Still Here (Boring)

We are still here and still getting the house painted and ready for

sale. (Boring) We are down to about a week from being done with

the inside painting (Boring) Angela has started to go thru some

pictures and getting rid of things she doesn’t want…(Boring)

The weather is getting nicer and spring is in the air…(Boring)

We are in the stage of getting rid of things in one pile and putting

things in another pile for a garage sale. (Boring)

I would tell you what we had for dinner last night but that would be? (Boring)

This is something I found and think it says it all. We have two

rescue mutts in our family right now plus a bird..

It's just hit me !!

My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.

He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants.

His meals are provided at no cost to him.

He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise.

For this he pays nothing, and nothing is required of him.

He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than he needs, but he is not required to do any upkeep.

If he makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.

He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep.

He receives these accommodations absolutely free.

He is living like a King, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.

All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.

I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head.......

I think my dog is a member of Congress!

Sick Leave

I urgently needed a few days off work, but,
I knew the Boss would not allow me to take leave.
I thought that maybe if I acted 'Crazy' then
he would tell me to take a few days off.
So I hung upside-down on the ceiling and made funny noises.
My co-worker (who's blonde) asked me what I was doing.
I told her that I was pretending to be a light bulb
so that the Boss might think I was 'Crazy' and give me a few days off.
A few minutes later the Boss came into the office
and asked, 'What in the name of goodness are you doing?'
I told him I was a light bulb.
He said, 'You are clearly stressed out.'
Go home and recuperate for a couple of days.'
I jumped down and walked out of the office...
When my co-worker (the blonde) followed me,
the Boss asked her, '..And where do you think you're going?!'

She said, 'I'm going home, too. "I can't work in the dark".

Thursday was you guessed it my birthday and another good guess I turned the big 60.

When I got to work I found these on my desk. As people started arriving to work I started to notice everyone was wearing black,since we work for a church I asked if we were having a funeral and several just laughed and said kind of of,I then realized it was me they were mourning for.

Then my coworkers handed me this shirt and said I had to wear it all day. When I saw the picture I knew Angela had something to do with it. And yes that is me in 1977. Ok stop laughing now!!

I see your still laughing I bet there are pictures in your closet you hope no one see’s.

We all had pizza and cake for lunch. The cake had a picture of Annie our lab when she was a puppy and of course she was wearing black also.

We have a school at the church and these are some of the teachers (My Groupies) advertising that Kenny was 60.

I did get a few gifts from Angela for the 5th wheel.

My Favorite Animal

Our teacher asked what my favorite animal was, and I said, "Fried chicken."
She said I wasn't funny, but she couldn't have been right, because everyone else laughed.My parents told me to always tell the truth. I did. Fried chicken is my favorite animal.I told my dad what happened, and he said my teacher was probably a member of PETA.
He said they love animals very much. I do, too. Especially chicken, pork and beef. Anyway, my teacher sent me to the principal's office.
I told him what happened, and he laughed, too. Then he told me not to do it again.
The next day in class my teacher asked me what my favorite live animal was.
I told her it was chicken. She asked me why, so I told her it was because you could make them into fried chicken.
She sent me back to the principal's office. He laughed, and told me not to do it again.
I don't understand. My parents taught me to be honest, but my teacher doesn't like it when I am.
Today, my teacher asked us to tell her what famous person we admire most.I told her - "Colonel Sanders."

Took my dad to the mall the other day to buy some new shoes (he is 66).

We decided to grab a bite at the food court.

I noticed he was watching a teenager sitting next to him.

The teenager had spiked hair in all different colors - green, red,

orange, and blue.

Every time the teenager would look up, she would find my dad staring every time.

When she had finally had enough, she sarcastically asked:

"What's the matter old man, never done anything wild in your life?"

Knowing my Dad, I quickly swallowed my food so that I would not

choke on his response; I knew he would have a good one!

Boy these slow weeks around here are getting costly.

Even thought the weather has not been to bad this winter, seems like all we have gotten done is spend money on the fifth wheel. And we are not done yet!!

The 5er didn't have a dinning table when we bought it, so a trip to Nebraska Furniture Mart to find one. And this is what we (she) came up with.

Then we needed a table to fit between the lazy boys. I found this at Camping World.

It will come in handy for guest as a coffee table.

Even though the finish color is not the same on them it will work for us.

We are starting to get things ready and put them on Craigslist. So many things to do to change our lifestyle.

My home was broken into last night by two robbers who locked me in the bathroom then proceeded to round up all they could carry.

My watchdog ‘Killer’ did not alert me at all. For this reason
I am giving him away. I no longer want this dog.
I’ve decided to install an electric fence and detection devices with alarms.

They're cheaper to maintain and definitely more reliable.
‘Killer’ is fun to hang out with, but otherwise pretty useless.

It’s been another quite week here in the Midwest. The weather has been so nice for our January we had a few cold days with a light snow and then it warms back up right now as I write this it’s 58 deg. I just hope spring does not come in June and snow in April or May.

Angela and I did take in a movie on Friday we saw Adventure of Tin Tin 3D. It was a good movie,we love the 3D movies they looks so real.

We can’t hardly wait to get the house sold and out of it. I have been reading so many blogs and web site’s on different things people have bought for there rigs like internet and cell booster’s,satellite TV dish to this and that there are so many thing I want to get before we leave I’m not sure where to start or where to stop.

I start thinking we are going to leave here debt free but broke. I know if we don’t win the lottery we will have to workamp here and there to make it. That’s ok at least it will be on our schedule and place we want to be.

Why Parents Drink

A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an
Envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to 'Dad.'
With the worst premonition he opened the envelope

With trembling hands and read the letter.

Dear Dad:
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you.
I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice.
But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it' s not only the passion...Dad she's pregnant.
Stacy said that we will be very happy.
She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone.
We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.
In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so

Stacy can get better. She deserves it.
Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself.

Getting Ready To Fulltime

The weather here this week has been in the 50’s and 60’s not to bad for January here in the Midwest.

Didn’t get much done around the house like the painting and things but spent as much time outside as we could.

Saturday I bought a shelf to try and organize the front basement of the 5th wheel, there is just to much wasted space trying to pile things on top of each other.

We have started loading the things we are going to need.

I found this RV parts distributing company that has a local warehouse here in KC. I sent in a request for a catalog on Monday and received it Thursday from UPS. The catalog has about 300 pages and they seem to have pretty good prices.

If My Body Was a Car!

This is just too funny - scary how true it is!!!

If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull...

But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it,

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter,

either my radiator leaks or My Exhaust Backfires!

New Year’s Wishes

This has been quite a year for Angela and I. First we bought the Tioga motor home thinking we needed something cheap to camp in till we got closer and found a rig that we would like to live fulltime in.

Then my mom passed away in July and in October Lady Bug our oldest dog passed.

At the end of October the highlight of our year was when we found the 5th wheel and truck we were looking for in Phoenix,AZ and I flew down and drove it home.

At that time we moved up our plan to get the house ready to sell this spring and see where that puts us and at least move into the 5th wheel.

We want to thank everyone that reads and follows this blog. We hope that everyone has a Healthy and Happy New Year..

It’s Christmas day and when you work for a church it’s a work day,so that’s where I’m headed this morning.

Angela and I don’t usually get anything for each other unless it’s something for our dream. Well I guess you can say this is for our dream. Angela likes to read a lot and I mean A LOT she can read a book a week or faster.

So when we hit the road I thought getting her the Kindle Fire would be the only book we would have to lug around. She can also get her e-mail,face book and movies on it.

This after noon we will head over to the daughter’s and grandkids house for the Christmas dinner.

The temps are going to be hitting around 50 and sunny today so it will be a great day.

Angela and I and the two hounds want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy RVing New Years!!!!!

Our Week In The Hood

Another slow week here in the hood.

Angela did get some painting done but needed to take a break. We have had good weather for this time of year but I’m sure the bottom will fall out of it soon. Last Christmas we had a blizzard going on.

Yesterday we needed to take the Dodge diesel out for a drive since it has just been sitting. Took a drive up I-29 to Platte city, MO about 10 miles north of our house. We wanted to check out the RV park we will move to when we sell the house.

We stopped at Basswood Resort RV park http://www.basswoodresort.com/

We wanted to ask about the extended stay rates which is not to bad for $425 per month and comes with cable. Talking to the manger we were wondering about Angela workamping while I still worked at the church and she said yes they hire about 15 couples and she could some hours for the spot and the rest for pay. That would be great that way she can learn all about the different jobs in a campground. The manager and her husband have been fulltime for 6 years and love it.

Also yesterday I was at my local COSTCO buying a large bag of
Purina dog chow for my loyal pet, Annie, the Wonder Dog and was
in the check-out line when a woman behind me asked if I had a
dog.
What did she think I had an elephant? So because
I'm retired and have little to do, on impulse I told her
that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet
again. I added that I probably shouldn't, because I ended up in
the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I
awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most
of my orifices and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was
essentially a Perfect Diet and that the way that it works is, to
load your pants pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or
two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete
so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to
mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled
with my story.)
Horrified, she asked if I ended up in
intensive care, because the dog food poisoned me. I told her
No, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's ass and a car hit
me.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart
attack he was Laughing so hard.
Costco won't let me shop
there anymore.

MORAL OF THE STORY:
Better watch what you ask retired people. They have all the time
in the World to think of crazy things to say.

Not much to report,another slow week here in the hood. We did get some more painting done around the house.

Saturday the weather was nice so we unloaded all the stuff from the motor home and started putting things in the 5th wheel.

You can never start to soon getting ready,the time will be here before we know it.

Dead Penguins , I never knew this!

Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica – ???
Where do they go?

Wonder no more ! ! !
It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life.
The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life. If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes
In the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried.

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:

"Freeze a jolly good fellow"
"Freeze a jolly good fellow."

Then they kick him in the ice hole.

You really didn't believe that I know anything about penguins, did you?
It's so easy to fool OLD people.
