I can't believe it's already that time of year again. This year has presented me with so many new opportunities and gifts (no pun intended) that I'm finding myself in a state of absolute gratitude. I think that this is the first year where I am absolutely content with spending time with people that I care about. Maybe that means that the child-like notion of "giftmas" has begun to leave me. With the changes that are on the horizon for me I am just finding myself in a comfortable place and am not plagued by any existential crises that once consumed me. I am proud of where I am in life and beyond excited for my future. I have to thank you all for continuing to support me and motivate me. I know I say this a lot, but I wouldn't be here without all of your constant support and inspiration!<br /> <br /> Today I'm showcasing my Christmas look. All of the pieces can be found at H&amp;M (my favorite store). I wanted a classic look with some quirkiness so I chose a burgundy/maroon blazer and paired it with a white button-down that has black buttons and interesting detail in the collar. I decided to leave the shirt untucked because I think it added a casual yet stylish element to the overall look. I also chose to not wear a tie or bowtie because I've recently been in love with the idea of men's shirts being buttoned to the neck yet without any neck wear. I've finally signed my lease for my apartment in NYC and I'll be moving in on December 31st! I never thought that I would be saying I'm going to Parsons and living in NYC, but here I am. For years I doubted my talents and abilities and let anxiety dictate what roads I took in life. Sadly, those roads led me nowhere but to disappointment because I knew that my purpose on earth was greater than the life I was living. It wasn't until I took control of my life and my fears that I was able to actually grow and find myself. I'm so thankful for everyone who has supported me along the way (especially all of you!) because without the support and encouragement I don't think I'd have been able to get to where I am now.<br /> <br /> I will be sure to update this blog with all of what I'm learning while in school as well as all of my experiences while living in the city. I'm going to be applying to schools for Fashion Design! Fashion has always been a part of my life and as you can tell through my photography, I've always had an interest in the fashion world. One of the creative assignments for one of my applications was to make a collage that showcased the types of people I'd like to design clothes for. I'm inspired by street fashion, nightlife, rebels, and color. I like to mix color with over-sized jackets and hoods. Sort of imagine a dystopian world where there is an underground group of ravers who are keeping color and life alive through music. That is my inspiration for fashion. I also would like to design for men. Not just men who would normally be interested in fashion, but all men. I think men tend to shy away form fashion because they think it's too much work. I would like to make street fashion that is accessible to all men and that doesn't lose any of its masculinity. Here is the collage that I came up with. I had a wonderful time and I have tons of photos to share of all the beauty that I witnessed. But first I have a fun little shoot to share that I did recently. The theme is "post-apocalypse child's play" I envisioned the end of the world where only one child survived. In her youth she explores what is left and engages in an abandoned planet while reflecting on life from the perspective of a youth.
