Apple keeps growing and growing. The company crossed the $500 per share mark for the first time today. Analysts are targeting the share price anywhere from $550 to $650 this year. If the upcoming iPad 3 and iPhone 5 live up to the hype, the share price could easily hit that and beyond. And let’s not forget the company also makes computers.

On tap for a refresh this year are the MacBook Pro line. Rumors are the MacBook Pro line will look more like the best-selling MacBook Air, forgoing the DVD drive and legacy ports, sticking with Thunderbolt and USB while possible adding a Retina-style display with massive resolution and standard SSD drives.

The MacPro hasn’t seen an upgrade in two years. Rumors have been light other than waiting for Intel to deliver its new chips in a large enough quantity for production, and possible killing off the MacPro model entirely. It wouldn’t surprise me if they killed it off.

The iMac could see a refresh this year. Slimmed down, Retina display, no DVD, standard SSD drives. As it stands now the current 27″ iMac with the Core i7 processor is faster than the current MacPro Intel Xeon.

Analysts are anticipating Apple paying a dividend this year since it is holding so much cash. I don’t think they’re going to do that. It’s not something Steve Jobs liked to do. They can make acquisitions, increase R&D, and continue to focus on making amazing products. A dividend suggests the post-Jobs management team doesn’t know what to do with their cash. My instinct tells me otherwise.

It’s going to be an exciting year for Apple.

It was going to be announced sooner or later. A March announcement and ship date seems likely given past history. That said, I’m clamoring for a Retina Display iPad. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

Michelle Obama wants the military to eat healthier. She would dare advocate a low-carb, primal diet would she? Of course not. She’s promoting the same, dangerous, unhealthy FDA food pyramid that done much to cause the obesity crisis plaguing America.

The American Medical Association Journal of Ethics has an article positing mandatory participation in clinical vaccine trials. Volunteers for these trials have declined substantially over the years. The article states low compensation as a primary reason, leaving students and the unemployed as the primary guinea pigs. So what is they answer to increase participation in vaccines and medicines that may or may not work, or have severe side effects? Mandatory volunteers! The authors have the gall to compare compulsory participation in medical experiments to jury duty. Look, I’m 100% against compulsory jury duty and I do whatever I can to avoid it, but comparing sitting in a jury box for a week or two to getting a shot or taking a pill and not know what the hell will happen to you is absurd. Yet, this article is published in a prestigious medical journal.

Look for this to creep in as an amendment to ObamaCare, lobbied heavily by Big Pharma and the neo-Nazi, nanny, busybody health bureaucrats.
