Time Limits – When surfing for credits, most traffic exchanges require you to view a site for a minimum amount of time before you earn a credit. This is normally somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds. The longer you have to view a page means the slower you can surf, but it also means longer that potential customers view your pages.

Anti Cheat Mechanisms – To ensure that a real person is viewing your web site most Traffic Exchanges use anti cheating mechanisms. This usually means that instead of clicking a "Next Site" button you have to click on a specific graphic such as a number, letter, picture or colored icon from a selection of a few, to proceed to the next site. Repeated failure to do this correctly means account suspension or termination. Look for a Traffic Exchange with a system like this to ensure that your credits are not wasted on cheaters who never view your page.

Referrals – This is the fastest way to build up your credits. Most Traffic Exchanges provide you with

While this may be the least sexiest component of SEO, it is a definite must-have. A Meta Tag is a line of code that is contained in the background of a web page. Search engines look at meta tags to learn more about what the page is about.

Meta tags don’t quite have the level of SEO importance as they used to but are still very important. Back in the day, websites abused meta tags to increase their rankings by including far too many keywords. Now search engines are smarter and give more weight to inbound links and page content for ranking instead. However, they still play an important role to an SEO strategy. Make sure to use these on all of your pages.

If you’re not a web guru, most website editors and content management systems enable you to easily edit meta tags without coding knowledge. If you don’t have an editor, you can simply open a web page file (ending in .htm, .html, .asp or .php) in Notepad or a plain text editor and the meta tags will be found near the top of the document.

Creating a sitemap is easy. You can find sitemap generators online that will create the .xml file for you. Once you get the .xml file, simply upload it to the root directory of your website (e.g. www. website.com/sitemap.xml).
If your website is updated regularly, make it a good practice to update your xml file at least once a month so search engines have the freshest data.

Three Things to Consider When Marketing With Traffic Exchanges

When marketing with traffic exchanges there are some important issues that need to be taken into consideration before you begin. If you do not make a solid marketing plan with realistic expectations, then you are likely to be disappointed when your campaign falters. Here are some things to consider before you even start marketing with traffic exchanges.

1. Types of Traffic Exchanges: Manual v Automatic

There are a variety of different traffic exchanges that you could use and they all have unique features that need to be taken into consideration. The basic delineation is manual vs. automatic traffic exchanges. If there’s one question I probably hear more than any other, it is, “Do traffic exchanges work any more? In fact, have they ever worked?"

The simple answer is, yes, and yes. They have always been useful, and they still are. There are two useful methods for getting traffic to your site that will probably never die, though they have been evolving steadily. One is banner advertising (more on that, another time) and the other is traffic exchanges (TE’s), like the one on Adlandpro and many others. The variety of style and type is almost endless.

The big mistake that most people make with traffic exchanges, which is why so many now say they don’t work, is actually using one or two TE’s to advertise their primary business. Never do that! The second thing people do is advertise an affiliate page on traffic exchanges. That also is a big mistake. A bunch of other people are doing the same thing.

What you want to do with traffic exchanges is to raise your profile on the search engines (especially Google.) You will not do this by joining a TE and advertising your business on it. In fact, that can drive your profile down.

What you need to do is join a lot of traffic exchanges and get a lot of people to join those TE’s under you. Treat them as a business in themselves, where the payout is traffic for you that grows on its own and sends traffic to your website from many different places. This can only happen if you build good downlines in as many as you can.

Cater to your market in order to be targeted to it. On TE’s the people want traffic, so that’s what to advertise. Find and advertise anything you can that is related to creating traffic and that will help build your downlines. By working steadily every day to build your downlines in as many of these sites as you can find, you will gradually build an unstoppable flow of traffic that is just waiting for you to really put it to work.

Traffic is the lifeblood of any business. Without it, you’re dead. There is no one way or one “magic bullet” for getting traffic. The bottom line is, you need targeted traffic, and you need lots of it. Blogging, commenting on other forums and blogs, meeting and sharing on social media, email marketing, traffic exchanges, banner advertising, text marketing, and phone calls are all tools that work, but work best when combined.

Used every method you can to bring traffic to your website, including traffic exchanges, but above all, be consistent, create a plan and do it every day. Persistence beats brilliance and luck almost every time!

Auto Traffic Magnet is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So I decided to put it to the test...

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless--they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive--I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads--the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Auto Traffic Magnet" links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Auto Traffic Magnet Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way--links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!

After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Auto Traffic Magnet link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Auto Traffic Magnet link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Auto Traffic Magnet. So if anyone clicks the Auto Traffic Magnet image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Auto Traffic Magnet links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Auto Traffic Magnet (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Auto Traffic Magnet image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Auto Traffic Magnet really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Auto Traffic Magnet. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.
