			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I mentioned that two things seem to make a huge difference in my success with weight loss and maintenance – drinking at least one or two litres of water per day and working out every day (with one day per week of rest).</p>
<p>I did forget to mention one more variable that seems to make a difference.</p>
<p>If I walk for about 20 minutes per day on average it will magnify my results.</p>
<ul>
<li>If I’m working out daily, I will lose weight if I walk too.</li>
<li>If I’m neglecting my workouts, I will maintain.</li>
<li>If I’m neglecting my workouts AND my daily walk, I will gain.</li>
</ul>
<p>Sometimes weight loss and maintenance seems to be hit and miss, but if you are sensitive to your body and your habits, it is very likely that you will see a pattern.</p>
<p>Watch for you patterns and work with them to get the results and good health that you are looking for.</p>
<p>It’s a beautiful day today, I will be going for a walk! </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Being the first of the month and the month of October - with Thanksgiving and Halloween coming up - I&#39;ve decided to apply myself to a 4 WEEK PUSH to get back on track - lose those last 4lbs or an inch or two on my &#39;problem area&#39; - that three letter word - ABS.</p>
<p>I want all the other benefits too - to feel better about myself for keeping up with what I know I should be doing, feeling a lot better/stronger in general and of course - looking better too.</p>

<p>Last St. Patrick&#39;s Day I participated in the 3 day green smoothie challenge (actually, I think it may have been one week).</p>
<p>The benefits to my health have been enormous.</p>
<p>At that time, it took only a day or two to immediately feel a difference in myself - I felt calm. Better than I remember feeling in a long time and have often thought - I need to do that again!</p>
<p>My skin was also better right away. My skin tends to be red and blotchy which highlights large pores as well. Not great at all!&nbsp;</p>
<p>But my skin tone evened out so much that my daughter, who had been away on holiday came back and almost the fist thing she said to me was &quot;Mom, your skin looks like water.&quot;</p>
<p>I&#39;m thinking that the cleansing effect of the greens (that&#39;s one of their biggest benefits) reduces inflammation and the rest is clear skin and smooth sailing!&nbsp;</p>
<p>It really did have that clear kind of glow that you see on people with nice, healthy complexions.</p>
<p>Obviously it was noticable.</p>
<p>One more thing - if you&#39;re feeling puffy and bloated, it will help to get moving things along. <img src="http://queenofkaos.com/SIZZLIN-blog/wp-content/plugins/Wysi-Wordpress/plugins/emotions/images/bye.gif" border="0" alt="Bye" title="Bye" /></p>
<p><font color="#003366"><strong>KEEPING IT UP</strong></font></p>
<p>Since the challenge, I have been in the habit of having at least one or two green smoothies per day and generally eat more fruit and veggies than I used to but I haven&#39;t been focused on eating a raw diet the way I was.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Today is International Green Smoothie Day and the first day of a new 3 day challenge.</p>
<p><font color="#003366"><strong>IT&#39;S ON!</strong></font></p>
<p>I&#39;ve joined again and thought you might like to give it a try.</p>
<p>You don&#39;t need to eat only green smoothies for 3 days.</p>
<p>The idea is to increase your intake of raw/green foods over the next 3 days.</p>
<p>If you presently eat none, you will do very well to get one in there every day. You will feel the difference.</p>
<p>If you already have a smoothie or two a day and eat some veggies, you might want to ramp it up over the next 3 days.</p>
<p>And anything in between!</p>
<p>Summer time is a great time to do it, there are plenty of farmer&#39;s markets around and nice veggies and fruits to choose from. It&#39;s hot, we don&#39;t want so many heavy meals and quick is nice - fruit and veggies are some of the best fast foods you will find.</p>
<p>Don&#39;t wait, jump in now and get ready to glow.</p>
<p><font color="#003366"><strong>GET YOUR KIDS IN ON IT TOO - THEY NEED FRUIT AND VEGGIES TOO!&nbsp;</strong></font></p>
<p>You can even get your kids in by giving them some too. A fantastic way to get them to eat some really good stuff - and like it!</p>
<p>One hint, be sure to get them - and you - to brush your teeth after your smoothies. &nbsp;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have been concentrating quite a bit lately on improving my nutrition through raw foods and eating more greens.</p>
<p>It has been fantastic! I really can tell a difference right away in my skin, mood, elimination/bloating, and general energy levels when I am on track with at least two green smoothies and/or good servings of greens and veggies.</p>
<p>So I couldn&#39;t wait when Tara Warner said she was doing a Raw Mom Summit.</p>
<p>It&#39;s not just about food.</p>
<p>There are calls all over the board about sustainable living, environment, health, nature, and pretty much anything you can imagine about simple and natural living.</p>

Most of them are weight loss supplementsand fad diet pills which generally do not work. We all know the <a target="_blank" title="Losing Weight Fast" href="http://www.losing-weight-fast.net">healthy ways to lose weight</a> involves diet and exercise But the weight loss business is fraught with misleading information and myths. Let us look at some of these myths.</p>
<p> <strong> Myth#1:</strong> Spot reduction of fat is possible: This cannot possibly be true .You cannot force your body to spot reduce your fat under any circumstances, no matter what type of workouts you do. [If you only do crunches and leg lifts regularly in the hope of reducing belly fat you will find that instead of elliminating your belly fat you will reduce the muscle mass that lies beneath the abdomen. Your focus should not be on crunches and leg lifts alone; you should also follow a healthy diet that would speed up your metabolic rate and help you burn fat fast.</p>
<p> . <strong>Myth#2:</strong> A drastic reduction of calorie intake reduces your body fat: This myth has pushed many a person to the brink of crash dieting. People take to crash dieting in the hope of shedding those extra pounds, not realizing that crash dieting could harm their bodies instead of helping them. As a matter of fact, when you starve or fast, your body believes that you are going to harm it and then it goes into the starvation mode. When in starvation mode, the body reduces its metabolic rate and uses the muscles rather than fat, which is kept in reserve for making energy. So the weight being lost is not fat; if anything it is muscle mass. And once you return to your normal diet,you will gain back not only the weight you lost, but even more pounds.</p>
<p> <strong> Myth#3:</strong> Doing only cardio exercises will help you lose weight: While it is true that cardio exercises can help you lose fat, it is not true that this is the only type of weight loss exercises available; don&#8217;t forget the aerobics. As a matter of fact, the amount of fat you will lose doing either cardio or aerobics is almost same. On the other hand, weight lifting is better than both cardio and aerobics, in that it not only helps you burn fat during the workout, but it also also strengthens your bones.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I find sparkling water - either LOW SODIUM club soda or Perrier to be one of the best ways to get myself back on track for drinking water through out the day.</p>
<p>After awhile I can wean myself off, but at first if I&#39;ve slid out of the habit - the bubbles really help.</p>
<p>With some squeezed lemon, and a little cold filtered water, it&#39;s good enough to drink!</p>
<p>So I thought you might be interested in this article, it has quite a few facts about sparkling or soda water that I didn&#39;t know about.</p>
<p><font color="#000066"><strong><br />
<h2>SODA WATER - ADD A LITTLE SPARKLE&#8230;</h2>
<p> </strong></font> </p>
<p>Soda water, also referred to as <a href="http://flavoredsparklingwater.com/" target="_blank">sparkling water</a>, and is plain water with carbon dioxide gas added &#8212; it has been &quot;carbonated.&quot;. It is the most dominant ingredient of most &quot;soft drinks.&quot;. Soda pop, loved my many, is basically carbonic acid &#8212; the product of carbonation.</p>
<p> By using a seltzer bottle filled with water and then &ldquo;charged&rdquo; with carbon dioxide, soda water (club soda) was produced in the past in the home. Club soda may be the same as plain carbonate water but it can have a small amount of table salts, and sodium trace minerals. Such additives could possibly make the taste of home made <a href="http://diy-selzerwater.com" target="_blank">soda water</a> slightly salty. This process, occuring naturally in some areas, produces carbonated mineral water.</p>
<p> Sparkling mineral water may sometimes cause a little dental decay. The potential problem of sparkling water is slightly greater than &quot;still&quot; water, but the problem remains low. Regular soft drinks cause tooth decay at a rate much higher than sparkling water. The rate is so low it suggests that carbonation may not be a factor in causing dental decay.</p>
<p> Artesian wells are often the source for water that filters among layers of minerals containing forms of carbonates, absorbing the carbon dioxide gas released by those carbonates. This produces natural sparkling water. Shoud the water also pick up enough different minerals to become flavored, it becomes sparkling mineral water.</p>
<p> In its basic construction, soda water is just water and carbon dioxide. A naturally-occuring product of carbonation is sparkling mineral water. A jeweler, in 1794, made a device to produce an artificial carbonated mineral water.</p>
<p> A taste test was conducted involving several carbonated drinks; Perrier, a sparkling natural mineral water, was deemed to keep its fizz the longest.</p>
<p> The gentle fizz of club soda may be a welcome alternative for consumers who feel seltzer to be a bit harsh. As part of the tasting test, club soda seemed to be milder and a little sweeter tasting than standard carbonated water.</p>
<p> Having zero calories, club soda, sparkling mineral water, seltzer, and carbonated water are a dieter&rsquo;s choice over soda pop and tonic water. Not even if flavored at home with <a href="http://allfreightfree.com/en/sparkling-water-flavor-34/" target="_blank" title="flavor for carbonated water">flavor for carbonated water</a>.</p>
<p> Tonic water is a type of carbonate drink containing water, sugar, carbon dioxide and quinine. Quinine&#39;s first use in tonic water was as an additive to help cure or prevent malaria. Today it is often mixed with gin and lemon or lime to create an alcoholic drink.</p>
<p> These facts and names are just a few of the ways we refer to soda water.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After participating in the green smoothie challenge that the Raw Diva, Tera Warner put together, I can say that my healthy eating habits grew by leaps and bounds.</p>
<p>My diet now consists primarily of raw foods in the form of smoothies or fruit and veggie snacks. The rest is clean food - I&#39;ve cut out almost all sugar, gluten, processed foods and cheese.</p>
<p>I do have a few cheats here and there but it isn&#39;t the norm anymore.&nbsp;</p>
