Support for the Protest in the Arab World!

Freedom, democracy, human rights and progress

We support the protests and the people's movements in the Arab world.

The Arab world is undergoing profound changes these days: People take to the streets to ask their undemocratic rulers to leave power. Transition to democracy, freedom and economic, social and societal progress, freedom from nepotism and corruption are fundamental rights not yet enjoyed but claimed by more and more people in the Arab world. We look with admiration to our brave sisters and brothers in the Arab world who dare to stand up against their despotic rulers in spite of violent oppression.

Our message to the people in the Arab world: We support your non-violent struggle for freedom, democracy, human rights and economic, social and societal progress. We are proud of you and are with you in our hearts and our minds. You are the heroes of our days!

Our message to the rulers of Arab countries: The time of despotic regimes is over. Stop suppressing your citizens. Listen to the voices of your people. You have to make your choice now: Go down in history as the enlightened ruler facilitating historic change in your country or the despotic ruler suppressing the people of your country by force and violence.

Our message to European leaders (politicians, businessmen and women, celebrities etc): Support the non-violent peoples' movements in the Arab world. Use your influence on the rulers of Arab countries. Ask them to stop shooting at their own people and to facilitate quick transition to free democratic societies treasuring human rights, rule of law, good governance and boosting economic, social and societal progress.

It has been 4 years...

For 4 years, we keep looking for the justice, conscience and the law.

We cannot find them.

For 4 years we keep looking for the judiciary, the government, the parliament.

We cannot find them.
For 4 years, we keep talking about the powers behind the murderers of our friend;

We cannot make our voice heard.

The European Court of Human Rights convicted the state, they were relieved to have a narrow escape.

We used our human right and demanded justice, they said that he was a child.

We asked them, then, to find the big brothers, they ignored.

We used our civil right and asked questions; they mocked us.

We will, once again, get together on the 4th anniversary of Hrant Dink's murder, to stand in solidarity and to commemorate him together with his family, friends and beloved ones.

We will be at the spot he was shot on January 19th 2007 on the very same moment.

The ones who do not shed light upon the darkness which makes murderers out of babies, favours the light. - Rakel Dink

Universal Declaration of Human Rights!

It is 10th of December today... Another Human Rights Day!

All around the globe the states and the governments try to hide the rights from the people. Every day we are facing different kind of violations, discrimination and humiliation. The violence is not stopped by the states, moreover the states are committing more and more. The perpetrators of the violations are encouraged by the states. I can give two recent examples from Turkey...

Last week we have witnessed once again how the police in Turkey is dealing with the demonstrators in Istanbul. We saw the anger in their eyes... Many of demonstrators are severely injured... One of them lost her pregnancy... The freedom of expression and the right for peaceful protest was a right? We are searching for Articles 19 and 20... If somebody finds them, please send them to Turkey!

Last night we showed our solidarity with Pınar Selek again. She is accused with a crime that the court experts discovered she had no guilt about, however the Supreme Court decided otherwise. They even set free the guy who testified against her, but she is to be arrested again. No one can be charged guilty until s/he prove to be guilty, right? We are searching for Articles 10 and 11... If somebody finds them, please send them to Turkey!
No need to mention about other severe violations of human rights that we are facing every day on this old planet. Surely we are marking a new era of advanced democracy and human rights... Congratulations!

Last Weekend heroics...

Last weekend I was at the Rock Vacation (Rock Tatili) Festival on Foca İngiliz Peninsula. It was not a very well organised festival, but we managed to have fun quite a fun with the help some big bottles of vodka in addition to some of the best rock bands of Turkey, namely Duman, Kurban, Mor ve Otesi...

Unfortunately one of my friends, Engin, had a bad incident during the festival. He injured himself and got unconscious. Luckily he is back to life and in good condition now. He shared a nice life quotation with us after his recovery. I would like to share it with you...

Küçük prens güllere bir kez daha bakmaya gitti.
“Hiçbiriniz benim gülüm gibi değilsiniz. Çünkü henüz hiçbiriniz evcilleşmediniz. Ve siz de hiç kimseyi evcilleştirmediniz” dedi onlara. “Siz tıpkı tilkinin benimle karşılaşmadan önceki hali gibisiniz. Dünyadaki binlerce tilkiden yalnızca biriydi o. Ama ben onunla dost oldum ve şimdi artık o özel bir tilki.”
Güller bu duyduklarına çok bozuldular.

“İnsanlar bu en önemli gerçeği unuttular. Ama sen unutmamalısın. Evcilleştirdiğin şeye karşı her zaman sorumlusun. Gülüne karşı sorumlusun."

“Gülüme karşı sorumluyum” diye tekrarladı küçük prens, öğrendiğinden emin olmak için. Sonra yoluna devam etti.
