Let's Talk About Death and Destiny

I wrote this in 2012 when working as a guard, one thing about that job is it gives you a lot of time to think.

First of all let's get it out of the way, EVERYBODY'S going to die, no choice, no excuses accepted, we all start dying the day we're born. Most everybody is terrified of it, and have the hope they'll live forever by denying the truth, and "taking care of themselves," i.e. eating "right", following the advice of their doctor, going to the gym and working their bodies to a sweating frazzle, etc. Most everybody freaks out when a friend or relative dies or is killed saying he/she went too young or had so much to live for or some other drivel. In movies, TV, and books as well as in the law and everyday life the biggest fear, the biggest terror, the biggest punishment is death. Remember we all start to die the moment we're born, but nobody dies before their time.
The truth is dying is like stepping through a door into another room, or changing stools at a bar, it's no different than that. Prior to birth we each determine with the help of others when and to whom we'll be born, the general path of our life, and when/how we'll die. Of course, we don't as a rule remember any of this, there are exceptions, a few remember previous lives, or pre-birth into this life. But most don't.
To those people or those of us who have acquired knowledge but without true experience, the fear of death itself is erased. To us it seems amazing that the average person goes through life fearing the inevitable, to the point that the prospect drives some mad.
It's everyone's destiny, there is no escape. There is no such thing as going too young or before your time. Your life is pre-destined but there is a belief that we're give free will, which can shift the outcome of your life, or not. It's kind of like timeline theory, meaning what if the South had won the Civil War, or what if the Nazi's had won WW II, or what if you leave for work 10 minutes late, or what if anything you can think of. The timeline changes.
Let's say you're in an accident on your way to drop off your kid and go to work when you left late and the kid was killed. If you'd left on time 10 minutes earlier the car that hit you wouldn't have been there, and your time line wouldn't have changed and there'd have been no accident, your child would still be alive. But if the child's destiny was to die at that age and at that time and your destiny was to have an accident it's going to happen unless freewill intervenes again.
My family moved from a small town to a farm when I was a kid, I know that changed my life. At the time I believed it was my parent's decision. Now I know it was their destiny or mine, or simply a change to their timeline changed my destiny. Ultimately we moved to California changing their timeline again and either restoring or changing again my destiny.
Personally I look forward to death, I don't fear it. People say if you're really blessed you'll live a long life becoming elderly. I disagree, for most it entails living on a fixed income, illness of one kind or another, ever growing medical expenses, being taken care of if unable to take care of yourself. I sincerely hope my destiny is to die, like most of the men in my family, I've passed through the late sixties but still have hope for the early seventies, in my sleep or from a relatively painless illness. Failing that is another story.

Why Do the Police Brutalize?

I've posted many times about police brutality, beginning when I found out about the Kelly Thomas murder by 6 Fullerton cops, in 2011. Everybody finds it abhorrent. The focus is on the racial aspects but black, white or purple no one wants to be the next innocent, unarmed child, old person, or whoever to be murdered and the have that murderer claim that he/she was in fear for his/her life, or that murdered reached for his/her waistband and the murderer feared a gun. Those seem to be the most popular excuses. They always seem to be accepted by the administration, and in the rare, very rare, cases that the murderers are brought to trial, are also it seems accepted by the juries.

Black Security Guard Responding to Shooting Is Killed by Police

A black security guard at a bar in the Chicago suburbs was killed by the police as he apparently tried to detain a man he believed to be involved in a shooting, the authorities said Monday.

Officers from several police departments had responded to reports of a shooting early Sunday morning at Manny’s Luxury Lounge in Robbins, Ill., said Sophia Ansari, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses told the police that a fight had broken out and someone had started shooting. After the authorities responded, a police officer shot the guard, Jemel Roberson, 26, who had a gun, Ms. Ansari said. Mr. Roberson died at the hospital.

Witnesses said that people in the crowd had yelled to arriving police officers that Mr. Roberson, who was wearing gear that read “Security,” was a guard. Ms. Ansari confirmed that Mr. Roberson worked for the bar.

This episode happened as many Republican politicians, including President Trump, have responded to mass shootings across the United States by calling for more people to protectively carry guns. After a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue left 11 people dead, Mr. Trump suggested that people carrying firearms during services would have helped.

Ms. Ansari said that five people were shot during the episode at the bar. The injuries sustained by four of those people, including the man believed to have initially opened fire, were not life threatening, she said.

An officer with the Midlothian Police Department shot Mr. Roberson, Ms. Ansari said. The Midlothian police chief, Dan Delaney, confirmed in a statement that one of his officers had shot a “subject with a gun.” He did not name the officer.

Ms. Ansari said the man who initially opened fire at the bar had not yet been charged. She said he was still at a hospital.

The shooting of Mr. Roberson is being investigated by the Illinois State Police, who did not return a call for comment.

Family friends of Mr. Roberson’s said he had worked as an organist at several local churches and had once dreamed of becoming a police officer himself, according to local news reports. Mr. Roberson had a state firearm owner’s identification card, Ms. Ansari said, which authorized his possession of firearms.

Mr. Roberson had planned to play later that day at New Spiritual Light Baptist Church, the pastor, Walter Turner, told the local ABC affiliate.

“How in the world does the security guard get shot by the police?” Pastor Turner said. “A young man that was literally just doing his job, and now he’s gone.”

Hell Is Empty, All The Devils Are Here

Watching an episode of Route 66, and it had that title. But that's the difference between here in 1962 and here now fifty some years later. Then the devils were still in hell mostly, now they are here among us. They occupy the government at all levels. Devils are throughout the military and law enforcement. Have you ever wondered how someone can deliberately shoot an unarmed person in the back? I have. Are they that evil or just so incompetent or terrified that it happens? How do they justify it, lying about it, to us and themselves?

One conclusion is that peoples bodies have been taken over, whether by devils, or aliens, whatever, it doesn't matter, or perhaps there've been a lot, a lot, of psychotic's born who are drawn to politics, the military and law enforcement. You just need to observe to see this country, this world, and the people in it are becoming more corrupt, more murderous by the day.

Lincoln was a War Criminal: it’s a FACT!

President Lincoln, who is considered by most historians (or at least the politically correct ones) to be the best and certainly the most important U.S. President, wielded power in a fashion never seen before nor since. The fact that he died as a martyr is why history has viewed him in such a kind albeit sanitized light.

During the Civil War, Lincoln continuously circumvented the law and in many cases suspended the Constitution altogether. In doing so, Lincoln denied the rights of citizens he was sworn to protect. He suspended the writ of Habeas Corpus, closed courts by force, and arrested citizens and elected officials without cause. Lincoln also raised troops without the consent of Congress, closed-down newspapers whose writers displayed any dissent to U.S. policy.

Lincoln’s troops razed the South and doomed to poverty–generations of Southerners for many years to come. General Sherman‘s “March to the Sea” was nothing more than a marauding rampage filled with robbery, rape, and murder. These men were less soldiers on a military mission and more common thugs on a crime spree. Northern armies brought war to women, children, and privately held property as a matter of official policy (rather than as so-called “collateral damage”).

Lincoln ordered the arrest of Baltimore police chief George P. Kane, police commissioner Charles Howard, as well as fellow commissioners: William H. Gatchell, John W. Davis, and Charles D. Hinks. Baltimore Mayor George W. Brown was arrested and sent to Fort McHenry. The men were incarcerated because they dared to publicly disagree with Lincoln and refused to carry-out the President’s tyrannical orders.

Baltimore was placed under federal control and a military police force was formed.

Both the continents of Europe and South America ended the practice of slavery, and unlike the United States government–they did so without murdering 700,000 of their own citizens. The abhorrent practice of slavery could have and would have been ended in this country, without ever firing a shot.

Contrary to popular belief (as perpetuated by government schools), slavery was a national institution, it was not unique to the South. Upon his inauguration, Lincoln could have freed the slaves in the Northern states which would have put severe diplomatic pressure on the South. However, Lincoln besides being a tyrant was also an incredible hypocrite. Lincoln’s multitude of personal letters show his outright disgust for the black man and his truly racist views.

Consider a few rarely spoken facts:

-Northern General U.S. Grant continued to hold a slave for nearly a year after the war. In fact, it took an act of Congress to finally free the man from Grant’s possession.
-Northern General Tecumseh Sherman was arrested many times for brutally abusing several of his slaves.
Conversely, Confederate General Robert E. Lee freed all of his slaves prior to the start of the war. That act by the military leader of the South truly displays that for the Confederacy, the war was only about states’ rights and a just rebellion against tyranny–not about slavery!

Lincoln’s War (otherwise known as the Civil War), was much less about freeing oppressed blacks and much more about the federal government exerting complete control over all citizens. Lincoln’s actions were a direct assault upon the wishes of our founding fathers. Lincoln cared very little for the rule of law, as evidenced by his numerous suspensions of U.S. Constitutional rights.

I believe that had Lincoln survived his second term–his place in this nation’s history would be seen in a much different light. Furthermore, had the Civil War ended with a different outcome, Lincoln and many of his generals would have been deservedly tried as war criminals.

Of course, the victors write the history books–even when they tell lies.

LINCOLN’S CRIMES

1. Lincoln waged a war that cost the lives of 620,000 Americans. Including the murder of 50,000 innocent Southern civilians.

2. He arrested several thousand Marylanders suspected of Southern sympathies, including 30 members of the State legislature, a US Congressman representing Maryland, the mayor and police commissioner of Baltimore, and most of the Baltimore city council. These political detainees were imprisoned in Fort McHenry and Point Lookout without trial, in many cases, for several years.

3. He suspended the writ of habeas corpus without the consent of Congress (as required by the Constitution).

4. He illegally shut down and confiscated the printing presses of dozens of newspapers that had spoken out against him.

5. He re-instated and summarily promoted an Army officer who had been court martialed and cashiered by the US Army for war crimes.

6. He even had an arrest warrant issued for the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court because said justice refused to back his illegal actions.

7. Chief Justice Roger B Taney ruled that Lincolns actions were illegal, criminal and unconstitutional.

8. He invaded the South without the consent of Congress as required by the Constitution.

9. He blockaded Southern ports without a delclaration of war, as required by the Constitution.

10. He imprisoned without trial, hundreds of newspaper editors and owners and censored all newspaper and telegraph communication.

11. He created two new states without the consent of the citizens of those states in order to artificially inflate the Republican Partys electoral vote.

12. He ordered Federal troops to interfere with Northern elections to assure his Parties victories.

13. He confiscated private property, including firearms, in violation of the Second Amendment; and effectively gutted the Tenth and Ninth Amendments as well.

14. He had his Generals attack US cities full of women and children and burn them to the ground.

Still not convinced? Well let’s look at some really really hard facts that will be hard for you to swallow. The follow was written by Thomas J. DiLorenz.

One hundred thirty-six years after General Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox, Americans are still fascinated with the War for Southern Independence. The larger bookstores devote an inordinate amount of shelf space to books about the events and personalities of the war; Ken Burns’s “Civil War” television series and the movie “Gettysburg” were blockbuster hits; dozens of new books on the war are still published every year; and a monthly newspaper, Civil War News, lists literally hundreds of seminars, conferences, reenactments, and memorial events related to the war in all 50 states and the District of Columbia all year long. Indeed, many Northerners are “still fighting the war” in that they organize a political mob whenever anyone attempts to display a Confederate heritage symbol in any public place.

Americans are still fascinated by the war because many of us recognize it as the defining event in American history. Lincoln’s war established myriad precedents that have shaped the course of American government and society ever since: the centralization of governmental power, central banking, income taxation, protectionism, military conscription, the suspension of constitutional liberties, the “rewriting” of the Constitution by federal judges, “total war,” the quest for a worldwide empire, and the notion that government is one big “problem solver.”

Perhaps the most hideous precedent established by Lincoln’s war, however, was the intentional targeting of defenseless civilians. Human beings did not always engage in such barbaric acts as we have all watched in horror in recent days. Targeting civilians has been a common practice ever since World War II, but its roots lie in Lincoln’s war.

In 1863 there was an international convention in Geneva, Switzerland, that sought to codify international law with regard to the conduct of war. What the convention sought to do was to take the principles of “civilized” warfare that had evolved over the previous century, and declare them to be a part of international law that should be obeyed by all civilized societies. Essentially, the convention concluded that it should be considered to be a war crime, punishable by imprisonment or death, for armies to attack defenseless citizens and towns; plunder civilian property; or take from the civilian population more than what was necessary to feed and sustain an occupying army.

The Swiss jurist Emmerich de Vattel (1714-67, author of The Law of Nations, was the world’s expert on the proper conduct of war at the time. “The people, the peasants, the citizens, take no part in it, and generally have nothing to fear from the sword of the enemy,” Vattel wrote. As long as they refrain from hostilities themselves they “live in as perfect safety as if they were friends.” Occupying soldiers who would destroy private property should be regard as “savage barbarians.”

In 1861 the leading American expert in international law as it relates to the proper conduct of war was the San Francisco attorney Henry Halleck, a former army officer and West Point instructor whom Abraham Lincoln appointed General-in-Chief of the federal armies in July of 1862. Halleck was the author of the book, International Law, which was used as a text at West Point and essentially echoed Vattel’s writing.

On April 24, 1863, the Lincoln administration seemed to adopt the precepts of international law as expressed by the Geneva Convention, Vattel, and Halleck, when it issued General Order No. 100, known as the “Lieber Code.” The Code’s author was the German legal scholar Francis Leiber, an advisor to Otto von Bismarck and a staunch advocate of centralized governmental power. In his writings Lieber denounced the federal system of government created by the American founding fathers as having created “confederacies of petty sovereigns” and dismissed the Jeffersonian philosophy of government as a collection of “obsolete ideas.” In Germany he was arrested several times for subversive activities. He was a perfect ideological fit with Lincoln’s own political philosophy and was just the man Lincoln wanted to outline the rules of war for his administration.

The Lieber Code paid lip service to the notion that civilians should not be targeted in war, but it contained a giant loophole: Federal commanders were permitted to completely ignore the Code if, “in their discretion,” the events of the war would warrant that they do so. In other words, the Lieber Code was purely propaganda.

The fact is, the Lincoln government intentionally targeted civilians from the very beginning of the war. The administration’s battle plan was known as the “Anaconda Plan” because it sought to blockade all Southern ports and inland waterways and starving the Southern civilian economy. Even drugs and medicines were on the government’s list of items that were to be kept out of the hands of Southerners, as far as possible.

As early as the first major battle of the war, the Battle of First Manassas in July of 1861, federal soldiers were plundering and burning private homes in the Northern Virginia countryside. Such behavior quickly became so pervasive that on June 20, 1862 – one year into the war – General George McClellan, the commanding general of the Army of the Potomac, wrote Lincoln a letter imploring him to see to it that the war was conducted according to “the highest principles known to Christian civilization” and to avoid targeting the civilian population to the extent that that was possible. Lincoln replaced McClellan a few months later and ignored his letter.

Most Americans are familiar with General William Tecumseh Sherman’s “march to the sea” in which his army pillaged, plundered, raped, and murdered civilians as it marched through Georgia in the face of scant military opposition. But such atrocities had been occurring for the duration of the war; Sherman’s March was nothing new.

In 1862 Sherman was having difficulty subduing Confederate sharpshooters who were harassing federal gunboats on the Mississippi River near Memphis. He then adopted the theory of “collective responsibility” to “justify” attacking innocent civilians in retaliation for such attacks. He burned the entire town of Randolph, Tennessee, to the ground. He also began taking civilian hostages and either trading them for federal prisoners of war or executing them.

Jackson and Meridian, Mississippi, were also burned to the ground by Sherman’s troops even though there was no Confederate army there to oppose them. After the burnings his soldiers sacked the town, stealing anything of value and destroying the rest. As Sherman biographer John Marzalek writes, his soldiers “entered residences, appropriating whatever appeared to be of value . . . those articles which they could not carry they broke.”

After the destruction of Meridian Sherman boasted that “for five days, ten thousand of our men worked hard and with a will, in that work of destruction, with axes, sledges, crowbars, clawbars, and with fire…. Meridian no longer exists.”

In The Hard Hand of War historian Mark Grimsley argues that Sherman has been unfairly criticized as the “father” of waging war on civilians because he “pursued a policy quite in keeping with that of other Union commanders from Missouri to Virginia.” Fair enough. Why blame just Sherman when such practices were an essential part of Lincoln’s entire war plan and were routinely practiced by all federal commanders? Sherman was just the most zealous of all federal commanders in targeting Southern civilians, which is apparently why he became one of Lincoln’s favorite generals.

In his First Inaugural Address Jefferson said that any secessionists should be allowed to “stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it.” But by 1864 Sherman would announce that “to the petulant and persistent secessionists, why, death is mercy.” In 1862 Sherman wrote his wife that his purpose in the war would be “extermination, not of soldiers alone, that is the least of the trouble, but the people” of the South. His loving and gentle wife wrote back that her wish was for “a war of extermination and that all [Southerners] would be driven like swine into the sea. May we carry fire and sword into their states till not one habitation is left standing.”

The Geneva Convention of 1863 condemned the bombardment of cities occupied by civilians, but Lincoln ignored all such restrictions on his behavior. The bombardment of Atlanta destroyed 90 percent of the city, after which the remaining civilian residents were forced to depopulate the city just as winter was approaching and the Georgia countryside had been stripped of food by the federal army. In his memoirs Sherman boasted that his army destroyed more than $100 million in private property and carried home $20 million more during his “march to the sea.”

Sherman was not above randomly executing innocent civilians as part of his (and Lincoln’s) terror campaign. In October of 1864 he ordered a subordinate, General Louis Watkins, to go to Fairmount, Georgia, “burn ten or twelve houses” and “kill a few at random,” and “let them know that it will be repeated every time a train is fired upon.”

Another Sherman biographer, Lee Kennett, found that in Sherman’s army “the New York regiments were . . . filled with big city criminals and foreigners fresh from the jails of the Old World.” Although it is rarely mentioned by “mainstream” historians, many acts of rape were committed by these federal soldiers. The University of South Carolina’s library contains a large collection of thousands diaries and letters of Southern women that mention these unspeakable atrocities.

Shermans’ band of criminal looters (known as “bummers”) sacked the slave cabins as well as the plantation houses. As Grimsley describes it, “With the utter disregard for blacks that was the norm among Union troops, the soldiers ransacked the slave cabins, taking whatever they liked.” A routine procedure would be to hang a slave by his neck until he told federal soldiers where the plantation owners’ valuables were hidden.

General Philip Sheridan is another celebrated “war hero” who followed in Sherman’s footsteps in attacking defenseless civilians. After the Confederate army had finally evacuated the Shenandoah Valley in the autumn of 1864 Sheridan’s 35,000 infantry troops essentially burned the entire valley to the ground. As Sheridan described it in a letter to General Grant, in the first few days he “destroyed over 2200 barns . . . over 70 mills . . . have driven in front of the army over 4000 head of stock, and have killed . . . not less than 3000 sheep. . . . Tomorrow I will continue the destruction.”

In letters home Sheridan’s troops described themselves as “barn burners” and “destroyers of homes.” One soldier wrote home that he had personally set 60 private homes on fire and opined that “it was a hard looking sight to see the women and children turned out of doors at this season of the year.” A Sergeant William T. Patterson wrote that “the whole country around is wrapped in flames, the heavens are aglow with the light thereof . . . such mourning, such lamentations, such crying and pleading for mercy [by defenseless women]… I never saw or want to see again.”

As horrific as the burning of the Shenandoah Valley was, Grimsley concluded that it was actually “one of the more controlled acts of destruction during the war’s final year.” After it was all over Lincoln personally conveyed to Sheridan “the thanks of the Nation.”

Sherman biographer Lee Kennett is among the historians who bend over backwards to downplay the horrors of how Lincoln waged war on civilians. Just recently, he published an article in the Atlanta Constitution arguing that Sherman wasn’t such a bad guy after all and should not be reviled by Georgians as much as he is. But even Kennett admitted in his biography of Sherman that:

Had the Confederates somehow won, had their victory put them in position to bring their chief opponents before some sort of tribunal, they would have found themselves justified…in stringing up President Lincoln and the entire Union high command for violations of the laws of war, specifically for waging war against noncombatants.

Sherman himself admitted after the war that he was taught at West Point that he could be hanged for the things he did. But in war the victors always write the history and are never punished for war crimes, no matter how heinous. Only the defeated suffer that fate. That is why very few Americans are aware of the fact that the unspeakable atrocities of war committed against civilians, from the firebombing of Dresden, the rape of Nanking, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, to the World Trade Center bombings, had their origins in Lincoln’s war. This is yet another reason why Americans will continue their fascination with the War for Southern Independence.

Lawyers Are Trained To Lie, Aren't They?

It certainly would seem so, look at Hillary, Web Hubbell, most of all the lying sacks of excrement in Washington, etc. Pretty much proves my case eh? I once told a lawyer that, and to say that he became upset, and told me I was wrong is a severe understatement, to say the least, the very least. But look around, make up your own mind. But in my mind Perry Mason is dead, and there are no honest lawyers left.

MYTHS OF LAWYERS

Lawyers today are in a moral crisis. The popular perception of the lawyer, both within the legal community and beyond, is no longer the Abe Lincoln of American mythology, but is often a greedy, cynical manipulator of access and power.

It is important to note that the loss of professionalism is more than merely the emergence of win-at-all-cost strategies and a scramble for personal wealth. It is something more profound-a loss of professional community and soul.

Many lawyers in fact are plagued with addictions -money, alcohol, sex, and drugs-thus many are committing crimes of their own to maintain their status quo.

Lawyers, whether practice or non- practice, are a section of the population that separates themselves from the rest of the lot.

Lawyers have intitlements that no others have and as result they are place in positions where they abuse their power.

If the law profession is to survive it must revive their creative capacities and develop a meaningful, professional mythology-one based on a deeper understanding of professionalism and a broader, more compassionate ideal of justice.

They also must recognize that keeping the monopoly, wherein it is imbedded in law, only makes the rest of the population want to revolt against them.

Until lawyers do not take a positive stand and continue to participate in the erosion of our democracy, the profession of lawyerism will soon be a thing of the past.

The legal profession is on the brink of fundamental change according to author Richard Susskind, in the book, entitled, The End of Lawyers?

In the first of six draft excerpts from his forthcoming book, Richard Susskind lays down a challenge to all lawyers.

THE END OF LAWYERS

All of us, whether professionals or not, must decide which master we serve. In the case of lawyers, it is without doubt that their master is money and as a result, there cannot be any honesty with any of them.
Mr. David Marston, who served on different US administration as attorney general, including serving on the administration of George W. Bush as A-G, wrote a book entitled, Malice-Aforethought: How Lawyers Use Our Rules to Get Nch, Get Sex, Get Even, and Get Away Wth It.

Mr. Marston attacks the lack of ethics of the legal profession. He believes that attorneys breaching their professional code of ethics fall into four (4) categories:

i. Lawyers who use their legal training to break the law or commit crimes in the course of their practice.

ii. Lawyers who violate any important ethical rule of the legal profession. Not surprisingly, there are big rules and little rules and lots of technicalities, so the focus here will be on significant professional misconduct, not a minor infractions.

iii. Lawyers who use their legal training to do things they should be ashamed to tell their mothers.

It is worth asking ourselves the question as to whether we are also "Unindicted Co-Conspirators" when we choose to not go up against the system when we know the truth.

The following is worth keeping in mind, when we see ourselves fall on the wayside:

for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret;

The Sinfulness of Mankind

The following are the myths:

Lawyers are liars.

Untrue. Lawyers are not trained to lie. They are trained to twist the truth. There is a huge difference. You can be caught in a lie.

When you twist the truth, you cannot be caught; it's just a matter of interpretation.

A friend who teaches tax law gives the same introductory speech at the beginning of every semester.

He asks, "are there any accountants in the class?" Two or three hands go up. He says to them, "You're going to have trouble in this class.

To you, numbers describe the truth. In tax law, there is no one truth. You push and pull on the numbers until they say what you want them to say."

If you can make numbers say what you want, are words any problem?

The distinction is important, because we normally decide if someone is lying by looking for psychological cues: shifty eyes, covering the mouth, or dodging questions.

When someone is professionally trained to twist the truth, they don't give those signs.

When you speak to a lawyer, don't worry too much about lies - but always, always remember that you are in the reality distortion zone.
Lawyers are trained to think clearly.

Untrue. Lawyers -in terms of coming to the right conclusion about the real world -are some of the worst thinkers on the planet Earth. Because of their tendency to twist reality, they have a fantastic gift for sounding logical while missing the broad side of the barn.

It is more accurate to say lawyers are trained to think logically within the framework of law -as chess players think within the framework of chess. (There is a very old saying, "The law sharpens a mind by narrowing it.")
Would you go to a chess player for advice on your life? On business?

Somewhere, I can hear somebody answering, "Hmm, well, umm ... if he had a nice pinstripe suit ... if she drove a BMW ...

The main problem with lawyers is high bills.

Completely untrue. The main problem with lawyers is that most of what they do is useless, or actually harmful to their own client. U.S. President Thomas Jefferson -a lawyer himself -said in 1807 that, "It is the business of a lawyer to question everything, produce nothing, and bill by the hour."
Billing, you notice, comes last. And not much has changed with lawyers.

Of the 27,342 lawyer jokes out there, most deal with high bills, lies, and dishonesty.

In 1987, a group of geneticists published a surprising study in the journal Nature. The researchers examined the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) taken from 147 people across all of today's major racial groups. These researchers found that the lineage of all people alive today falls on one of two branches in humanity's family tree. One of these branches consists of nothing but African lineage, the other contains all other groups, including some African lineage.
Even more impressive, the geneticists concluded that every person on Earth right now can trace his or her lineage back to a single common female ancestor who lived around 200,000 years ago. Because one entire branch of human lineage is of African origin and the other contains African lineage as well, the study's authors concluded Africa is the place where this woman lived. The scientists named this common female ancestor Mitochondrial Eve....

Even though biologists have shown that all people are descended from one person, this does not mean that only one female was alive at that time. It simply means only one set of genes have been passed down from a single point in history. Most researchers agree that “Eve” was not the only women alive because the fossil record shows much older specimens. From “Java man” at about 800,000 years to “Lucy”, the earliest known remains which are approximately 1-4 million years old.
There are several theories about how just one set of genes could have survived. The most likely is a bottleneck of the human population that would set the stage for an evolutionary “lucky mother”. There have been several possible bottlenecks in history. One report, written in 1998, showed approximately 70,000 years ago humanity was down to around 15,000 people. It showed the reason behind the bottleneck was an ice age that lasted about a 1,000 years.
Other reasons bottlenecks could have happened are: an asteroid impact or volcanic eruption causing drastic climate change; a continuous, widespread plague; or any situation that caused male offspring to have a better chance of survival, leaving relatively few women around to pass on their genes. While no definitive proof exists that these occurred, most researchers believe a combination of one or all of these factors are behind why we all have a common ancestor.

n the first day of 1987, a scientific “discovery” seized the attention of the popular press. The original scientific article that caused all the commotion—“Mitochondrial DNA and Human Evolution”—appeared in the January 1, 1987 issue of Nature, and was authored by Rebecca Cann, Mark Stoneking, and Allan C. Wilson (see Cann, et al., 1987). These three scientists announced that they had “proven” that all modern human beings can trace their ancestry back to a single woman who lived 200,000 years ago in Africa. This one woman was nicknamed “Eve” (a.k.a., “mitochondrial Eve”)—much to the media’s delight. An article in the January 26, 1987 issue of Time magazine bore the headline, “Everyone’s Genealogical Mother: Biologists Speculate that ‘Eve’ Lived in Sub-Saharan Africa” (Lemonick, 1987). A year later, that “speculation” became a major Newsweek production titled, “The Search for Adam and Eve” (Tierney, et al., 1988). The provocative front cover presented a snake, tree, and a nude African couple in a “Garden of Eden” type setting. The biblical-story imagery was reinforced by showing the woman offering an apple to the man.
A word of explanation is in order. For decades, evolutionists had been trying to determine the specific geographical origin of humans—whether we all came from one specific locale, or whether there were many small pockets of people placed around the globe. When they set out to determine the specific geographical origin of humans, a curious piece of data came to light. As they considered various human populations, Africans seemed to show much more genetic variation than non-Africans (i.e., Asians, Europeans, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, et al.). According to molecular biologists, this increased variability is the result of African populations being older, thus, having had more time to accumulate mutations and diverge from one another. This assumption led some researchers to postulate that Africa was the ancient “cradle of civilization” from which all of humanity had emerged.

This is why the world wide survey was able to determine that all people are related via some original mother which they called the "mitochondrial Eve". They produced ancestral trees that depended on the slow mutation rate of mitochondrial DNA to estimate how the whole human population came from a single woman.
After the initial discovery of the "mitochondrial Eve", Wilson felt uneasy about using the term "Eve" because it caused many to think that she was the only woman living at that time, much like what is written in Genesis of the Bible concerning Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Also, the usual evolutionary time-scale for man did not allow such a short time as 200,000 years. Rather, it is believed that man has been around for a much longer period of time. Java man is thought to be 800,000 years old. Homo erectus specimens are found all throughout the world. Over forty specimens of Asian Homo erectus which have been found in China, have been dated 220,000 to 500,000 years of age. Lucy, and the earliest remains of specimens that are thought to be of the first to stand upright, are thought to be at least 1 to 4 million years of age.
So, because the presence of man is thought to have been around for a much longer period of time than just 200,000 years, it was concluded that the mitochondrial Eve must not have been the first human female nor would she have been the only female alive at the time. Evolutionists have come to believe that Eve must have been one of many women of her time, in a genetic bottleneck. A time when there were a tiny population of people alive.
It is not known why the human population would became so depleted in a bottleneck. Some suggests that environmental pressures could have brought the human population almost to extinction. It has even been suggested, that the ability to speak languages was a reason why only one group survived over all others. All sorts of reasons have been offered to explain why bottlenecks would exist: a continuous plaque, asteroid impact, or a climate change are just a few of the many ideas.
Many suggest that Eve must have had some vast superiority because her offspring are thought to have conquered the whole world without any evidence of any interbreeding.

[Broadcast] This is Jane Fonda. During my two week visit in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, I've had the opportunity to visit a great many places and speak to a large number of people from all walks of life- workers, peasants, students, artists and dancers, historians, journalists, film actresses, soldiers, militia girls, members of the women's union, writers.
I visited the (Dam Xuac) agricultural coop, where the silk worms are also raised and thread is made. I visited a textile factory, a kindergarten in Hanoi. The beautiful Temple of Literature was where I saw traditional dances and heard songs of resistance. I also saw unforgettable ballet about the guerrillas training bees in the south to attack enemy soldiers. The bees were danced by women, and they did their job well.
In the shadow of the Temple of Literature I saw Vietnamese actors and actresses perform the second act of Arthur Miller's play All My Sons, and this was very moving to me- the fact that artists here are translating and performing American plays while US imperialists are bombing their country.

Background of Jane Fonda's Anti-War Activities
While American Soldiers were fighting and dying in the Vietnam War, Jane Fonda, the daughter of Henry Fonda, was using her money and influence at colleges and universities to gather support to advocate communism and encourage rebellion and anarchy against the United States Government.

On November 21, 1970 she told a University of Michigan audience of some two thousand students, "If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist." At Duke University in North Carolina she repeated what she had said in Michigan, adding "I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism. " Washington Times July 7, 2000

Jane Fonda began her participation in anti-war activities around 1967, allegedly after meeting with Communists while in France and with American citizens who were revolutionaries. Her activities included active participation in demonstrations, rallies, radio broadcasts and plays.

Jane Fonda also helped in the organization of a production group called the F.T.A. (F*** The Army). This group helped to set up coffee houses near military bases where they would perform anti-war derogatory-type sketches for the visiting soldiers. The coffee-house sketches were intended to counterpoint the U.S.O. shows, such as Bob Hope and other U.S.O. sponsored performers whose performances increased morale and gave positive support to American soldiers. Some of the F.T.A. coffee house employees would mingle with the soldiers to help them to "relax and unwind", while encouraging the soldiers to desert. Some soldiers alleged that they were promised jobs and money by the F.T.A. if they deserted.......

In an effort to explain why she made her broadcasts over Radio Hanoi, Fonda writes in her autobiography that she had mainly wanted to educate U.S. pilots about the great harm their bombing campaigns were inflicting on innocent people. But in fact, most of what Fonda said was of a highly political nature. Many of the statements had been scripted for her by the North Vietnamese. Among her statements were the following (as catalogued by Henry Mark Holzer):

"I want to publicly accuse Nixon here of being a new-type Hitler whose crimes are being unveiled."

"The Vietnamese people will win."

"Nixon is continuing to risk your [American pilots'] lives and the lives of the American prisoners of war . . . in a last desperate gamble to keep his office come November. How does it feel to be used as pawns? You may be shot down, you may perhaps even be killed, but for what, and for whom?"

"[President Nixon] defiles our flag and all that it stands for in the eyes of the entire world."

"Knowing who was doing the lying, should you then allow these same people and some liars to define for you who your enemy is?"

"The only way to end the war is for the United States to withdraw all its troops, all its airplanes, its bombs, its generals, its CIA advisors and to stop the support of the . . . regime in Saigon . . . ."

"There is only one way to stop Richard Nixon from committing mass genocide in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and that is for a mass protest . . . to expose his crimes . . . ."

"In 1969-1970 the desertions in the American army tripled. The desertions of the U.S. soldiers almost equaled the desertions from the ARVN army . . . ."

"Perhaps the soldiers . . . who have suffered the most . . . [are] the black soldiers, the brown soldiers, and the red and Asian soldiers."

"Should we be fighting on the side of the people who are, who are murdering innocent people, should we be trying to defend a government in Saigon which is putting in jail tens of thousands of people into the tiger cages, beating them, torturing them . . . . And I don't think . . . that we should be risking our lives or fighting to defend that kind of government."

"We . . . have a common enemy—U. S. imperialism."

"We thank you [the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese] for your brave and heroic fight."

"Nixon's aggression against Vietnam is a racist aggression [and] the American war in Vietnam is a racist war, a white man's war."

"I heard horrifying stories about the treatment of women in the U.S. military. So many women said to me that one of the first things that happens to them when they enter the service is that they are taken to see the company psychiatrist and they are given a little lecture which is made very clear to them that they are there to service the men."

"The POWs appear to be healthy and fit. . . . All of them have called publicly for an end to the war and signed a powerful antiwar letter . . . ."

"A few of them [the POWs] tell me they, too, are against the war and want Nixon to be defeated in the upcoming elections. They express their fear that if he is reelected, the war will go on and on . . . and that bombs might land on their prison."

"I am asked to convey their [the POWs'] hopes that their families will vote for George McGovern."

"I ask them [POWs] if they feel they have been brainwashed or tortured, and they laugh."

"We read with interest about the growing numbers of you [South Vietnam Army troops] who are understanding the truth and joining with your fellow countrymen to fight for freedom and independence and democracy [i.e., with the Communists]. . . . We think that this is an example of the fact that the democratic, peace-loving, patriotic Vietnamese people want to embrace all Vietnamese people in forgiveness, open their arms to all people who are willing to fight against the foreign intruder....

In a 2011 biography of Jane Fonda, author Patricia Bosworth revealed a lifelong lament by the actress: “My biggest regret” Bosworth quotes Fonda as having said during a “feminist consciousness-raising session,” “is I never got to f*** Che Guevara.” ....

Fonda called returning POWs "hypocrites and liars," adding, "These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed. ... Pilots were saying it was the policy of the Vietnamese and that it was systematic. I believe that's a lie."

More to the point, in a 1995 interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bui Tin, a communist contemporary of Giap and Ho Chi Minh, who was serving as an NVA colonel assigned to the general staff at the time Saigon fell, had this to say about the Leftmedia and Soviet puppets like "Hanoi" Jane Fonda and John Kerry: "[They were] essential to our strategy. Support of the war from our rear was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi by people like Jane Fonda, and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses."
Bui stated further, "Those people represented the conscience of America. The conscience of America was part of its war-making capability, and we were turning that power in our favor. America lost because of its democracy; through dissent and protest it lost the ability to mobilize a will to win."

In 1999, Jane Fonda was to be honored as one of ABC's "100 Women of the Century." Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country but men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam.

There are several 'Urban legend' accounts of Hanoi Jane's treason and treachery. The most popular is attributed to F-4E pilot, Jerry Driscoll. This alleged incident is proveably false, even by Driscoll himself. For the truth in Jane Fonda's crimes and disgusting behavior, read the book titled: Aid and Comfort, written by Henry and Erika Holzer.

However, the following account is true....
"I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held for over 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement, one year in a cage in Cambodia, and one year in a "black box" in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border.

At one time, I was weighing approximately 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.) We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals.'
When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with Jane Fonda. I said yes, for I would like to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received different from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by Jane Fonda, as "humane and lenient." Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees with outstretched arms with a large amount of steel placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane till my arms dipped. I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda for a couple of hours after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She did not answer me." To add insult to injury, when American POWs finally began to return home (some of them having been held captive for up to nine years) and describe the tortures they had endured at the hands of the North Vietnamese, Jane Fonda quickly told the country that they should "not hail the POWs as heroes, because they are hypocrites and liars." Fonda said the idea that the POWs she had met in Vietnam had been tortured was "laughable," claiming: "These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed." The POWs who said they had been tortured were "exaggerating, probably for their own self-interest," she asserted. She told audiences that "Never in the history of the United States have POWs come home looking like football players. These football players are no more heroes than Custer was. They're military careerists and professional killers" who are "trying to make themselves look self-righteous, but they are war criminals according to law."

Were Jane Fonda's actions treason, or were they the exercise of a private citizen's right to freedom of speech? At the time, the legal aspects of this question were moot: President Nixon was engaged in trying to wind down American involvement in Vietnam and had to face another election in a few months, so politically he had far more to lose than to gain by making a martyr out of a prominent anti-war activist. (No requirement in either the Constitution or federal law states that the U.S. must be engaged in a declared war -- or any war at all -- before charges of treason can be brought against an individual.)

On the one hand, Jane Fonda provided no tangible military assistance to the North Vietnamese: she divulged no military secrets, she gave them no money or material, and she did not interfere with the operations of the American forces. Her actions, offensive as they were to many, were primarily of propaganda value only. On the other hand, Iva Ikuko Toguri (also known as "Tokyo Rose") was convicted of treason for making propaganda broadcasts on behalf of the Japanese during World War II (although she claimed her betrayal was forced and was eventually pardoned many years later by President Gerald Ford), and Fonda's efforts could fall under the definition of "giving aid and comfort to the enemy." It is also undeniable that some American soldiers came to harm as a direct result of Fonda's actions, an outcome she should reasonably have anticipated.

The above is taken from several articles, and may be considered somewhat one sided I suppose, but of course as I said above I have my own opinion. Fonda admits to being a communist and radical. My suggestion is take this as a starting point, and do your own research.

God Said: Thou Shalt Not Kill!!! Really? Somebody had better tell most of humanity.

This thought woke me out of a sound sleep this morning. If that being, he/she/it, that we call God did in fact meet with Moses on the mountain and did in fact give him ten commandments and one of those was THOU SHALT NOT KILL, something is very wrong. First of all notice that they were commandments, not rules, not laws, not suggestions, they were COMMANDS. Second notice that it was Thou Shalt NOT Kill, not thou shalt not kill unless, or except, it was NOT.
As to the ten commandments, people, all people, have been cheerfully breaking each on a daily basis since they were given to us. We all say one thing, that we are believers and go to church to demonstrate our belief, and then go ahead and do something else, proving we are not believers at all.
Back to Thou Shalt Not Kill, just that one, shows that all people are evil.
I can't count the times that I've read, in reference to some one hurting or killing another person, he/she should be shot/hung/suffer the death penalty. In other words killed, in direct opposition to what he/she/it/God commanded.
Of course, our predilection to killing each other, is a form of population control. We haven't seen anything like the plague for a long time, it hasn't been needed as we're killing each other instead.
Unfortunately, the thought that woke me up is gone, and I'm starting to flounder.

During our recent past there have been numerous archaeological discoveries made, that defy any rational explanation, based upon currently accepted beliefs regarding the history of mankind.

According to conventionally acknowledged historical wisdom, the first signs of a “civilised” society appearing on this planet occurred approximately 5,000 years ago around 3,000BC in a land known then as Sumer (present day Iraq). From this original hub of early civilisation sprang forth modern day cultures and societies, and since then a documented account of conventional history has been formulated and established.

But what if our historians got it completely wrong?

The Piri Reis Map

In 1929, a group of historians, whilst searching old documents in Constantinople, found a map on a dusty old shelf hidden away in the archives. It had been painstakingly created on a piece of gazelle skin.

Research has since confirmed that it is a genuine document drawn in 1513 by Piri Reis, a famous admiral of the Turkish fleet during the sixteenth century.

His passion was cartography. His high rank within the Turkish navy allowed him privileged access to the Imperial Library of Constantinople, from whence he obtained ancient source maps which enabled him to compile an archaeological wonder, today known as the Piri Reis Map.

The Turkish admiral admits in a series of notes he wrote on the map that he compiled and copied the data from a large number of source maps, some of which dated way back to the fourth century BC and much earlier.

The map was of immediate interest as it accurately portrayed the coastlines of South America and Africa, at their correct relative longitudes and latitudes. As the map was dated 1513, only 21 years after the official discovery of the Americas by Columbus in 1492, it seemed improbable that the map was compiled from cartographical data obtained by Columbus. The legend on the map itself in fact, gave it a source far older than 20 years, revealing that it was a section of a world map composed from more than twenty source maps, some drawn in the time of Alexander the great.

Despite the mystifying problem that the map included accurate longitude measurements – a task deemed impossible until the invention of the chronometer in 1760, there was something else displayed on the map that made its origin and history even more perplexing.

The Piri Reis map, in addition to accurately charting the coastlines of western Africa and eastern south America also included a third continent in its cartography. This map accurately portrays the coastline of Antarctica – a continent supposedly undiscovered until 1820, over 300 years after the maps creation!

However, the mystery doesn’t end there. Not only did the map illustrate accurately the coastline of Antarctica, it illustrated the coastline when the continent was ice free. Only recently, with the aid of satellite technology and GPS mapping, have science and cartographers managed to accurately plot the actual coastline of Antarctica minus the ice. However, if one were to superimpose the Piri Reis map over a modern map of an ice free Antarctic coastline, one would find the outlines almost identical.

In 2005 Dr. Semir Osmanagić, head of Anthropology at the American University in Bosnia-Herzegovina, travelled to the town of Visoko, northwest of Sarajevo, Bosnia. Whilst there he became intrigued with a strange geometric shaped hill overlooking the town.

This wasn’t just a hill, it was a full blown pyramid, overgrown with vegetation and hidden from view for centuries.

Further investigations of the area, including satellite and thermal imaging technology, has since determined that the area is home to not just one, but up to five ancient pyramids.

Two of the three largest perfectly symmetrical hills turned out to be the largest pyramids yet discovered on the planet.

Since its original discovery Dr. Semir Osmanagić and his team of over 200 interdisciplinary scientists have spent over 400,000 man-hours in archaeological excavation, sample testing, and radiocarbon dating at the site. In addition to the five pyramids, a labyrinth of tunnels and underground caverns, and even a huge underground lake, have all been discovered beneath the complex, along with many artefacts and an unknown form of hieroglyphics or runes.

The largest of the three pyramids – The Pyramid of the Sun, is 220 metres high. Next is The Pyramid of the Moon, at 190 metres. Both of these huge structures eclipse the Great Pyramid of Giza, which weighs in at a mere 147 metres high.

Not only is the Pyramid of the Sun much higher than The Egyptian pyramids, it is also more accurately positioned. It’s orientation to true north is near perfect with an error of 0 degrees, 0 minutes and 12 seconds. This orientation is far more accurate than that of the Giza Pyramid which, has an orientation error of about 3 minutes of arc, 15 times greater! Even today, with the advent and assistance of GPS satellite technology, it would be nigh impossible to construct a building with such accurate orientation.

The other pyramids are also oriented with respect to true north. The three largest pyramids, the Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon, and the Pyramid of the Dragon are each separated from one another by approximately 2.18 kilometres with an error of less than 2 percent, to form the three apexes of a virtually perfect equilateral triangle. Natural mountains simply don’t arrange themselves with this kind of precision to form such geometric patterns.

The main structure of the Pyramid of the Sun is constructed of a concrete made from a gravel conglomerate that was mined from a flood conglomerate layer that underlies the pyramid and adjacent area. Evidence of this excavation is the existence of a vast network of many kilometres of tunnels present in the region surrounding the pyramid. This concrete has been laboratory tested and been determined to be of an artificial, not natural origin. Tests have shown that it has a hardness and resistance to water penetration equal to the best concretes achieved in this 21st century...

Powerball Lottery - My Take On It and The System I'm Working Out - UpDate

Just a brief update on my "research" into the lottery game Powerball, and if there is a way to improve the odds even a little bit. I wrote: "I created a chart of 46 weeks, that has the most recent results, going back a couple of months and then at random though January 2014 a game or two each month." and "Using my system, I've shown that I'd have won something in most games and nothing only 13 times out of the 46..."
At that time my chart left off at 2/18/15, since then three more games have come and gone, and using my "system," if you can call it that, I've drawn two numbers each game. This, while not generating a winner, tells me I may be on the right track. I'm actually happy with these results because two numbers could as easily be three, four, five, or a jackpot. Right now I'm still in the experimental stage playing on paper only, and still looking for a number generator or program that'll allow inputting specific numbers that can be used to generate my entries, but so far doing it manually while harder is showing results. I'll post an update as I go on.

Primarily out of a sense of curiosity and yes playfulness I started looking at the Powerball lottery. The Mega Millions is similar, but I've been focusing on Powerball. The more I looked I wondered if there isn't a way to cut the odds even a little bit, and came up with an idea that seems to work. I created a chart of 46 weeks, that has the most recent results, going back a couple of months and then at random though January 2014 a game or two each month.
Using my system, I've shown that I'd have won something in most games and nothing only 13 times out of the 46. Now understand that when I say won something it may be only $4.00, or $7.00, or more. In the 46 games, I had several $100.00 winners, 3 $10,000.00 winners, and one $1,000,000.00 winner drawing 5 numbers and no Powerball. This tells me I may be on the right track.
Right now I'm looking for a random number generator or something similar perhaps a wheeling system, (although a wheeling system might not be right I don't know yet), that I can put my numbers into and generate 5 numbers and a powerball multiple times, doing it manually is difficult.
Anyway that's where I'm at right now, I'll post updates as I go along, but if I win a jackpot I'll let you know before I disappear :)....

Soviet painting - Bloody Sunday massacre in St Petersburg

I'm watching Cheyenne Autumn this afternoon, a very good movie, but still a movie, about the total mistreatment of the Cheyenne Indians by the government and the US population in general, largely resulting from ignorance and fear. But, that's not what I'm writing about just the spark of the thought, and a comment. In the movie one of the characters commented during the chase that he wasn't a Cossack, and that brought to mind the Cossacks of the Tsar and Imperial Russia, and that history's repeating itself today in the "Cossacks" of the President and the Imperial U.S.
For example there's Sunday, 22 January1905 in St. Petersburg Russia, where unarmed demonstrators led by Father Gapon were fired upon by soldiers of the Imperial Guard as they marched towards the Winter Palace to deliver a petition to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.
Showing the government's, and the Tsar's, disregard for ordinary people this undermined the state, provoked public outrage and a series of massive strikes that spread quickly throughout the rest of Russia. The massacre is thought to be the start of the of the revolution in 1905 and the precursor of the revolution in 1917, that ultimately overthrew and killed the Tsar and his family, changing Russia completely.
The march on the Tsar's palace was neither revolutionary nor rebellious. The workers of St. Petersburg wished only fair treatment and working conditions; they petitioned the tsar hoping he'd act for them. They believed Tsar Nicholas would help them, once made aware of their situation. The marchers didn't know that the Tsar left on Saturday 21 January 1905.
To make a long story short, the first shooting happened between 10 and 11am. As late as 2pm large family groups were out walking as on any Sunday afternoon, unaware of the violence in the city. There were groups of workers still making their way to the Winter Palace as originally intended by Gapon. A detachment of the Preobrazhensky Guards had been at the Palace Square with about 2,300 soldiers held in reserve. It formed two ranks opposite the Alexander Gardens. There was a single shouted warning before a bugle sounded and four volleys were fired into the panicked crowd, many, possibly most of whom, had not been participants in the march. Cossacks and regular cavalry made charges using their sabers or trampling the people. Casualties were estimated from a few to as many as 4-5000 depending on the source.
What's my point you ask? The Imperial Government of the US, in a growing police state, is now

arming and using its version of Cossacks, the national and local militarized police, to attack unarmed demonstrators, who are, in many if not most cases, protesting the murder, by these same police, of innocent, unarmed, people. Governments and people never seem to learn. Governments can't seem to resist holding their people down, and people by their very nature are destined to mistreat and abuse other people, whether through ignorance, just plain meanness, or psychopathic insanity these seem to be the people drawn to crime, police or military work. There are of course normal, good people too, but invariably they out of fear of reprisal or fear of loss of position keep their mouths shut and allow the evil to flourish.
So, after time has gone by, instead of learning from history, where we once fought Nazism, and fascism, and communism our own country having forgotten the lessons learned by our grandfathers and fathers we allow our leaders to turn the USA into a Nazi/fascist/communist country and watch as they use the police and military, just as the Tsar used Cossacks to try and eliminate through murder, and beatings, through arrest and punishment, anyone that disagrees or demonstrates, and tries to stop the descent into evil.

The Great Pyramid and Why It's Great

I've been reading and studying about the pyramid, and pyramid power, for years, decades actually. I bought my first book on the subject in the 70's, and built my first replica of the great pyramid out of cardboard when I broke my ankle in 1977 or 78. I placed the pyramid over my ankle in the cast and as I remember the Dr. was surprised at how quickly my ankle healed. Of course there was, and is, no proof the pyramid had anything to do with it, I was a very healthy specimen at the time. Who knows? But just in case, I just finished building my second replica, also out of cardboard, because I'm getting older and less of a healthy specimen, just in case, as I said who knows? Depending on who you read and what, pyramidology, pyramid power, the mystic or occult as regards the pyramids is true, or a lot of superstition, you make your own decision, personally I'll stand with guys like Napoleon and thousands of others who believe it's real.
So far, everybody is pretty much like the country singer Ray Steven's "A Hermit Named Dave,"
they all suspect something, but nobody knows anything. Nobody knows, for a fact who built it, when they built it, how they built it, or why they built it. It may be a few thousand years old or many thousands, or ten thousand or more years old, nobody knows. As I've written here, many times, I believe that in pre-history there was at least one, possibly many great civilizations that at least equaled if not exceeded ours today. Lets face it our civilization has only been "great" for 70 or 100 yrs. or so, right?
Anyway, I've never written about the pyramid here, because everybody and his/her brother has written about it. I couldn't imagine that I've anything to say that's new, it seems pretty much everything has been said. So I was surprised to read the following article the other day that, while it covered a lot that's gone before, did have a few things in it I'd never seen. The Great Pyramid of Giza Martin Gray

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the most substantial ancient structure in the world - and the most mysterious. According to prevailing archaeological theory - and there is absolutely no evidence to confirm this idea - the three pyramids on the Giza plateau are funerary structures of three kings of the fourth dynasty (2575 to 2465 BC). The Great Pyramid, attributed to Khufu (Cheops) is on the right of the photograph, the pyramid attributed to Khafra (Chephren) next to it, and that of Menkaura (Mycerinus) the smallest of the three. The Great Pyramid was originally 481 feet, five inches tall (146.7 meters) and measured 755 feet (230 meters) along its sides. Covering an area of 13 acres, or 53,000 square meters, it is large enough to contain the European cathedrals of Florence, Milan, St. Peters, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul's. Constructed from approximately 2.5 million limestone blocks weighing on average 2.6 tons each, its total mass is more than 6.3 million tons (representing more building material than is to be found in all the churches and cathedrals built in England since the time of Christ). The Great Pyramid was originally encased in highly polished, smooth white limestone and capped, according to legend, by a perfect pyramid of black stone, probably onyx. Covering an area of 22 acres the white limestone casing was removed by an Arab sultan in AD 1356 in order to build mosques and fortresses in nearby Cairo. Herodotus, the great Greek geographer, visited in the fifth century BC. Strabo, a Greco / Roman historian, came in the first century AD. Abdullah Al Mamun, son of the Caliph of Baghdad, forced the first historically recorded entrance in AD 820, and Napoleon was spellbound when he beheld the fantastic structure in 1798.
According to our present knowledge the Great Pyramid of Giza is mostly solid mass, it’s only known interior spaces being the Descending passage (the original entrance), the Ascending passage, the Grand Gallery, a mysterious grotto, an equally mysterious subterranean chamber, and the two main chambers. These two chambers, called the King's Chamber and the Queen's Chamber, have unfortunately retained the misleading names given to them by early Arab visitors to the pyramid. It is an Arab custom to bury men in tombs with a flat roof and women in rooms with a gabled roof; therefore, in the Great Pyramid, the flat-roofed granite chamber became the King's Chamber, while the gabled, limestone chamber below became the Queen's. Even those archaeologists who still stubbornly subscribe to the tomb theory of the pyramid do not believe that a queen or anyone else was ever buried in the limestone chamber. The King's Chamber is 10.46 meters east to west by 5.23 meters north to south by 5.81 meters high (a series of measurements that precisely expresses the mathematical proportion known as the Golden Mean, or Phi). It is built of enormous blocks of solid red granite (weighing as much as 50 tons) that were transported by a still-unknown means from the quarries of Aswan 600 miles to the south. Within the chamber, in the western end, sits a large, lidless coffer (7.5 feet by 3.25 feet, with sides averaging 6.5 inches thick) of dark black granite estimated to weigh more than three tons. When the Arab Abdullah Al Mamun finally forced his entry into the chamber in AD 820 - the first entry since the chamber was sealed in some long ago time - he found the coffer entirely empty. Egyptologists assume that this was the final resting place of Khufu, yet not the slightest evidence suggests that a corpse had ever been in this coffer or chamber. Nor have any embalming materials, any fragments of any article, or any clues whatsoever been found in the chamber or anywhere else in the entire pyramid that in any way indicates that Khufu (or anyone else) was ever buried there. Furthermore, the passageway leading from the Grand Gallery to the main chamber is too narrow to admit the movement of the coffer; the coffer must have been placed in the chamber as the pyramid was being built, contrary to the normal burial custom practiced by the Egyptians for three thousand years.
The foolishness of the common assumption, that the Giza plateau pyramids were built and utilized by fourth Dynasty kings as funerary structures, cannot be overstated. It is a matter of archaeological fact that none of the fourth Dynasty kings put their names on the pyramids supposedly constructed in their times, yet from the fifth Dynasty onwards, the other pyramids had hundreds of official inscriptions, leaving us no doubt about which kings built them. The mathematical complexity, engineering requirements, and sheer size of the Giza plateau pyramids represent an enormous, seemingly impossible leap in abilities over the third dynasty buildings. Contemporary Egyptological explanation cannot account for this leap, nor can they account for the clear decline in mathematics, engineering and size of the constructions of the fifth dynasty. Textbooks speak of "religious upheaval" and "civil wars," but there is no evidence whatsoever of these having occurred.
The attribution to Khufu of the Great Pyramid of Giza is founded solely upon three very circumstantial pieces of "evidence":

The legends told to and reported by Herodotus who visited the pyramids in 443 BC
The funerary complex near the Great Pyramid with inscriptions citing Cheops/Khufu as the reigning pharaoh
In the pyramid itself, on a granite slab above the ceiling of the main chamber, some small, red ochre paint marks that have a slight resemblance to a hieroglyphic symbol for the name of Khufu.

Egypt Pharaoh Khufu himself left no indication whatsoever that he built the Great Pyramid of Giza. He did, however, claim to have done repair work on the structure. On the nearby "Inventory" Stele (dating to about 1500 BC, but showing evidence of having been copied from a far older stele contemporaneous with the fourth dynasty), Khufu tells of discoveries made while clearing away the sands from the pyramid, of his dedication of the monument to Isis, and of his building of the three small pyramids for himself, his wife, and his daughters next to the Great Pyramid. Regarding the red ochre paint marks found within the pyramid, most hieroglyph experts now believe these to be forgeries left by their "discoverer" Richard Howard-Vyse, rather than being quarry inscriptions left by the original builders. Howard-Vyse was under pressure to equal the discoveries of his rival, the Italian explorer Caviglia, who had found inscriptions in some of the tombs around the Great Pyramid. Modern researchers now suspect that, in the battle for one-upmanship, Howard-Vyse sought to overshadow his rival and gain renewed support for his own projects with a similar but more spectacular "discovery", by forging quarry inscriptions inside the Great Pyramid. In other words, no firm evidence in any way connects the pyramids of the Giza plateau to the dynastic Egyptians.
Let us briefly consider a few matters concerning the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza; matters which clearly indicate that the builders of fourth dynasty Egypt did not have the engineering capacity to erect the Great Pyramid (we do not have the capacity even today) and that this structure was used for a purpose altogether different from mere burial.
The Great Pyramid of Giza is constructed with approximately 2,300,000 limestone and granite blocks. Weighing between 2.5 and 50 tons each, these stone blocks had to be quarried from the earth. Herein lays our first unsolved problem. In the Cairo museum one can see several examples of simple copper and bronze saws, which Egyptologists claim are like those utilized in the cutting and shaping of the pyramid blocks. These tools present a problem. On the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, copper and bronze have a hardness of 3.5 to 4, while limestone has a hardness of 4 to 5 and granite of 5 to 6. The known tools would only barely cut through limestone and would be useless with granite. No archaeological examples of iron tools are found in early dynastic Egypt, yet even if they were, the best steels today have a hardness of only 5.5 and thus are inefficient for cutting granite. Some years ago Sir Flinders Petrie, one of the "fathers" of Egyptology proposed that the pyramid blocks had been cut with long saw blades studded with diamonds or corundum. But this idea presents problems too. The cutting of millions of blocks would require millions of rare and expensive diamonds and corundum, which constantly wear out and require replacement. It has been suggested that the limestone blocks were somehow cut with solutions of citric acid or vinegar, yet these very slow-acting agents leave the surface of the limestone pitted and rough, unlike the beautifully smooth surface found on the casing stones, and these agents are completely useless for the cutting of granite. The truth is, we have no idea how the blocks were actually quarried.
The unsolved problem of how the 2,300,000 very heavy blocks were transported to the building site of the pyramid is even more mystifying. How were the blocks taken to the nearly 500- foot height of the pyramid’s summit? A Danish civil engineer, P. Garde-Hanson, has calculated that a ramp built all the way to the top of the pyramid would require 17.5 million cubic meters of material, this representing more than seven times the amount of material used for the pyramid itself, and a work force of 240,000 to build it in the time allotted by Cheops' reign. But if this enormous ramp were built, it would then require a force of more than 300,000 laborers as much as eight years to dismantle. Where would all the ramp material have been placed, since it is not to be found anywhere near the Great Pyramid? And what of maneuvering the precisely carved blocks into place without damaging the corners? Various lifting devices and levers have been proposed by modern engineers (remember, no existing dynastic records, paintings, or friezes give any clue to this mystery), but none solve the problem of how the 50-ton blocks of the main chamber were lifted and positioned using an area where only four to six workers could stand, when the strength of at least 2000 would be needed.
Next we come to perhaps the most extraordinary problem, that of the fashioning and placement of the highly polished limestone casing stones that covered the entire pyramid. The finished pyramid contained approximately 115,000 of these stones, each weighing ten tons or more. These stones were dressed on all six of their sides, not just the side exposed to the visible surface, to tolerances of .01 inch. They are set together so closely that a thin razor blade cannot be inserted between the stones. Egyptologist Petrie expressed his astonishment of this feat by writing, "Merely to place such stones in exact contact would be careful work, but to do so with cement in the joint seems almost impossible; it is to be compared to the finest opticians' work on the scale of acres." Herodotus, visiting in the fifth century BC, reported that inscriptions of strange characters were to be found on the pyramid's casing stones. In AD 1179 the Arab historian Abd el Latif recorded that these inscriptions were so numerous that they could have filled "more than ten thousand written pages." William of Baldensal, a European visitor of the early fourteenth century, tells how the stones were covered with strange symbols arranged in careful rows. Sadly, in 1356, following an earthquake that leveled Cairo, the Arabs robbed the pyramid of its beautiful casing of stones to rebuild mosques and fortresses in the city. As the stones were cut into smaller pieces and reshaped, all traces of the ancient inscriptions were removed from them. A great library of ageless wisdom was forever lost.

Still further evidence that the dynastic Egyptians did not construct the Great Pyramid of Giza may be found in sediments surrounding the base of the monument, in legends regarding watermarks on the stones halfway up its sides, and in salt incrustations found within. Silt sediments rising to fourteen feet around the base of the pyramid contain many seashells and fossils that have been radiocarbon-dated to be nearly twelve thousand years old. These sediments could have been deposited in such great quantities only by major sea flooding, an event the dynastic Egyptians could never have recorded because they were not living in the area until eight thousand years after the flood. This evidence alone suggests that the three main Giza pyramids are at least twelve thousand years old. In support of this ancient flood scenario, mysterious legends and records tell of watermarks that were clearly visible on the limestone casing stones of the Great Pyramid before those stones were removed by the Arabs. These watermarks were halfway up the sides of the pyramid, or about 400 feet above the present level of the Nile River. Further, when the Great Pyramid was first opened, incrustations of salt an inch thick were found inside. While much of this salt is known to be natural exudation from the stones of the pyramid, chemical analysis has shown that some of the salt has a mineral content consistent with salt from the sea. These salt incrustations, found at a height corresponding to the water level marks left on the exterior, are further evidence that at some time in the distant past the pyramid was submerged halfway up its height.

The building blocks of the Great Pyramid of Giza

Let us turn our attention briefly to the matter of the purpose or multiple purposes of the Great Pyramid, drawing for our discussion on both the exact measurements made by modern scientists and the mythic legends of the remote past. A few facts:

The sides of the pyramid are lined up almost exactly with the cardinal points of the compass. The accuracy of this alignment is extraordinary, with an average discrepancy of only about three minutes of arc in any direction or a variation of less than 0.06 percent.
The Great Pyramid functioned as an enormous sundial. Its shadow to the north, and its reflected sunlight to the south, accurately marked the annual dates of both the solstices and the equinoxes.
The basic dimensions of the Great Pyramid incorporate measurements from which the earth's size and shape can be calculated. The pyramid is a scale model of the hemisphere, incorporating the geographical degrees of latitude and longitude. The latitude and longitude lines that intersect at the Great Pyramid (30 degrees north and 31 degrees east) cross more of the earth's land surface than any other lines, thus the pyramid is located at the center of the land mass of the earth (the pyramid is built on the closest suitable site to this intersection). The original perimeter of the pyramid equals exactly one-half minute of latitude at the equator, indicating that its builders measured the earth with extreme precision and recorded this information in the dimensions of the structure. Altogether these measurements show that the builders knew the exact dimensions of the planet as precisely as they have been recently determined by satellite surveys.
The foundation of the Great Pyramid is amazingly level. No corner of its base is more than one-half inch higher or lower than the others. Considering that the pyramid's base covers more than thirteen acres, this near-perfect leveling far exceeds even the finest architectural standards of the present day.
Measurements throughout the pyramid show that its constructors knew of the proportions of pi (3.14...), phi or the Golden Mean (1.618), and the "Pythagorean" triangles thousands of years before Pythagoras, the so-called father of geometry, lived.
Measurements show that the builders knew the precise spherical shape and size of the earth and had accurately charted such complex astronomical events as the precession of the equinoxes and the lunar standstill dates. The minute discrepancies of the lengths of the base of the pyramid (several inches over the 230 meter length of its base) reveal not an error on the part of the builders but an ingenious means of incorporating into the pyramid the "discrepancies" of the earth itself, in this case the flattening of the earth's globe at the poles.
Shafts leading upward from the two main chambers, previously thought to be air shafts for ventilation, have been shown to have another possible purpose. A miniature electronic robot mechanically crawled sixty-five meters up the shafts and its findings suggested that the south and north shafts in the Kings Chamber are pointed to Al Nitak (Zeta Orionis) and Alpha Draconis respectively, while the south and north shafts of the Queens Chamber point to Sirius and Beta Ursa Minor. The scientists conducting this research believe that the layout of the three pyramids on the Giza plateau precisely mirror the position of the three main stars in the Orion constellation. (While crawling along one of the shafts in the Queens chamber, the robot's cameras photographed a previously unknown closed door that may lead to some hidden chamber.) The Pyramids of Giza

What does all this mean? Why did the ancient builders of the Giza pyramids, whoever they may have been, encode so much precise mathematical, geographic, and astronomical information into their structures? What was the purpose of the Great Pyramid? While no authoritative answer can presently be given to this question, two intriguing matters suggest a direction for further inquiry and research. The first has to do with the persistent legends that the Great Pyramid of Giza, and especially the main chamber, was used as some sort of sacred initiation center. According to one legend, students who had first undergone long years of preparation, meditation and metaphysical instruction in an esoteric school (the mythic "Hall of Records" hidden deep beneath the desert sands somewhere near the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx) were placed in the granite coffer of the main chamber and left alone throughout an entire night. The coffer was the focal point of the energies gathered, concentrated, aimed, and directed at the main chamber by virtue of the precise mathematical location, alignment, and construction of the pyramid. These energies, considered to be especially potent at certain precisely calculated periods when the earth was in a particular geometric alignment with solar, lunar, and stellar objects, were conducive to the awakening, stimulation, and acceleration of spiritual consciousness in the suitably prepared adept. While it is now nearly impossible to spend an evening alone in the coffer of the main chamber, it is interesting to read the reports of those persons who have done so in the past. Mention will be made of experiences both terribly frightening (perhaps because of the lack of any appropriate training on the part of the experimenter) and also deeply peaceful, even spiritually illuminating. Napoleon himself spent a night alone in the chamber. Emerging pale and dazed, he would not speak of his powerful experiences, only saying, "You would not believe me if I told you."
A second matter needing further inquiry from the scientific community studying the Great Pyramid of Giza - and one that might help explain the subject just discussed - concerns the matter of unexplained energetic anomalies frequently noticed and recorded in the main chamber. In the 1920s, a Frenchman named Antoine Bovis made the surprising discovery that, despite the heat and high humidity of the main chamber, the dead bodies of animals left in the chamber did not decay but completely dehydrated. Thinking that there might be some relationship between this phenomena and the position of the main chamber in the pyramid, Bovis constructed a small-scale model of the pyramid, oriented it to the same direction as the Great Pyramid, and placed the body of a dead cat at the approximate level of the main chamber. The result was the same. As he had observed in the Great Pyramid, the cat's body did not decay. In the 1960s, researchers in Czechoslovakia and the U.S., conducting limited studies of the geometry of the pyramid, repeated this experiment with the same results. They also found that the form of the pyramid somehow mysteriously kept foods preserved without spoiling, sharpened dull razor blades, induced plants to germinate and grow more quickly, and hastened the healing of animals' wounds. Other scientists, in consideration of the high quartz content of the granite blocks in the main chamber and the incredible pressures those blocks are subjected to, theorized that the main chamber may have been the focal point of a powerful piezoelectric field; magnetometer measurements inside the chamber indeed showed higher levels than the normal background geomagnetic field.
Although much research remains to be done in these areas, legend, archaeology, mathematics, and earth sciences seem to indicate that the Great Pyramid was a monumental device for gathering, amplifying, and focusing a mysterious energy field for the spiritual benefit of human beings. We do not know exactly how the pyramid and its main chamber were used, and the geometric structure of the pyramid has been subtly altered by the removal of the casing stones and the cap-stone. None-the-less, the Great Pyramid of the Giza plateau still emanates great power as a transformational power place. It has done so for uncounted thousands of years and seems destined to continue for ages to come.

Murder Is The Norm For Human Beings And Their "Gods"???

I've been reading Zecharia Sitchin's earth chronicles, which started me thinking. Briefly it's about another planet in our solar system and the people who came from there. The planet is named Nibiru and the people called Anunaki. This is all taken from translated clay tablets written by Sumerians and others. The books detail how the Earth is created and how the Anunaki come here about 450,000 years ago in search of gold to save the atmosphere of their planet. Eventually they create man as a slave species to take over the labor from their own people. Eventually the flood takes place and while man is supposed to be eliminated, he isn't because one of the Anunaki warns a man who builds a boat and saves himself, others, and animal species, aka Noah, or Utnapishtim. These people, aliens, really are no different than us, their creations, they did everything that we do and probably worse, allegedly before we even were.
After the flood mankind rebuilds. All of this is also related in the Christian bible as I mentioned above in the story of Noah, and in the story of Gilgamesh. Which as I've said before means that the humans, the men and women, that God or the gods, resolved to destroy weren't destroyed. The men and women that were so bad, so destructive, so amoral, so EVIL, that complete destruction, an essentially re-terraforming of the earth to remove a parasite, was the only answer lived on. God or the gods failed and the parasite went on, WE ARE IT, OR THE DECENDENTS OF IT.
Since this planet became livable, if you read and believe Sitchin, meaning the ancient Sumerians, or if you read and believe the Bible, Koran, Torah, Nevi'im and Ketuvim (which are commonly called the Torah or Jewish bible), or ancient Indian texts Vedas, ( the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda), it becomes clear that while man claims to abhor murder, he/she has been committing murder from day one. That God or the gods kill each other and lesser creatures like us, is the stuff of legend and religious writing. That we kill them, if possible, and ourselves is likewise the stuff of legend, religious writing, and more relevant books, newspapers, tv, radio, popular media in general.
It occurs to me, that the problem may be that we're still locked into a tribal mentality. That we need to learn that the cop that murders an unarmed, or armed person is shooting him/herself, a soldier that murders an enemy kills him/herself, a thief that murders a victim is killing him/herself. We need to learn that there's just one big tribe, and just because you don't know someone they're still a member of your tribe. I don't understand the urge to kill, but it seems that it's an inborn trait of the human. We don't need a reason to murder, we just do it. Murder is normal, not to is, it seems, unusual. True, a lot of people go their entire lives without killing, but that can change in a split second. Actually tribe may be overstating the problem, because how many times does someone murder a family member or friend?
It can be reasoned that murder is a part of the human mentality because it's a form of population control, sort of opposite the other ingrained trait, the urge to fuck, to procreate. Without war, and murder in general this planet would have every square inch covered with people at some point. So, population control, why not? We start to die the second we're born. We convince ourselves that we'll live forever, that we deserve a long life, yet look around you could drop dead any second. Death is just as normal as life. So, what's the big deal if we die in our sleep at eighty or are hit by a car crossing the street, or slip in the bathtub cracking our skull, or pick up a disease as an infant, or are murdered by a cop or criminal? Dead is dead, we all end up there sooner or later, so what difference does it make how we get there?
We are the descendants of the people, for lack of a better term, that God determined to murder, to destroy, the largely corrupt, murderous, sex obsessed people who were supposed to be destroyed in the flood. It's our nature to kill each other, just as apparently it's God's or the god's. We apparently were created in his/her/its image after all.
Priests of all denominations rant in their sermons that killing is wrong and against God's word, yet the next sermon will be a rant for the young men to join the army and murder the enemy, yet somehow these priests fail to see the hypocrisy. All through the legends, stories, religious writings of all types God or gods are murdering all sorts of people for all reasons, for instance when the Jews left Egypt with Moses, God had murdered thousands maybe millions of Egyptians mostly to make a point, then when the Jews were invading the "promised land" God helped them again by murdering thousands perhaps millions of the people that were already there. Murder is the norm, even for God or gods.
Take the instance I've mentioned a couple of times, God or gods, determined to completely eradicate, or murder, the entire population of the earth, for the simple reason that they displeased him or them. The hypocrisy starts there, he/she/it is a murderer, plain and simple, so where does he/she/it get off saying Thou Shalt Not Kill?
Priests, politicians, leaders and pundits all say that murder is against Gods, or the gods, will, that it's wrong, yet at the first opportunity send us off to war, isn't the hypocrisy obvious? Then why don't people see it? For some reason they don't, they buy into it instead.

I found this post online, read and enjoy... Original link I posted an article sometime back that advocated that we don't need police, "ABOLISH THE POLICE - An Article by Anthony Gregory about Police Abuse Around The USA," and the result of the NYPD "strike" pretty much proves that it is possible that as they currently exist, police may not be necessary. I read recently that there are over 900,000 police officers in this country, probably not counting ancillaries such as prison guards, parole officers, clerks, etc. Link to my post I believe that the requirements of being a cop need to be strengthened, including psychological tests and frequent recurring background checks, drug tests, credit checks, investigation of bank accounts, friends, acquaintances, family, etc. I understand that few people would submit but I believe those that did would be less corrupt, cowardly, and inclined to kill, than many we have currently. We need, desperately, more Frank Serpicos and fewer, of the too many to name, corrupt killers with badges.

(ANTIMEDIA) New York City – The New York Police Department has decided that its “wartime” strategy is to simply not do their jobs.

The NYPD made the move after two cops were killed in reprisal for Eric Garner’s death. With NYPD publicly stating they are just going to worry about protecting themselves, something interesting happened: nothing. The city didn’t erupt into riots, there is no reported crime wave, super villains have not taken over the streets of Gotham.
The pro-police media narrative fed by a constant stream of press releases from New York cop unions, associations, and fraternities basically says that because the Mayor didn’t support NYPD in the wake of the Eric Garner decision the NYPD stopped working in protest. This is a blatant lie.
The NYPD went on the wartime footing and began ignoring offenses not when the Mayor made his remarks, but when two of their own were ambushed while sitting inside of a patrol car. This isn’t a political statement by NYPD, it’s the act of a group of people who are scared. For years NYPD has been able to do whatever they want to whomever they want and suffer no consequences. More than a quarter of the people killed by the NYPD were unarmed. Misconduct resulting in a lawsuit is a daily occurrence.
There has been no counterattack from the population until now. The NYPD likes to play up all of the officers that died “in the line of duty” to justify its brutal behavior. Aside from the two officers killed in reprisal, not a single officer was shot and killed in 2014. In fact, prior to the reprisal, the last cop killed by gunfire was in 2011. Prior to 2011, the last time an NYPD cop was intentionally killed by gunfire was 2007. In 2009, there was another officer killed by gunfire but he was shot by other NYPD cops that opened fire because well… He was a black man with a gun.
In short, NYPD kills more unarmed people in a year than they’ve had officers shot and killed in the last 7 years. In the last five years, NYPD lists 25 “in the line of duty” deaths on the Officer Down Memorial Page. Only 3 were at the hands of a “bad guy,” and that includes the two killed in reprisal. The overwhelming majority of NYPD officers killed are attributed to a broadly defined “9/11 related illness.” If an officer dies of cancer, for example, and the NYPD connects that death to 9/11 then the officer’s family gets paid. They’re just looking out for their own.
The NYPD is just like any playground bully; when somebody strikes back they cry and tell the teacher. Well the teacher in this case is Mayor de Blasio who is responsible for dealing with the endless stream of lawsuits generated by the department’s misconduct. The bully took his ball and went home, but it seems nobody misses the bully or the ball.

Arrests are down 66%. Traffic violations are down 94%. Criminal Court Summonses are down 94%. There is no public outcry. There is no crime wave. The NYPD’s move just showed that all of the rhetoric about being the thin blue line between order and chaos is complete garbage. These aren’t just petty offenses being overlooked as the national media is attempting to frame it. The NYPD’s Organized Crime Control Bureau has had an 84% drop in drug related arrests. If you believe the propaganda, this is one of those units that supposedly stops wild marijuana junkies with needles hanging out of their arm from breaking into apartments and burning down churches after they use the American flag as toilet paper. Reefer madness has not paralyzed New York.
The NYPD has shown clearly that they are overstaffed and overfunded. If they can all basically stop work without causing major issues, maybe we have too many cops on the streets. It also demonstrated that all of the talk about the NYPD being the “sheepdogs” who are responsible for keeping the wolves from eating the citizens of the city is nothing more than empty propaganda. The NYPD won’t respond to a call without two units being dispatched now. So, all the talk about them rushing into danger to save your life is also mindless propaganda. They won’t even respond to a shoplifter without two units, which means 4 officers. They certainly aren’t going to go into a dangerous situation for you or your loved ones.
The NYPD proved they care nothing about the community when they gambled with crime in the city. NYPD was hoping for a crime wave so they could pressure the Mayor. They were hoping that the people who they are supposed to protect and serve would become victimized so they could justify their brutality. It backfired. It’s time to slash NYPD’s budget and manpower. Thanks to unions playing politics, the citizens know the force doesn’t need to be as big as it is, and it certainly doesn’t actually care about the citizens of the city.

Our Broken System: Lessons from Ferguson

We, the people, lost in Ferguson, Missouri — not because the people took to the streets and smashed and burned and shot and looted, however mindless those activities were and made humanity seem. It was a greater loss, the further erosion of our rights and just superiority as sovereign citizens above government officials who are nothing more than our employees. In a system of justice that I know — and report on regularly — that lies and steals and cheats to get its man, I know, too, it protects its own with the same vigilance. And the lack of an indictment was, to me, no exception. It was a reminder that the system is broken and the media manipulative, that the world we live in is controlled — and not fairly or justly.
What I personally took away from the explanation of how and why the grand jury came to its decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson is that had he been anyone other than a police officer, he would likely be facing charges.
Let’s be real. A grand jury isn’t a magical group of people who know all and see all; it is a group of people who get to see only the evidence the prosecuting attorney decides to show them. So if the prosecutor has an agenda to not prosecute, the evidence will reflect that agenda. And the grand jury will come back with the corresponding ruling. It’s that simple, and everything is supported by the government’s own statistics. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. attorneys prosecuted 162,000 federal cases in 2010. Grand juries declined to return an indictment in only 11 of them.
It really is an “us” and “them” thing now. And no matter what your ethnicity, we as citizens just got reminded that to be them means they get treated differently than if they were us.
It’s sad. And what is worse is you have the mainstream media out there promoting this as either right (Fox News: a triumph of a system that you can trust in) or wrong, but both sides are calling it a race issue and not seeing it for what it really is — a miscarriage of justice, pure and simple.
Police agencies have paid out millions of dollars in civil liability claims across this country where bad police officers have killed, maimed or otherwise harmed the citizens they are supposed to protect. But few, if any, ever face criminal charges for their obviously criminal actions. If they are held civilly liable, they should be held criminally liable as well.
Every day, there is more evidence of corrupt police officers overstepping their bounds and abusing their authority. And there are more people facing false charges, stacked by scum-sucking prosecuting attorneys who just want a conviction. What a joke.
So what is the solution?
In our day and age of technology, there is no reason that every police officer shouldn’t be mandated to wear a personal recording device to ensure that all of the unadulterated evidence is available to the public.
Also, we have to eliminate the immunity prosecutors and judges enjoy. With their protections gone, bad police officers will have no one to protect them. The system will be taken back by the public it is supposed to serve.
We have to ensure our justice system blindly seeks justice and the corruption that now plagues it is extinguished.
I invite all righteous prosecutors, police officers, public defenders and truly unbiased judges to join me at the US~Observer as we continue our fight against everything that is wrong in the system. Join us as contributors and expose those who violate their oaths and harm the citizens.
We have to make sure that what happened in Ferguson, and in every other city where the system has overstepped its bounds, doesn’t ever happen again. That is something I am sure we can all agree on.

Death Visits Ferguson, Missouri in the Guise of Darren Wilson

I'll keep this short as I've been told by commenters, as well as friends that I post too much about police brutality, the problem though isn't me, it's the increasing frequency of murder by cop. I deliberately had stopped posting on this subject but it keeps happening, it seems every day.
In the case of Michael Brown, the cop, of course, Darren Wilson claims that Brown was trying to take his gun and had "beat him up" in the attempt. But frankly, even if that's true, all it shows is that he was a coward who killed Brown out of pique or revenge, as Brown was unarmed, and no where near Wilson when murdered.
If I, or anyone else without a badge, i.e. a cop, had been beaten up, allegedly, and then had shot his alleged attacker, emptying the gun a minute or so later, they'd have been locked away no question. So why hasn't Wilson? Or any one of the thousands of other perpetrators of murder by cop? Why is all they get the proverbial slap on the wrist, if they get anything at all, and then go on as though nothing ever happened, while their victims, and the families of their victims, don't get to go on at all?

The only thing I'd add would be that police corruption, and brutality has been going on as long as there've been police. But lately American police have started moving in the direction of the Russian Cossacks who at the orders of the Czar or his minions made a habit of riding down and killing crowds of innocent citizens for instance during Bloody Sunday on January 22, 1905. Witness what happened to the demonstrators in the Michael Brown demonstrations after he was murdered by a local Ferguson cop. True he, according to subsequent, after the fact, and under police protest, investigation may have attacked the cop, but at the time of his murder was far away and UNARMED, thereby NO threat to the cop, who of course used the most time tested, excuse of all cops, "I was in fear for my life."

Following Alexander the Great’s conquest of Persia, members of the Persian elite were required to prostrate themselves before their new ruler. Polyperchon, one of Alexander’s generals, sternly rebuked one of the Persians whose self-abasement was seen as inadequate.
“Come on, don’t just touch the floor with your chin,” demanded Alexander’s arrogant underling. “Bang it, man! Bang it!”
Police union commissar Patrick J. Lynch displays more than a hint of that attitude in dealing with a public that at long last has become disgusted with routine and impenitent criminal corruption on the part of the state’s consecrated dispensers of violence.
For Lynch (whose views are very commonplace in law enforcement), any attitude toward police other than abject, servile gratitude is unacceptable and perhaps even criminal. This is true even of those who preface modulated discussion of unambiguous criminal misconduct with the familiar disclaimer: “Not all cops are bad.”
“Proclaiming that `not all cops are bad’ implies that rational people might somehow believe the opposite,” Lynch whined in a recent column for the New York Post. “It lends cop-haters a credibility they don’t deserve. And it minimizes the dedication and professionalism that police officers display, day in and day out, by implying that it’s the exception rather than the rule.”
From Lynch’s perspective, sycophancy toward the licensed purveyors of violence is a civic obligation, and the public has a duty to sustain the pretense that every single police officer is a divinely commissioned instrument of justice and the distillate of valor.
Lynch demands that the public accept the proposition that “all cops put their lives on the line to protect all New Yorkers.” The New York Police Department formally repudiated that claim in its official reply to a lawsuit filed by the heroic Joseph Lozito, who was cut to ribbons while taking down crazed serial killer Maksim Gelman in a subway car as officer Terrance Howell cowered behind a glass partition.
Howell was hailed as a “hero,” and the NYPD deflected Lozito’s lawsuit by insisting that “under well-established law, the police … have no special duty” to protect an individual citizen.
For cops, “officer safety” is always the prime directive. Lynch would contend that the public must embrace Howell as a hero because of his occupation — or, failing that, stifle any criticism of his behavior. Extolling him as a heroic exemplar is acceptable; describing him as an anomalous “bad apple” is not.
According to Lynch, police are victimized by an invidious double standard. After all, “when a patient dies on the operating table under dubious circumstances, elected officials don’t rush to reassure the public that not all surgeons are incompetent. If an airline pilot is caught drinking before take-off, TV talking heads don’t remind us that the majority of pilots are sober.”
Leaving aside the fact that the mechanisms of professional accountability for surgeons and pilots are much more demanding than those that exist in law enforcement, the most obvious problem with Lynch’s desperate analogy is that people in those professions are actually rendering a service to the public. Police have no enforceable duty to do likewise.
Doctors help their patients; pilots safely convey passengers to their chosen destinations. Private security personnel defend persons and property. For people in those professions, success is measured in terms of positive outcomes for paying customers, and failure is recognized as either unavoidable misfortune or culpable incompetence.
For police officers, by way of contrast, “success” results when those targeted in displays of government-sanctioned violence either submit or are subdued, often with lethal consequences — even when the recipient of that violence did nothing to warrant such treatment.
According to Lynch, the death of Eric Garner — who was suspected of selling untaxed cigarettes — at the hands of an NYPD thugscrum was a “success.” Once the officers had decided to abduct Garner, “failure” — meaning successful resistance by their victim — was no longer an option.
What should police do, Lynch complained in a recent press conference, “when we’re faced with a situation where the person being placed under arrest says, `I’m not going. I’m not being placed under arrest.’ What is it we should do? Walk away?”
If the arrestee wasn’t involved in an actual crime — and there’s no evidence that Garner had done anything other than embarrass plainclothes officers by breaking up a fight — then the inescapable answer is: Yes, the police should walk away.
“We don’t have that option,” Lynch asserts, which means that officers are entitled to “use necessary force to make that arrest.” In the case of Garner, this included the use of an illegal chokehold by officer Daniel Pantaleo, which resulted in a criminal homicide.
“There is an attitude on our streets today that it is acceptable to resist arrest,” grouses Lynch. “That attitude is a direct result of a lack of respect for law enforcement.”
Actually, that attitude is in large measure a reflection of the ever-escalating lawlessness of the government employees represented by Lynch and his comrades. It may also reflect a growing appreciation for the fact that resisting unlawful arrest — while considered a crime and prosecuted as if it were — is an ancient, venerable, and indispensable right of free people. Under the still-valid Supreme Court precedent John Black Elk v. U.S. (1900), a citizen has a legally recognized right to use lethal force to prevent the consummation of an unlawful arrest, and bystanders likewise have a right (and perhaps a moral duty) to intervene on behalf of the victim.
Like other agencies of its kind, the NYPD is well-stocked with the kind of privileged bullies who have mastered the art of simultaneously swaggering and simpering. Thus, anonymous NYPD sources described anti-police graffiti to the New York Post as “a disturbing hate crime.”
Through video surveillance, the NYPD identified 36-year-old Rosella Best as the culprit. Best tagged police vehicles and a public school with graffiti expressing such eminently defensible (if grammatically awkward) sentiments as “NYPD pick on the harmless,” “NYPD pick on the innocent,” and — in a display of familiar but increasingly justified hyperbole — “NAZIS=NYPD.” (Assuming that Best used only “public” property as her canvas, it’s difficult to identify an actual victim in this case.)
Best was charged with “criminal mischief as a hate crime.” Under Article 485 of New York Penal Law, a “hate crime” must involve “violence, intimidation [or] destruction of property” inspired by animus toward people on the basis of “race, color, national origin, ancestry, gender, religion, religious practice, age, disability, or sexual orientation.”
Absent from that inventory is any mention of occupation as a “protected category,” which means that the NYPD must consider itself to be either a tribe, a cult or perhaps even a sexual orientation, most likely one that fetishizes sadistic mistreatment of the helpless.
The statute also specifies that the offending act must be intended to “inflict on victims incalculable physical and emotional damage” and be intended to “intimidate and disrupt entire communities.” By filing a hate crimes charge against Best, the NYPD is certifying that its rank and file consists of people who are wounded and intimidated by public criticism. If the bold and valiant badasses of the NYPD must be protected from hurtful words, they’re obviously not the kind of people who “put their lives on the line to protect all New Yorkers,” as Lynch would have us pretend.
All police officers embody “selflessness and courage,” Lynch maintains. But there is one “nightmare” that burdens their waking thoughts and holds sleep in abeyance: accountability.
“We have watched in disbelief as the worst nightmare a police officer can have comes true,” wailed retired Jersey City Police Officer Robert Cubby in a post at LawEnforcementToday.com, referring to the prospect of criminal charges against Pantaleo for killing Garner. “An NYPD officer applied what was falsely called a choke hold. Moments later, the perpetrator gasped for air and died in the hospital.”
These two developments, Cubby would have us pretend, were not necessarily related. It’s not that Garner’s government-employed assailants killed him; he just chose that particular moment to die.
Now that the death of Garner — who was not a “perpetrator” of any sort, once again, but rather a man who had just broken up a fight — has been ruled a homicide, the “career of those involved from the NYPD dangles from a thread,” moans Cubby. “The officers face the worst possible nightmare; loss of their career and being thrown in jail for a good portion of the rest of their lives.”
The same would be true of anybody else who fatally assaulted another human being without cause. Cubby and people of his ilk assume that police officers must be beyond accountability for such actions and that the loss of their exalted station as dispensers of lethal force is a fate worse than death.
“While these officers now become defendants and have to, somehow, gather enough emotional strength to get through this horrible accusation [and] gather all their financial resources to defend themselves, stay out of jail and retain their jobs, it is time for the LEO family to support our NYPD brothers and sisters,” insists Cubby. He suggested that members of the state’s armed enforcement class display their solidarity with Garner’s killers through a “United We Stand with NYPD” social media campaign: Law enforcement officers and their friends were urged to change their Facebook profile picture to an upside-down NYPD flag. That green, white, and blue banner, which was adopted by the department in 1919, is draped over the coffins of officers who are killed in the line of duty.
After all, if a costumed tax-feeder can’t kill without consequence, what’s the point of living?
Cubby’s suggestion, it should be pointed out, was made before the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, in August — which led to protests, riots and a Fallujah-grade crackdown by fully militarized “local” police. The well-publicized conduct of the police in Ferguson finally forced the public to confront what the police have become. This, in turn, helped propagate an epidemic of institutional self-pity within law enforcement, and Lt. Daniel Furseth of Wisconsin’s DeForest PD came down with a particularly severe case.
“Today, I stopped caring about my fellow man,” begins Furseth’s Oct. 14 essay in American Police Beat Magazine. “I stopped caring about my community, my neighbors, and those I serve. I stopped caring today because a once noble profession has become despised, hated, distrusted, and mostly unwanted.”
Furseth, like Lynch, is disillusioned not because of what their profession has become, but because of how it is perceived by an ungrateful public that is proving itself unworthy of their sanctified overseers. Furseth also seems deaf to the implications of his own overwrought, self-fixated rhetoric: If he stopped “caring” about the people he “serves,” shouldn’t he resign? Or is he admitting to being a state-licensed sociopath with permission to inflict violence on a public he now views with unfiltered scorn and unalloyed resentment?
“I stopped caring today because parents tell their little kids to be good or `the police will take you away,’ embedding a fear from year one,” complains Furseth, offering a variation on Lynch’s complaint that even people who respect the police understand that they are agents of violence. He likewise condemns those who quite correctly describe the police as “just another tool used by government to generate `revenue.’”
In offering that particular complaint, Furseth reveals himself to be either incurably disingenuous or a stranger to the concept of irony.
DeForest, Wisconsin, is a town of about 9,000 people located not far from Madison, the state capital. It is roughly 91 percent white and has a crime rate less than one-third the national average — and a violent crime rate so low it doesn’t make the needle twitch. Revenue collection through traffic enforcement and OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) “saturation patrols” are the chief functions of that police department.
Furseth proudly describes himself as the creator of the Capital Area OWI Task Force, which regularly conducts patrols for the purpose of “pulling over drivers as often as possible in a friendly show of force,” in the oxymoron-infused language of a local news account.
The DeForest PD’s 2013 Annual Report smugly observes: “One individual stated the following on a social media site: `Dude, I refuse to drive into DeFo with anything remotely illegal in my car, it seems like there’s a cop on every street.’”
That’s a sensible precaution, given that the “friendly” people responsible for that state of affairs are not only doing everything possible to wring revenue from visitors, but are also obsessively monitoring social media.
“We represent a `Police State’ where `Jackbooted badge-wearing thugs’ randomly attack innocent people without cause or concern for constitutional rights,” laments Furseth. “We are Waco, Ruby Ridge, and Rodney King all rolled into one….”
Notably absent from his jeremiad is any acknowledgement, however qualified or tentative, that the perception he laments could possibly be justified. If he possesses so much as a particle of principled concern for the rights of innocent people, Furseth will reach beyond his privileged peer group and offer support to a local family who suffered horribly “without cause or concern for constitutional rights” in a 3 a.m. no-knock SWAT assault.
DeForest is about a half-hour from Madison, which is where the family of Bounkham Phonesavanh — more commonly known as “Baby Bou-Bou” –resides. The 20-month-old child was nearly murdered by police in Georgia on May 28 during a 3 a.m. no-knock SWAT raid. Acting on the basis of purchased intelligence from a petty criminal, the raiders attacked the home without warning, hurling a flash-bang grenade into the living room. The infernal device exploded in Bou-Bou’s crib, blowing off his nose and ripping open his chest.
The Phonesavanh family was residing temporarily with an aunt in Georgia. The parents weren’t suspected of any criminal conduct; but that didn’t prevent the invaders from assaulting the father, leaving him with a permanent shoulder injury. No drugs or other evidence was found at the home, nor was the relative suspected of drug dealing.
The tiny victim was still in a medically induced coma when Habersham County Sheriff Jerry Terrell officially exonerated the officers who had nearly murdered him: “I stand behind what our team did. There’s nothing to investigate, there’s nothing to look at.” Public outrage eventually led to a grand jury inquest, which did little more than ratify the sheriff’s claims.
Following a six-day investigation, the grand jury declined to indict the law enforcement officers who participated in that atrocity.
The prologue to the grand jury’s “Presentment” is five pages of frothy self-justification and pious persiflage emphasizing the public-spiritedness of the panel and extending sympathy to both the victims and perpetrators of this atrocity.
“Nothing can be more difficult and heart-wrenching than injuries to one’s child,” the document asserts, before suggesting that inflicting such injuries can be just as traumatic to the exalted instruments of state coercion who nearly killed Bou-Bou. “[W]e wish to extend our sympathy also to the law enforcement officers involved… [W]hat has not been seen before by others and talked or written about, is that these individuals are suffering as well.”
That “suffering,” like the nearly fatal injuries to Bou-Bou, came after an investigation that was “hurried, sloppy, and unfortunately not in accordance with the best practices and procedures.” This wasn’t “criminal negligence,” mind you, but simply the regrettable result of “well-intentioned people getting in too big a hurry, and not slowing down and taking enough time to consider the possible consequences of their actions.”
This assessment might be appropriate in describing the distracted and inattentive cook who sets fire to a stove. Applying it to people who carried out an unjustified 3 a.m. military-style assault that left an infant fighting for his life is an obscenity.
The most abhorrent passage in this document comes on page 13, where “the parents and extended family” of the victim are cut in for a share of the blame, because they supposedly “had some degree of knowledge concerning family members involved in criminal activity that came in and out of the residence.” Bou-Bou’s parents had taken refuge with relatives in Georgia after their home in Wisconsin was burned down. They weren’t implicated in the alleged wrongdoing of their relative; they were simply desperate for a place to live.
Bou-Bou’s parents, who moved back to Wisconsin in July, have been saddled with more than $1 million in medical bills. After initially promising to help defray those expenses, Habersham County officials — displaying the selective, self-serving fastidiousness for “law” that is so typical of tyrants and bureaucrats — now insist that it would be “illegal” to do so.
Daniel Furseth is a neighbor to the Phonesevanh family. He ends his essay with a self-dramatizing flourish: “Yes, I stopped caring today. But tomorrow, I will put my uniform back on and I will care again.”
If the compass of his caring extends beyond his comrades in the coercive caste — and there is videotaped evidence that he has a soft spot for small children — Furseth really should extend his sympathies to the Phonesevanhs, perhaps by organizing a fundraising effort to help those innocent people pay the costs of restoring their mangled baby to health.
By doing so, however, Furseth would acknowledge that decent people have abundant reason to look upon the police with fear and suspicion. And that is a concession he probably cannot bring himself to make.

It's Just A Movie... But Is It?

My friend and fellow blogger Bill McDonald aka Morongobill, said in reference to a comment I made about some movie once while riding down to Sammy's Camera, "it's only a movie." But is it? Isn't it more? You could also say, it's just a book. A lot of people over the centuries have said just that. Bill has a preference for books, but none for movies. Like most people he sees movies as nothing but entertainment, like a fictional book, just a story, with no value beyond that. But is that true? Think about it. Non-fiction is easy basically it's history. But, let's look at fictional books for a moment. In fiction, the writer has a tougher job than a non-fiction author, he must create a world that we the readers recognize, understand, and accept, at the very least as possible, if not being our own world. He must create characters that fit the same parameters. For this reason the job is at the very best difficult, at the worst impossible as illustrated by thousands of bad books. For instance regarding bad books, I started reading a book called "A Game of Thrones," a fantasy which with the others in its series is the basis of a TV show. It was recommended by a guy I work with, who watches the TV show. So far I'm about 30 pages into it and the ignorance and violence, the psychotic nature of the characters is disturbing and unreal. It's set in a supposed time I suppose similar to the middle ages.
But, you can't say it's just a book, I'd like to, but a lot of people enjoy and believe the story it tells, and see the characters in themselves. See the fantasy world disturbing as it is as possible.
To me most movies, and books, are windows into worlds I'll never experience or into the past. But some like "Game of Thrones," and its ilk, like a lot of video games are windows into worlds most of us could not, or would not, or should not recognize.
Thinking about it I have to add: It seems that all of it, movies, TV and books of all kinds are descending to the lowest common denominator at the speed of light, as are people themselves and life in general in many ways. I'll leave the how and why to your imagination.

Found this article about a theory for why Reid is trying to force a rancher whose family has been ranching there for well over 100 years out at Original Article: Personal Liberty . This article details a great deal of the corruption in the Reid regime, if not done in his own name it's his family and friends. Like the Godfather he seems to be running a protection racket among other crimes. Read this article and watch the video it'll start to open your eyes to the criminal corruption running rampant throughout our government from Washington down the line to our smallest village.
The only people that need to turn out an armed response like what happened at the Bundy ranch, and Waco, and Ruby Ridge, and dozens if not hundreds of other places are Emperors, Tsars, Dictators and those who believe they're Emperors, Tsars, or Dictators. They use the military and militarized police to hold those that they think they rule, those that they believe they're better than, those that they consider scum and terrorists, in other words people like us, you and me, because we dare to stand up to them. Well, I've got news for them, this country was built by people like us and betrayed, corrupted, and on its way to destruction because of people like them, like Obama who has expressed his hatred and contempt for this country publicly, by the Bush's George I and II, together with their minions.

Government Assault On Nevada Ranch?

Hello, I’m Wayne Allyn Root for Personal Liberty. I live in Las Vegas. I live and breathe Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it.

I am, of course, referring to the Bundy ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the Bureau of Land Management. The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch, including snipers with assault rifles, SUVs, helicopters, airplanes and more than 200 heavily armed troops. No matter whether you come down on the side of the government or the ranch family, I think all of us can agree this was excessive force.

But forget all that. I believe the more important question is: Why is this case so important to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Reid, and what was his involvement in this controversial assault?

Let’s start with Reid’s obsession with the case. Just on Monday evening he weighed in again, promising, “This isn’t over.”

Doesn’t it strike anyone as strange that the U.S. Senate Majority Leader is so obsessed with a small rancher who hasn’t paid grazing fees? Does New York Senator Chuck Schumer get involved publicly when a New York company is late paying rent to the U.S. government?

Doesn’t the Senate Majority Leader have anything more important to think about? There are almost 100 million working-age Americans no longer working. More Americans are today on entitlements than working in the private sector. More Americans are on food stamps than the number of women working in America. Iran is building a nuclear bomb. Russian jet fighters are threatening American ships. Yet Reid obsesses about a rancher late on his rent? Something smells fishy, folks.

There are other questions raised about Reid’s involvement. Why did this assault become the No. 1 priority of government only days after a senior political adviser to Reid took over BLM? Coincidence?

Government appeared completely uninterested in backing down for days on end… and completely unconcerned with instigating a deadly confrontation like Waco or Ruby Ridge. Then suddenly, Reid’s involvement was brought up by conservative websites across the Internet. Instantly, out of the blue — within hours of Reid’s name being attached to the raid — the BLM decided to back down, pack up and walk away. Don’t you think that this timing was a tad too coincidental?

It has been pointed out by journalists intent on covering for Reid that a $5 billion Chinese solar project backed by Reid was recently shelved. But what they forgot to mention is Reid’s involvement in multiple solar and wind projects across the Nevada desert. Only days ago, Reid was featured in a photo at a groundbreaking ceremony for a new solar project. Where is that project located? Thirty-five miles from the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville, Nev.

Reid’s fingers are in virtually every solar and wind project in the Nevada desert. Green energy is his obsession. Green energy is his baby. His vision is turning the Nevada desert into the “Green Energy Capital of America.”

Who benefits from that vision? Democratic donors who run green energy companies. Who stands in the way of that vision? Nevada’s ranchers, farmers and property owners — almost all of whom are diehard Tea Party conservatives and patriots, who despise Reid.

Reid and the BLM needed a “cover story” to take the land away from the ranchers. So they claim it’s about protecting the “endangered” desert tortoise.

But if the protection of the desert tortoise was so important to the BLM, why did the same BLM kill hundreds of desert tortoises last fall?

If protecting the tortoises was so important, why has the BLM constantly waived rules protecting the desert tortoise for multiple solar and wind projects? If cattle are a danger to tortoises, why are solar panels and wind turbines not a danger?

There’s much more to this story, folks. My educated guess is that someone in the government already has big plans lined up for the Bundy ranch. Someone is going to make a financial killing with this forceful land grab. Someone powerful in government wants the Bundy family off their land (after 140 years).

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. It was Reid who famously made a guess about Mitt Romney’s taxes. He guessed wrong. No one seemed to mind. So now it’s time for all of us to ask questions about Reid’s involvement in this scandal and government land grab. It’s time for the media to investigate.

I’m only guessing, but something smells very rotten in Nevada.

Was What Is Now Undersea Once Above Ground???

They're now saying there's as much or more oil available for deep drilling than what was available in on land oil pools. Oil allegedly comes from organic material from thousands of years ago that disintegrated and pooled into petroleum deep underground, and apparently underground miles under the ocean. It suggests that what we now see as ocean was once dry ground with an abundance of the organic material that becomes oil, and long enough ago that as it became oil thousands of feet of ground formed over it, before it sank or was covered over by the sea. It makes me wonder how many times this earth has been terra-formed between civilizations or even species? It also suggests that in this world as long as oil is necessary we'll have oil, once we no longer need it, it'll go away.

I was watching a program on TV today about Jericho, you know "Joshua fit the battle of Jericho, Jericho, Joshua fit the battle of Jericho, and the walls come a tumblin' down," yep that's the one.
In this program they talked about the archeology of discovering that old Jericho. It seems that in the time of Joshua's attack on Jericho, the city was perhaps in its third incarnation with a population of 1200. They said that at this time it was surrounded by a mud brick wall built 15 feet high and 6 feet deep, and this city was built on top of another, which was built on top of another, creating a mound that put the Jericho of the time 50 feet high. the lower wall was also mud brick, but the lowest was made of cut stone. Which suggests that whoever built the lowest stone wall had superior technology, that both of the mud brick walls were built by inferior civilizations. Of course today we're still using mud brick

Long a popular material, brick retains heat, with-stands corrosion, and resists fire. But the first wall was stone, meaning that they possibly knew more. The program suggests that Joshua's battle took place somewhere around 1400-1500 BC, the city was rebuilt on top of the one that went before, but how long before, how and why was it so covered over with dirt that they couldn't just rebuild it, or possibly didn't even know it was under there. The same question applies to the stone walled city. That was the first question that came to mind. The modern city of Jericho sits there in the valley and on the outskirts a mound that's said to be Joshua's Jericho, where they're exploring and have found the walls.
If you think about it, if entire cities have been covered and built over here, why not anywhere, everywhere? It's been said there are underground portions of many cities that few of us know about, London, New York, Rome, and others I'm sure. How does it happen?
More important is if there were civilizations in the distant, distant, distant past, with steel skyscrapers, freeways, computers, cars, trucks, airplanes, all the things that we're sure make ours the greatest that ever existed, perhaps they're buried, buried far below in the ground and built over. Something to think about.

Working At My Last Job Is Over, Starting The Next Soon

I gave notice at my last job, to go to another company, where they won't make a liar out of me, intentionally or unintentionally. I was working as a loan officer for a company that's represented on TV, providing reverse mortgages to senior citizens. I'm not going to mention company names, let's just say we weren't represented by the Fonz or Mr. Hart.
Going through training to get licensed was tough and took a long time but was very satisfying. I admit I was very proud for having accomplished it.
The problems started when talking to the seniors who called looking for loans. So many were desperate it broke your heart. I was told you need a thick skin to do this job. I talked to one woman early on who was desperate, but so broke she couldn't come up with the counseling and appraisal fees, so she was unable to get the loan that might have saved her from living hand to mouth. Two others were widows whose husbands had passed and they'd gone through the money left them one way or another, and wanted the loans to help get by, both spent money they didn't have to qualify, but the process dragged, it can take 90 days or longer, but we were told not to say that, one started in Sept. and was still dragging on when I left mid-December, the other started in Oct. and while approved wouldn't close until Jan. She the second one, was trying to pay off her mortgage and get some money to fix her car, and provide Christmas for her grand kids, one grandson was going into the service in Dec. The day I left I had an email that they needed more info from the appraiser, and a couple days later I heard that her appraisal came in lower than anticipated meaning cash out to her was probably cut in half or less, meaning even if it closed in Dec. no Christmas. It breaks your heart, it really does. I came to the realization that I wasn't cutting it, I was telling some people not to get the loan, others I was having to disqualify, others I was forced to make excuses to, for in some cases the company's incompetence, in other cases for theirs even when they had no control like with the appraisal. Another guy, had spent all his money taking care of his parents, both of whom had Alzheimer's, another's wife was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's and he was taking 1-2000 out of savings each month, both were hoping the loans would help them build their reserves back up. Another was a lady who was also running out of money, having only enough to go another 10 or 11 months and wanted the loan to carry her until her Teachers annuity kicked in in two years. There was also a wonderful Christian lady in So. Carolina who I talked to a lot, she and her husband were going to use the loan to fix up their house. All of these and others were dragging on and on.
I finally got fed up and applied for another job, but then my manager and the company gave me additional training, and it worked, I really appreciated and appreciate, their concern, and help, honestly they were great. But after things got better, they started tailing off again, and it got so it was all I could do to go in and take calls. I'd lost faith in myself, the company and product, thinking it was just another phone room, selling a product that was supposed to help but instead hurt. Part of that was two people that called in to get loans, both of whom had been active in the mortgage business one way or another, and both of whom read me the riot act after seeing the cost, saying that our costs were outrageous, one told me that if I could honestly sell a loan with those costs... The other had fees of about 7000. when I talked to them but when the notary did the initial signing the fees had jumped to about 11,000. on a loan of around 130,000. He was incensed. I called around and talked to several companies and found their interest rates were 2.25-2.5% We were charging 3.0-3.5% This was on adj. rate loans. Fixed were the same thing, high.
Well, I feel better....
