OK, enough preaching I guess. A couple of weeks ago I received an email from Brad Callen, promoting his iWriter service. iWriter is a good place for both writers who want to earn some cash and web owners seeking for cheap articles to feed their sites. You can join iWriter on both sides but I prefer writing only so I didn’t join as their client.

I wrote for iWriter in October 2011 for two weeks during my spare time and received 85 USD on 5th November, sent directly to my Paypal account. If you are interested in writing for iWriter there are some points you need to consider:

• Writers are expected to rate the clients they work for and viceversa. Writers with good rating (4 stars and above) can get better payment and more request whilst clients with good rating will attract more writers to write for them, a win-win situation.
• Always look for clients with good rating AND reasonably good approval rate. Whilst most of the clients are honest you may work for a bad guy looking for free articles only. The system allows clients to review your articles and decide to approve or reject them which can be abused by people looking to steal your hard works. I’ve seen people complaining about a client rejecting their articles without clear reasons and instead giving silly excuses like “Sorry, I don’t have money to pay your article”. Sad but true.
• Some clients may seem picky and request lot of stuff to be loaded in your articles, including H1, H2 tagging, no grammar errors whatsoever, native English speaker – either UK or USA, etc. I normally skip them as there are tons of other requests you can fulfill.
• Always look for the requirement and stick with it. If your clients request 3% keyword density give them what they want. Avoid working for somebody with too generic requirement such as “friendly tone” only without giving more detailed description as you might write something totally different from what he/she expected.
• Write subjects you are familiar with and have passion about.
• Do walk an extra mile. I found that over delivering and good research are keys to get a happy customer place a special request for you. Submitting spun articles is not acceptable at all. So far I have written 26 articles with zero rejection rate, and most of my orders come from returning happy clients.

I have to admit here that I don’t write for living by joining iWriter because I have better works to do. I by no means am an affiliate either – as far as I know iWriter has no affiliate program. I just want to share with you my experience with iWriter, in case you need some extra cash to cover your bills.

Start with short articles first to gain your confidence and write longer ones for better income. I prefer writing long articles as the time needed to research the article sources is same.

It’s been well known that once the AdSense account is terminated it’s very difficult or impossible to have it back so people are looking for alternative to AdSense. Prosperent is said to be the future big player in this keywords advertising field and if you haven’t used it you’d better give it a try.

What is the difference between AdSense and Prosperent?

Just like AdSense you can customize the appearance of Prosperent ads but Prosperent gives you more flexibility to tailor the ads. In addition to the font type, title color, background and other stuff you can similarly change in AdSense, Prosperent also allows you to use picture and add a Buy Now link (can be renamed to whatever name you want to call it). Prosperent dashboard is pretty simple and I have to admit that it is easier to work with compared to the AdSense ads panel.

Although the set up may look similar to AdSense actually they are different in the way you earn the money. In AdSense every time the visitors click the AdSense ads on your website you will earn some money but with Prosperent you will earn money only if after clicking the ads, your visitors do an action. The action can be buying the product, download / order free trial products and any other actions commonly found in CPA marketing. In other words, AdSense is PPC whilst Prosperent is TCPA (Target Cost Per Acquisition or Targeted Cost Per Action, I don’t know which one is more accepted).

With Prosperent you don’t have to worry about accidentally clicking your own ads. It won’t be considered as click fraud because you don’t get money from people clicking the ads. The conversion rate will probably lower than AdSense but the amount of commission you will earn from Prosperent will normally be higher than AdSense as some internet marketers mentioned in forums.

Problems With Prosperent:

Some publishers / blog owners didn’t see any ads appear on their websites. Non US based website owners will not see any ads on their website / blog because Prosperent – at the time this post is written – is targetting US market only. Whenever their system detects non-US IP address there will be no ads found, however there is a nice feature that will allow you to install scripts from third party – say from Google AdSense – so if Prosperent can’t find any ads suitable for the website / blog readers it will automatically show AdSense ads on your website.

If you live in the United States but can’t see your ads after installing the script you can do this:

While viewing your web page that contains a Prosperent ad, paste the following onto the end of the URL

#prosperent_query=football so your URL should look like http://yourdomain.com#prosperent_query=football

Press enter followed by F5 to refesh the page. You should now see a Prosperent Ad displayed on your page.

While Prosperent do accept international publishers, it ONLY display ads for U.S traffic, so you will have to follow the above while visiting your site from a U.S based proxy. In the future Prosperent will be rolling the ads out to several other countries and regions.

What if you want to design eBook cover yourself?

If you know how to work with graphics software like Photoshop you can do some simple designs but to create killer covers you will need to purchase the automator actions. There is alot of free Photoshop tutorial online but unfortunately it’s very difficult to find one that teach you how to make professional looking leather book covers or paperback book covers for example. Forget looking for free eBook cover software or templates as well: Most of the free templates book cover design are out of date and I don’t think people want to buy your eBook if it looks old.

A set of good Photoshop actions can cost you an arm and a leg. CoverActionPro for example sells them at $197 and $297 plus $19 shipping cost in USA. Unless you seriously want to make money with Photoshop (hey, Photoshop jobs can earn you good money!) I don’t think you’ll want to buy it.

If you are on a tight budget but still want to design your eBook covers yourself you can download a free graphic software from paint.net. Note that just like Photoshop, without the actions you can’t make attractive 3D eCovers but that’s fine because this software is needed to create a 2D image only. To convert it to 3D cover we will get a free eBook cover generator to do the job for us. Cool?

If you asked me how to increase traffic to your site I would say there are many ways to increase your website visitors number, however the key to your success is not the quantity. It is the quality – the targeted website traffic that will bring you money.

Article marketing is a serious business. There are companies offering article software (most of them are for articles spinning purpose), article submitter service, article submission software or even free article submission service. All aiming at traffic as well as backlinks. People developed those services because frankly article marketing can be really tedious for some people. For those of you who hate to spend hours looking for ideas you can use free articles available online and rewrite them in your own words (take note that ezine articles wants original contents only so make sure you follow the rule) before sending the articles to the article submission sites. Other option is to pay a ghost writer to provide you a unique article.

If you are looking for an easier way to do article marketing you should consider using video to do article marketing, especially for people who have no time or don’t like to write their own articles. There are some benefits you don’t get from the traditional article marketing:

- No worries about duplicate content penalty issue. You can take your blog posts and convert them into videos in seconds.

- Grab your articles you sent to Ezine Articles or other article directory and turn them into videos.

- Use free article contents from public domain instantly. No writing skills needed unless you want to spice it up a little bit.

- Get traffic from video sites like Youtube, MetaCafe and other video submission directories. With over 1 billion views per day (from October 2009 data) you should really consider this option: That’s at least 11,574 views per second!

My second sniper blog was started at page #6 of Google with 3 posts only. After 3 weeks it managed to reach page #3 without any additional posts made. One week later I add up another post and this post pushed my blog position to page #2, rank #16.

Both of my blogs never get enough traffic because of their poor search engine ranking. I wanted my blog to be at least on the third place to get enough exposure, staying at the bottom of the first page didn’t give any benefit at all. One way to optimize search engine ranking is by building backlinks to the blogs: I can either go for the do follow blogs and drop comments there or find high page rank forums to participate in. I prefer forum commenting after reading an excellent report by Jack Duncan. Here are some good points from his point of view:

Forums are like parks. (You know, those places where people hang out with their dog and a Frisbee, picnic lunches and laughing children.)

Forums are places where people hang out with other “likeminded” people. They’re places to share opinions, ask questions, and present ideas. Therefore, you can find forums on just about any topic imaginable (hamster lovers, guitar instructors, appliance repair, exotic fish…).

Linking to your site from within a forum thread is a pretty natural activity because links occur all over the forum threads as people have discussions. Many forums also contain “sig” sections for links.

Forums are places for individuals to talk about lots of related topics…all at the same time. These conversations are being started and continued constantly by all the various users. In that sense, a forum is like a park…no specific activities, just lots of participants focused on different topics simultaneously. Some of you are already familiar with blog commenting…and may be wondering why to spend time on the forum signup process, if you can just get a backlink in a blog comment…

What do I mean by this?

Blogs have a defined agenda (set by the author or publisher).

By that, I’m referring to the fact that blog authors post on specific topics that interest them (and hopefully their readers) and allow a response to their writing via a comment section. Blog authors essentially set the stage, and encourage others to comment on the performance. They are outdoor amphitheatres in the sense that anyone can come and “watch the play”…but you’d better be careful not to start your own “drama in the stands”.

Yes, you can still get hundreds of backlinks from relevant blogs…and if you do a good job selecting relevant posts, you can actually get your backlinks to appear natural and “stick”. That being said, I’ve known marketers who spend hours on blog commenting only to have it “moderated” away over the next few days.

Most people find it difficult to get relevant forums with high page rank but what if I tell you I could find them easily within seconds, including the highly ‘honored’ .edu and .gov? In the past my problem was I couldn’t find them but now my problem is I don’t have enough time to write the posts because there are so many high PR forums to join!

Finally I can write something here after getting ‘dormant’ for quite sometime. Last week my e-mail was bombarded with so many internet marketers promoting George Brown’s ‘Google Sniper’. I know we are not supposed to buy another product if we want to focus on our main project but I just couldn’t resist the temptation. Google Sniper was first introduced in the warrior forum with great testimonials from the warrior members before launched on ClickBank around 2 weeks ago. At $77 it left a big hole in my pocket but I decided to give it a try anyway.

To make this story short I set up a new blog aiming at a three-word-keyphrase and followed exactly what George taught in his e-book. The keyphrase got 6,600 global searches per month according to the Google Keyword External Tool and currently the competition number is 969,000 (broad search). After being worried for 3 and a half days I finally found my new blog indexed by Google. My blog is placed by Google on the second page, rank #13.

If I used a phrase search (keyword surrounded by quote) my blog is on the first page, ranked 5th out of 6,200 competition. Cool? I believe so. So far I have written 2 posts only and I’ll have to pump in another 2 or three more posts to push my blog position higher and place an affiliate link there.

What Can You Expect From Google Sniper?

E-book

George wrote a solid tutorial explaining his strategy to dominate Google with blogs containing only 4-5 posts, no serious backlinking work, no commenting on other blogs and no list building at all. The Google Sniper blogs basically are designed to set once and forget. No blackhat works involved. The e-book is 99 pages long plus 8 video tutorials. You will get also a one-month free membership to his sniper club where he added some more cool videos and answer all your questions.

George gave you a chance to see one of his blog that is sending him around $800 every month. The blog has ZERO page rank but it outranks other websites with higher page ranks easily. I typed in his keyword and proved that his site is still number one on Google today so at least I knew that he is not bluffing. Note that I can’t put his link here as I don’t want to expose his keyword.

What Works Needed to Help Google Find Your Newborn Blog Faster

As per his tutorial I made one Youtube video and linked it to the blog. I also use SocialMarker.com to bookmark it. In less than half day my Youtube video was indexed by Google. The bookmarking gave a much faster results, some of them were found by Google one hour after the boring bookmarking works.

I didn’t make a fancy video, in fact it’s only less than one minute video done by the Article Video Robot with a software converting my text into short narration. If you don’t have Camtasia or CamStudio AVR can be an alternative for this job. You also can by all means use your handy cam or mobile phone to make video and send the file to youtube. As I said before you don’t need a fancy high quality video to make your blog getting indexed faster by Google.

I hate social bookmarking but after doing it I don’t need to do it again. The rest work is writing the posts and make them attractive to the people so they will eagerly click on the affiliate link. Some of George’s blogs are highly converting, one of them hit 20% conversion. I know this will come with experience but even 1 or 2 percent is good enough for me considering I still have to find out what post style converting more than others. George taught how to make a better converting sales page so what you have to do is fine tuning his style.

The Cons

I so far haven’t seen a serious drawback except that finding keywords is not as easy as it looks like on the video.

This e-book will help beginners to make their first $ online faster but if you consider your self a real dummy you may find difficulties in finding the right keywords for you. This is the core of your business. Pick up the wrong keywords and you’ll end up making no money, wasting your time, money and efforts. I needed one day mainly to convince myself that I picked up the right one and luckily I followed George’s advise: sometimes we just have to use our intuition. Looking at what my competitors offered I believe that they are making money so I purchased a domain name and built my blog. Now around 50% of my work is done so I will just have to write the persuasive post and leave the blog to set up other niche blogs.

In his e-book George put a link to try Keyword Elite 2.0 for free. It’s a 2-week trial with no credit card needed. I tried it, first time I couldn’t register it so I wrote a ticket to the help desk. I got the answer that the software engineer was taking care of the problem and I’ll be informed as soon as it’s ready. No updates given til today. I tried the link one more time and re-download it. It was successfully registered but I got nothing either from the KE database or the Google search results. I gave up and used my trial version of Market Samurai to find me a long tail keyword. That’s how I found the keyword for my first Sniper blog. In my experience Market Samurai help desk responded faster and better than KE support staff.

Market Samurai, Micro Niche Finder or Keyword Elite will help you find your long tail keywords much faster than the free Google Keyword External Tool, however using one of these software is NOT a must. It just takes longer time to select your keywords if you work without the paid keyword tool. George uses KE 2.0 a lot to find him keywords but if other keywords tools work for you there is no need to buy a new one.

And then something weird happened. The traffic started picking up again and it hit 1806 visits (!) on Sept 28. Google Analytics showed 50% of the visitors were sent by google.com referral and only 3.7% sent by Google organic search. Now the traffic is stable again at 1,000 to 1,200 visits per day and I’m just happy with it.

Here is the screen capture of my blog’s stats. Note that I switched hosting to Hostgator on the Sept 5, 2009 so before that date the number is zero.

This blog had no subscription forms before the rush so I was busy preparing 3 different forms last week. Now I managed to catch 10 people to join my list, all by means of free gifts.

My Adsense income also grows much faster now

I’m still investigating why Google is sending me the good numbers of visitors. Once I find it I can optimize my blog to keep the visitors number grows bigger, or at least stable at current position. I’ve never expected nor imagined I would have a thousand visitors a day so I’m really excited to see what will happen next.
