The “Half Barrel” is a half-marathon in brewery terms. And although it’s a “beer run,” I don’t recommend getting drunk the night before, but oh well; it was still a fun run! Well, if you like to sweat like a pig, that is! For just a 2-mile run I looked like I ran through a car wash along the way.&amp;nbsp;
Whatever, I was sweating like a horse then! Regardless of pigs and sweat, tonight's run felt damn good, as if I was running my target pace (for a short run w/out a backpack). Since sometime in May I've been running running with a backpack that when full of water weighs in at 30 lb's. I would've thought this would get my "run as fast as I can" pace back down to 6mm's, but much to my surprise, I'm not any faster than I usually run without a 'case of beer' strapped to my back! First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers go to the people of Hawaii, as I used to live there. When I lived there&amp;nbsp; at first I was stuck at Schofield Baracks, but then I was lucky enough to move to a golf resort just off the beach.&amp;nbsp;

Started out a very hectic and stressful day. Around lunch time Kara asked me to run later and of course, I said...hell yeah! We decided on 5 o'clock and it was not exactly my happy hour!
Just before she got to my house, I realized I hadn't eaten all day. But did have a pot of coffee. So I whipped up 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, half can of Pringles and 2 yogurts. It was just a wet and dim day, but it was a good run for a lunch break! We started out with a few hills to warm up and then quickly realized that drivers really didn't give a hoot about runners today!

We felt like the kids in this video...

Moreover, we never asked to be splashed today! That's it and Kara says she will run some hill repeats with me next time!

Managed to get in 30-miles for the week and for a Sunday run these last 7-miles were the worst! Spent most of the first and part of the second mile responding to an email. Have you ever tried typing on a BlackBerry while running?

This run would've been a quick 'n easy 3-miler; however, I decided to throw this hill at myself. 
If you look at the elevation chart below, at about 3/4 of a mile I ascended up the hill. Then at almost exactly 1-mile I made my descent and it seems a TON steeper running down! Before I knew it, I was zig-zagging down the hill like a skier!
