John Barclay will seek to safe his place in Scotland's Rugby World Cup group with a strong show in the EMC Test with Italy at Murray field on Saturday.

The Glasgow Warriors flanker was this week chosen to pack down for his first spirited action since Scotland defeated Italy in the RBS 6 Nations and is eager to show his worth as head coach Andy Robinson prepares to name his 30-man World Cup squad on Monday.

Barclay said:

"There seems to be a lot of quality back rows around and throughout the squad there's genuine competition. All I can do is play well and hopefully get on the plane. It's up to the coaches - all I can do is trying and prove I'm the best in my position."

Barclay was reserved from club repair by Robinson with the World Cup in mind and the 24-year-old feels refreshed and ready to return to battle.

He said:

"I feel like I've got stronger, fitter, faster - all the goals you're looking for. It's exciting just to get to play rugby again.

"I've not played for five months, I'm a bit nervous, but looking forward to it."

Prior to the Ireland Test on August 6, Barclay had featured in 15 straight matches for Scotland and in 17 of Robinson's 18 fixtures in charge since autumn 2009.

While Barclay appears the number one choice at open side flanker, he is captivating nothing for granted, with Ross Rennie having made his case in his first Scotland start against Ireland.

Barclay extra: "He's a quality player and it's good to have someone to put pressure on. We push each other forward."

New Zealanders are invited to get a taste of the excitement of Rugby World Cup 2011, when the RWC 2011 Road show hits 27 town and city across the country through July. The RWC 2011 Road show which kicks off on July 4 in Bluff will be on the road in a custom-designed truck, housing the Webb Ellis Cup and much more. The truck will open out into a 72sq meter events centre jam-packed with interactive displays and videos on Rugby World Cup history and myths.

Exterior the truck, an exhibition area area will preview a number of of each region's unique REAL New Zealand Festival events which will bring the country to life during September and October. The truck has been painted in the Tournament's distinctive mango pare and koru designs which symbolize the world pending together in union for Rugby's showpiece Tournament.

Rugby New Zealand 2011 Chief Executive Martin Sweden says the Road show will create a real buzz in New Zealand community. The RWC 2011 Road show will help show New Zealanders why this Tournament is so much bigger than just the Rugby. It's going to be a lot of fun so I urge people to come along and get a taste of how special this event is going to be and how they can play a part. During the RWC 2011 Road show, New Zealanders will be able to have their photo taken with the Webb Ellis Cup, enjoy REAL New Zealand Festival events, win or buy RWC 2011 tickets, and find out how they can be fraction of the Tournament during September and October.

France won the correct to host the 2007 World Cup in 2003. And it was subsequently announced that four matches would be held inside Wales, at Cardiff's 74,500 seats Millennium Stadium. Ireland was to contain hosted matches at Lansdowne Road, Dublin, but opted out because the stadium was being redeveloped. Two Pool C matches were played at Edinburgh's Murray field Stadium. There had been speculation that the SRU (Scottish Rugby Union) was having doubts about hosting these games and that the Welsh Rugby Union might be interested in hosting them but the SRU confirmed in April ‘2006’ that the games would be played at Murray sports ground.

There was a substantial increase in the over-all ability of stadiums compared to the 2003 Rugby World Cup the smallest place at the 2007 tournament could seat 33,900 people. The French venues were the same as those used for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Around 6,000 volunteers helped to organize the rivalry. Although the 2007 contest was the 1st to be hosted first and foremost by France, a number of matches during the 1991 and 1999 tournaments were played in France, In 1991, matches in Pool D were played in Bezier, Bayonne, Granola, Toulouse, Brave and Agene, while Pac des Princes and Stadium Lillie Metro pole each hosted a quarter-final. Similarly, in 1999, fixtures in Pool C (which included France) were played in Bezier, Bordeaux and Toulouse. State Felix Collaret was the venue for one of the quarter-final play-offs, and State de France hosted a quarterfinal.
