We discovered that they had built a new massive jump, a 9ft high take off, 15ft high landing, and a 45ft gap from the takeoff to landing.
When we visited last time the weather was not up to scratch adn we were unable to get the speed to do the jump, so no attempts were made.
However myself and Fellow team mate, James sleigh were determined to Return to conquor the beast.

When we arrived we noticed that the landing and run in and suffered quite a lot of Rain damage, so after several hours raking, and shoveling the jump was preped and ready to go. The conditions at this point of time were absolutely perfect... no wind.. no clouds, and perfectly dry ground

It was time to hit the beast.

Cyprus Airways Inflight Magazine

If you happen to be travelling with Cyprus Airways, be sure to check out the SunJet InFlight Magazine.
Featured on the cover of the magazine is one of my Mountainboarding buddys Dylan Warren. The drive into Val D'sir was probably the most scenic drive of my life. The very windey mountain pass roads, beautiful Mountains, patches of snow beside the road (depsite the fact that it is summer and around 25 degrees).

The team was lucky enough to stay in an appartment right in the center of the town centre offering us a great base to go out and explore what was rideable within this area. Not a cloud in the sky, and even at 5am the temperature was around 17 degrees ro so. On the way back from the airport i picked up Sam Nicholas, one of my fellow trampa team riders.

We were headed for Hales SuperBole, a mountainboarding park up near Chester. Superbole were hosting the 'season opener' A competition to mark the start of the mountainboarding season over this side of the world. On the cards for the weekend was a slopestyle comp, Saturday night Jib session under floodlights, and the big air on the Sunday.

Unfortunately i managed to sprain my wrist on my 10th run of the day so decided to pull out of competition, Just to be on the safe side. However Sam managed to go on and represent by winning the big air with some hugh Tweaked out FS rodeo's.

Heres some pics:

Yours truely with a backflip on the slopestyle:

Me with the Van:

How to waste 2 days of your life.

Yesterday, it was back over to the UK for another summer of mountainboarding goodness. I set off from Ballarat at around 9:30am and arrived at Melbourne international airport at 11, ready for my 1:55 flight.
After some fairwells i was off on my 5 month journey.
The flight was a 24hr total flight, with a 3 hour stopover in bangkok. Finally, on arrival to london, i was kept in london passport Control, and threatened to be sent back home for 8 hours! The theory behind this was that if i was comming over, with the purpose of mountainboarding, i should have acquired a sports visa.
In the end i was finally given the all clear to proceed through to the UK where ted from Trampa was waiting for me to take me up to Nottinghsam, where i will be staying.

Roof Drop

A short video of a roof drop i noticed beside the Monash freeway in Melbourne. The Roof belongs to the clubhouse of a baseball team around the Kooyong area. Not a huge drop, but the roofs surface was difficult to ride because there were deep grooves cut in that weren't quite wide enough for my wheels, these grooves were constantly moving my board a few inches left to right all the way down the roof. Once on the run-in to the drop i had already committed so i aimed straight and hoped for the best.... turned out well.

Outer Edge Magazine Article

This article was published in the March edition of Outer Edge Magazine.

The article, written by Melissa Reynolds, Discusses the worldwide mountain-boarding scene. The gap is around 12 meters long with a 2.5 meter step down. Even worse, nobody else had ever tried it, so getting the speed right, creating the right kind of take off ramp, and loads of other variables would mean the difference between landing clean and claiming, or blowing out both of your knees.

Heres a few sneak preview pictures:

MORE PICTURES COMMING AND ALSO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE VIDEO!!

maybe you could bookmark this page, subscribe to the RSS feed(if you use a feedreader) or became a blog fan.

Eyeplay Helmet cams

Caught up with the fellas from Eyeplay, a company which Import helmet cams. we did a bit of video shoot at Mt. Riders had travelled from around Angland, Japan, USA, Ireland, Czech republic, Syberia, France, Belgium, Switzerland and myself from Australia.

It wasnt just the rider which made this a true world class event, but the Track features were like no other i had ridden before. The main riding line consisted of a 25ft long snowboard style stepdown, after landing this travelling at mach 10, a quick speed check was required and it was on to the 30ft tabletop with a very steep lip. After riding out of this it was required to get down low and hold as much speed as possible before the next jump, a 40ft long step up jump where the landing was around 8ft higher then the 6ft high take off. Aswell as these features, there were rails, hips and a beasty 12ft drop off.

This set the platform to be the best competition of all time. Many of the expected 1500 spectators began to arrive at 1:00 in the afternoon ready to watch qualifications at 4pm followed by finals under lights at 9pm

By the time of the first qualification run, riders were all at the top and amped to ride. Many riders chose to try and throw down straight away, while others like myself were more conservative to make sure to get clean runs early on in the comp.

Unfortunately after the first 2 qual. runs the rain had arrived, so out came the covers for the jumps(just like in the cricket or tennis).

After and hour under covor, the rain had stopped and it was time for the 3rd and final qualification run. Towards the end of the 60 competitors the rain had joined us again. This time the rain was heavier, and didnt end for several hours forcing the organisers to take results from the qualification jumps.

In the end it was Renny Miles who places first, Pavel Pasha from syberia in 2nd and ben tweedie in 3rd. I ended up placing 11th which i was stoaked on. Riders were then able to relax and enjoy the free jagermeister(one of the event sponsors)

24hrs in Antworp, Belgium

Today i got invited to go with team Trampa to go and Visit Antworp, Home of World freestyle Champion Arno VDV. I was unsure weather to stay at Wanyi or travel for 3hrs to see another part of Belgium. I flipped a coin and was soon in the back of the pimpin black Mercedes vito van headed for Antworp.

We arrived in antworp and spent and hour chillin at arno's place in town. We then met up with his girlfriend and a few of her friends for lunch at a sweet cafe'/ The food was quality and very cheap aswell. We then headed in to On Love Boardshop(one of arno's sponsors) to collect some prizes for the comp on the weekend, as well as to check out all the sweet gear they sold. I'm sure i could of spent 1000euro in here but settled to spend 30 on a t-shirt.

Arno and friends were then kind enough to show us around Antworp, where myself and the english riders sore some amazing cathedrals, the river running through the city and some really unique street art.

After experiencng the cool vibe of the city we had changed our plans and decided to hit the town at night. By this time it was 5 in the afternoon so we headed to our first of many bars for the night. All the places we visted played some cool downtempo lounge or hip hop music and the atmosphere was great. At about 4 in the morning we went back to arno's, grabbed his spray cans and headed out to the streets to do some graffiti on some legal graffiti walls near by. As we were finishing our art pieces the sun was comming up and it was time for us to say goodbye to antworp and drive back to wanyi park.

It was definately a good thing the coin flip sent me to antworp.
