His idea was to create a digital achievement platform for analogue table top games and tournamanet players. On that portal you could gain points, achievements, titles, additional titles and connect to other gamers find new opponents. You’d have an overview of your own statistics and those of others, you could do more for your club, participate in unique special events and link your gaming activities to Twitter, Page5, T3 and Facebook.

Needless to say, I agreed and jumped aboard!

My first task was to think about a name and design a logo for the portal, once Tim and I had chosen a name. Rather quickly we decided on »Rawalry«, a unique combination between the words rivalry and raw, since table top games are about rivalry and fights being rather raw and edgy.

Starting of with the amazing games »Warmachine« and »Hordes«, both distributed in Germany by Ulisses Games, the next part was to design more than 100 achievement icons for a big variety of different categories an titles. Stylewise the icons should be raw and rather dark, featuring typical symbols from the table top games, such as skulls, weapons in all shapes and colors, fire and basically a lot of violence and blood. A job absolutely perfect for me!

Now, reaching about 85 finished icons I’m still not tired and haven’t lost any of my initial excitement for this project. I can’t wait to start working on the actual website. Projects like this really show me that I found my dream job.

From a very early age, Karl Ruprecht Kroenen demonstrated symptoms of masochism, whipping himself with a fresh branch of oak each day, and finding pleasure in the pain. As a teenager, he loathed his awkwardness and developed an extreme form of body dysmorphic disorder. In his obsession with physical perfection, he conducted brutal experiments on his own body, including surgically removing his own eyelids, lips, and his toe- and finger nails.

For quite some time I wanted to do a piece that features someone with surgically removed lips, since it looks so surreal and brutal. Today I finished it, after working on it 2 days straight. Right here you can see the steps and photos necessary to create this piece.

A little later she asked me for a photo of myself, that she could manipulate. Just today she finished her work and I’m beyond thrilled! This piece is just amazing and I can’t even put into words how much I love my norwegian sweetcakes for being such a good friend, a huge inspiration, a great teacher, a patient listener and overall amazing human being. Thank you so much hunny. You mean the world to me.

After 267 heartattacks (which would’ve technicially made me die a soon death) I even managed to update my WordPress. That little fella spent a pretty horrifying life still being version 2.6 and was more than hard to equip with plugins and such. I nearly died a thousand deaths ‘cuz of fear and nervousness bringing this babe up to date, since the back-up tool died on me during this process as well. But now everything works like a charm. Awesome! As a part of this post and the revamp of my site, I’d like to thank @TweetAngi and @trashfamous with all my heart and soul. For the sacrificially help including several nervous breakdowns on my part via Skype and Teamviewer. Thank you. You rock!

Because I couldn’t really decide on whether having this website drown in darkness or in bright daylight, I figured to simply have both! On the top left hand corner you can switch between the dark side (we have cookies!) and the bright version. But be aware, it makes you switch-addicted! I regularly catch myself constantly jumping between the two styles. And because I couldn’t really pick german or english as a language I would write in forever on here, both are available. Comfortably changable on every subpage (and partly in blogposts, like this one).

Within the graduation show at the Design Factory International the project was shown at a self-conceptualized stand featuring extensive, illuminated banners, displayed product booklets and a presentation on a computer.
