Salam everyone! It's been awhile since my last post huh? Been feeling a lil sick lately but hope it will all go away soon, amin! Hope it's still not too late to wish everyone Salam Aidil Adha ♥ Manage to contribute some for a qurban this year alhamdulillah..

Anyways 2 weeks ago I was invited to an event sponsored by Channel Emas. I feel like I should write in Malay for this post? Should I?? Okay here goes...Okay kamu semua pernah tak dengar tentang Channel Emas ni?? Mesti tak pernah kan? Huhu sebenarnya saya pun sama mula-mula dulu, bila krew Channel Emas perkenalkan diri saya pun terpinga-pinga juga chanel mana pula yang dia cakapkan ni. Rupanya bila diterangkan, baru lah saya tahu kalau anda salah seorang pelanggan UNIFI, ada pilihan untuk langgan channel-channel yang disediakan dalam HyppTV dan salah satunya!! Bila nampak Datin Normala, memang terus rasa gugup tak tau nak kata apa. Beliau sememangnya nampak muda remaja macam adik-beradik dengan anaknya yang berumur 19 tahun itu. Ada juga saya cuba bertanya apa rahsianya nampak cantik kekal dari dulu sampai sekarang. Datin berkata bahawa kecantikan bukanlah yang perkara yang paling utama tapi sebaliknya kebersihan diri, sebagai seorang wanita seharusnya kebersihan dari segala segi dititikberatkan sebelum mengambil kira tentang kecantikan. Kerana dengan menjaga kebersihan, kecantikan dalaman dan luaran pun terserlah. Wah gitu! Tapi memang ada betul lah kan? Dalam Islam pun kita wajib jaga kebersihan dahulu sebelum apa-apa pun ;)

Selepas mendengar ucapan dari Datin Normala, kami semua iaitu pemenang pertandingan dan saya disajikan makanan tengahari dan turut diberi peluang untuk menikmati perkhidmatan spa tajaan Jari Spa. Dapatlah kami berehat-rehat sambil diurut, lulur dan sebagainya. Dah lama saya tak buat spa bagai ni jadi sangatlah segar setelah diurut! Terima kasih Jari Spa!

It's been way too long since my last outfit post so why not a mash-up of them altogether? Haven't been feeling fashionable much lately but today I went for my hospital check-up and got my kidney function/renal/blood test and everything turned up A-OK! Alhamdulillah!

You've probably seen these outfits before as I haven't shopped for what may feel like years, saved up for the trip and still saving up for something else other than personal shopping :P

Needed something Morrocan-esque for Mira Mimpi Kita's wedding reception and I just re-wore this embroidered caftan I bought for raya. Worn this for The Scarflet's JELITA photoshoot. So sad that the photos of me and the bride & groom was too shaky :((

NZ Trip #2: House Tour

So immediately after checking out of our one night stay at Columbia Apartment, we went to Tai Ping Asian Market to buy groceries. Since we came in a large group, cooking seems like the more likely option during our stay. Ofcourse our tongue and throat still desire asian style cooking and where else can you get it other than cooking by yourself, and to get all the cooking stuffs luckily there's Tai Ping Asian Market (I think they have a lot of branches all around New Zealand, seen some of them in our travels).

Figuring out is the wheat starch they sold and wheat flour back at home are the same. Not too sure but our home made 'cekodok' turned out hard :/

Shy birthday girl Yash who's birth date fells on our second day in New Zealand. Still waiting for that birthday party hehe

On our way to Karekare, crossed a beautiful bridge overlooking these scenic views.

Before we arrive to our holiday home, we made one more stop looking for halal meat. Luckily Yash has already made her research and we went straight to the halal meat factory in Avalon city! LOL! Ofcourse we were directed to Muhammeds Halal Meat Shop after that because for obvious reasons we can't purchase the meat from factory. The reason we're purchasing halal meat was that we were planning to cook rendang and have our own raya di perantauan moments! Although that plan didn't fall through just as much because we didn't really change into our traditional baju kurung and baju melayu due to the cold weather but we did cook rendang, have ketupat and lemang too! Pictures of that later ;)

After about an hour journey from Auckland, we finally arrived at Wharepuka! Trust me the road was long winding but scenic and lovely, it was also quite fun to see the farms by the road side all along our neighbour houses. We rented a house on top of a hill in a private farm. Pictures!

What else that's good to eat in a cold windy Spring day that reminds you of home? Maggi ofcourse!! Haha we had an impromptu small picnic at the patio while the boys were resting. In all honesty it turned out to be too windy and cold outside as the day was closing in to night *_*

Say hello to our neighbour's sheeps! The house has 4 rooms and even an outdoor hot-tub. At night we needed to light up the fire at the fire place or else the temperature would be too cold to sit in. Love the place though and our land-lord was more than accommodating. If you are planning to visit Auckland in the future, you might wanna check-out this holiday home! The rent was about NZD1.5k for a whole week and I think it was really worth it compared to living in a hotel! But the price might be lower if we didn't come during Rugby World Cup season, some say it should be half the price! But anyways it was all worth it and even till this day we're still reminiscing about our moments spent at that holiday house.

By the way have you heard about Giuliana Rancic being diagnosed with breast cancer?? It's one shocking and devastating news indeed. She only found out about having it when one of her doctor pushed her into doing mammogram before she does her 3rd attempt in IVF. Good news it was detected at an early stage, even Giuliana didn't expect to do a mammogram not until she turned 40 which is in 4 more years.. And her family has no history of breast cancer. All I can say is be strong Giuliana, I really do admire you seeing that you're such a hardworking, open and inspirational woman. Such a huge fan of Giuliana & Bill reality show by the way. I hope all will go well for you G ♥

NZ Trip #1

It all started when a couple of our friends invited us to buy these promotional tickets to Auckland during Rugby World Cup 2011, at first I wasn't really into it coz I was afraid if we couldn't come up with enough money to spend for the travelling and stuff but Naz got quite excited especially because they chose a date during the RWC. So bought the promotion tickets from JetStar around RM1.2k for both of us return! Rather cheap wasn't it?? But ofcourse little that we know what we're gonna go through with JetStar...........

First, 3 weeks before date of departure Jetstar called us and said the flight was canceled so we had to move the date either a day earlier or a day later. We opted for a day earlier, so we asked for compensation from Jetstar since the change has interfered with our accommodation schedule and everything - only after we came back from New Zealand did we receive the compensation vouchers after calling them up so many times. And ofcourse the transit flight from Singapore to Auckland was delayed, but it was a blessing in disguise because! Jetstar managed to lost my friend's baby stroller so most of our time spent in Changi Airport was running around looking for the stroller T_T and believe me the stewardess nor the Jetstar officers were any helpful, they were infact very clueless.. Oh well, that's what you got for taking cheap flights.. Note that Jetstar is the Australian version of AirAsia...

Finally found it at Lost&Found after hours of chasing around! All is well again. Note that Baby Aulea was influenced by Amat to look up and to the side -_-" (pengaruh rakan sebaya bapanya.. tsk tsk)

After 10 hours flight from Singapore - Auckland, we finally arrived! Little that I know that it was actually freezing outside at 10 degrees!! Rain and windy day brrrrr, I can't really stand cold weather :(

Changed my boots to my trusty red Bata sneakers for walking around in the city. It was Sunday so most shops are closed :( and it was really windy brrrrrr...........

The boys going crazy in front of Mt. Eden Stadium, one of us - Nan went to see a rugby game there in between Fiji vs Samoa I think.

Infront of a cute house right in front of the stadium, so cute we wanna move in immediately haha. In our dreams indeed!

The Estima we rented for our stay, needed a big car for our big 'family' and because we're staying out of town so it's easier to move around. El-Cheapo de Jucy!

Alas we only needed just one night there because the house we rented was not available a day earlier, remember that our flight was canceled and changed to an earlier date? Oh well, looking forward to show y'all pictures of the house we stayed in, in my next post!

Went to ZVSH Studio at Soho Empire 2 nights ago for pot-luck iftar and apparently a surprise birthday dinner for me! Sneaky lil friends, I LOVE YOUS! ZVSH is my Shoplifter sister Shuz's design studio where she makes and design clothes. She also teaches sewing/pattern-making/drafting classes here, so if you are interested in knowing how to sew and designing clothes with your hands you can contact Shuz. She has a really distinctive sense in fashion and dare I say has received DEAN LIST achievement in almost each semester she was in UiTM. *proud sister*

So yesterday was my birthday, didn't plan anything fancy or extravaganz. I just had a quiet evening with Naz, had iftar at Delicious and he brought home the pavlova coz he said he wanted to. Being me, I was super sleepy and slept like a baby even before it was 12am. And at 12 he woke me up to this lil thing on the coffee table in a dark living room. It was nice, and quaint :)

Honestly though I wasn't expecting anything because I feel grateful enough to be alive and kicking long enough to reach a year older, considering what I've gone through from last year till now. All I want to do is just soak in all the happiness and feel blessed.

Thank you so much to every single one of you who wished me on facebook, twitter, instagram and even writing a blog post wish! You all made me feel so special :) What's even more surprising was that a few people tweeted me saying Kak Noryn Aziz, the beautiful jazz singer mentioned my name during her appearance in Wanita Hari Ini yesterday for segment Turban Style / Gaya Turban. That certainly made my day! I am certainly honored that she would even come down to this bazaar I joined sometime ago to get herself on quite a number of Schanaz Scarf <3

And thanks to Jezmine Blossom, my Schanaz Scarves was initially introduced to Noryn when she styled her for InTrend - Hijabista issue which came out in September 2011. Don't forget to go & get it!

Was very fortunate to be invited to explore the rooms and spaces of "Nike Crib" last Friday at Faces Platinum Suites Show Gallery. In within those spaces was decorated with latest seasonal apparel and accessories of Nike Sportswear, taking a cue from Nike's strong association with authentic sport; the Nike Sportswear range has taken on a new motto of - 'Always On'. Definitely one of the best highlight of the year, I've been his fan since "Ala Canggung" hehe, and we have their Too Phat's original CD in our car that we took out to play every once in a while ;)

Rise of the Planet of Apes

Have you watched this movie? Honestly I wasn't feeling like watching it the first time I saw the trailer, it's an animal movie - will it get anymore different? Well then, glad I changed my mind after reading up everyone's tweet about it. Some even say it's much better than Transformers and 'some-other-hyped-movie' COMBINED! What got me more intrigued was that Jezmine tweeted saying it was a sad movie. I wondered why............

I prepared myself if in anycase I would be sad and cry. And oh my God I did, infact I cringed and cried through and through. I despise all the animal cruelty that happened throughout the movie, although those animals weren't real (CGI animation right?) but the feeling it evoke was as real as it can be. I can relate on how Caesar doesn't want to be treated as a pet, because he's as genius as a human being! And when all the apes fought with the humans, couldn't help but feel bad for both sides. I don't want the apes to get hurt, neither do I want the humans to die. Felt like watching the Gulf War and being helpless! If you get what I mean..

Anyways I have to agree, Rise of the Planet of Apes is probably the best movie of the year! And oh hot damn who can deny the hotness of James Franco ;)

Next, Cowboy and Aliens! Can't get over the title! Too funny!! XD

Been so busy and uninspired to post my own outfit shots, hence been playing around with polyvore! I've registered for an account 4 years ago but only recently that I learned how to use it creatively. Plus, it was Nina Hidayat from MSN Life & Style who literally pushed me to it :P I was asked to write an article for styling tips for Raya so I used Polyvore to collage my ideas :)

Keeping My Head in The Game

Working on your own has every bits of ups and downs, I don't know how all the other people do it but trying to stay focused and be inspired all the time is hard work. I've been feeling more than just under the weather for a few weeks or maybe months now? It feels like a reaaally long time. I don't know what to do about it neither do I feel happy just letting it be as it is. I have been whining about it on a few tweets but of course when other people talk to me I'd spring back to a happy tone coz honestly who likes to be emo all the time or who likes to talk to someone who sucks out happiness out of everything - I don't wanna be that person so with everyone else I act like I'm happy or like there's nothing wrong.

I think.... the cause of my unhappiness might stem from that feeling I got after receiving the document that told me that my cancer relapsed. Although I tell myself that I'm okay about it now, that I've accepted my fate and gonna strive to live my life day by day like a normal person BUT I can't help but feel a lil tinge of anger in my heart about what happened. Obviously there's a tiny part of me that's still unsettled about the whole situation. Anyways, I've been taking low dose oral chemo for about a month now, just a pre-caution to suppress the cancer cells from coming back - that's the only thing the doctor can help me right now. I've also been taking 4Life Transfer Factor and SNE pills, I think they kinda work wonders coz I went through my last chemo session with less complications (despite the fact that it was the most high risk chemotherapy I took). It sort of strengthens my immune system? Got my blood checked for two months in a row now, once a month; and I'll be going again tomorrow. Alhamdulillah the doctor said my blood result is CANTIK! In both tests. That's good news right? Yes good news! I feel happy for awhile after receiving the result but, the happiness was short-lived and I'm back feeling mundane again.

This, actually affects my creative side (tak la kreatif sangat so bila terkesan terus buntu gitu) and I find myself not being inspired of anything at all. It's hard for me to do work when there's this nagging feeling at the back of my head just constantly pulling me down. Come Ramadhan I felt a certain kind of calmness but I also felt empty inside. It's a sign I know it, that I must work harder to be closer with my Creator o Allah. A kind reader (Melissa Wan Hasan) sent me this email saying she was feeling down too but after reading the whole chapter she felt better. I'm halfway in and I gotta say, I feel like the truth of each and every single word resounds on me. Let me share a few excerpts;

The first exercise is for us to consciously realize that Allah knows. Whatever grief we go through, whatever hardship we endure, we must understand that we are never alone. Even if we feel abandoned by the world and those closest to us, Allah is there. He reminds us in the Qur’an,“Fear not. Indeed, I am with you [both]; I hear and I see.” (20:46)
Certain hardships are so consuming that we cannot focus on anything but the difficulty. But we have to remember that if we were to enumerate the blessings of Allah (swt), we would not be able to count them. Reminding ourselves of the other blessings in our lives helps us to see the test within the context of the grand scheme of things. Just the fact that you can make sajda (prostration), and call out, “O Allah!” is a blessing that surpasses all others.

Maybe I'm pretty late at discovering this, but I want to share it with all of you. I'm sure in life, we all have our moments of despair. Maybe it's a calling that we don't know how to respond to..

And alhamdulillah this morning, I found some inspiration and I felt like I too can be as successful as the people around me. Ofcourse finding an inspiration is one thing, and working to make it happen is another. I've discussed the initial plan with husband and he agrees. InsyaAllah we will work harder to produce more products on Shop SputnikSweetheart and as for myself, to better and fix whatever is broken inside insyaAllah.

I hope it's not too late to wish all of you Salam Ramadhan Mubarak, may this month have not gone wasted; there's still time and room for improvement. InsyaAllah..

Me and Eyqa with Irma Hasmie, celebrity and host of the program Assalammualaikum.

Was invited to TV-AlHijrah (Astro channel 114) under the programme Assalammualaikum on Sunday morning 24th July. The other girls who were invited is Jezmine presenting Old Blossom Box, Shea & Adriani for Pastelina, Eyqa for Sugarscarf and me for Shop SputnikSweetheart! We mostly talked about selling clothes online and what type of fashion or style closest to our heart. Thank you so much to Ili & Liyana for thinking of us and inviting us over. I was really nervous but looking back to the recording my brother in law took of me I looked kinda okay :P Alhamdulillah.. This was also my first time meeting youtube star Najwa Latif, she was really nice & sweet girl and only 16 years old!

Once again, thank you TV-AlHijrah for inviting us over ♥

SYTYCT?

Was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of the team to join SYTYCS organized by Tongue in Chic and Parkson Pavillion on 23rd July 2011. We were told to pick-up random items under 10 chosen racks in Pavillion under 7 minutes (maximum 6 items) and style them using our own accessories & shoes within 10 minutes. Really glad we picked up all these pieces; black lace jacket + blue bow top layered under + flirty chiffon orange dress + purple jumpsuit we twisted into a turban + the edgy colorful bag. Using our own accessories I think we did a pretty good job - it was on trend (color-block) and it was elegant with a bit of edge. We got into top 5 as chosen by professional judges but didn't got into top 3 because it was based on cheering by crowd. Ah well, I think I had a great time with Aishah & Diana and each of us got this Femme by Boss perfume to bring home anyways! Been using it everyday honestly ;)

My Experience with Naza World: Blues vs Tigers

I know I know, football is so last week but I've been caught up with work I had no chance at all to blog not even tweet as much as I used too. But this is one of those events that I had given a chance to be part of, that I will never ever forget in my life. Free grandstand tickets to the game, I have never ever been to any game in the National Stadium and I was pretty pschyed to watch our national team play against one of the big guns in football! We were all gathered at Naza World PJ and got a chance to meet SM Faisal in person, along with wife and cute kid. He was very nice and shook hands with most of us when we were all introduced, unlike the hype of VVIP being egoistic or 'sombong'; he's nothing like that. Even his wife was very nice & humble :)

Before we went to the stadium, the organizer a.k.a cutesy pie Helenness & lanky Leonard bought each and every one of us McDonald set incase we got hungry before the game. And we went aboard a bus reserved for us from Naza World to Stadium Bukit Jalil, escorted by policeman in big motorbikes. Talk about VIP treatment! This was my first time seeing all the traffic being pushed away by the policemen to allow us pass by. Usually I'd be the one on the side of the road being pushed away but haha now I know how it feels like to be the other way around. We know a lot of people were quite angry because it was peak hour at that time and the traffic jam was crazy without us adding oil to the fire. Ahh well :P

Seated at the Grand Stand area, we could see the game going on pretty well from our seats. Although this was my first time attending a live game in the National Stadium, honestly I wished Chelsea had put in a little bit more effort into the game coz the game looked a lil bit boring? Maybe it's just me from my amateur eyes. Or maybe our national team was really good at defending but lost on the second half when Drogba kicked a goal. Good game boys, good game!

After the game was finished we were all escorted back to Naza World with the policemen. There ends our VIP treatment, ahh we certainly went back home wishing for them to escort us back home as well but one can only wish. All in all, we had a great time. My husband was so happy he got to see his favorite football team play and I'm happy when he's happy. Thank you so much Naza World for the opportunity!

And I heard that Naza World committed to support the local Sports Tourism and are all for healthy lifestyles hence their Sponsorship as Official Transporter and Logistics for ChelseaFC as well as the Official Transporter + Logistics + Jersey for the ongoing first ever Sepaktakraw World Cup happening at Stadium Titiwangsa 21 - 24th July 2011 Open to Public + many more future events.

Did you also saw that team Naza World rolled out with Vespa Malaysia to the game between Singapore & Malaysia. Now that was really something! I wished I joined that but I know one friend who did and he had a blast!

So, I am honestly not a sports kinda girl but once again Naza World has invited me to be one of the VIP in one of their events! So last weekend on Sunday, SHOP SPUTNIKSWEETHEART was privileged to be one of the shop that +Wondermilk invited to join in for their Cuppacakes Show. I still remember back in the last +Wondermilk Cuppacake Show which was actually 3 years ago, me & my The Shoplifters girls joined in for our first time. I arrived late coz I had to be a bridesmaid to my colleague and I wore kebaya the whole day manning the stall + Marion Caunter from 8TV interviewed Shuz for The Shoplifters and it was sorta surreal! Missed those moments, and I'm very thankful Dzu & Ifzan decides to invite my shop personally since The Shoplifters has fallen into a deep slumber.. Anyways, photos!

There was free face-painting service and lookie here what I got, one of Mimpi Kita lovely owner; Mira Zulkifli! So adorable ♥

Olsen Suited Up & Levi's x Juice Photoshoot

It was like a dream coming true when Sueann contacted me through facebook about doing a Levi's photoshoot. This will come out in Juice magazine in August, can't wait! Some photos of the day. Decided do to the Ashley Olsen matching suit get-up that day;

Wore the same outfit for dinner & movie date with the girls later that night, since I cheated and only wore the pants half part of the day. You'll see why later.

The get-up, it's not even a real pair of suit. Just a pair of pants & blazer that was of the same tone & here's Ashley in her suit.

Me, working the square scarf. Feels kinda awkward.

Should not have taken the belt off. Anyways leopard skinny belt & leopard loafers ;)

And at the studio, I got a chance to work with photographer Vincent Paul Yong! I was actually super excited but I had sore throat and was shy so I kept all the excited screams in my tummy and screamed outside when the shoot finished instead XD

Wanted to try this style from Giorgio Armani but I didn't bring the right material nor pins :(

I get to choose any of these! *gasp*

My slot ended like 10-15 minutes? It was really brief! But what's more exciting is that they were loving the shots and I think they got what they needed just within those short time. At one point, Vincent was cheering me on and said "Macam Ziana Zain!" .. I was like "whaaaat...?" and couldn't keep my face straight!

With the other girls, Devina was also the other girl they shot, Sueann from Catcha, Jolin from Levi's (she helped measuring me up and choose which Curve ID I was) and the adorable Miranda from Juice magazine. I still remember Miranda buying a Casio from us about 1 - 2 years back ;)
