Jesus+Nothing=Everything: Everything(ness)/The Glory of God (05-06-12)

God did not send us The Messiah for us to respond with Jesus AND. The gospel that saves is focused solely on the works of Jesus Christ; what he did, not what we do. This series will be a breakdown of the doctrine of salvation. We are saved by grace through faith. We will explore justification, righteousness and sanctification.
We will break down competing forces like:

Grace vs Legalism.
Hope vs Despair.
Response vs Obligation.

SERIES GOAL:

We want to educate students to know how they are saved and what the proper response should be to what Jesus did for us. We believe this to be a fundamental and crucial point of understanding for all Christians.

Key Quotes:

When the Christian faith becomes defined by who we are and what we do and not by who Christ is and what he did for us, we miss the gospel.

God's law reveals how quick we are to run from him; God's gospel reveals how quick he is to run after us.

Union with Christ doesn't mean that we can now do everything Jesus did, but rather that we have now freely received everything Jesus earned.
