Big follower of RCB since IPL 1, not because of the team, but the city. I honestly feel RCB will lose today and deserved to be kicked out of IPL. RCB has scored more runs than any team, but still we are fighting for the 4th spot. Pathetic team selection especially bowlers, dumb think tank and some suspicious plays (RP Singh’s no ball and dropped catch against CSK).

KKR and RR will make sure HYD is out of Competition…
MI will make sure XI is out of Competition….

And above all, RCB will beat CSK….

The hopes are not completely evaporated. We are still No.4 in the points table. Remember that.

SRH are also under pressure. They must also win both the games.

Let’s go match by match now:

CSK vs DD (Insignificant, its only for CSK’s position in the Table)
KKR vs PW (again insignificant as KKR’s NRR is too low to challenge RCB if both RCB & KKR tie on table)
MI vs RR (Insignificant, again it is the table position formalities, RCB’s target now is just to come to that No.4 Position)
KXI vs DD (Slightly significant, because KXI’s NRR is better than KKR and they can challenge RCB. So let’s hope that KXI don’t win by huge margins or better they lose)
SRH vs RR (A very important match, hope RR beat them so that SRH get demoralized here itself and not think about their next match. Dravid & Binny should take special care for us )
KXI vs MI (Again slightly significant, because KXI’s NRR is better than KKR and they can challenge RCB. Especially if they had won their previous game, they will be positve. So let’s hope that KXI don’t win by huge margins or better they lose)
RCB vs CSK (Damn we should win this one, even if it close encounter with small margin that’s enough)
PW vs DD (Bullsh*t match for everyone )
SRH vs KKR (If we win against CSK and SRH lose against RR, then SRH will be demoralized totally and I don’t think they can win this game that too with bigger margin, it will be impossible for them. But if we had lost to CSK, then SRH will be positive even if they had lost to RR. They may try for that NRR. If both SRH and RCB lost their previous games, then SRH has to just win the match comfortably)

So I would say CSK vs RCB and SRH vs RR are the crucial matches of all. And since our match comes before, it is clear cut that we should win that match against a top team like CSK. Without winning this match, we don’t deserve to play for any chance / any probabilities. Just go out and win that match. Let’s have some hope. As I said even Pak was in similar position in 1992 world cup, they played hopelessly in some of the matches, but they went on to win the cup with some luck and some brilliant late performances.

The Team can be like this:

Gayle
Henriques (I have explained in a different thread)
Kohli
AB Divilliers
Tiwari (He has been in the heat, so lets keep him, we have no better options)
Arun (He did a brilliant keeping job today. AB will be needed in the outfield. Again we don’t have better batsmen. Agarwal is injured, otherwise he would have made)
Vinay
Rampaul (let’s stick to him, he has been the better of lot, we saw what Murali did today)
Zaheer (He is veteran and that proved with his bowling figures today, let’s have him)
Unadkat
Murali Karthik (Again he has done the best in spin bowling department and he is a fighter and trier like Tiwari and he has been in the heat so far)

I am still supporting my team, because I believe the support should be till the end, and not betray them in the middle. Otherwise you are not a true RCBian. Let’s back them. A team with players like Gayle, Kohli, ABD, Vinay definitely deserves to win the cup.

Guys i am a huge RCB fan and have never missed any of the RCB matches , it is really disappointing to watch the team loose. The area that RCB have lacked the most is the bowling it has been our weakest link. It has been so many years now and it baffles me that our bowlers have still not learned the art of bowling good consistent yorkers…..... Watching RCB bowlers has been the most disappointing part , it looks like there is no fire in the bellies it looks like once a big score is on the board things are automatically going to go their way…... Come on guys . We as RCB supporters want to see RCB put a fight atleast, WIN OR LOOSE please show us that you are trying atleast. I must say that the RCB bowlers can take a leaf out the top orders batting line up . Dont have to go that far look at gayle, AB, Virat they have shown amazing resilience to different conditions time and again they have delivered for the team. I guess the only advice i would like to give to bowlers is plz plz plz plz go back to the drawing board and try to execute those all important YORKERS in the nets. If not for anyone do it for the fans who have been supporting you time and again.

Pujara, Virat, Gayle, Henriques, ABD, Vinay Kumar, Rahul, Zaheer, Rampaul, Murali Karthik,

Bowling:
First 5

Zaheer
Vinay
Murali Karthik
Zaheer
Rampaul

Next 5

Rampaul
Gayle
Vinay
Murali Karthik
Henriques

Overs 11-15
Rampaul
Henriques
Gayle
Henriques
Vinay

Last 5
Murali Karthik
Rampaul
Zaheer
Henrqiues / Murali Karthik
Vinay

To surprise.. Gayle can get one down but within 5 overs.. Pujara and Kohli need to go max blind till Gayle arrives.. Wat say? Then Henrqiues and others play till 12 or 13 max for ABD to come by max 14 or 15.. We need 230 - 250 to defend based on past experiences!! We win!!

Just Humble Feels.. I know nothing more than RCB Management, the CRICKET Heroes!!

I guess this is the best lot to win with a thumping style and enter play offs and rock!!

If toss won, BAT FIRST irrespective of any fear.. 230+ Minimum needed.. Scoring RATE needs to go high as high and make CSK Bowlers tired to win the game psychologically in batting inning!! Thats it!!

2 losses - Super over vs SRH and No-ball vs CSK making this challenge finally.. Never mind. Winners are those who make tuff odds!!

The first 6 overs…, CRITICAL CRUCIAL !

I was shocked at how they played the first 6 overs, RCB need to learn that the first 6 overs are crucial and we need players like Mayank Agarwal who took to the risk and hits over the inner field, every innings he played had aggression, every other opener we have had since has played ground shots. Theres a reason why they’re in the circle…

I wanted to see Henriques open with Gayle as he has shown he can open in the Big Bash League for the Sydney Sixers…

Sad really seeing them struggle near the end of every innings on fairly good pitchs.

I BLAME the batting order…, bowling can only do so much with what we’ve got…

RCB WILL miss the playoffs.., Hope we can do better next year…

Change must come from the TOP

I am of the strong view that more than the players and their performance this year, the coaching and captaincy have been rather mediocre. Other than shuffling the players, nothing new was actually done.

1. Predictable: RCB are such a predictable side and all opponents have a game plan against the RCB.

2. Rigid Batting Line Up: The batting line up has been very predictable and the opposition knew when to bowl their best bowlers. For the formidable batting line up that we have and the consistency with which they performed the need for change did not seem necessary. But yet there were instances when a small change could have yielded 20 additional runs which could be so critical when you are not able to defend power scores. Statistics shows that in high voltage games Chris Gayle has failed to deliver. The pressure gets to him and he tends to get out rather meekly. Not to take the credit away from him, the opposition builds up enough pressure on him just as the fans do with their expectations. Why has he never been safeguarded to play in the middle order in such games? When the ball is swinging and you know he might get out for a low score why not save him for later. The last few games he has wasted so many deliveries just to ensure he plays till the very end. Yes, Gayle may make up for his strike rate later, but without rotating the strike he is a bane on the other batsmen. Also, there have been instances when AB De Villiers should have been preferred to Kohli as he has a better strike rate and plays innovative shots. Why is it a rule that Kohli has to bat at No. 3. Did not Dravid bat at No. 8 for his team?
Why was not a pinch hitter sent when the run rate was very low in the game against KKR at Ranchi. We could not afford to ask AB De Villiers to strike from the very first delivery? Theere is so much pressure on Gayle, Kohli and AB to deliver time and again. Are we not asking for too much? Is the coach using any intuitive thinking to ease the pressure off their shoulders? Not that I have seen any. I have not seen one new talent which was cultivated and nurtured in RCB. All the performers were stars of their own might.

3. Pathetic, Indisciplined Bowling(What is Venkatesh teaching these kids?): The bowling line up was so predictable. The line and length they bowled was way too predictable and the opposition, after the first few games, knew how to negotiate the bowling. They knew which bowler to target on which pitch. The bowling coach and the captain are to blame here. A good captain like Dhoni has made a star out of all the youngsters he has had at his disposal. The reason is he nurtures every talent and brings the best out of them. By providing the bowlers with the best field placements to dictating them to bowl to a set field, to make changes at the right time and to a set game plan brewing in his mind and he just seems to make a hero out of every raw talent. On the contrary RCB this year had some of the best talent (bowlers) and the bowling coach and the captain did not encash on their talent nor did they nurture them like Dravid or Dhoni. If you were to analyse with a lens, the field placements were terrible, the length was almost always failing, and the tension got to the bowlers too soon and an animated captain did not help the cause.

4. Captaincy: With regards to the captaincy, If you closely look at Dhoni, he is calm and composed while the players are animated running up and down the pitch putting pressure on the batsmen. I sometimes get the feeling there are more than 11 players on the field when CSK are bowling. On the contrary Kohli is so animated while all the other players seem like they have been brought back from the cleaners, “dry” and “washed out”.

5. Team Selection: The coach and the captain are equally to blame here. Why were so many fast bowlers played even after they were belted round the field. It is ironical to see that we did not have one slow medium pace bowler. The only successful fast bowler this season has been Dale Steyn cause he is too fast and too accurate. All the other fast bowlers including the likes of Ishant Sharma bowled slow deliveries 70% of the time. Did RCB bowlers probably want to show they are Malcom Marshals and Patrick Pattersons? And when they bowled slow they bowled too short. It was like some college kids bowling to the Tendulkars and Richards. Look at Parvinder Awana, Sidharth Trivedi, Rajat Bhatia who were extremely economical. They might not have taken wickets but have helped other bowlers take wickets by restricting the scoring rate and thus putting pressure on the batsmen. RCB had none or we just did not pick one.

Anyways Ray Jennings and his South African coterie have enjoyed repeating their mistakes time and again and we loyal RCB fans have been disappointed time and again. I hope light dawns on the thinking minds of the Team Management to make the necessary changes, lest be depleted of their loyal fans as we may change loyalties due to frustration.
