Tagxedo is a free program where you choose your words, shapes and fonts and it creates a fun word cloud. You can enter your blog address and it will make a cloud of all the words from your site. You can easily go in and remove any words you don't want. So many options.. you can print save and share the HTML code. I did have to play around in it for a while to get the hang of everything but it was very simple. You can google "Tagxedo Tutorial" to find tons of tutorials for what ever project you have in mind!

I did a heart shape for my daughter's Room. I entered all the words I could think of that describe her. I printed my new artwork on photo paper and framed it. Instant Personalized Artwork! I'm going to start making these for gifts. My 13 year old niece will love this for her birthday. Oh, and they will make such cute teacher gifts too!

TIPS:

To make a word bigger just type it in multiple times and to make a double word like social butterfly trpe it in using a ~ instead of a space "social~butterfly" It will become one word.
To skip a word go to Word/Layout Options and select the skip tab

Seasons Greetings!

For those of you that have followed me on Facebook you know what a crazy exciting time this is for me. The past couple of months have been life changing and my family and NEW home need me . So rather than beat myself up about not posting as often, I'm going to go on a little bloggy holiday until January. I'm really excited about 2012 and all of the wonderful things I have up my sleeve to share with you. Hopefully, I will have a little Etsy shop launched in 2012!

In the meantime, I will still be reading my daily blogs and hope that you will stay in touch with me on the Glitter Facebook Page. I will updating and sharing my favorite posts there.

I will be missing all the wonderful people I have connected with but will be back sooner than later!

i am lauryn from

i am so excited to be here today.

kelly is a doll for having me.

here's a little bit about the girl behind love notes:

i LOVE art.

dance. music. drawing. design. crafts. fashion. beauty

i love it ALL!!

i love designing wedding announcements.

that's what got this whole thing started.

(hence the LOVE notes)

but then i decided to not only list things to sell, but to share my adventures with you all!

love notes is my little online sanctuary to spread some design LOVE. and i love it. :)

i now focus on selling my stuff at my shop lulu's little loft.

i would love for you to check the blog and/or shop out if you get the chance!

here is a post i want to share with you that was posted on the love notes blog a little bit ago:

a vinyl calendar, but with no machine!

unfortunately, i do not have a cricut or a silhouette.

as much as i would like one, i am still a fairly newlywed... and have to save my mulah.

but i REALLY wanted a vinyl calendar.

i looked all over, but could never found one i liked.

so i got a 12x12 sheet of vinyl and decided to make one myself.

all i did was divide the glass (i marked with dry erase so it wasn't permanent) into squares

then cut the vinyl sheet into strips. thankfully the back was gridded so it was simple to cut straight.

i wrote the days and month with a permanent marker.

to make the glass stay inside the frame i glued the edges with E600 glue,

then added a few staples around the edges. worked pretty well!

very easy, and very fun.

i am very happy with it!

I've been intrigued by Mod Podge for a long time. I've had a brand new bottle sitting in the craft cabinet for at least a year, but just haven't had the occasion to break it out.

A few ~~weeks~~ months ago, my sister gave me a 3 deep drawer storage bin thing to use to organize some of my random craft stuff. It sat in the garage for a good while before I ever got around to digging through the pile, literally, of stuff stacked in a corner of my family room. Buried deep in the pile was a wooded letter I bought at Michael's forever ago. I'm not sure what I ever really intended to do with it, so it got filed away in one of the drawers with many other forgot crafty pieces.

Thursday was a very long day at work. Both kids were sick (strep throat...ick), the hubs took the day off work to stay home with them and chaos ensued. Friday is normally an incredibly busy day for us, this week not so much. Surprisingly, people really didn't want us to share the strep germs. I needed a break from working, so I was looking for something to do and I heard the Mod Podge calling my name...

It was a pretty easy project, a little time consuming (drying) and a little messy (cleans up easy with water though). I started by tracing the letter on a sheet of scrapbooking paper (front of the letter to the back of the paper) and using an X-Acto knife to cut it out.

The reason you trace on the back side of the paper is so that you don't end up with any pencil lines on the front. It was easier to rotate the paper through the curves than to try to rotate the knife.

Next I cut strips of the paper the same width as the letter.

Mod Podge looks a lot like Elmer's Glue, so it's not super easy to see how thick you are putting the Mod Podge on, so I try not to put much on my brush at once. So, starting with a little Mod Podge I painted over the edge of the letter and attached the strips I cut for the edge, working carefully to make sure it was straight and without air bubbles. Overlap the strips a little at the end just to make sure you have good coverage, then add a thin layer of Mod Podge on top of the paper. You may want to do one strip at a time and let it dry a little in between.

Once the edges were covered and everything dried, I added a thin layer of Mod Podge over the front of the letter and added the cut out I traced. Same process as above... Mod Podge, paper, more Mod Podge.

I added one more layer of Mod Podge, just to smooth out the surface a little...

I'm really happy with the finished project and I'm pretty sure I'm going to hang it beside my desk so I can look at it every day :-)

A little about me: I originally started my blog to help promote my etsy
shop, but it soon turned into a creative outlet for me! When I was pregnant
with my daughter I just all the sudden became what my mom likes to call me -
suzy homemaker : ) I guess having a girl I wanted to be able to teach
her how to sew and crochet... but first I had to teach myself! Sew I did
just that, and I have truly found a passion for sewing, crocheting,
decorating, and really anything DIY! I hope you will stop by my blog

Today I am going to show you how to make a pintuck pillow. I loved this one
from Anthropologie and had to make it.. and it inspired me to make another
one too!

Here is my version. I used more of a pottery barn color scheme to better fit
my needs. It is made out of a white cotton blend and beige linen. My
pintucking is closer together and a little thicker overall... I like mine
better : ) Shh! Don't tell anyone.

I absolutely love this pillow!! It is a great accent! and I'm a super
big fan of pintucking : )

Here is how I did it.

Supplies

-Coordinating fabrics of your choice. Yardage depends on what size pillow
you are making (you will need the size of your pillow + 1 inch. and then
however much you want for your pintucking accent piece. It takes a bit of
fabric for the pintucking... I just kinda winged it in the measurements.
Assume you will need more cause it does go through the fabric kinda
quickly.

-Sewing machine

-Matching thread

-Scissors

-Pillow insert

-Pins

{Tutorial}

1. Measure your pillow, add one inch (so if your pillow is 18x18, cut 19x19)
So you will need two squares for the front and back of the pillow, set these
aside (I like to do all my cutting first since that is my least favorite
part)

2. cut a pieces of fabric the width of the pillow, and then length depends
on how much pintucking you want to do... I think I used about 19x19 as
well.You might want to add a little extra on your width cause my edges got a
little crooked since I was gathering at random : )

3. First we will begin the pintucking process. Your going to put your fabric
right side down, and fold up little creases and sew them down.

Now, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this style of pintucking is {it
doesn't matter} It does not have to be a straight stitch...it's better if
it's not. It doesn't have to be the same size or lined up perfectly... it's
kinda like cooking dinner and not cleaning up the kitchen afterwards!!!
Oh.Yeah. : )

So Once you are done you should have a piece that looks like
this.

4. Pin it centered on the right side of one of your squares you cut out
earlier. You can either press under the edges or I just took my last "tuck"
and then you sew it right on the front of your fabric!

5. Next just assemble your pillow. Put the right sides of both squares
together (pintucking on the inside) sew three of the edges together, and on
the fourth side sew in a few inches (make sure and backstitch here) from
each corner leaving a gap in the middle, clip the corners, turn right side
out, insert pillow, and the slip stitch the hole closed

You are done! Isn't it beautiful? I hope if you make some you will send me
your pictures! I can't wait to make these in some fun colors!

Supplies Needed:

16" Wire Wreath Form
1 Black Feather Boa (the thicker one, not the skinny guy)
Black Pipe Cleaners
3 mini pumpkins w/ pick attached
ribbon for bow

Ok everyone, as the post was titled this is a mini tutorial (aka... I didn't take pictures as I went along, but I'll tell you how I did it).
First, you will start attaching the boa to the wreath form. Just lay it on top and secure it with the pipe cleaners to the wire in the back . Keep going around until the entire form is covered. Clip off any excess that is hanging down.

Second, attach the pumpkins slightly offset in the lower right portion of the wreath. These pumpkin picks were purchased from Hobby Lobby in the seasonal department. I love the metallic sheen on them and the proportion is perfect for the size of the wreath.

Third, dress it up a little with ribbon that hangs down. I used black tulle, spider web ribbon, and then I curled some sheer glittery black 2 1/2" wide ribbon.

Now you have a simple and elegant wreath! Enjoy!

Guest- Little Bit of Life

Hi there! My name is Holly and I blog over at Little Bit of Life. I am so excited that Kelly is letting me share a fun project with y'all today! We actually did made these shirts a while back and I see them in the laundry almost every week! My kids love them that much! I hope you will also!

Last night Kristen and I headed over to a friends house to make tshirts for a concert we are all going to on Sunday night. By the way, I am super excited about the concert! I didn't bring a camera.....I know....GASP! Another friend who is also going needs to know how we made these so I thought I would share with you all! Now go run and grab a white cotton t shirt, some rubbing alchohol in a spray bottle, some Sharpies, plastic containers and rubber bands! I'll wait........

We had a lot of Sharpies to work with :)

These are just some of the designs I did on my shirt. The big rainbowish circle started out as rings with a small heart in the center. Im telling ya'll this is easy!

We are going to the Winter Jam concert...hence the WJ ;)

Okay so here are the important photos. They somehow got to the bottom of the post. I took a container and stretched the area of the shirt over it with a rubber band and added my design. I then sprayed it with the alchohol. Sharpies react to the alchohol causing the tye dye effect! Viola! The more alchohol the more blurry your drawing will get so if you don't want your words completely blurred spray lightly!

I am going to be doing this project with the other kids tomorrow so I will show ya'll what they came up with then!

As for washing these, I have read several methods online but I am still testing it on scrap t shirts!

Hey there, Friends and Running With Glitter readers! My name is Crystal and I am the author of Homemaker in Heels.

I just ADORE Kelly's fabulous blog and I am absolutely tickled pink to be here today! Thank you so much for having me, Kelly! At Homemaker in Heels, I share the many ways I am turning my house into a home, one crafty decorating project at a time (while wearing the cutest shoes possible ;)). I love finding new ways to create home decor without spending a whole lot of money. My favorite projects are those that I can create for free!
Today I am going to show you how to make your very own Starburst (Sunburst) Mirror using toilet paper rolls and a little dollar store mirror.

Materials Used:
Small Mirror ($1 at the dollar store)
Toilet paper rolls (about 5) and Paper Towel Rolls (2)
Hot Glue Gun
White Spray Paint

First, I flattened my toilet paper roll lengthwise. Then I cut these into approximately 1/2 inch strips (across).
I used my hot glue gun to glue pieces of the toilet paper roll together, see picture below. The process of creating this "frame" around the mirror is pretty self-explanatory.

I used my mirror as a guide, gluing the cardboard pieces together as I went around. Just be sure you don't glue the cardboard to the mirror just yet. That will be your very last step. Continue to glue your cardboard pieces until your starburst frame reaches the size you desire.

After I finished my pattern, I simply applied a couple of coats of white spray paint. Once the paint was dry, I "stretched" the frame to fit around the mirror and used my hot glue gun to to attach it.

To hang my new mirror, I used the tab from a coke can. I just glued it to the back of the mirror!

I hope you like my thrifty new mirror! I am very pleased with the results! And it only cost me $1, ya'll, $1! I want to make one in every color now! :)

I'm a happily married stay-at-home mom with four ~~not so little~~ kids. My husband, Craig, and I are completely remodeling and decorating a home we bought six years ago. Guest-Momma Made it

Hey there! I'm Emilee the Momma at Momma Made It!

I started my blog this past winter as "something to do" and a way to keep track of the things that I make, bake and create. It has become more than a hobby and evolved into my obsession. It drives me to be better, a better baker, a better crafter, even a better Momma! I love creating and seeing what others create! The best part of it is being inspired by other bloggers!

I'm ecstatic to be here today and I'm so excited to share this initial project I made a while back.
I am an impulsive crafter and I tend to make my creations with what I have on hand so for this one I recycled an old box and used some twine to add texture!

I have always been M... I have been called Miss M or Miss Emmy. I was called Em, Emm, and every other variation you can dream up when your name is Emilee...

But this past year I became MRS. M.

Mrs. Marsh!

It was a great day but I certainly didn't have to change my Initials I was still Emilee M...

I have been thinking about making something like this since then, and when I started seeing things like this, and this around the blogging world and I thought OK it's my turn, lets see what I can do with this!

And here is what I came up with...

And here is how I did it...

I made a template of my letter on computer paper, I made a few different ones but I like this one the best and thought that it would be easiest to work with.

I traced it out on the inside of an old box, I made 2 of these and then took the "scraps" and used them to give the letter a bit more bulk, I brushed white glue onto to cardboard and sandwiched the "scraps" between the two cutouts, then I weighted it down with a few of my lunch plates...

Then I started to cover it in twine... (I love the texture and look of it as compared to burlap and the moss was just too much for me...)

I hot glued it down on the front and back so that it would lay flat and stay in line...

I had to cut the twine a few times and start from a new position so that I could cover it without causing bumps and lumps here there and everywhere... (once it was done, I trimmed off the stringy bits and all of the loose ends as well as removing any extra glue that you could plainly see)

and here it is fully covered...

I thought it was a bit too plain but I didn't want to make it too Holiday-ish and have to make one for every other month/holiday.

So I made some ribbon flowers, I just folded the ribbon over and put a dot of hot glue in each fold, then I hot glued a button in the center of each. I picked greys and turquoise colors because, well because I like them, and they feel kind of timeless and don't really have a season. All of that done I came out with something that I think is pretty darn good!

Hi there I'm Carmella from Creative Carmella and I am SO happy to be here!

Running with Glitter has always inspired me so much and I feel so grateful to be here sharing one of my favorite projects today!

I made this Happy Home Wall Art earlier in the year, but now that we are adding baby number three to our family any day now, it has become even more special to me. It's been such a sweet reminder of how much we have been blessed....

This project was so fun to make...and the very best part was that it cost nothing for me to make!

I started with this piece of plywood that I saved....I actually found it under our old washing machine when we replaced it. I may be the only person in the world that could find the inner beauty in this old piece of wood, but I'm pretty glad I saved it!

I gave it a coat of paint with this free sample I got in the mail from Glidden

I didn't cover it completely...I wanted a little of the wood to peek through

After the paint was dry, I got started making a stencil using my Cricut. After I came up with the wording, I used acrylic paint in chocolate brown to paint in the words

And that's all there is to it! Pretty easy, right??

Free Etsy Banner Tutorial using Picnik

Today I'm going to show you how to make an Etsy Shop Banner! It was very simple.. I'm so not a tecky person! I hope that my tutorial is easy to understand.

Alrighty here we go....

Upload any images that you are going to use to Picnik

Now that they are uploaded Open ANY image. {I love this pic of my kiddos} Thats right any image. Your going to cover it up with a sticker :)

Click on the Edit Tab

then the resize tab {make sure you un-click Keep Proportions}

Type in the new dimensions to 760px by 100px (standard Etsy banner sizing)

Click OK

Now your picture is going to look all wonky {fun word right?}

Go to the Create tab

Click on Stickers
(I learned this trick from I Am Mama Hear me Roar... You can see her tutorial here)

Choose Basic shape-rectangle

Stretch the rectangle completely over the whole image

I made mine pink so you could see it better

In the bottom left corner click on Photo Basket. Drag an image that you want to your new header and resize however. You can use photos, clip art or even Picnik stickers. I love all the sticker options!

I want my background to match my deer and bird sticker.. Click on your main rectangle {mine is the pink one}

I clicked on the sticker color then chose the dropper and moved it around on my image until I found the exact color I wanted. click

It is a good Idea to save your banner at this pint before you add text so you don't accidentally move your background stickers around. You will need to re-upload your new image.

Now To add Text

Go back to the Create Tab and choose Text. Add your text to the text Box and click add

Your font will be white and big so grab the side of the box and resize it and choose your text color like you did your sticker color. Choose your font and save!

Now you have a fantastic banner ready to be uploaded seamlessly to Etsy. And now that you know the basics have fun with it!

You can do this basic concept to make your blog banner and all your button images just by resizing to the right demotions and covering with a sticker.

Here is the image for a sidebar button I made...

Oh! and don't forget to give thanks somewhere where you use the images to the source and let them know that you used it!
