We are currently raising funds for our new short film project “Hospital Hill” through IndieGoGo and other private investments.  As many of you recall we were going to start filming this project during the fall of 2008, however we ran into several complications and setbacks with locations and funding.  If you like our work, please contribute to the new film.

Dave has been busy working on the screenplay for Redress.  You can follow the development of the project on his Production Blog. We have no immediate plans for production, but we plan on making this our next feature film project.

As I had more time to sit and think about the story I passed it around to a few people for review. One of my friends has some ideas to add and the project pretty much exploded from there. We are still hashing out the script at this moment, but since I had already done a lot of preproduction on the film in its short form, the project is on the launch pad waiting for its tanks to get filled. Most of the cast and crew are placed; we just have a few more roles to fill once the story if flushed out some more.

The goal for now is to start filming around Mid April. I will be releasing a press release later in the month. We will have a teaser ready for the Los Angeles Fangoria Week of Horrors in late April. We hill have the film wrapped by the time Comic-Con rolls around in July.

San Diego Motel Invaded by Radioactive Insects

San Diego, California (August 30, 2007) – Steel Web Studios is pleased to announce that pre-production has begun on ” Bed Bugs from Hell “, a feature-length horror film that will combine hardcore sex scenes, live insects and splatterpunk gore.

The tale of ” Bed Bugs from Hell ” unfolds as a mattress full of bed bugs is exposed to mutating radiation from a mysterious source. The irradiated insects soon infest a sleazy motel and eventually venture to the neighboring town to wreak havoc.

The film is inspired by the b-movie creature features of the 50’s. The title was originally conceived as a fictitious movie for a scene in Steel Web Studios’ short film ” Mail Order Bride “. Soon after the release of the film, fans began to request that the concept actually be made into a movie. Fans visiting the Steel Web Studios booth at the Comic-Con in San Diego were treated to a sneak preview of concept art for the film.

” Bed Bugs from Hell ” will be written and directed by David Quitmeyer, the creator of the notorious erotic horror film ” Slaughter Disc “. The film will be made available in both an “R” rated version and a limited edition XXX Director’s Cut.
