I think she’s probably a genius and her projects are incredible.

I think it’s cool that she (like all amazing artists) has copycats all over the world. And I’m sure that some of them are doing awesome work too… THIS, however, to me, does not quite make sense…

This is the Matter of Taste building, or “The Simpson Block” as it is officially called. It is currently being transformed into an AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL space for multiple tenants, one of them still being Matter of Taste.

Now, maybe i’m biased, oh wait, i am 100% biased, but this building that was kind of … not great, is being renewed. It’s going to be gorgeous, and well-designed. So then, WHY “before I die…” maybe “before I’m reborn…” or “before i change…”?

Anyways, if you did it… explain yourself. hahaha.

I’ve been overanalyzing it since April 30th, but after talking to the lovely Nicole from KW|AG today – I’ve decided to just get over it.

Maybe I’ll make a big deal out of my 10,000th post.

Last weekend was Free Comic Book Day – Looking for Heroes on Ontario St had a Storm Trooper out front, 100% in character. The whole time. It was so good. It was “Next Level” as someone might say.

Also last night, I went to go see Ane Brun in Toronto – SO.GOOD. Thanks for the reco Swedish bestie!

Alicia, P and I went to Milagro for dinner first – and then ate these really fucked up spicy sweet treats:

Also, tonight and tomorrow – Open Ears is having a mini festival, events happening mostly in Waterloo and at RARE in Cambridge/Blair. You should def check out the details here, because Open Ears is awesome. ’nuff said.

Tomorrow during the day, I’m kind of intrigued by this garage sale that is happening.  You donate your stuff, and 100% of the proceeds go to support Women’s and Children services.

The Bloomin Earth Fair is happening at City Hall from 9am-5pm and it is open to absolutely everyone. There’s live music, an amazing artisan market of homemade awesomeness – over 50 vendors! Lots of info booths, and a fashion show at noon.

I also hear there might be another separate, yet related performance happening at Civic Square (The fountain) around 7pm tomorrow… just sayin…. I’ll be there.

And, the Kitchener Market has all kinds of Earth Day stuff going – all family friendly stuff – crafts, and you can’t plant something and take it home with you! 10am-Noon on the upper level.

And, like I posted yesterday – it’s Record Store Day. So go buy a record :D

And the KW Symphony has a Mozart performance at 8pm.

Aaron James Draplin, the man behind Field Notes, and a number of other things that you may or may not know of, is bringing his Tall Tales from a Large Man to Ontario. We stepped up and asked him to stop in to K-W, and wouldn’t you know it, he accepted! Buy a ticket and come out for a talk you won’t forget any time soon.

Using scientific proof and state-of-the-art multimedia techniques, Aaron James Draplin of the Draplin Design Co. delivers a suckerpunch of a talk that aims to provide bonafide proof of work, the highs and lows of a ferociously independent existence and a couple tall tales from his so-called career in the cutthroat world of contemporary graphic design. Just a regular guy with a trajectory a little dirtier than yours, his talk is open to all oncomers brave enough to show up. If you are a youngster, you may find yourself inspired to attack your design future in a different way. If you are established, you may just leave feeling grateful you don’t have anything to do with him. Hard to say.
