The world’s most popular instant messaging service, Windows Live™ Messenger, is now available via Nokia Messaging*. Accessible through the Nokia Messaging Chat application, people worldwide can have multiple conversations simultaneously, change their status and personal messages, and manage their Windows Live buddy lists straight from their homescreen.

This first installment of Windows Live™ Messenger for Nokia Messaging includes tabbed chat windows, the ability to call directly from the buddy list, and notifications of new messages that pop up while the application is in the background making multitasking even easier. ‘Invisible’ login is also an option, which means you can sign in to Windows Live™ Messenger but still appear offline to your friends – making it easy to choose who you want to talk to. Nokia is taking all its service under one roof called "Ovi", And now Nokia Music PC application has become Nokia “Ovi Player“.

"Ovi Player is the new name for the earlier Nokia Music application. Ovi Player is not a ground-up rebuild of Nokia Music, but it does contain some new features that will make it even easier to use.

Ovi Player contains some new views to help you navigate and enjoy your music collection. The ‘recently added’ view is used by many people as a way of keeping track of their new music. This enhanced view shows your recently added music grouped by albums together with cover art. In addition, the introduction of a ‘filter column’ on the detailed view will also help you browse your music collection more easily.

We’ve also redesigned the player controls to be more compact and to offer a more responsive volume control and track position selector."

"Ovi Player is compatible with all existing Nokia Music Stores. When viewing Nokia Music Store using Ovi Player, the ‘music queue’ is now retractable to allow the best possible browsing experience. The queue is retracted by default but can be exposed by hovering over a simple arrow control.

Many people overlook or don’t notice this feature, but I think it’s a must-have for everyone with an expensive smartphone and sensitive data.

What does remote lock do? It allows you to send a unique message to your phone from another phone and it will lock.

The New Nokia Maemo Smartphone N900 Begins Shipping !

Today Nokia announced shipping of its Maemo Smartphone N900 to Europe, Middle-East, Russia and North America. Point to be noticed is that-Asia is absent from the shipping list - I think we have to wait for a while to get our hands on Nokia N900.

Nokia Initiates Charger Exchange Program

Nokia Espoo just launched an "Exchange Program" for certain Nokia-branded charger manufactured by a third party supplier.

According to Nokia:

"We have determined that the plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electric shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket."

The affected chargers are those manufactured by BYD between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009 and with the following model types:-

And those manufactured by BYD between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009 and with the following model type:-

Voice Search is very useful feature, which makes you mobile Internet searching a lot easier. To use just startup the Google App by pressing the 'c' key and hold down the green calling key and speak your search, its so simple to use.
