In my last few guides I have gone into in depth detail about how to tank in both official wars and fun wars. This guide will teach you a few simple ways to counteract tankers.

NOTE: This guide may look similar to my previous guide. This is only because I’m using the some of the pictures from the previous guide.

How to counteract with Melee
Countering tankers with melee is pretty simple. You can use it in cases like this:

All you have to do is to keep clicking on your opponent and attacking them while they attempt to tank. This will make you follow their footsteps while they tank, effectively making their tanking useless.

Counteracting with ranged
Counteracting with ranged is also easy. When they try to tank, all you have to do is pull out your bow and attack them. You can use this in these cases:

While they attempt to tank, all your character will do is continue to attack them.

Counteracting with magic
Counteracting with magic is a little harder, as there are two ways you can do this. You can the first in all of the above cases. All you have to do is pull out your staff and start attacking with magic.

The other is specially reserved for cases like this:

This strategy involves binding the tanker and then attacking them with melee or ranged.

High-Level Herblore potions recently came out on October 7th. What this means is that once you hit 85 Herblore you get the ability to make Super-Antifire potions (Super Prayer at level 94), and at level 88 you get the chance to make Extreme-Potions up to level 96, including the Overload potion, which is a potion giving you the added bonuses of all the Extreme Potions. The potions are as follows:

~Super antifire 85
~Extreme attack	88
~Extreme strength 89
~Extreme defense 90
~Extreme magic 91
~Extreme ranging	92
~Super prayer 94
~Overload 96

These potions add bigger bonuses to your already level of which ever skill; Attack, Strength, Defense, Magic, and Ranging. While the Super Prayer and Super Antifire give you better points and protection. This update caused a lot of people to start complaining about the bonus, given that they don’t have the level of Herblore required to make the potions, and what makes it even worse is that, these potions are untradeable! Those of us who have trained Herblore, know that its one of the most expensive skills on RuneScape. If its not the cost of herbs, its the cost of added ingredients. If you are on the poorer side of RuneScape, you are forced to search for the added ingredients or the herbs, which range from a few gold pieces, up to 3k or more for one herb. Not only is Herblore expensive, but many people do not train it, simply because most of the potions you need are sold in the Grand Exchange. You can easily get your hands on prayer potions, and it is much cheaper to buy the potion than make it, or get the level to make it.

So we come to the problem that people are angry about. Not only is it expensive, but now they have to train up to level 88 to even get to the first Extreme Potion, and bet on it, that you will be spending millions of gold pieces to get there. You can not even make money off these potions to add up for all the money you just spent getting there. Of course you can make other potions to make up for the money lost, but you usually do not make any profit out of it.

So, we come to the question, is it worth the amount of time and money spent to be able to make these potions? There are both pros and cons. I believe that if you really want to be able to do these, you will ignore the cons and just go for it. It all depends on your wealth, and determination. Of course, congratulations on those of you who have reached the level to make these potions, and even 99 Herblore, because most of us wouldn’t have been able too.

What do you guys think?

There are five different arenas in clan wars, each of them in which you can tank defensively. Each has it’s own advantages and disadvantages to tanking.
NOTE: In the diagrams below, red indicates the enemy’s movements, blue indicates your’s.

Runescape Clan Wars Classic

This arena is a good place to tank. Not brilliant, nor is it bad, but just plainly good. There are two main places where you can tank here.
The first one is right outside your portal:

Here, it is a one on one arena. Tanking isn’t much use here unless you want a teammate to help you by attacking your opponent instead of you, or you just want to annoy the opponent. You can do a similar way of tanking wherever you find these rocks. The second one is around the barriers scattered over this arena:

This is a multi zone, where you can effectively use your tanking to lure many or all of the opponents into attacking you whilst your teammates effectively destroy them. The one setback here is if there is a mage or ranger, your tanking is pretty much useless unless your teammates immediately kill the mage/ranger or you use a protect prayer.

Plateau

The plateau is also a brilliant place to tank, as it actually nearly stops rangers from getting to you. To attack you in this arena, the rangers have to go around the rock, just like the warriors do. This may not apply in a few cases, but it usually does. However, this is also a multi arena, so you need to watch your health and prayer points.

All you need to do is run around to the other side of the rock whenever your opponent attempts to run over to your side.

Blasted Forest

The blasted forest is a completely one on one arena, so there’s not much point tanking here. However, you could tank if you merely want to annoy the opponent or if you want your teammate to attack the opponent instead of you.

Firstly, you can tank around the trees. There a plenty of them around this arena, and the concept of tanking here is similar to the one in the plateau.

You can also tank around the large “graveyard” area, but I don’t recommend this as it can quickly waste your run energy.

Forsaken Quarry

In the Forsaken Quarry, there are plenty of rocks scattered around, making it a good place to tank. However, as mages or rangers can actually attack over the rocks in this arena, it is suggested that you or your team kill them first before you attempt to tank the warriors.

First off, you can tank around the rocks. Just run around them whenever your opponent attempts to attack you.

You can also go around the “graveyard” area, but this will rapidly deplete your run energy.

Turrets

Lastly, there’s the Turrets arena. This can be called a “tanker’s paradise”. Everywhere you look, there’s places where tankers can take advantage of. Tankers here can hold off mages, rangers and warriors for an extended period of time.

First off, there’s the steps. Whilst magers and rangers can still get you here, you can easily tank out warriors, simply by running up and down the stairs and to either side of them.

Secondly, there’s the barriers. Magers and rangers have to run around these to get you, making them the same effective as warriors. Therefore, you can easily tank all three combat types out around these barriers.

Introduction
A magic tanker in clan wars is effective against warriors, and can annoy the opposition by binding and running or hugging. Strong magic spells combined with prayer make a formidable opponent.
NOTE: This is a suggestive guide only. You may be able to find other alternatives, or just clan war using your own devices.

Suggested stats:
At least 59 magic (to use fire blast)
At least 60 defence (to withstand attacks)
At least 43 prayer

Equipment and inventory
A magic tanker should wear the following equipment and have the appropriate inventory:
Full combat robes
(Alternatives: Full wizard set, full Runecrafting robes set)
Staff of Fire
(Alternatives: Water staff, earth staff, air staff)
Amulet of Magic
(Alternatives: Amulet of Power)
Colourful boots
(Alternatives: Fighting boots, any other boots)
Any kind of gloves
(Alternatives: Green d’hide vambraces)
Rune Berserker
(Alternatives: Rune Kiteshield, Anti-dragonfire shield)
Optional: Explorer’s Ring 3
(Alternatives: Explorer’s Ring 2, Explorer’s Ring 1)

In their inventory there should also be the following:
One hundred (100)+ death/chaos runes. This may be a bit too less.
Two thousand (200)+ air runes. NOTE: These aren’t needed if you’re using air blast.
Twenty four (24) Swordfish/Anchovy Pizzas. NOTE: Lobsters will work as well, although they won’t heal as much.
Rune 2h. You never know when it might come in handy.
Strength Potion.
Optional: Full melee gear.
Optional: Binds.

Prayers
When fighting, magic tankers should not bother using any boost prayers, as the blast won’t hit anymore anyway. Instead, they should save their prayer points for Protection prayers, for when a Warrior or ranger decides to attack them.

43 Prayer

Equipment and inventory
A balanced tanker should wear the following armour:
Rune full helm
(Alternatives: Green d’hide coif, Leather coif)
Green d’hide body
(Alternatives: Rune chainbody)
Rune platelegs
(Alternatives: Rune plateskirt, Green d’hide chaps)
Green d’hide vambraces
(Alternatives: Rune Gauntlets)
Maple Bow
(Alternatives: None)
Adamant arrows (suggested amount: 1000)
(Alternatives: Mithril arrows, steel arrows, iron arrows)
Fighting boots
(Alternatives: Colourful boots, any other kind of boots)
Optional: Explorer’s Ring 3
(Alternatives: Explorer’s Ring 2, Explorer’s Ring 1)

The high ranged tanker is suggested to have the following stats:
40+ Defence (For green d’hide)
80+ Ranged
43 Prayer
With the following armour:
Green d’hide coif
(Alternatives: Leather coif, Rune full helm)
Green d’hide body
(Alternatives: Rune chainbody)
Green d’hide chaps
(Alternatives: Rune plateskirt, Rune platelegs)
Green d’hide vambraces
(Alternatives: Rune Gauntlets)
Adamant arrows (suggested amount: 1000)
(Alternatives: Mithril arrows, steel arrows, iron arrows)
Fighting boots
(Alternatives: Colourful boots, any other kinds of boots)
Optional: Explorer’s Ring 3
(Alternatives: Explorer’s Ring 2, Explorer’s Ring 1)

Both ranged tanker types should also have the following inventory:
Twenty six (26) Swordfish/Anchovy Pizzas. NOTE: Lobsters will work as well, although they won’t heal as much.
Rune 2h.
Strength Potion.
Optional: Full melee gear.

Prayers
When fighting, both of the ranged tanker groups should attempt to use the “Hawk’s Eye” prayer when possible, for a chance of hitting higher. When attacked, ranged tankers should turn off the boost and turn on their Protection prayer.

The two different tankers
There are advantages and disadvantages for both the ranged tanker types. The balanced ranged tanker has a higher chance of not being hit, but a lower rate of damage to the opponent. The high ranged tanker has a higher chance of being hit, but also a higher damage rate to the opponent. The balanced tanker is suggested for long, drawn out battles.

Introduction
The melee tanker is unique among the tankers, in the fact that it relies more upon maneouvering the opponents and luring them, as well as making them chase you. Melee tankers attack when necessary, and are extremely effective in multi-combat zones where there are plenty of obstacles.

Stats
A melee tanker should have the following stats:
60+ defence (to avoid getting hit as much)
43 Prayer
40 Attack (Optional, only for when you go on offensive)
60+ Strength (Optional, only for when you go on offensive)

Equipment and Inventory
The melee tanker should wield the following equipment:
Rune full helm
(Alternatives: Rune Med Helm)
Rune Platebody
(Alternatives: Rune Chainbody)
Rune Berserker
(Alternatives: Rune Kiteshield, Rune spikeshield)
Rune Scimitar(Offensive)/Fire Staff(Defensive)
(Alternatives: Rune Battle-Axe, any kind of Staff)
Rune Platelegs
(Alternatives: Rune Plateskirt)
Rune Gauntlets (FoG)
(Alternatives: Green D’hide vambraces)
Any kind of boots
(Alternatives: Fighting boots, Colourful boots)
Amulet of Power
(Alternatives: Amulet of Strength, Amulet of Magic)

They should also have the following inventory:
Staff of Fire (or any other staff. The Runecrafting staffs are more effective)
Rune 2h
Strength Pot
Twenty five (25) Lobsters

Prayers
The melee tanker should rely more on their defense and armour rather than prayer. They should only pray when they are eating, or if their being piled. Other than that, their defense should be able to withstand most attacks.

A Weakness
The melee tanker has one weakness: Magic. Of course, the protect against magic prayer can partly counteract this, but keeping it on the whole time can drain prayer fast. If a melee tanker encounters any mages, they need to make sure they kill them as fast as they can, or attempt to lose them. It is because of this that Melee tankers often set the war settings so that magic and ranged are off.

There are a few terms and strategies in Runescape Clan Wars that all official clans must be familiar with. For non-official clans, or just individual players, it also helps to know these.

Hugging
When a player runs around the outside of a particular arena in Clan Wars, this is called hugging. This process allows you to catch players on opposing teams around the edges of the arena, making sure that you don’t get hit as much as well. This strategy is particularly useful when you are tanking in the Turrets arena.

Piling
Piling is when everyone in the clan attacks one specified person in the other team. Piling is very important in big wars, especially if your clan is outnumbered. The leader of the clan or someone in a similar position will call the name or level of the person to be piled (usually the lowest level), and everyone is expected to attack that person until they’re dead. This is helpful if the target is eating, as many attacks rained upon them at once will eventually kill them when they can’t eat fast enough. This strategy can prove extremely successful in the Turrets or plateau arena, as there are no one-on-one areas. In the Forest arena, this strategy is completely useless, as the whole arena is one-on-one.

Binding
Binding is also very important, as it stops the other team from hugging. Binding, as the name itself suggests, is when someone uses the spell to immobilise an opponent. This also helps in piles, as it stops the target from running or tanking.

Tanking
Commonly, a tanker is a player who has high defence and high ranged and/or mage. However, in clan wars, a tanker is a player who runs around the arena, manouevering the opponent into positions where the tanker won’t be attacked but the opponent is still liable to attacks from the tanker’s clan and/or himself. A full inventory of food is required to tank successfully, although it’s not necessary. This strategy I’ll go through more on my next guide.

Fall in
Falling in is when everyone in the clan follows one person, usually the leader. There are many ways players tell others to fall in. The most common are “fall in”, “fi” or “fallz”.

DD
“DD” stands for “death dot”. This is when everyone stands on the same spot, making it look as though there’s only one person there although there are many waiting to ambush the unsuspecting opponent. This strategy is extremely useful is you want to catch the opponent unawares. To form a DD, right click on the spot where the DD is being formed and click “walk here”.

So, that’s the end of this basic Runescape clan wars guide. Next one will get more in depth. Please leave some feedback and comments on botht he article and what you’d like to know more about.

Prayer is one of the most boring skills in runescape, but with a high prayer level you will have huge advantages, from lasting longer at God Wars Dungeon or beating your opponent in PKing. This method I’m going to explain will make prayer a huge lot faster
(note: members only)

First of before starting, you will need to have a nice amount of cash depending on the level you want and the level you are at at the moment. It cost me 5.6mil to get 50-70 prayer using big bones, but 70+ it gets alot more expensive. (you can start this method at any level you want, even level 1!)

Regarding your equipment, the is no required items, but weight reducing items and 40+ summoning are recommended. Now you may be wondering, Why do i need summoning for prayer? Well, at 40 summoning you can summon a Bull ant, this familiar holds up to 9 extra items, and at 52 you can summon a spirit terror bird which holds up to 12 extra items! This will make your prayer experience much faster.

Now for the method, head over to the grand exchange and buy as many dragon bones (or big bones) as you want, then hop to World 31 and head to yanille. Once there summon your familiar an stock it with your bones, and withdraw a full inventory of bones. Head to the Player-owned-house portal, and stand outside saying “Need gilded Altar” when someone says the name of player who owns the altar, head into their house. Once in their house use your bones on the Gilded altar and watch the xp come in! using dragon bones on a gilded altar wil give you 350% more xp than burying it!

When you have used all your bones on the altar head out of the house and run to the bank and restock and repeat! You will have a high prayer level in no time!

Here is a picture of yannille showing the bank and the portal, with the distance between them.

That’s my guide to prayer experience, please comment and post any suggestions that you have to make the guide better, or to make prayer experience faster.

Yaks are monster of the Fremennik isle of Neitiznot, they are level 22 and have 50HP so they are very good xp.
You will roughly get around 50k+ per hour on yaks, so they are very fast.

Requirements:
You must have finished Fremennik Trials and started Fremennik isles. To get to do these quests you need have some stat requirements:

1. 20 Construction
2. 40 Agility
3. 46 Crafting
4. 56 Woodcutting

How to get there:

There are a few ways to get there, you can either run from camelot to Rellekka, teleport to house (if your house is in Rellekka) and use the fairy ring (AJR). Once your are in Rellekka, just follow the route on the map and you will come to the yaks.

Equipment:

Melee

Your armour doesn’t need to have a high defence bonus so regarding your armour, you can wear pretty much anything you wanrt because the yaks won’t really hit you at all.

For your weapon use a whip if training defence or attack, and for strength, a godsword or saradomin sword.

Ranged

Same for Melee, you don’t really need a high defence bonus, so black dragonhide will do just fine. For the best results, use iron knives or darts because of their speed, yet they wil still kill the yaks quite effeciently. If you don’t want to buy any knives or Darts, Magic shortbow will do aswell.

Inventory:

Depending on how long you want to stay there you will need around 15 sharks, and some super attack and strength potions.

That concludes my guide, please leave any comments that you may have and please post any suggestions to make the guide better.
