The 2018-19 season wrapped up three weeks ago with another Rampage squad failing to make the playoffs. That doesn’t mean our work at RWtH is done, however. We needed to hand out some hardware for the season and talk about what went wrong.

In our season episode of the Running With the Herd Podcast, JP, Topher, and Nate sit down to discuss the final weeks of the season, hand out the prestigious “Herdies” awards, and talk about a couple of things we did like about this otherwise forgettable season.

The crew is going to join the team on the beaches and golf courses for a couple of months, but we will be back in mid-July for our “Mid-Summer Spectacle” episode to break down the draft, free agency, and any other important nuggets.

On tonight’s edition of the Running With the Herd Podcast, Rampage play-by-play announcer Brian McCormack joined the gang to talk about crossing enemy lines, Whataburger vs. In-N-Out, and the G.O.A.T.

Oh, he talked some hockey too, breaking down the Rampage road woes and explaining how the team turned their season around by simplifying their game.

The Rampage begin their annual Rodeo Road Trip with a pair of games in Des Moines this weekend. You can listen to McCormack call all of the action live on Ticket760 and on AHLTV.

In tonight’s edition of the Running With the Herd Podcast, JP, Topher, and Nate discuss the recent success of our favorite hockey team and whether they can keep it going into the new year. We discuss lineup consistency, an improved defensive scheme, and the benefit of excellent goaltending.

We also break down all of the comings and goings on the Rampage roster and discuss Klim Kostin and his interesting week in British Columbia.

The Rampage have an opportunity to make up some ground over the next two weeks with four home games–where they have been scary good lately–against division opponents and two against lowly Manitoba. Lets hope the Rampage have closed the gap on that ever elusive fourth and final playoff spot by the time you hear from us again.

The Rampage decided to give their fans an early Christmas present in the form of a three game winning streak against the top two teams in the Central Division. As a result, the good guys have managed to dig themselves out of the basement (thanks Manitoba) and have an opportunity to make up more ground with four games against the hated Stars over the next two weeks.

JP and Nate discuss the recent success, a result of an improved blue line, adjustments from the coaching staff, and the incredible play of rookie phenom Jordan Kyrou. To wrap up the show, I share some thoughts about perks, auctions, and creepy fans.

After one month, the 3-10 Rampage sit at the bottom of the AHL standings and possess the worst offense in the league, scoring just 2.0 goals per game. So, what exactly is wrong? The talent? The system? The coach? We dive into this puzzling subject on this week’s episode of RWtH “Live”.

The Rampage are in a prime spot to make up for the disastrous start of the season, playing the next 8 games in the state of Texas, including six on home ice. We will return next week to recap the weekend home and home with the Stars and the annual Cool School Kids Day game against Manitoba.

Episode two of the 2018-19 season is in the books. Welcome to the 2018-19 San Antonio Rampage season and the fourth season of the Running With the Herd “Live” Podcast. The rosters are set, the players are prepared. The season officially begins tonight for most teams and on Saturday for our beloved Rampage.

On this episode, JP, Topher, and Nate briefly discuss the irrelevance of preseason hockey, look at how injuries–both in San Antonio and St. Louis–are affecting the team, and look ahead to a week’s worth of games with many familiar faces coming to town.

We are ramping up for another Rampage season here at Running With the Herd. In this week’s preseason edition of the podcast, JP and Nate break down all the ins and outs of roster construction, injuries, and uniform changes heading into the 2018-19 season. It’s been a busy summer for the Rampage and their NHL affiliate St. Louis Blues. New coaches, players, a draft, free agency signings, and a major trade. We take a break from the south Texas heat, to break it all down and discuss all of the happenings and how they relate to our beloved Rampage. Now, if we can just figure out a way to get Topher out of his Alfred Hitchcock nightmare and Nate out of “The Bean” in Chicago (apologies for the audio).

Another season of Rampage hockey has concluded, meaning another season of Running With the Herd Live comes to a close as well. We look back on a pretty frustrating season and an even more frustrating affiliation with the Colorado Avalanche. We hand out our annual season ending awards known as “The Herdies” and we re-visit our preseason predictions to see how wrong we were and come to a realization that maybe this season wasn’t a complete waste.

Summer vacation is quickly approaching. We will return for our annual mid-summer show sometime in July. Until then, keep your internet tuned into runningwiththeherd.com for all Rampage related news. We need a coach, we need some draft picks, and we need some free agents. We will be pretty busy this summer and we will have it all here for your viewing pleasure.
