I managed to get terribly ill for very nearly 2 weeks, and decided (rightly) that working on the show wasn't a very good idea while I attempted to recuperate. Don't worry, I'm much better now and Chris berated me for not telling him and getting him to do a guest show. My bad!

This may have something to do with the fact that everyone is slowly starting to put new material out. Man cannot live on A23 and Cesium 137 alone! Far too many numbers... Is it October already? It seems like it was just last month that I was moaning about what a cool wet spring it was, and now we're into a nice cool wet fall. We here in Toronto were robbed of a summer. Again. But all that lousy weather gives me plenty of time inside to get things like RSA done on time. Oh I'm not liking this post labour day end of summer thing. The weather may be nicer, but I'm just not getting used to shorter and shorter days. Pretty soon I'm going to have to think about buying sweaters and stuff. Much like the days getting shorter and darker, this weeks show is a nice balance of the light and the dark with both a bit of aggression and some bouncy synthpop!

OK, enough with the new stuff, lets head back into the realm of the theme show. I had a few suggestions from various people to do "country" themed shows. No, I'm not talking about playing the Cleopatra compilation "A tribute to Travis Tritt" but instead every band in this weeks show is from the United Kingdom. Ben Bulcock pushed me over the edge by not only suggesting the UK but giving me a nice list of bands and even tracks. Since I'm really lazy, and the list was a good one, why not?

The theme shows continue. This week listener Dave Hook aka DJ Shady Past suggested that I grab band names with numbers in them. Well, there are certainly enough bands like that so why not? I decided that I'd try to grab bands slightly more obscure as well as the obvious ones like Front 242. Thus we begin the very first of several "theme" shows. Most of the suggestions I've gotten have been a little been there, done that. A covers show has been done, and the "tribute to a label" thing is pretty pointless with anyone other than Wax Trax, which again has been done.
