Some softball games were played at Don and Nona Williams Stadium, with the remainder played at other venues.

The Blue Devils softball team finished the WIAC season with a 23-13 overall record.

Base ball - Menomonie Blue Caps host Rochester Roosters

Despite falling 3-0 in the opening game of a scheduled double-header facing the Rochester Roosters, the Blue Caps played a spirited game and a fantastic time was enjoyed by all.

After the first contest the visiting Roosters presented the Blue Caps with a new bat and base bags, and the Blue Caps returned the favor, giving the Roosters a miniature bat autographed by the whole team.

With rain threatening and a cloudy sky, still over 100 people were in attendance at the game, which was viewed as a huge success.

In game two the veteran Roosters were crowing early, up 8-0 over the Blue Caps en route to a series sweep.

The Menomonie Blue Caps Vintage Base Ball Team is sponsored by the Dunn County Historical Society and a number of local businesses.

The Blue Caps play an exhibition game vs. WEAU-Television celebrities on Saturday, August 10 at Wakanda Park in Menomonie. Play ball time is 6:00pm.

The next home game is on Saturday, June 8 with the club hosting Cream City. Play ball time is 11:30am at River Heights Elementary School in Menomonie, WI (site of all home games).
