I believe that these dogs have about a medium energy requirement. To go for a 1 hour walk during the day will wear them out sufficiently. Walking also helps to build muscle and bone desity.

If you don’t want a mean dog make sure your dog is properly socialized from puppyhood with people, dogs, children and other animals. I also highly recommend going through puppy kindergarten followed by obedience classes. You should also get a CGC from the American Kennel Club, that will go a long way towards helping people have the right attitude about your dog!

Ok, I know I have been asking a lot of questions, so sorry if I am annoying.

But, what is a good food for a border collie? I heard that Blue Buffalo and Taste of the Wild are good foods.

And is it true that you have to feed a puppy 3 times a day until they are older than 6 months?

Blue Buffalo is the only kind of food that my Border Collie actually enjoys.
However, any grain free food should be fine.

I am unsure about the length of time that you do, but yes puppies should be fed 3 times per day to start.

I would love to have a Bearded Collie! But according to Who’s Ya Doggy’s guide they shed “constantly”. … but then again the ones I’ve met didn’t seem that bad, so does it mean they shed “constantly really bad” or “constantly only slightly”?!

They do shed, but they don’t shed like German Shepherd. Their hair has to grow to its genetically predetermined length before it falls out (6+ inches) so each hair is held in its follicle longer than shorthair dogs.

If you are religious with your grooming, all the hair should come out in the brush.
