Group of Ministers recommends new fertiliser investment policy

NEW DELHI: A Group of Ministers (GoM) has proposed a new fertiliser investment policy which focuses on the development of new urea production capacity of almost 6-million tonnes. The policy will be needing green signal from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) before it is implemented.

NEW DELHI: The Fertiliser production in India is expected to grew at the rate of 9 per cent to 37.6 million tonne in the upcoming fiscal (2012-13) on the back of better capacity utilisation.

As per the Fertiliser Ministry's assessment, country's production is likely to increase to 37.6 million tonne in the next fiscal as against 34.6 million tonne this year.
