The film "Heima" is one of the strangest, most peaceful, beautifully shot films I can remember seeing. Here's the youtube trailer... but it's worth checking out the higher def version at the official website T

Fired Up? Ready to go?

Whilst this video for the Barack Obama campaign (from Will.i.am and assorted other celebrities) has got a lot of attention.... ...I really like this one of one of Obama's stump speeches. I'm normally immune to this sort of thing, but I've found myself saying "fired up? ready to go?" to get myself out of bed on a grey february morning.

This video. It does what it says on the tin. It may well be an audition tape for the scariest cooking show ever devised. "Then, you see, I ripped off the little chicken's arms". Or it might just be a sweet old man cooking a chicken.

Stars on Sesame Street

I'm sure that today's children's programmes are tested by educationalists and ideally matched to the developmental needs of 4-8 year olds, but they lack a little 'zing' compared to kids' TV from the seventies. Exhibits A, B, C and D. Celebrity appearances on Sesame Street. Furry Happy Monsters, by REM. Elmo picks up the Method from "Elmo's friend Mr De Niro". A perhaps quite baked Richard Pryor, riffing throught the alphabet. The whole time, it looks like he's reminding himself not to swear. And finally - drinking, smoking, death, gambling. Can you imagine this appearing on any kids programme on TV today? Kenny Rogers with "The Gambler".
