Core Network Issues

We have been experiencing intermittent periods of poor network performance over the last 24 hours.

This is being caused by a fault that has developed on our main cisco switch stack in which it’s CPU is running at 100%, typically for intermittent bursts of 4-5 minutes.

We have escalated this issue to the Cisco Assistance Centre and we are anticipating their diagnosis this morning. We will then be able to move forward.

If hardware replacement is necessary, we can complete this within 4 hours, likely at the end of Thursday’s business day.

IAX Trunk Issues

We are currently experiencing an issue which is affecting both inbound and outbound calls over our IAX platform.

Our engineering teams have been altered to this issue and are currently investigating the cause of the problem.

1. Browser based attacks where websites hosting malicious code attempt to compromise visitors. This includes MS09-045, MS09-046 and MS09-047.

2. Network based scenarios where attackers attempt Remote Code Execution (RCE) or Denial-of-Service (DoS) type attacks. This includes MS09-048 and MS09-049.

Inbound Calls

Our appologies for our issue with the telephone lines. This was tracked to an issue with our wholesale supplier. This has now been corrected.

Web Site Capacity Issues Finally Fixed

As we moved forward this year we ran into capacity issues on our web sites and feeds. This has now been corrected.

Capacity Issues

We are still trying to get to the bottom of our response times on our web site. We have narrowed it down to the new traffic shaping that has been applied to the line.

Mail Services - Amber Status

We have been running the mail services on an Amber Status for a few days...as we have seen bandwidth usage increasing. To accomodate this we have ordered today additional bandwidth into the mail server farm.

We will keep this posting updated with progress and news of the bandwidth increase.

Chat Services for WebSites

As part of our service enhancement we are only supporting the Web Site Chat services for users on the Small Business Package. If you are currently using this service you will find that your chat buttons will no longer work after 16th July 2009.

HelpDesk Update

There will be a small update to the helpdesk software.

This is to correct a few minor issues but to add the ability to reply to the e-mails generated by the help desk and automatically get the information appended to your help desk ticket.

Issue with VOIP Trunks
