<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Okay, <a href="http://RyanSteinolfson.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ryan Steinolfson</a> and Skip Foster here with <a href="http://botsforprofits.com"><strong>botsforprofits.com</strong></a>, a</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">nd we're gonna show you really quickly how to do three things. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of the biggest questions that I have, is how do I start setting up automation quickly and easily, so that when somebody does message me I have a quick response to actually start the conversation, without having to set up many chat? Then how do I just quickly and easily do that? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Number two is, how do I set up Facebook messenger on my page so that, people can actually send me a message right from my page? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So we're gonna show you how to do that. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And then thirdly, and probably most importantly, is how do you actually set it up so that people can discover your bot when they're actually searching for your business, practice or whatever it is that you do. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you're a dentist or a doctor, this functionality, is coming out very soon, and it's something that not many people are talking about right now. But it's really really powerful. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So, what do you think Skip? Sound good?<br />
Yeah Definitely. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So looking at my screen, here is my page. First I'm gonna show you the send message button. This is a very quick and easy way for people to engage with your page. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Turning on the &#8216;send message' button is the most powerful button to use. I'm gonna show you how to do that in just a second. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The reason this is so powerful is because you can start a conversation with people directly. Turning this on allows people to privately contact your page, by showing this message button. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Go to your page settings , at the top of your page , when in your admin section of your page. Tap on the little section, that says allow people to contact my page. Click on save changes, and then that'll at least allow that button to be an option for you to choose from. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now if this send message button is not visible for you. Then you've got to go to get in touch,  then go to send message, and then choose that. That's the that's the send message button. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That's how to get the message button to show up, click save changes. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But we want to also do one more thing. We want to make it so that there's an instant reply when somebody &#8221;opts in&#8221; &#8211; to send you a message.  What's gonna happen is if somebody's gonna click on that button and it's gonna ask them, do you want to get started?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There will be a little button there for somebody to click on, get started, and when they do &#8211; that's whats, that's the beginning.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> That's the opt-in process of people being able to message you. And you want to be able to respond to somebody when they click on or tap on, get started. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is how you turn on the response, just toggle to turn on instant replies. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you are gonna use ManyChat, or Chat Fuel, or Bit Bot, any of the tools that that creates automation for you, that's gonna run instead of this Facebook automation. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is Facebook's version of automation.<br />
This is a very simplified watered-down automation.<br />
There's no automation beyond that initial instant reply, as that's all you can do in Facebook.<br />
Just one 250 character initial reply. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You can add all kinds of personalization, like person's name, last name, full name. You can actually put your website URL in here etc. so you can see, it just uses those those fields.  Then you can type as many characters as you want up to 250. Then simply click the save changes, in order to for you to create the instant reply. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So you could put something there like, </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hey, Ryan here (make it personalized &#8211; put the person's name there in the beginning), and then say something like: &#8216;Hey, you know what, I'm gonna get back to you.&#8221; I typically respond to my messages within within the hour, or within minutes, however long you typically take &#8211; let them know that. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Let them know that you're going to respond to them,  to try and make them stay on as long as you can possibly can. Because the value and the secret of messenger is, you engaging with people! You interjecting yourself in this conversation, as quickly as possible. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But you can greet them and then let them know that in the meantime, you are gonna get the information then respond to them. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Obviously if you had messenger, or manychat, setup or chat bot or bit bot or chat fuel, then you would say;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Hey, tap on one of the links below, so that you can start working with my bot and getting answers to your questions while you're waiting. But you would also want to say something like that in this message as well. This lets people know that you're gonna respond, and that they're gonna engage with your bot, and to leave information so that you can help them as best you can when you get back. B</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">e sure to let them know that you're gonna be back. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I'm gonna turn on instant replies off. I'm gonna turn this off for me because I'm using chat fuel or manychat. Click save changes and then you've updated your send message button. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I'm gonna show you the secret sauce here. This is really the secret sauce, because truly not many people are talking about this.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> And this is something that is so so powerful, if you go to the settings of your page, and then you go into the messages section, messenger platform tab on the left. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This is what I really want you to see &#8211; how powerful messenger is! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;"> I'm getting this conversation from somebody that's in my messenger broadcast. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">They receive my broadcast this morning, and  Steve is now communicating with me. It's just so powerful. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I get those all day long, whereas before I didn't have that kind of engagement. I didn't have that ability to be able to create that kind of engagement with people. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So here's in the message platform, scroll down &#8211; I'm using bit bots and manychat here. </span></p>
<p>I want you to go to the discover settings. See what it says right here : &#8221;Discover is a new section in messenger, where people can browse and find BOTS, nearby places and businesses, to message.&#8221;</p>
<p>Page admins who have a bot can complete this form, and choose the categories where it appears, customize how it is described in search results, and decide which languages it wants to support. That's pretty much it.</p>
<p>I mean I could literally like say it differently, but we just read it right from the horse's mouth right there.</p>
<p>Put in your category, put in your keywords, put in your your name here, summary. (You can actually make the summary much longer), and then you want to have your discover visibility on. You don't want to hide it! So put it on show, and then submit it.</p>
<p>The process then takes about 24 to 48 hours for it to get approved.</p>
<p>I actually had somebody from Facebook go into my bot. How do I know that? Because I saw this dude jump into my bot, and it said he works at Facebook. He just kicked the tyres around. He jumped in made sure it was compliant, and then he jumped out, and the next day was I was approved.</p>
<p>So they actually do go in and they test, they kick the tyres and they they see what you got. So don't put anything that's objectionable. But but that's how you make it so that your bot is discoverable.</p>
<p>Where is it going to be discoverable? Let me show you really quick, and then we'll wrap this up. If you go to messenger and go to the search bar, this is where your bot is gonna be discoverable. Look at that, there's all your Bots. There's all the bots right there.</p>
<p>In the future, you're gonna see bots show up here that are local to you, that are attorneys if that's what you're searching for. I hope that makes sense? <p>The only thing I was thinking of is, if you don't do this &#8211; the default is nothing. Because when you do look at your group page, which I was just looking at. One of my pages that I've not done this with yet, and it just says add a button. So you you have to take control of this process, it's not something that happens automatically. But man what a powerful thing.</p>
<p>It's just the same as, people using the intercom nowadays. I mean, I even went on, I had a support ticket with Facebook the other day. And what did they use for their support system? Messenger. Wow, I really prefer it.</p>
<p>You've seen me having all these conversations, where I'm actually showing case studies. But more importantly, how do you use messenger to really create engagement. And you and I, as certified partners of Infusionsoft, which is sales and marketing automation to the Nth degree. We can talk about sales and marketing automation, and the pains that we've experienced in going through the training and the certification to implement &#8211; you know what, even intercom is challenging. But you know, let alone Infusionsoft!</p>
<p>This is a much more simplified way, that allows everybody to start getting results really quick with sales and marketing automation. That's something everybody has to learn, because everybody can used it.</p>
<p>Exactly. Everybody's used it, whether they know it or not they're using Messenger already.</p>
<p>There's 1.2 almost 1.3 billion people actually using messenger already, on a daily, weekly, monthly basis! So that's really really powerful, people are already using this platform. Really, we're just getting everybody that we possibly can, from our email system, or email list to jump into messenger. Because of it's ease of use!</p>
<p>So we're having a multi channel conversation Ezra Firestone talks about, with you know email, messenger, text messaging. But we're finding more and more people really like the messenger platform, because it's so rapid-fire. So easy to create content for. And like Skip said, you've got to take action to make this happen.</p>

<p>One of the biggest problems with Facebook Messenger marketing is getting people to engage with you (Message you back).  What happens is that a subscriber to Messenger will just not respond to you in Messenger. If the previous happens then you might as well not even have the person in your Messenger.</p>
<p>The best way to get people to engage (to make it easier to follow up) is to leverage the saved Messages feature on Messenger.  By leveraging saved Messages you make it very easy for anybody on your team to send consistent Messages to your subscribers. When you and your team start sending consistent (the same) Messages you are able to identify what Messages work and which ones don’t.  Eventually, you will have a &#8220;recipe&#8221; for the most effective saved Message and sequence of those Messages based on objective outcomes.</p>
<p>To set up saved Messages, select the saved messages button at the bottom of the screen and select a title and enter the Message. You can also add a picture to the Message from your camera roll, take a picture with your phone, and add a customized field.</p>
<p>Some really great saved Messages to create are:<br />
-Requesting that the person leave a review<br />
-Sending a lead magnet with picture or link to the lead magnet so you can leverage the “<a href="https://ryansteinolfson.com/using-facebook-live-for-business/">Conversation Funnel Strategy</a>”<br />
-Set up a sequence of saved Messages that leads somebody to the lead magnet<br />
-Ask for the subscriber to identify what content they want to receive from you.  I send this one right in the beginning so I only broadcast the type of content they want to receive based on the tag.<br />
-A sequence of saved Messages that takes somebody from the “lead magnet” to the “trip wire”</p>
<p>When you combine this saved Messages strategy with using audio and video Messages in the “Conversation Funnel Strategy” you will be unstoppable. I start by asking for the person to identify what type of content they want to receive from me immediately after they receive the welcome Message. I set up the delivery of the content question to be delivered automatically via Many Chat. Next, I manually deliver the “saved Messages” once I jump in and see how the person is engaging with the welcome Message and the content Message.</p>

<p>More and more business's are using Facebook live for business in hopes of generating leads.  The problem is that without a solid Facebook live strategy you will not see very good results.  Follow the steps below in order to leverage live video, chat, and ads to get better results with live video.</p>
<h2>Pre-Schedule When Using Facebook Live For Business</h2>
<p>In order to be able to leverage Facebook Messenger and Facebook ads you have to pre-schedule the live video.  You can use tools like Facebook's native software, OBS, Wirecast, Be.live, BlueJeans, Ecamm and Zoom to pre-schedule your live video.  When I am using Facebook live for business I stream using Zoom for many reasons.  One reason is because I can show my desktop, I can interview others, and I can use Facebook stream keys.</p>

<h2>Create A Post About Your Live Video</h2>
<p>You cannot create a Facebook ad for your pre-scheduled Facebook live so you have to make another post.  I make WordPress post about my upcoming topic and post that to my Page.  Sometimes I also go live or upload a video about the pre-scheduled live video.</p>
<p>I like to embed my pre-scheduled live video on the WordPress post.  That way people can go to that post on my website to watch the live video if they want.</p>

<h2>Create A Comment To Messenger Reply</h2>
<p>I use ManyChat to send a notification to everybody that comments on the post about the live video.  I do this to <a href="https://ryansteinolfson.com/facebook-messenger-subscriber-strategy/">automate the follow up</a>, get more subscribers, and segment my audience.  Instead of using ManyChat you can manually send everybody that comments the link to the live video.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>&#8211; Okay, Ryan Steinolfson here. I help businesses and brands get more customers, leveraging the amazing strategies of live video and digital marketing strategies as well. So, really quick, today I'm talking to you about captions and specifically captions for your Facebook videos and why you should care and why you might wanna consider doing this. Number one, if you don't do this, you're not gonna get as much engagement, you're not gonna get as many views, and I'm gonna start doing this myself. I know that there's strategies that will allow you to use, where you could upload your Facebook video to YouTube and then you can re-download it. There's a tool, there's a company that I'm gonna recommend that will actually create an SRT file of the video for you, I believe, for about a dollar an hour. And then, the great thing about that is once you get the SRT file, this is what I'm trying to figure out is, I also wanna get the transcription of the video so that I can create a blog post out of it so that I don't have to write anything. So, this really is a dual combination video here where you're gonna understand the value of captioning and how it can help you with your rankings, which is one of the big reasons for doing this, because it will help the video to rank higher. And then also, the other concept I wanna introduce is this concept of actually creating a blog post out of the transcription so that you can have your content rank in the search results for Bing, Yahoo, Google; Google first and foremost, obviously. And let me just show you what we're talking about here. So, let me flip the screen, I'm out here at my office, and let me go to Chalene Johnson's video here. This is what's been playing in the background on her Chalene Johnson website here, or Facebook page. Heh, website, that's funny. But look at this. This is the closed captioning. Well, you know what happens, if that video is in my stream and I go by it and I see this coming up here, I'm gonna be a heck of a lot more likely to watch that video, right, than if it's just her talking right? Because I'm actually able to watch it, okay? Hey Paula, thanks for joining. So, this is something that I really want you guys to see, I want you to understand. And the question that you might be asking yourself is, &#8220;Well, how the heck, Ryan, do I actually even do that? &#8220;Where do I go to even add this quote-unquote SRT file &#8220;or this captioning to the video?&#8221; And again, you can download your video from YouTube or from Facebook, and all you gotta do, I do not wanna hear myself, oh my gosh&#8230; So, all you gotta do is just right-click and then Show video URL, and then you can download it, you can actually download the video and then re-upload it to YouTube. And then, YouTube will actually listen to it and supposedly create a file. I just don't know if it's the file type that you need in order to create the SRT file type, captioning file type that you need in order to get what Chalene Johnson has here, which is these amazing words that are showing up on her video. I mean, isn't that much more engaging? We know that people are much more likely to watch videos that have closed captioning like that when they come through your time stream here, your timeline. So, people are gonna stop, they're gonna actually see what's going on. It's very, very easy to add this, guys. It's not hard. All you do is you go right here, let me just go back. You go to your video, you log in; obviously, you make sure you're logged in. Go here to Edit. And then, you just simply go here to captions, and then you go so Upload SRT File. Now, where do I go to actually get the SRT file? Well, what you need to do is once that video is uploaded, you just go back to the video, you wanna grab the URL. Okay, so you just right-click right on top of the video here, Show video URL. There's your URL, you wanna grab that, and you wanna go to a website called Rev. Set up an account there, sign in. I'm signed in here to my new account, to my account. And then, go to where it says, &#8220;Upload a video,&#8221; and then, look. You can paste a URL, you can integrate your YouTube channel so it'll just grab the YouTube videos, it'll show 'em up right here, the YouTube videos will show up right here so you can select which one you want, or you can upload the file itself. If I just wanna paste a URL in here, well, this is where I actually would paste that URL. How cool is that? There you go. And then you just add it. And then, boom, you've got the ability to then be able to, okay, &#8220;What caption and subtitle file formats do you provide?&#8221; Well, there's your SRT file format and all of these others, okay? And it's just a dollar per minute to transcribe, so I'm assuming that it's a dollar, hey Deb, how's it going? So, 10-minute video, 10 bucks. I'd say do it, especially if it's a really, really good video, and you wanna create a blog post from it anyway. So, you can just take the SRT transcription potentially and actually create a blog post out of it. So, I'm wondering, this is what I wanna do is I'm gonna find out from Rev if I can get the SRT, and then if I can have them also at the same time generate a very simple transcription as well, because that's really what they're doing. So, I hope that makes sense. Again, just to summarize, if you want to really create more engagement on your videos, this is a very, very powerful strategy that will allow your videos to show up higher in the search results potentially on YouTube and also on Facebook because you're able to upload the actual captions themselves. And by the way, you can upload this captions file to YouTube as well in order to have those captions show up so that when somebody sees the video, they can see what you're saying as well without actually even listening to it. And now, where you've got these videos going through the timeline, it is important for those captions sometimes to show up. And it also helps Facebook and YouTube know what the video's about so they can properly position it in the results so that people can find it more easily. And the great thing is is that you can also create a blog post outta the transcription, which is not very far off from the captions. So, I'm hoping that I can get a transcription and an SRT file outta this at the same time. So, stay tuned, I'll keep you posted. <h1>Why Use Facebook Messenger Discovery?</h1>
<p>Facebook Messenger discovery makes it easy for people to find your chat bot organically.  One of the problems with a Facebook Messenger is getting people to subscribe so that you can have a conversation with them. <p>One of the most effective ways to get more subscribers is to submit your chat bot on Facebook Messenger Discovery.  The process of making your chatbot discoverable only takes about 10 minutes to complete.  The form is very simple to fill out and it is located right in the setting section on your Page.￼  After you fill out the application Facebook needs in order to make your chatbot discoverable, they will then review your chatbot and make it live in the discovery section within 24 to 48 hours.</p>
<h2>My Experience With Facebook Messenger Discovery</h2>
<p>Initially, I found Facebook Messenger discovery on my Facebook Page by mistake.  Then, I found out from the recent Facebook F8 meeting that Facebook is incorporating chatbot search in Facebook messenger very soon. The reason why discovery is so important is because if you're chatbot is listed on discovery then you will have more people find your chat bot organically and subscribe.  Currently, when people find me in search on Google they are much more likely to move forward with with my services because of my positioning on Google. That same kind of authority will be conveyed when your prospects find you in discovery on Facebook because the listing is &#8220;organic&#8221;.</p>
<h2>An Example Of Benefits Of Discovery</h2>
<p>The first person that subscribed from finding my chatbot in Facebook Messenger discovery was the first person to engage with me via Facebook messenger audio. The previous 5 to 7 people that found my chatbot and subscribed we're very reluctant to engage with me even after I sent them an audio message. <p>You don't know what to say on Messenger because you have no notes.  Your team can't coordinate who is following up with who on Messenger because you have no labeling system for leads.  Do these sound like common problems for you?  If so follow the steps below to add labels and notes to your Messenger leads so you can convert more leads.</p>
<p class="p1">Getting your team to be on the same page with Messenger leads is critical because you will waste money and time if you don’t.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>If everybody on your team does not know where your at with a lead in Messenger then you will not follow up in time and you will not know what to say when you Message them back.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of the biggest problems with Facebook Messenger marketing is getting people to Message you back once they have started a Messenger conversation with your Page.  Typically a subscriber to Messenger will not respond in Messenger or they will never start a conversation. If the previous happens then you might as well not even have the person in your Messenger.</p>
<p>Use saved Messages to objectify the follow up process and make it easier to follow up.   Make it very easy for anybody on your team to send the same consistent Message to your subscribers by using saved Messages.  When your team starts sending consistent Messages you'll identify what Messages work and which ones don’t.  Eventually, you will have a recipe for the most effective Message & sequence of those Messages based on objective outcomes.</p>
<p>To set up saved Messages you have to select the saved messages button at the bottom of the screen, select a title, & enter the Message.  You can also add a picture to the Message from your camera roll, add a picture with your phone, & you can add customized field like the persons name.</p>
<p>Some really great saved Facebook Messenger marketing Messages:<br />
-Requesting that the person leave a review<br />
-Sending a lead magnet with picture or link to the lead magnet so you can leverage the “<a href="https://ryansteinolfson.com/how-the-conversation-funnel-will-help-you-achieve-rapid-business-growth/">Conversation Funnel Strategy</a>”<br />
-Set up a sequence of saved Messages that leads somebody to the lead magnet<br />
-Ask for the person to identify what content they want to receive from you so you can tag them right from the beginning<br />
-A sequence of saved Messages that takes somebody from the “lead magnet” to the “trip wire”</p>
<p>When you combine this &#8220;saved Messages strategy&#8221; with using audio and video Messages in the “Conversation Funnel Strategy” you will be unstoppable.  Start by asking for the person to identify what type of content they want to receive from you immediately after they receive your welcome Message. I set up the delivery of the content question to be delivered automatically via Many Chat.  Next, I manually deliver the “saved Messages” once I see how the person is engaging with the welcome Message and the content Message.</p>

<p>Okay, Ryan Steinolfson here. Hope you're doing good?</p>
<p>It's about a quarter till twelve, and I'm gonna talk to you about transferring a chat conversation, from your chat bot in messenger over to yourself, so that you can actually take over the conversation from the chat bot.</p>
<h6><strong>Why would you want to do that?</strong></h6>
<p>The reason why is because if you don't effectively take that conversation over, then you can't effectively bring somebody through that conversation funnel. That's really valuable.</p>
<p>It's really important to be able to bring somebody through the conversation funnel by giving them additional value, by giving them key words and conversing with them via audio messages and video messages, in order to bring them through that conversation funnel much more quickly, much more rapidly, and much more deeply into that conversation funnel than you would if just the chat bot was conversing with them.</p>
<p>So that's the problem, people just aren't doing this.</p>
<p>They're just letting the chat bot do all the work, and really the value in creating these chat BOTS is to take the conversation back, and to take the conversation back over.</p>
<h6><strong>Let me give you an example.</strong></h6>
<p>I want to let you know that that this is all brand new territory, and I want to preface this by saying that you really have to have a inbox for messenger that has the new inbox, that that looks like this.</p>

<p>If it doesn't look like this, and it doesn't have these five folders, one of them being the done folder, when you go up here to the left, then you need to<strong> upgrade your inbox, to the new inbox for messenger. </strong></p>
<p>If you do not see a done folder, in order to identify your folders, then what you need to do is you need to upgrade to the new inbox.To do that there should be something up in the top left, that asks you if you want to upgrade to the new messenger inbox, or the new messenger.</p>
<p>Once you've done that, here's what you can do. You will be able to see both sides of a conversation. So in Messenger you will see communication between yourself and the customer, in my case for this example I'm communicating with James O'Brien real estate.</p>
<p>You can see the flip side of each conversation right here in Messenger. For this example, you're seeing the James O'Brien real estate side, and you're seeing the Ryan Steinolfson side, engaging with the James O'Brien real estate chat bot. Having said that, now the chat bot has delivered all of this information directly to me in my personal Messenger inbox.</p>
<p>As James real estate bot, I know that the bot has delivered the value. So I want to take the conversation back over again</p>
<h6><strong>Okay, how do I do that?</strong></h6>
<p>You do that by moving any messenger conversation that's in the done folder, into the inbox folder. How, by clicking on this little box, you can move a conversation from the inbox to the done folder. You can see that item move to done. Now if you go to the done folder, you can now see that conversation there.</p>
<h6><strong>Okay, that's awesome but why?</strong></h6>
<p>Because now the bot can continue to do what it does. It takes over the conversation, when I'm not around. If the conversations in the done folder, it means that I'm done conversing with them, and I want the bot to take over.<br />
Think of the bot as being in the done folder.</p>
<p>If I want to take the conversation back, all I got to do is click right here.</p>

Now I can take the conversation over, and continue having the conversation with me, personally.</p>
<p>I want you guys to see that that's how it works. You want to be able to have a conversation with people, and not have the bot take over the conversation. That's what you're able to do by moving somebody from the done folder to the inbox, and from the inbox to the done folder, when you want the chat bot to take over the conversation again.</p>
<h6><strong>The Conversation Funnel</strong></h6>
<p>The reason why is because you want to be able to take that person through the <a href="http://ryansteinolfson.com/how-the-conversation-funnel-will-help-you-achieve-rapid-business-growth/">conversation funnel</a>. Like you can see is happening in your inbox, if I type in hello, me personally to messenger, I'm in the inbox, so the bots not going to take over the conversation.</p>
<p>However, if I move myself to the done folder, and let the bot take over the conversation, if I retyped in hello, then the bot will actually communicate back.</p>
<p>I hope that makes sense. I hope you understand how this works.</p>
