandits scored 4 in the 3rd to make the score 7-5 after 3 innings. The Royals kept the Indiana team off the score board for the rest of the game while adding a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to make the final score 9-5.
J.D. Bryce, who will be playing for the University of Saint Francis this coming school year, started for the Royals and went 2 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs, but only 2 were earned, on 4 hits, 5 walks and 4 Ks. Bryce was relieved by Alex Mann who pitched the next 2 1/3 innings. Alex pitched very well allowing a single hit and striking out two. Mann was followed by Kyle Flemington who had a 3 up 3 down inning. Paul Anderson pitched the final inning allowing one hit and striking out one.
Daryl Taube hit his second home run of the trip. Dolan Dunigan had two singles and walked on his two other at bats and also scored a run. Daniel Campos singled, scored a run and had 2 rbi. Del Pozo, Bolton and Forester all had singles. Kaleb Leff singled, walked twice and scored a run. Logan Karse singled, scored twice and had one rbi.
In the second game the Royals came out swinging and scored 7 runs on 5 hits in the top of the first inning.
The Royals would scored two more in the second inning and added a final run in the top of the seventh.
Jonathan Del Pozo had a triple a single and scored 2 runs. Taube hit a triple, scored 2 runs and added 2 rbi. Joshua Lee-Him had 2 singles and 1 rbi. Campos hit a single and had an rbi. Leff singled and scored a run. Adam Shaver had 3 rbi and scored a run.
Arsene Pinguelo started for the Royals and went his scheduled 3 innings. Pinguelo who will be pitching for the University of Saint Francis next fall pitched very well with his fastball sitting 83-86 mph, allowed one unearned run during the 3 innings and left the game with a 9-1 lead. Graeme McCarrel took over in the fourth inning and went 1+ inning allowing 4 runs, 3 earned, on 5 hits and a walk. Joe Brown replaced McCarrel and did an excellent job over 2 innings allowing only one hit and getting a strike out. Dolan Dunigan came in to pitch the seventh and had trouble finding the strike zone. Paul Anderson replaced Dunigan with 2 outs in the seventh after the Bandits had made the score 10-8 and striked out the first batter he faced to end the game and give the Royals their second win of the day.
The day started with a 10:30 AM game vs the Baltimore Blue Jays and the Royals came out swinging scoring runs in every inning except the third in their way to a 10-2 victory.
The senior Royals got a complete game from starter Mike Vanderlaan who allowed only 2 runs on 4 hits, 5 walks and 2 Ks for the victory. The Royals continued to swing hot bats totalling 13 hits and 10 runs. Jonathan Del Pozo had a double, single and 3 rbi; Matthew McCue had three hits, all singles; Daniel Campos hit a 2 rbi double and walked twice; Daryl Taube chipped in with 3 singles; Logan Karse had a single and two rbi and Kaleb Leff contributed a single and one rbi.
The Royals scored 2 in the first, two in the second, 3 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth and the total could have been higher if not for another terrible call by the local umpire. With the bases loaded and one out in the third inning Jeff Slasor hit a ball that went off his foot that everybody saw except the umpires and as a result the Baltimore team turned a 1-2-3 double play to end the inning.
After a short break for a quick lunch the Royals faced the Georgia Eagles, a community college team. This was their 8th game in four days and the Royals understandably looked tired and as a result were never in the game losing 11-1. The bats went silent managing only 4 hits. Slasor, Taube and Karse had singles and Campos had a rbi double. The pitching was handled by Phil Hinton, John Bryce, Brendan Ellingham, Alex Mann and Graeme Mccarrel.
The Royals will travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana on Monday morning and will play a double header at the University of Saint Francis against a local travelling team on Tuesday at 2PM before moving to Toledo, Ohio for a tournament at Bowling Green University and Toledo University.

In the first game the Royals scored a run in the first inning when Matthew McCue singled in Daniel Campos to take a 1-0 lead but they would only manage one more hit the rest of the game. Dolan Dunigan started for the Royals and pitched well keeping his team in the game until the sixth inning when a three run home run gave the West Virginia team a 5-1 lead. Arsene Pinguelo took over for Dunigan with one out in the sixth and with two men on the bases. After getting a double play ball to short that resulted in an out at second and an error allowing another run to score, Arsene had trouble throwing strikes and was replaced by Kyle Flemington who pitched the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Twenty minutes after finishing the first game the Royals faced the Ohio Senators and after falling behind 9-2 in the first 4 innings the bats finally came to life and the Royals scored 5 runs in the fifth and another six in the sixth to win by a score of 13-10.
The hero of the day for the Royals was Kaleb Mariano Leff whose three run home run to left field gave the Royals the lead. Leff also had 2 singles and five rbi and scored 2 runs. Also having a great day at the plate was Jeff Slasor who got on base all five times that he came to the plate with 3 singles, a walk and a hit batter. He also scored 3 runs and chipped in with an rbi. Daniel Campos also managed to get on base five times with 2 singles, a walk and on two errors by the Senators second baseman. Adam Shaver chipped in with a double. Dunigan, Bolton, Del Pozo, Karse and McCue all hit singles.
Brendan Ellingham started the game for the Royals and went 3 inings and was relieved by Alex Mann who wet 2/3 of an inning. Joe Browne replaced Mann and held the Ohio team scoreless for the next 1 1/3 innings to allow the Royals to come storming back to take the lead. Mike Vanderlaan came in to pitch the final inning and allowed only one run to secure the victory for the Oakville team.

On this Canada Day the Brampton Royals were no match for the Oakville Royals as the Oakville team won easily by a score of 11-3 to bring their record at the tournament to 3-0.
The Oakville team scored seven runs in the top of the first inning on six hits and never looked back.
Daniel Campos, Logan Karse and Matthew McCue all had two hits each. Jeff Slasor, Daryl Taube, Kaleb Leff and Joshua Lee-Him all had a hit.
Paul Anderson started the Oakville Royals and went 3 innings allowing three runs, two of them earned, on 4 hits, 2 walks and 5 Ks. Anderson was followed by Brendan Ellingham who pitched two scoreless innings allowing one hit and one walk. Alex Mann pitched a perfect final inning inducing a fly fall to right and striking out the final two Brampton players. The game was called after 6 innings due to a two hour game time limit.
After a 5 1/2 hour break the Royals faced Butler, a team from just outside Pittsburgh who were also 3-0 at the tournament. The Royals scored in the top of the first inning when Slasor, who had walked to lead off the game was driven in by Daryl Taube's single. Butler tied it up in the bottom of the third and due to good pitching and excellent defense by both teams the game stayed at 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth, when Butler hit a home run to take a 2-1 lead. In the top of the seventh got a hit from Jeff Slasor but two very questionable calls had two Royals players striking out looking in the inning to give the American team the win.
Slasor and Taube had two hits and McCue had the other Royals hit. The Royals defense was excellent with excellent catches made by all three outfielders, Karse, Campos and Dunigan who also threw a player out at home from left field. On the infield Slasor at short stop and Bolton at second base also made excellent defensive plays.
Phillip Hinton went the distance for the Royals allowing two runs on 7 hits and 3 Ks.
All in all, a great showing on Canada Day by the Royals despite the poor umpiring that favoured the American team. What a surprise!!!!!

The Royals came out swinging scoring 12 runs on 12 hits to take the opening game 12-5. The Oakville team scored three runs in the first, three more in the third and six in the fifth. The Royals attack was lead by Daryl Taube, Andrew Bolton and Jeff Slasor. Taube had a double and a single to go along with two rbi and three runs scored. Bolton had three singles, two rbi and a run scored. Jeff Slasor hit two singles, batted in a run and scored three times. Also joining the hit parade were Daniel Campos with a single, 2 walks and a run scored, Dolan Dunigan with a single, two walks, one rbi and a run scored, Joshua Lee-Him with a single, a run and two rbi and Matthew McCue with a single and a run scored.
The pitching was handled by Brendan Ellingham and Paul Anderson. Ellingham started and allowed five runs but only two were earned through his four innings plus of work. Brendan allowed 4 hits and had 2Ks. Anderson kept Team Ontario off the score sheet for the final three innings allowing only two hits while striking out three.
The second game did not start well as Team Ontario scored 4 unearned runs in the first two innings to take a 5-1 lead but the Royals fought back with six runs in the bottom of the third on three hits and four free passes to take a 7-5 lead. Unfortunatly the Royals managed only one more hit in the final four innings and Team Ontario scored six runs in the final three innings to take the game 13-8. Dolan Dunigan and Adam Shaver both hit doubles for the Royals. The other three hits were all singles and were hit by Andrew Bolton, who also had 3 rbi, Daniel Campos and Matthew McCue. Jonathan Del Pozo got on base three times on walks has did Kaleb Leff who walked twice and was hit by a pitch.
The pitching was handled by Arsene Pinguelo, John Bryce and Graeme McCarrel. Pinguelo started the game and lasted 3 2/3 innings allowing six runs of which two were earned, allowing one hit and striking out four. Arsene left the game with a 7-6 lead. Bryce took over for Pinguelo and pitched 2 1/3 innings allowing five runs on three hits and four Ks. McCarrel relieved Bryce in the seventh and allowed two runs on one hit.

The back end of the doubleheader turned into a very close and exciting game with good pitching and timely hitting. The 18U team took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning when they sent 8 batters to the plate to face Adam Prashad, who started the game for the 17U team. Prashad pitched well allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, on 4 hits, 2 walks and 2 Ks in his 4 innings of work. The 3 runs in the top of the second inning were scored by Lee-Him, Dolan Dunigan and Adam Shaver on singles by Lee-Him and Shaver and walks by Dunigan and Slasor. Andrew Forester drove in a run on a fielder's choice and Leff drove in another on a sacrifice fly to right field. In the bottom of the second the younger Royals made it 3-1 when Wade Sage hit a rbi single to score Levi Larmour who had singled earlier in the inning and to move Adam Hoover, who had also singled, to second base. Sage and Hoover were stranded when 18U starting pitcher John Bryce got his second K of the inning for the third out of the inning. Bryce would go a strong five plus innings allowing only one more hit after the second inning . Bryce allowed 3 runs, one earned, on 4 hits, 5 walks and 6 Ks.
In the bottom of the 4th inning the offensive star of the game for the 17U team, Wade Sage, hit a double that drove in Patrick Pinlac, who had walked, and Adam Hover who got on base on an error. In the top of the fifth Brandon Hurst relieved Prashad and pitched a scoreless inning allowing a hit and a walk. After Bryce walked the first batter of the bottom of the fifth, Paul Anderson was brought in and pitched very well as he kept the opposition of the scoreboard and allowed only 2 hits in his 2 innings of work.
Joshua Lee-Him lead off the top of the sixth with a homerun over the right field fence off Carter Chapley, to give the 18U team the 4-3 lead . Matt Lahn pitched a scoreless top of the seventh for the 17U.
Lee-Him had a big game with a homerun, a single and two runs scored to lead the 18U Royals to victory. Dolan Dunigan with a single and Daniel Campos with 2 singles had the other hits for 18U Royals.

The Royals came out ready to play in the first game and played very well defensively turning three double plays and keeping the Ontario Blue Jays to 2 runs through 5 innings before allowing the victory to slip away in the sixth when their opponents scored 3 runs giving them a 5-3 win. The Royals managed just 4 hits to go along with their 8 walks. Logan Karse was the offensive star hitting a double, walking and scoring 2 of the 3 Royals runs. Daniel Campos, Matthew McCue and Andrew Bolton all hit singles.
The newest member of the Royals, John Bryce, started the game for the Oakville team. Bryce went 5 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, 7 walks and 2 Ks. Despite having trouble with his control, Bryce fought hard and left the game with one out in the sixth inning with 2 men on and leading 3-2. The lefty was replaced by Dolan Dunigan who threw a wild pitch followed by a walk and a single before getting the final two Jays to ground out.
The second game was stopped after 4 1/2 innings due to the poor field conditions caused by the rain that kept falling through out the day. The Royals got on base 11 times with 6 singles and 5 walks but had trouble scoring those runners as they left 9 players on base and scored only 2 runs. Matthew McCue continued to be the Royals top hitter with another 2 singles and an rbi. The other 4 singles were hit by Daniel Campos, Dolan Dunigan, Adam Shaver and Andrew Bolton.
Paul Anderson started for the Royals and pitched 4 innings allowing 5 runs, 3 earned, on 5 hits, 6 walks and 2 Ks. Brendan Ellingham came in in the bottom of the fifth inning and walked the first 3 batters and allowed a single, that scored a run, to the following Jay before the game was stopped due to the poor conditions.
The Royals next face the Toronto Mets on Saturday in Oakville and in Toronto on Sunday.

The Royals started the season on the right foot with a 7-4 win lead by the excellent pitching of Paul Anderson who pitched 5 2/3 innings allowing two runs, both unearned, on four hits, four walks and three Ks and left the game with a 7-2 lead. Anderson was relieved by Alex Mann who went the rest of the way securing a 7-4 win for the Royals. The Royals offense started the season with a bang scoring five runs in the first inning on four hits and left the bases loaded. They added two more runs in the second inning which was more than enough for their first win. The offensive stars of the game were, catcher Matthew McCue with two singles, two runs scored and two rbi; short stop Daryl Taube with a double, a single and a run scored and Jeff Slasor with two singles and a walk. Dolan Dunigan joined in with a two rbi single, Daniel Campos had a rbi single and Jonathan Del Pozo had a single to go with his run scored. Joshua Lee-Him scored two runs and Kaleb Mariano Leff also chipped in by throwing out a runner at home from left field. He also walked and later scored a run
The second game was marked by 14 man left on base by the Royals team which ended up costing them the game and the excellent pitching performance of Dolan Dunigan. Dunigan relieved Brendan Ellingham, who had started the game, with one out in the third and trailing 5-2. Dolan pitched 3 2/3 innings allowing only one earned run on two hits while striking out 7 and walking only one. The Royals managed a total of five hits. Daniel Campos got on base 4 times with two singles and two walks; Jeff Slasor had a rbi single and scored a run; Jonathan Del Pozo had a single and a walk and Justin Zealand found his way to first base three times by being hit by a pitch twice and with a single.
On Mother's Day the Royals travelled to Dickson Park in Cambridge to continue their battle with the Terriers on a beautiful sunny day. Just has they had done in the first game the previous day, the Royals started very well with 3 runs in the top of the first inning and scored in every inning except the third and fifth including two runs in the top of the seventh to break a 6-6 tie and give the Royals their second win of the season and made Joe Brown the winning pitcher.
John Bryce made his first start as a Royal and went 4 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs on 4 hits, 4 walks and 3 Ks. Joe Brown pitched the rest of the fifth and the sixth inning allowing a run on 2 hits, a walk and 2 Ks. Graeme McCarrel pitched a scoreless seventh for the save. Just as in the first game of the season, the Royals had 9 hits with McCue, Leff and Taube leading the way. McCue continued his hot hitting with a double and a single to go along with a run scored and 3 rbi. Leff scored 3 times, had 2 singles and made an outstanding catch in left field. Taube had a rbi double, a single and scored a run. Del Pozo added an rbi single, a walk and a run scored; Dunigan had a single in his first at bat of the game but was left at first when Del Pozo was thrown out at home trying to score.
The final game of the series was a well fought game where the difference were two unearned runs allowed by the Royals. The Royals offense managed only 3 runs on 6 hits and fell 2 runs short. McCue continued to be the offensive star with two more hits and a walk. Jeff Slasor added to his good weekend at the plate with another double and 2 runs scored and Adam Shaver chipped in with a double. Logan Karse hit an rbi single and Del Pozo added an rbi single and a run scored.
Arsene Pinguelo started for the Royals and pitched 5 strong innings allowing one earned run on 2 hits, five walks and 5 Ks. Pinguelo was relieved by Kyle Flemington who pitched the sixth inning allowing two runs on 3 hits.
The Royals will face Niagara on Tuesday night before a weekend series with the Ontario Blue Jays.

After a very difficult start where the Royals fell behind 8-0 after 2 innings, the Royals played toe to toe with the team from Bay Minette, Alabama ending up losing 11-3. The Royals had doubles by Sage and Pattison and singles by Darichuk and Craigen and Leff turned in a beautiful catch in center field.
Dolan Dunigan started the game for the Royals and was followed after one out in the second inning by Lahn who pitched very well over 3 2/3 innings allowing only one run on two hits and a walk. Prashad pitched the final inning.
In the final game of the day the Royals Team Blue beat Niagara Community College 4-3 in what was a thriller of a game.
The Royals starting pitcher Arsene Pinguelo went 4 very strong innings allowing only 1 run on one hit, 4 strike outs and two walks and left the game with the game tied at one. Joshua Lee-Him pitched the 5th inning allowing one run on a hit and a walk. Mitchell Kay followed in the sixth but was replaced by Mark Wilush with one out and two men on base and did a good job to keep the Royals lead at 4-3. Paul Anderson came in to pitch the 7th inning and allowed only one walk while striking out one to give the Royals their second win of the day and their 5th win of this trip.
The Royals had 9 hits in total. Darichuk, Lahn, Pattison and Shaver had doubles and Leff, Bolton, Wilkie, Campos and Craigen all chipped in with singles to help their team to victory.
The Devils, who are rated 6th nationally among division 3 junior colleges, scored 5 runs in the first three innings and had a 5-2 lead after 3 innings. Pinlac had tied the game in the second inning with a two rbi double. In the top of the 7th inning the Riverland CC pounded out six hits on the way to scoring nine runs and winning the game. Pitching for the Royals were Miller, Mann, Lee-Him and Lahn. Alex Mann had a great outing holding the Devils hitless for 3 1/3 innings while striking out 2 and walking only one.
At the same time at Eckerd College the White Team lost a very close game to Dowling Catholic High School of West Des Moines, IA by a score of 4-2. Kyle Flemington, Cameron Newell and Mitchell Kay pitched well for the Canadians.

The Royals were the largest group at the game that had an attendance of just over 2900 people, and were acknowledged on three different occasions.
Starting pitcher Ricky Romero was not at his best and the Jays fell behind 4-1 but with the help of a home run by Edwin Encarnacion and a double by Jose Bautista, the Toronto team came all the way back to win the game 6-4.
The game versus the Carl Sandburg Community College where three members of last year's Royals 18U team now play had been the most anticipated game of the trip. The Royals were very much looking forward to facing their old team mates and friends Edward Largy, Mitchell Mattarollo and Mirek Sharp.
Despite the cancellation, yesterday still turned out to be a special day and it showed that last year's Royals 18U team were a special team, as the old team mates made the trip from their college to spend time with their old team mates at their hotel. Two other members of last year's team Phillip Hinton and Andrew Filler had driven from their colleges for hours to see their friends and to attend the game.
This afternoon starting at 3PM local time the Royals will face some familiar faces as they will play two games against Spoon River Community College.
