Insite linking is defined as " linking from one web page to another web page within the same website."

If you observe website trends closely, You will feel the difference in navigation techniques. Sometime Top Menu is in trend and then Side Menu. However in some search engine attractive website you will watch Footer Menus, Side Menu, Left Bottom links, Inline links etc.

One day I was desperately searching for one topic in Google. I was not not satisfied with the top page results as the content included in the top search result pages were not enough. So I decided to check the results in the less priority pages. I wondered that some web sites were content rich than I expect. So after that I was thinking why these pages came to low priority and the less relevant pages got high rankings. As a working SEO I decide to analyze each pages on the top ranking and the pages with low search ranking even though they are content full. I didn't care about the external factors which affecting the result ranks. I just analyzed the on-page factors which determines how much search engine friendly the web page is.

The analysis completed with following results.

1. The pages which optimized are enjoying the high search engine position.

2. The pages which are not optimized are in bottom pages.

What optimization the high rank pages did are not heavy works. They are some simple smart works to ensure that search engines would definitely notice the web page. I am going to tell you some simple steps which any web master can follow.

1. Don't avoid title tags

Title tags are very important as all search engines will crawl this area for getting an idea about the web page. If the title tag is not relevant to the content of the web page you will not get quality traffic. There is a chance of high bounce rate also present. If a web page has higher bounce rate that the normal rate major search engines will think like you are not providing quality content and that may lead to penalty. So always create relevant title tag with relevant keywords.

2. Don't waste your time for meta tags

Once upon a time meta tag was very important. All major search engines give attention to the meta tag contents provided in the header. But later many web masters misused the meta tag as they found it is the area they can stuff high traffic keywords to drive traffic. Later google decides to neglect meta tag as meta tag key words are not relevant to the actual page content. But my advice is not totally neglect meta tag as some search engines still using meta tag. 3. Alt text for images

Because search engine spiders cannot read images. One more issue is some people still using text only browsers and they cannot see the images. To overcome this limitation we need to add some alt text for images. The alt text should be neat and keyword rich.

4. Ensure that the page contains enough keywords

I stress this part as an important way to get noticed by search engines. If you are creating a content full web page normally there should be enough keywords. But instead of keyword many authors are using short form of keywords to avoid the typing. For a user it is OK as he knows the short form means the keyword but search engine spiders cannot. So use some smart work along with your hard work.

There are many on-page factors which I don't cover but I ensure you that if you concentrate the points I listed above, that will boost your search engine ranking.

When having any sort of a website online it's always important to follow certain procedures to ensure that your website is seen. One of the main processes you should be following in order to GET people to your site is something called Search Engine Optimization or SEO for short. And really if you have no idea about any of these words let alone why you should have them or how they work; you need to hire someone in SEO. The people that do SEO are masters at what they do. In fact, a lot of sites will actually guarantee that you show up as #1 on Google and other search engines, whereas others will guarantee you show up on the first page. It really depends on whom you go with and what they promote their business as doing for you! When I first got into having my first site online, I obviously had no idea what I was doing.

I had no sales, hardly any visits, and my site barely ever showed up on Google and I could never figure out why. Then, within the last few years I have learned a lot about SEO and why its so important so I decided instead of making the same mistakes, I would hire someone on to do the work for me.

The best SEO strategy in my opinion, and experience - is a holistic white hat SEO strategy.

The dictionary definition of holistic is:

Holistic SEO simply means that you work on everything, the whole system - not just parts.

Many people involved in SEO, do not work in this manner - it's not uncommon at all to find a website that has had a lot of SEO work done in parts, but the website isn't doing nearly as well as it should be due to very important parts being completely missed out.

It's very common to find websites which suffer from one of the following :

So you have a website, but are you getting any traffic? If you think that just having a website published on the internet is enough for customers to find you, you may be in for a nasty shock! Unless you have an extremely niche product or service,you are competing against millions of websites offering the same thing. There are several ways to promote your website in order to get traffic and subsequently sell your products or services:

1. Optimise your website so that it gets found in the natural search engine results. Most potential customers don't get further than the first page of results, so that is what you are
aiming for.

2. Consider paying for adverts on Google and/or Yahoo. Do monitor your results to see if the adverts are cost effective. You don't want to be paying more for adverts than you receive in sales. You can add a tracking code to your advert to monitor traffic coming from different adverts.

3. Get listed on relevant directories. There are many shopping directories on the internet which offer free listings. Most of these require a reciprocal link from your website.

4. Contact websites offering similar products or services and exchange links. Many websites have a Links page, with a form to automatically submit your link. You will probably need to add their link to your website before they will approve your link. Some websites will only accept links with websites who have achieved a certain Google Page Rank. Read any terms and conditions before you waste time submitting a link request which may be rejected.

5. Write articles and submit them to websites which specialise in publishing articles, with a link to your website in the author bio. You may find that other websites copy your article with the author bio, so you can get several one-way links from one article, but this can be temporary as many websites change their pages regularly to show new articles.

7. Consider paying to advertise your products/services in newspapers and magazines, with a link to your website. If it is a new business or product, you may get some free editorial space

8. Create a blog and add to it regularly.

9. If you use a product or service on another website, and they publish customer reviews with website links, then go ahead and submit your own review.

10. Get business cards printed with your website address on, and hand them out whenever you get the chance!

If you have a new website, it will take time to build links and get listed on the various search engines. There is a question that many webmasters ask themselves when they are doing or going to start SEO. What keywords shall I target?

You have two common options which are, either optimize your website for one keyword which gets lots of traffic. These usually have lots of competition. You can also optimize your website for several keywords that each get few traffic but they have little competition. The amount of time to get results for each method is more or less the same.

Long tail keywords, refer to keywords that consists of multiple words. Usually these have little competition but receive little traffic.

Now understand that you are not optimizing your website but just your homepage. When you are getting links to your homepage you are not optimizing the whole website for that keyword but only your homepage. In fact your other pages will not rank anywhere, just your homepage will get ranked.

What that means to you?

Obviously it is better to get your homepage ranked since probably it is the most important page of your website, if it is a salespage or an optin page and so on. However if you have an ecommerce website, you can optimize each of your website pages for a different keyword.
