It always surprises me how many pieces of data or input you need to achieve a relatively small and simple task. In this case just a simple comment on a pdf-drawing. New job with Waiward Steel Fabricators Ltd. at Syncrude's MLMR build even more dead center in the Oilsands. The main mine is about 100 m from my field office. I'm really enjoying myself, meeting new people and building my experience and knowledge. 200T trucks (the small ones, they say) are driving by and sometimes even a 400T (the big one); very impressive.

I'm currently working on version 2 of my FileViewer project. It has improved a couple of feet for the better. Time tracking, a PowerBar which can be personalized to suit the user's needs, and many many other features.  I'm using Delphi 2010 and am considering Delphi XE2 by Embarcadero. Found a cool name for it too: Drafting Office Management Information System or DOMIS.

Joka and Mavis closed the shop due to the August 1st Long Weekend. For us this was the sign to have our new trailer, 22 ft K-Z Sportsmen, on her maiden voyage, the weather looked to be good. At last we had a breakfast outside this morning. Rain, wind and above all mosquitoes kept us from sitting outside. Just this morning there was enough wind to keep the buggers away from our deck, so we grabbed the opportunity. I'm looking to buy a new John Deere tractor including 54-60" mowing deck, loader, scraper and a (snow removal) blade. This could be the one; especially with current US$ to CAD$ exchange rate.
