Spring Cleaning

We made it thru winter finial it was a lone one here in the mid west.

Angela deiced she was tired of the carpet and wanted a wood looking floor.

My son came by and help me lay it. We love it and looks so much nicer than that nasty carpet. Not sure why they put carpet in something that you live in the woods with.

Everybody needs a supervisor and I'm pretty good at that

Notice the old pillow. The floor is hard on the old mans knee’s .

Of course with a new floor the faucet did not match so I had change it also

So of course with a new faucet the step covers did not match so of course I had to change them

Here are some spring pictures of where we are living..

We are trying to get things ready to head to South Dakota the first or second week of June so we can change our domicile.

Still have to get 10 new tires and wash and wax the rig and truck

The plan is for me to retire in September and head to Amazon then Arizona for the winter.

BAPTISING AN IRISHMAN

An Irish man is stumbling through the woods, totally drunk, when he comes upon a preacher baptizing people in the river. The drunk proceeds into the water, subsequently bumping into the preacher.
The preacher turns around and is almost overcome by the smell of alcohol, whereupon, he asks the drunk, "Are you ready to find Jesus?"
The drunk shouts, "Yes, oi am."
So the preacher grabs him and dunks him in the water. He pulls him back and asks, "Brother, have you found Jesus?"
The drunk replies, "No, oi haven't found Jesus!"
The preacher, shocked at the answer, dunks him again but for a little longer. He again pulls him out of the water and asks, "Have you found Jesus, me brother?"
The drunk answers, "No, oi haven't found Jesus!"
By this time, the preacher is at his wits end and dunks the drunk again -- but this time holds him down for about 30 seconds, and when he begins kicking his arms and legs about, he pulls him up.
The preacher again asks the drunk, "For the love of God, have you found Jesus?"

The drunk staggers upright, wipes his eyes, coughs up a bit of water, catches his breath, and says to the preacher,***

We Play Food Critic

The spring on the screen door handle quit springing so Saturday we headed down south of us in Platte City to Kansas City,KS to a RV supply business to get the parts.

Every time we go there we pass a BBQ place that always had a line waiting outside. We all ways say to each other we need to stop sometime and check it out. And Saturday was that day. We thought we would play food critic.

This is the back of the pit as you walk up.

And this would be the front of the pit and some of the dinning area.

And this is our order. Looks good right?

Well not so fast there. As you may know we are in the capital of the best BBQ in the country. The place has pictures of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that had been there as we stood in line and we thought boy o boy this is going to be good stuff. WRONG!!!! the beans tasted like can pork-n-beans with ketchup.. The potato's had no taste the cup they came in tasted better. And now for the ribs no taste and tuff. The jalapenos were the best thing. Guy Fieri must have left his taste buds at home that day. That meal with two beers $28.95.

And yes the spring on the handle is spring again and spring has sprung outside. Life is good

We Got The Phone Call

Friday after noon we were sitting around enjoying the nice warm sunshine. The phone rang and Angela answered it. It was Mike from Amazon HR in Coffeyville, KS.

He gave us a phone interview and when he was done he offered us a job for next fall. We plan on starting in October and working tell late December . Then head for Arizona for the winter

It will be great to get this dog and pony show on the road.

PRICELESS!!!!

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day, Kate, my wife and I went into town and visited a shop.
When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. We went up to him and I said, 'Come on, man, how about giving a
senior citizen a break?' He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.

I called him an "@#&hole". He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires.
So Kate called him a "s@#% head". He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he started writing more tickets. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.
Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home.

We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.

Thursday I was wishing I had not posted that Wednesday Funny two weeks ago.

Because we are paying for it now, it snowed about 11 inch’s Thursday from about 9am to about 2pm and more coming..yuk

We keep telling our self's that this is our last winter here in the snow belt. If we can just make it till spring we got it made

We had a great winter last year while we were still in the stick and brick and we moved into the 5th wheel last April and we knew we had to live thru the winter before I could retire and said no problem we have that global warming thing going on and we will be fine.. Right!!!

By the time we leave here next fall for Amazon we will be on the way to be seasoned full timers.

Now for all of you with a phobia of snow stop reading here….

Saturday was my 61st birthday no big deal just glad to be here to have it..

This was my birthday cake I shared some with the neighbor while playing with the Wii game.

Saturday morning Angela made me a special birthday breakfast and boy it sure was good.

Now we are going to concentrate on my retirement in September. We are in contact with Amazon and thinking we will work from October to December then take that money and head for the desert for the winter.

We want to see the Q ( the wood stock for old people) at least once.

Oleasked Lena if she vould valk across da frozen lake to da yeneral store to get him some beer. She asked him for some money but he told her, “Nah, yust put it on our tab.”

So Lena valked across, got the beer at da yeneral store, den valked back home across da lake. Ven she got home and gave Ole his beer, she asked him, “Ole, you alvays tell me not to run up da tab at dastore. Why didn’t you yust give me some money?”

Olereplied, “Vell, I didn’t vant to send you out dere vit some money ven I vasn’t sure how tick the ice vas yet.”

Wii Is That French?

We have had the coldest temps of the winter this week we are talking like o to 4 deg a few nights.

We are having 5th wheel fever real bad. So with my birthday coming next Saturday Angela decided to give me my birthday present early.

It is a Wii game and now we have something to do and get a little exercise at the same time.

Hey not a bad score for my first time playing. We play till late Friday night (10ish) having a few beers just like at the bowling alley.

When I got up Saturday my arm and shoulder were a little sore I must have gotten a little work out from the Wii or drinking beer..

Saturday was the grandkids birthday party they turn 11 on Feb 4th. They went to play laser tag with some friends.

I told them since they are getting older they need to take turns having birthdays like trading every other year she can have one year and he can have the next year.. they didn’t like my idea.

That’s it from the frozen Midwest . Time to get my bowling shoe’s on or maybe it will be tennis today.

New Sign For Our Front Door

Angela and I have not done much this week except trying to stay warm.

Friday was our exciting day.We got up and showered and dressed and then off to town for supplies .

When we returned Angela turn on the hot water side of the faucet and nothing came out,she turned on the cold side and all was well lots of cold water.

I started checking things out to see what the problem was and found nothing.

I finely thru in the towel and was giving up. I called a Mobil rv service repair company. I was telling the guy the problem I was having and he says oh you have a broken check valve on the water heater.

A what? As the light came on in my dark little hole on my shoulder a check valve I never thought about that. The guy said it was so late in the day that if I could wait till Monday it would cost $150.00 or if I wanted it done over the weekend it would be $300.

Saturday morning I was up and off to the rv parts store and purchased a check valve for $9.00 and in 5 min we had hot water.

The next surprise I got this week was I received my first paycheck for the new year and it was about $30.00 light thanks to the new tax laws.

Thanks to the new tax laws and the price increase in everything, we ordered a new sign for our front door……
