Be careful with that Pangea, mine overheated and when I took it apart could not read the values on the burnt crisp resistor! I was using it on my DAC when it died!

I started using my C-16 today, I think it bests any BillD C-1 I've done. My 4000t is all apart in a box with a parts list mostly made. I guarantee it's vastly different from Perry's. He knows the engineering way better than I, still I want to incorporate some of his ideas.

As for connecting the sub, it sounds like you're already using both preamp outputs on the C-1 for both amps. What a lot of "audiophiles" prefer is to use your amplifier to send the signal via speaker outputs to the high level inputs on the back of the sub. Doing this in no way effects the amplifier that's powering your speakers, gets a strong clean signal to the sub, and gives the sub the "sound signature" of the amp it's getting its signal from.

The other advantage of connecting the sub this way is that you are much less likely to get noise (EMI/RFI) from the speaker cable since the signal going through it (from the main amplifier) is a much higher voltage than the noise itself, especially if the cable run to the sub is rather long.

I consider people who enjoy listening to music as a hobby an audiophile. I am not an audiophile either in the purest sense of the word, but I enjoy listening to music with good gear. I agree with placement of speakers and room furnishings to help tame the sound makes a difference. I figured a good room would make it better too. Just curious how many people on the forum had that.......grin

Congratulations on your move Wayne. You must like the heat. When I was in Arizona last August I remember them saying it was a humid day. I couldn't even feel it. I think it was in the single digits and they could feel it. Being fro Maryland it still felt dry and hot to me. Never been any place where the top of my feet were burning with Tenis Shoes on. :)

We moved 2 yrs ago. I found the key to unpacking was to do one room at a time. Anything I touched I put it in it's place. Tried to touch things once. It either got put where it was going or trashed. Hope all goes well.

Why no, no I don't ever quite screwing around with stuff. This time, by the steps. Step 1, Take a Audio Quest Dragonfly Red and connect a Jitterbug filter to it (sold separately). Step 2, Place Blue Tack in the crevices at the joint, making a smooth transition one to another. Step 3, Very carefully wrap aluminum tape around the both of them, making them stay together and and maybe even providing a shield. Step 4, Now slip a length of heat shrink tubing over the units and shrink it. Step 5, Dip entire piece into 'Instant Cover' liquid. Do this twice, and yes, be sure to tape the end to keep this covering out of. Trim it up and you have a permanent stick filtered DAC. Of course, this should include the connector cable in the mix as well. Won't lose parts, won't easily come apart. Got another Jitterbug on order for my other DAC, but no need to do this, as it will be a floater for different equipment.

BTW, yes the Jitterbug is preferable to not having one in the first place.
