When that day comes, millions of web surfers will be searching for feeds on their topic of choice. The explosion will be akin to what happened with the great Yahoo! Google growth (goto/overture).

I have clients who spends thousands per month on their keyword searches. In many industries, the rapid rate of growth means skyrocketing costs..and less return. Many are still making enough money to make it cost effective. Other clients have had to change efforts to natural rankings (unleash the SEO bandits!). Increasing natural rankings take time, energy and capital that could be better spent elsewhere in the organization. I constantly have to remind the client that it takes MONTHS to impact the rankings...especially in well entrenched industries.

Let's look at the best case scenario for both Pay Per Click (Overture/Adsense) & Natural (Seasrch Engine Friendly Site/Blog). In either situation you are spending hundreds, usually thousands of dollars, to affect your bottom line. And for what? A one time search for a one time visit and one time sale? Think about it. You have to first get the ranking...then convert the searcher into a clicker...than into a buyer..then into a repeat customer. What do you think the ratio is from the number of searchers to the number of repeat visiters/customers? Not high I am sure.

Imagine the RSS Scenario. You get top placement in Yahoo! and all of the emerging search engines (if you hurry)..for FREE! And, here is the best part...they become REPEAT visiters automatically! They have YOUR feed on THEIR desktop. The more you update, they more they come. The possibilities are endless...

Now is the time to research your area and secure your position. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this goal, but first, take time to learn what a feed is & see what others are doing on their site/feed. How is their content? Is it updated frequently? IS it "cool"...is it "professional"...is it relevant?

In order to build a better feed, we have to see what we like in the feeds that we are attracted too...

There are many good free readers out there. Try "pluck"...back to building.

Pretty soon everyone will have an RSS feed. What is an RSS feed? Well, it a question that is similiar to "what's a Blog" a few years ago, or "whats a webpage" even further back. We will answer that question, as well as many more, in coming posts. This initial post is just a test to show how simple and fast getting a blog that is syndicated really is...at least at this point in time.
