The SWIMS Armani 2012 Collaboration Galoshes will leave even the most resistant rain boot-sporting man with very few excuses as to why he is not donning a pair of water-repellant kicks.

A front-runner in the arena of anti-aqua shoes, the Norwegian-based company SWIMS took its design aesthetic up a notch with this luxury line-up of rain-braving footwear. The all-black boot features its signature smoking slipper bottom with an added air of sophistication that can come only from the Armani touch.

The shoe is poised to be released as part of Armani’s Autumn 2012 line and is likely to replace those clunky, rubber Hunter boots (that don’t quite scream “sophistication”) in the fashionable male’s wet weather wardrobe.

It's the one question everyone was asking, and we didn't find the answer out until the last second - but we now know the designer of Kate Middleton's wedding dress.

The gown is a design by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen's fashion house.

"Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing," the palace said. " Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterizes Alexander McQueen's work. Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress."

The dress is made of French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace throughout the bodice, skirt and underskirt. The dress, made of ivory and white satin gazar, was designed to emulate an opening flower. The train measures almost nine feet long.

The lace applique for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework. Individual flowers were hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create the dress' design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock. The back of the dress was finished with 58 gazar and organza covered buttons fastened by Rouleau loops.more

The Giorgio Armani Prive Spring 2009 show had a distinctive Asian vibe to it.

From the Pagoda architecture inspiration that was evident in the unusual shoulder designs and hairstyle to the Chinese-themed florals and Geisha lacquer reds, the Asian aesthetics of the whole show were undeniable.

But with the Academy Awards season coming soon, the collection also had Hollywood on its mind, with quite a few of the gowns making a dash for the red carpet consideration.
