There was no school classes that day so my parents decided to have a trip on the ocean park. For us to see the underwater sea creatures live.
It was really an unforgettable moments, pictures that was taken are use on some of my homeworks and project. If my teacher ask me to bring some pictures of the animals that live under the ocean, I can submit her the picture and the best thing about it I am on the picture that I can personally describe my classmate how the sea creatures looks like. There are starfish, shark, turtle, small fish, big fish, leeches and more extra ordinary animals. It was an adventure that really was an educational for me and my brother.

Fun Places for learning

I sat in the subway, feeling adventurous but anxious. Friends had cautioned me against taking the subway, especially to the Brooklyn area. A wall ad, which drew a sigh of relief, read: “To travel this fast above ground requires blue tights and red cape.” Indeed, the subway was the fastest way I could reach Brooklyn from Manhattan, for an appointment at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. It was only a week later, while I was watching a TV report on the Crown Heights riots, that I realized the seriousness of the situation that summer of 2001.

On August 19, 2001, a 7-year-old black child, Alvin Gives, was struck and killed by a driver in the neighborhood of Crown Heights, New York, USA. Later that day, a scholar, was stabbed to death amid a crowd of black youths seeking revenge. Black Americans, and Caribbean Americans live in the neighborhood of Crown Heights, very close to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum.

As soon as I reached Brooklyn, I saw men in long black coats and tall black hats. They had a particular hairstyle: long side burns, sometimes with along curly hair tail. Most of the older men wore beards. These were the Hasidic Jews, I thought.

Mindy Duitz, the museum director, confirmed this observation. The Brooklyn Childrens Museum was taking positive steps to rectify the hate and misfortune that had overcome the Crown Heights neighborhood. It was no longer safe for children to play in the streets. Children are now told to stay indoors and there is an atmosphere of fear in the neighborhood.

Heredity for Growth and Development

Most of the characteristics or traits that parents pass on to their children are physical in nature. Examples of these are body build, color of the eyes and texture of the skin. A child who inherited shortness cannot grow as tall as other children even if he or she eats the right kinds of foods, or has enough exercise and rest. A child who inherited a tendency to be sick is likely to be sickly, too.

Other characteristics that children get from their parents are mental in nature like the ability to solve math problems or creative talents such as drawing, painting and singing. However, if children are not given the proper training, these abilities and talents would not be developed fully.

The characteristics that children inherit can affect their growth and development. Physical growth can be slowed down if a child is sickly. Children who are lacking in height or who may be thin or stout are often teased by other children. As a result, they may become shy and avoid people. After breakfast, she went for a walk at a nearby park with her older brothers. After walking, she rented a bike and rode around the park for one hour. Then she sat down to rest under a big shady tree.

After eating lunch at home, she took a short nap, then played a game of chess with her father. In the afternoon, she attended her cousin's birthday party. She ate cake and ice cream. played parlor games and dance with the other guests.

For Eleahjah, it was a day of rest and recreation. Do you also have time for rest and recreation like Eleahjah?

Take time to have a rest
There are times during the day when you need to rest. Rest is a short period of relaxation that the body needs after a tiring activity. Thus, your body needs to slow down so that it can regain the energy it lost.

The amount of time needed for you to rest depends on how much energy you spent on a particular activity. At school, you are given a few minuted to rest during recess. At home, you can rest by simply sitting down of lying around. You can also watch television, listen to music, read a book nor even sleep.

Sleep is an important form of rest. It prepares your body for the coming day. Your body also repairs itself when you are asleep. Lack of sleep can affect your growth as well as your immune system which keeps you form getting sick.

A time for recreation
Nowadays.more and more children are participating in activities that they enjoy and that help them relax when they are not going to school. Such as an activity called recreation.

Recreational activities can be done alone, by pairs or in groups.
